I ARRIVED AT WORK AND WAS GOING TO PARK IN MY DEDICATED PARKING SPOT. I HAD TO TURN TO THE LEFT AND TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL ACCORDINGLY, BUT A CAR WAS APPROACHING FROM THE FRONT SO I STOPPED AND WAITED FOR IT TO PASS. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE CAR SHOT FORWARD AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAD BEEN STEPPED ON VERY HARD. I HAD ABOUT 50 FEET TO THE BUILDING AND WAS FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO CORRECT THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE TURNED POSITION AND STRAIGHTEN THE WHEELS TO AVOID HITTING THE BUILDING FULL-ON. AS I HIT THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING THE CAR CAME TO A STAND STILL, BUT THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING AT FULL REVS. I MANAGED TO FORCE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR, BUT THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING AT HIGH REVS. I KEPT PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN AS HARD AS I COULD, AND SUDDENLY WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING ELSE, THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL REVS. THE CAR WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED AS WAS THE BUILDING. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN THAT I MANAGED TO CORRECT THE STEERING IN THAT SHORT DISTANCE, AND HIT THE BUILDING FULL-ON, THE PILLARS THAT HOLD UP THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE BUIDING WOULD HAVE COLAPSED ON THE CAR. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND HAVE A 9 PAGE PRINTOUT OF EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER DRIVERS. THIS IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
LOOSE DAB EMBLEM RETAINER.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM LED LIGHT WILL COME ON WHEN THE CAR IS CRANKED BUT BEGINS TO FLICKER AND WILL CUT COMPLETELY OFF WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF CRANKING THE VAN. IT WILL SOMETIMES COME BACK ON AND GO OFF AGAIN. REPLACING THE BULB IS NOT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM.
WHEN DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT OF A GROCERY STORE, MY VAN'S CLUSTER BOARD STARTED GOING HAYWIRE, ILLUMINATING ALL WARNING LIGHTS, TURNING WIPER BLADES ON WITHOUT THEM BEING ON, OPENING WINDOWS. TURNED VAN OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. NEXT DAY IT DID IT AGAIN WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH. TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND IT DID IT FOR HIM. HE BELIEVES IT HAS TO DO WITH THE WIRING IN SLIDING DOOR, WHICH DOES HAVE A RECALL BUT NOT FOR MY PARTICULAR VAN. IF MY 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY COULD ALSO CATCH FIRE AT THE WIRING HARNESS, IT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. EITHER WAY, IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO BE DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND HAVE EVERYTHING START TO GO HAYWIRE IN YOUR CAR. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. THIS PROBLEM ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AND AT THE LEAST, GIVE THE CONSUMERS A REASON FOR IT AND A REPAIR SOLUTION THAT DOESN'T COST THEM THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO TRY AND TROUBLESHOOT. *TR
THE WIRELESS SWITCH WONT START/TURN OVER MY VAN AND I LOOK UP MY VAN AND IT HAS A RECALL ON IT ITS A 08 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING LX. *TR
Multiple times the van will intermittently stall while driving down the road or stopped in traffic. First the dash lights flicker, speedometer and rpm gages go to 0, and warning lights such as esp, traction, abs, airbag, battery etc flicker on and off and occasionally hear almost a spark through radio speakers, then everything shuts off, both electrical and mechanically. When that happens I lose power steering and cannot get my hazards or brake lights to work. One time I could barely press the brake pedal, or steer and it was at night which means the vehicle was completely dark with no kinds of lights at an intersection with my 2 children and myself inside. So very scary! It gives me the worst anxiety to drive it and I'm too scared to sell it as I feel I would be knowingly selling a very unsafe vehicle. Occasionally the sliding side doors do not operate properly. First time the other night while the van was parked I hit the automatic shut button for the sliding door and lost all power to the vehicle and then it popped back in and operated fine. I have had multiple mechanics look at it and nobody can figure it out. Bought the van used in March or April of 2020 and had issues starting just 2 weeks after purchase. The van is now at around 108000 miles. I am out of money, a vehicle and options. Please help from a very scared and desperate mother who otherwise loves her minivan!
WHEN YOU SWITCH TO THE START POSITION YOU GET A CLICK BUT NO START. IF YOU REPEAT IT ENOUGH TIMES IT EVENTUALLY STARTS
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, WARNING LIGHTS COME ON.
