THE 3.8L ENGINE IN THE VAN USES 1 QT OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN DOING IT SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VAN. MECHANIC CHECKED IT OUT AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND SAID IT'S "NORMAL." IT SHOULDN'T BE NORMAL FOR A 2008, THAT IS A PROBLEM FROM 1968! CONCERN FOR RUNNING OUT OF OIL AND BLOWING AN ENGINE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR

TIPM(TOTAL POWER CONTROL MODULE) ACTED UP EVIDENCED BY NO POWER OCCASIONALLY TO THE CAR ONE WEEK BEFORE TOTAL FAILURE OF THE TIPM. ABLE TO GET STARTED AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES AND GOT IT TO TIRES PLUS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. AFTER HEARING FROM SERVICE MANAGER THAT PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD & IN MY READING ON INTERNET ABOUT ALL THE CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY ACTED SURPRISED AND PLAYED 'TOUGH' ON THE ISSUE BY SAYING THE PART IS ONLY COVERED FOR 2 YEARS. REPAIRS WERE MADE, COMPUTER FLASHED AT CHRYSLER AND THE COST TO ME FOR THE DEFECT WAS $1121.85 AND A WEEK LATER FOR AN ADDITIONAL $104.68 FOR A BATTERY REPLACEMENT. (OLD BATTERY STILL GOOD, BUT SUSPECT TO POWER ISSUE, PERHAPS RELATED?) TODAY, 7/9/15, MY CAR IS ONCE AGAIN DOWN WITH THE SAME COMPUTER PROBLEM, THIS TIME HAVING TO BE TOWED IN AS IT WOULD NOT "JUMP." WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE. I HAVE BEE ON THE WAITING LIST AT MY DEALER, LILLISTON IN MILLVILLE, NJ, FOR NINE MONTHS. I TOLD THEM MY ENGINE IS SHUTTING OFF UNINTENTIONALLY.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH AROUND APRIL 2015. WE MADE A BOOKING AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, DICK MEYERS DODGE IN HARRISONBURG VA. I'VE MADE REPEATED INQUIRIES FOR GETTING THE WORK DONE, BUT EVERY TIME GET THE SAME ANSWER IN THAT CHRYSLER IS SLOW IN GETTING THEM THE SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENT IGNITION SWITCHES. IT'S COMING UP ON 2 YEARS SINCE MAKING THE BOOKING AND STILL NO RESULTS. THIS SEEMS RIDICULOUS IN THAT IT IS TAKING SO LONG AND THERE'S STILL NO ANTICIPATED DELIVERY DATE.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER LAST FALL. THE NHTSA WEBSITE DATED THE RECALL 6/16/11 AND THEN IT WAS EXPANDED 6/26/14 TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE WITH LETTERS BEING SENT TO OWNERS 9/11/14. AS OF TODAY, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN FIXED BY CHRYSLER. I HAVE CALLED THEM TWICE AND BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER 30 MINUTES EACH TIME AND NOT SPOKEN TO ANYONE! CHRYSLER HAS DEFINITELY FAILED TO REMEDY THIS IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. I HAD AN INCIDENT YESTERDAY IN WHICH MY FOBIK MOVED TO THE ACCESSORY MODE AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS TRAVELING 67 MPH AND IN MODERATE TRAFFIC. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND GAVE ME QUITE A SCARE. I AM GRATEFUL MY THREE CHILDREN WERE NOT WITH ME. I HAVE FOLLOWED CHRYSLER'S PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE MY SAFETY, BUT THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ANYWAY.