AFTER CHANGING BRAKE COMPONENTS AND BLEEDING SYSTEM. THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUES TO GO TO THE FLOOR. OCCASIONALLY WORKING AS IF NOTHING IS WRONG . ALL THIS AFTER BLEEDING SYSTEM AND OBTAINING A SOLID PEDAL. DIY VIDEOS HAVE SHOWN OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND NO REAL ANSWER AS TO WHAT PART TO REPLACE OR IF ITS AVAILABLE. THE MASTER CYLINDER BEING CHANGED HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO BE DRIVEN IN TOWN AND HIGHWAY. STOPPING THE VAN TAKES MORE TIME AND IS SCARY BECAUSE SOMETIME IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT PRESSING AND OR PUMPING BEFORE SLOWING AND STOPPING. ALSO WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT THE PEDAL WILL SOMETIMES GO ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR YET STILL HOLDS VEHICLE IN THE STOPPED POSITION
I HAD A RECALL FOR THE IGNITION KEY FIXED BY CHRYSLER/ DODGE AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK I HAD FUZES POPPING AND THE SLIDING DOORS QUIT WORKING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON FOR 15 DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL CODES INCLUDING ONES FOR THE DVD PLAYER. THEY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO SHORT OR ANYTHING IN THE WHOLE VEHICLE AND THERE ISNT. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. NOW THE WHOLE VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND FUZES KEEP POPPING FOR NO REASON.
THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. STABILITY LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES FAIL. HAS HAPPENED ON THREE OCCASIONS NOW, TWICE ON CITY STREETS, ONCE AT HIGHWAY SPEED.
THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING IN THE HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AN THE ALL PANEL LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH MAKE LIKE A WHISLE NOISE AND SHUT OFF. AFTER A WHILE IT STARTS AGAIN BUT IN ABOUT 2,000 METERS DO THE SAME FOUR TIMES. WE NEED TO CALL A TRUCK CRANE. I HAVE READ A LOT OF PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE, SPENT A LOT OF MONEY REPLACING VARIOUS PIECES AND REMAIN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
CHRYSLER IS STATING THAT THE VIN NUMBER FOR MY 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY DOES NOT HAVE ANY RECALLS YET I'VE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER AND THE WIN WHICH IS THE L25 RECALL DOES NOT EXIST FOR THIS VAN BUT THAT IS THE EXACT PROBLEM I AM HAVING
THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US THREE TIMES IN THE LAST THREE WEEKS. SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE CAR WE TRAVELED LESS THAN A MILE AT ABOUT 25 MPH AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY TURNED OFF CAUSING THE POWER STEERING AND BREAKS TO FAIL. THE VAN RESTARTED ONE WE PUT IT IN PARK AND CONTINUED TO WORK FINE AFTER THAT. WE WERE DRIVING IN A CROWDED NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE CHILDREN PLAY AT THE TIME.
THE REAR LIFTGATE CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY WHEN THERE IS A FAULT FROM LOSS OF SIGNAL. THIS SHOULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN AS ALL LIFTGATE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE OPERATED AND OPENED MANUALLY. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE DESIGN BY THE ENGINEERS.
MY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING. IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. THERE ARE NO LIGHTS THAT COME ON, ON THE DASHBOARD THAT INDICATE ANY ERROR, EXCEPT THE ANTILOCK BREAK LIGHT WILL OCCASIONALLY LIGHT UP. I COULD BE DRIVING SLOW OR FAST, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE, IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF, AND THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES LOSE POWER AND DON'T WORK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND HAVE ALSO SEEN THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF OTHER CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL. PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN THEIR VEHICLES TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS AND MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, 2 STILL IN CARSEATS, AND MY YOUNGEST WHO IS 1 IS HANDICAP. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT. I STILL OWE $10,000 ON MY AUTO LOAN FOR THIS CAR, SO I AM STUCK WITH IT. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE, SINCE SO MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME MYSTERY SAFETY ISSUE.
WIRING RUNNING AT BOTH BACK DOORS GET CAUGHT UP IN DOOR TRACK AND BREAK. THIS CAUSES WINDOWS AND DOORS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TO MALFUNCTION. SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING ALONG WITH MILEAGE. THIS KILLS BATTERY REQUIRING YOU TO JUMP VEHICLE OFTEN. THIS HAS OCCURRED IN THE PAST YEAR, LOSING DIFFERENT THINGS AS TIME GOES BY.
WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 40 MPH, AND TYPICALLY WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF STARTING, THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN ALL POWER (ENGINE, ELECTRICAL, AND BRAKES) WHILE DRIVING, MAKING IT VERY HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AND VERY DANGEROUS . I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED IT WAS OVERHEATING AND RESULT OF THE COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKING, WHICH WE HAD THEM FIX, AND PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR. THERE WAS NO WAY IT WAS OVERHEATING THAT QUICKLY AFTER STARTING. DEALER HAS REFUSED TO LOOK AT OTHER POSTINGS ONLINE THAT SUGGEST THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM, AND UNRELATED TO THE COOLANT SYSTEM.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL LOCK UP IN "LIMP" MODE SO THAT THE SPEED WILL NOT GO OVER 45 WHILE THE ENGINE IS RACING AT A HIGH RPM. THIS IS NOT A GREAT FEELING TO BE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ANOTHER POOR DESIGN BY THE ENGINEERS. ALSO, THERE IS NOT A DIPSTICK ON THE TRANSMISSION TO CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL. ALSO ANOTHER PAIR ENGINEER DESIGN. CHYSLER VEHICLES USED TO BE TOP RATED FOR PERFORMANCE AND THOSE ARE THE ONLY VEHICLES I'VE OWNED SINCE 1967! I'M GETTING SO FRUSTRATED WITH MY CHYSLER VEHICLES TO THE POINT THAT I MAY HAVE TO START BUYING A DIFFERENT BRAND. THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!!

THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V047000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A BELL SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE INDICATOR TURNED OFF MOMENTARILY, BUT THEN REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING NEEDED TO A RESET. THE TECHNICIAN RESET THE CLOCKSPRING, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 143,000. *DT
OUR BACK DOOR FROM DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT WANT A OPEN ( WITH KEY, MANUALLY NOR WITH INSIDE BUTTON. WINDOW OPENS NOT SURE IF IT LOCKS. JUST STOPPED WORKING ALL OF A SUDDEN, GOT OUT OF GROCERIES AND OPENING TO PUT BAGS AND NOTHING.
THE FAN STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. IT IS DRAINING THE BATTERY AND I HAVE TO DIACONNECT THE BATTERY JUST TO TURN THE FAN OFF.
HEAD LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING THEN WENT DARK. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, BOTH HEAD LIGHTS STARTED WORKING AGAIN. HOWEVER, BOTH HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND AGAIN STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS AGAIN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. MANY REPORTS ON FCA FAULTY TIPM
FRONT WIPERS START WITHOUT ENGAGING BUTTON, WHEN THIS HAPPENS WATER FLUID POURS OUT BACK WINDOW RESERVOIR. THEN FOR SOME REASON HORN STARTS GOING OFF AT THE SAME TIME. DID NOT THEY WERE EVEN CONNECTED. I HAVE TO UNPLUG BATTERY TO STOP.
VAN RANDOMLY FAILS TO START. NO WARNING LIGHTS. SYMPTOMS ARE RANDOM AND SPORADIC. SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE SEEMS TO CLICK, BUT ENGINE NEVER TURNS OVER. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND RAN FINE THE DAY BEFORE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LEAKED WATER AND COOLANT, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CONTINUALLY TOP OFF THE FLUIDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V611000 (EQUIPMENT) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GARBER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 5330 BAY RD, SAGINAW, MI 48604, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF HER CHILD WHO WAS REGULARLY TRANSPORTED USING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 174,923.
THE CARS ALARM GOES OFF AND WINSHIEILD WIPERS AND SQIRTS WINDSHEILD WASHER FLUID WHEN CAR IS OFF AND ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT STOP IS DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. ALSO WHEN WE WERE ON TGE EXPRESSWAY THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS WENT OFF AND THE MINIVANS BRAKES WENT ON BY THEMSELVES.
VARIOUS ODB CODES INVOLVING TIPM ISSUES, WHICH HAS NOW PROGRESSED TO VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.
THE WIPERS KICK ON WHEN WHEN THERE NOT TURNED ON THEY SQUIRT WINDSHIELD WIPERS FLUID TOO
VAN INTERMITTENTLY WON'T START. ALL COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN CHECK AND ARE OPERATIONAL, HOWEVER PROBLEM CONTINUES.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD START TO FLASH ON AND OFF, THE CAR GOES INTO A LIMP MODE, THE HEADLIGHTS GO OFF, AND EVENTUALLY THE CAR GOES DEAD WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES RECENTLY WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC.
THE WIRING HARNESS IN MY MINIVAN BROKE, CAUSING THE WIRES TO BECOME PINCHED AND SEVER. WHILE TRYING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM WE BECAME AWARE OF A SAFETY RECALL ON THE SAME PART. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BERNARD'S IN NEW RICHMOND WI. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE (OBVIOUSLY NOT CORRECTLY, IF THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED) AND THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THIS WOULD NOT/ SHOULD NOT OCCUR WITHOUT DEFAULT. I FEAR FIRE WITH MY CHILDREN/ GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR...

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER SAFFORD FORD LINCOLN OF SALISBURY (1902 N SALISBURY BLVD, SALISBURY, MD 21801 (443) 210-4835) WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS CONCERNING THE HEADLIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL WINDSHIELD WIPER COME ON AND WANT GO OFF TURN SINGLE STOP WORKING LIGHTS WONT BRITEN WHEN I TURN KEY IT JUST KEEP TURNING ON IT OWN AIR WORK WHEN IT WANT TO BRAKES CHANGED AND STILL MAKE NOSE AND AXLE MAKE A CLUCKING SOUND THIS IS GOING WHILE I AM DRIVEING ON CITY STREET AND MAIN HIGH WAY
WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD THE MOTOR DIES AS IF I TURNED IT OFF, SO OF COURSE IT'S DIFFICULT TO STEER. I MANAGED TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DECIDED TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND TRY TO START IT. IT STARTED AND OFF I WENT. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED SO AS I WAS COASTING ALONG, I JUST PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED PERIODICALLY OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. ALSO, AWHILE AGO, I PULLED INTO MY PARKING PLACE AT WORK AND JUST AS I WAS GETTING READY TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF, EVERYTHING WENT WILD, HORN HONKING, ALARM GOING OFF, BOTH FRONT AND BACK WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING FULL BORE WITH THE WASHER FLUID SPRAYING OUT! THIS CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES EVEN THOUGH THE KEY WAS OUT OF THE IGNITION! IT FINALLY STOPPED, ALL THE WASHER FLUID RAN OUT! THIS HAS HAPPENED PERIODICALLY OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS. IT HAPPENED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND WOULDN'T STOP UNTIL WE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY. I'M TOLD IT IS A FAULTY POWER MODULE! THAT'S CRAZY, NEVER IN MY LIFE HAS ANYTHING LIKE THIS HYPO ME WITH A VEHICLE! I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD STAND BEHIND THIS FAULTY PART. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BUT LUCKILY HAS NOT! CAN'T REALLY AFFORD A NEW PART OR VEHICLE!
VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING AT RANDOM. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES DRIVING AT ANY AND ALL SPEEDS, CUTTING OUT POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHILE AT SPEEDS OF 55 MPH MAKING IT EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS.
SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER ON AND OFF FOR A LITTLE BIT AND THEN GO OUT COMPLETELY. REPLACED HEADLIGHTS DID NOT HELP. REPLACED HEADLIGHTS FUSE AND RELAY FUSE DID NOT HELP. WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TIPM MODULE. THIS MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM.
THE HORN WAS HONKING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WIPER FLUID GOING OFF, REAR WIPERS, FLASHERS GOING AND IGNITION STALLING WHILE DRIVING,
MY TIRE LIGHT CAME ON I CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE AND FOUND ONE OF THE VALVE STEMS BROKE OFF. TOOK IT INTO TIRE SHOP AND WAS TOLD CHRYSLER IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE STEMS. HAD TO REPLACE ONE. NEED NEW TIRES AND WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE OTHER THREE.
2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY SUTTING OFF INSTANTLY, NUMERIOUS TIMES AT 20 TO 30 MPR WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, 40 TO 50 MPH ON SERVICE STREETS, AT SPEED, STARTING TO SLOW, AND OR ATTEMPTING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. DEALER HAS HAD VAN 3 WEEKS, SAID THEY DROVE TWICE TO SIMULATE AND COULD NOT REPEATE. EXTREAMLY DANGERIOU S, ALMOST REAR-ENDED MORE THAN ONCE.
THE ENGINE STALLS/SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS OCCURRED ABOUT 12 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS, AND IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE CAR WHEN DRIVING THE ENGINE TURNS OFF AND POWER STEERING IS LOST AND BRAKING BECOMES DIFFICULT. IT IS SOMEWHAT RANDOM BUT MORE PROMINENT ON COOLER AND HUMID DAYS. THE RECALL FOR THE BAD IGNITION KEY FOB SWITCH WAS COMPLETED 5 YEARS AGO AND SHOULD NOT BE THE ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VAN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH, DOORS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE ALARM SYSTEM WENT OFF AND COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN DRIVING AND ALL THE POWER IS LOST TO THE POWER STEERING, ENGINE AND LIGHTS. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS IT CAN HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY AS WELL AS ON A CITY STREET. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED SO MANY TIMES AND HAVE FEARS TO DRIVE THIS VAN ANYWHERE! WE WERE STRANDED IN SEATTLE ON A CITY STREET AND HAD TO WAIT TWO HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT TO THE NEAREST DEALER THERE. WHEN IT ARRIVED AT THE DEALER IT WAS LATE AFTERNOON AND THE MECHANIC AGREED THAT THE SYSTEMS WERE NOT 'COMMUNICATING' WITH EACH OTHER BUT HE WOULD CHECK IT OUT IN THE MORNING...BY THE MORNING, THE VAN WAS NOT DOING IT'S CRAZINESS AND THE MECHANIC SAID HE COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! WE HAVE HAD THE LOCAL DEALER CHECK IT OUT AND THEY CANNOT SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM, BUT OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A PROBLEM. WHY CAN'T CHRYSLER FIGURE THIS OUT? IT IS DANGEROUS AND SCARY AND OUR BELOVED VAN IS NO LONGER RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR FAMILY. NHTSA....THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM...IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND, YES, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BIG TIME! WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET CHRYSLER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE VANS. IT IS AS IF THEY ARE 'POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL' HELP US PLEASE! WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO?
VEHICLE HAS 4 DIFFERENT SIZES OF TIRES. DARK OUT WHEN I BOUGHT VEHICLE. ALSO TRANSMISSION SLIPS IN AND OUT OF GEAR. A/C IMMEDIATELY QUIT WORKING. OILY BURNING SMELL AFTER DRIVEN. USES AN ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF GAS $25-30 A DAY. MY FRIEND NOTICED THE CORD COMING OUT OF THE TIRE A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER I GOT THE VAN BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING KLUNKING SOUNDS. I TOOK IT TO GOODYEAR AND THEY WERE APPALLED!
VEHICLE STALLED ON FREEWAY AT 60 MPH, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER. UNABLE TO RESTART AND CONTINUE ON. FUEL RELAY FAILURE.
WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES THE IGNITION SWITCH BECOMES ENGAGED AND DOES NOT RELEASE AUTOMATICALLY BACK TO THE ON POSITION. THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO CONTINUALLY REV AND NOT COMPLETE ENGINE START UP.
WHILE IN MOTION, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY TURN OFF, WHICH WILL THEN DEPOWER VARIOUS KEY SAFETY SYSTEMS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AIR BAGS, POWER STEERING, AND POWER BRAKING. LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY OF THESE SYSTEMS INCREASE THE RISK OF CRASH AND/OR INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THIS HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT THIS WAY.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VAN, THIS VEHICLE STOPS IN MIDDLE OF THE DRIVING AND STEERING LOCKS. I CANNOT MOVE CAR LEFT OR RIGHT... IT LOCKS OFTEN. MAKE DRIVING OF THIS VEHICLE MAKES VERY DANGEROUS AND THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING DEFECT. WHY WOULD A MOVING VEHICLE STOPS SUDDENLY AND IT CAN BE RESTARTED AFTER TAKING OUT THE KEY ANF PLACING IT BACK IN. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURING WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE SAME ISSUE OCCURES TWICE A MONTH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED AND REMAINED LIT. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO PASS INSPECTION DUE TO THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE KEY FOB FAILED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOORS. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, IF THE ELECTRIC FUNCTION BUTTON WAS PRESSED, THE CONTACT HAD TO OPEN THE DOORS MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE, POWER STEERING, AND BRAKES SHUT DOWN. LUCKILY NO ACCIDENT, BUT HAD TO COME TO A STOP ON CITY STREET WHILE TRAVELLING WITH TRAFFIC TO RESTART VEHICLE. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM APPEARED TO BE OPERATING BUT HAD TO USE MANUAL POWER TO STEER AND STOP THE VEHICLE - NO POWER FROM ENGINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 OR 7 TIMES, BUT THREE TIMES IN PAST WEEK.
