I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET WHEN THE VAN SUDDENLY DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND WOULDN'T RELEASE THE KEY. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE VAN STARTED AGAIN. I BEGAN TO DRIVE HOME THROUGH CITY STREETS WHEN ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER THE VAN ONCE AGAIN DIED AND LOST POWER TO THE BRAKES AND STEERING AND WOULDN'T RELEASE KEY EVENTUALLY THE CAR MAYBE A CLICKING SOUND AND ALLOWED ME TO START CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND FOUND NO ERROR CODES.
I WAS DRING WHEN I NOTICE TEMPERATURE GAGE GOING UP I PULL OVER TO CHECK AND I BEGGING TO SMELL GAS SO I OPEN THE RESOIRVER FOR COOLING FLUID IN I SOME) A STRONG ODOR OF GAS I TOOK TO MECHANIC AND THEY STATED IT IS A POSSIBLE LEAK IN THE HEAD GASKET
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING AND HORN FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IT WAS LATER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
WAS DRIVING AND THE FOLLOWING ELECTRICAL ITEMS STARTING ON THEIR OWN: DOOR LOCKS ' LOCK AND UNLOCK REPEATEDLY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ' HIGHEST SETTING NON-STOP WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID (USED ALL THE FLUID) LIGHTS ' FLASHING ON AND OFF HORN ' REPEATEDLY GOING ON AND OFF STOPPED CAR IN ROAD AND TURNED OFF CAR AND TOOK OUT THE KEY AND STILL THE ISSUE CONTINUED FOR 20 MINUTES UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO DISCONNECT THE CABLE TO THE BATTERY AT WHICH TIME IT ALL STOPPED. THINKING THAT MAYBE THIS WOULD RESET IT ALL WE TRIED TO PUT THE CABLE BACK ON THE BATTERY AND IT ALL STARTED AGAIN. BECAUSE WE HAD TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE ROAD AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT, WE STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND ALL THE SAME ISSUES CONTINUED AS ABOVE. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 100 FEET TO PUT THE CAR IN A DRIVEWAY, IT ALL STOPPED EXCEPT A WARNING LIGHT FOR TRACTION CONTROL. AFTER 100 FEET MORE, ALL LIGHTS WERE GONE AND THE CAR SEEMED NORMAL. DROVE THE CAR HOME AND HAD NO ISSUES. LOOK TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY TROUBLE CODES (HAVE A CODE READER) AND NO CODES ARE PRESENT LOOKING INTERNET, I FOUND LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND OTHER DODGE (DURANGO FOR EXAMPLE, CARAVAN) AND JEEP (CHEROKEE FOR EXAMPLE). ALMOST ALL OF THEM SAID THAT ISSUE WAS TIPM DEFECTIVE. *TR
MY HEADLIGHTS GO OFF AND ON. EACH MORNING THE FLASH ON AND OFF ABOUT 3 TIMES AND THEN GO OFF. I REPLACED THE SWITCH ON THE DASH AND THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN THAT IS THE DIMMER SWITCH FOR LIGHTS AND WIPERS SWITCH. I REPLACED EACH SUGGESTED THING EXCEPT THE TIPM WHICH IS ESTIMATED OVER $800.

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES SUDDENLY FLASHED OFF AND ON, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF AND ON, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE TEMPERATURE, MILES TO THE GALLON, DIRECTION THE CAR IS FACING GOES DARK. THEN THE WARNING LIGHTS, GAS GAUGE, TACHOMETER, SPEED FLASH ON & OFF AND THE VEHICLE WILL TRY TO STALL OR TURN OFF. WHILE THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE FLASHING THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT IS CUTTING OUT AND WILL DIE OUT. I HAVE SEVERAL VIDEOS OF IT HAPPENING.
FIRESTONE TIRES P225/65R17, 4 TIRES ON A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY SUBN GY [XXX] [XXX] --I HAVE HAD TO TIRES BLOW OUT IN 2 MONTHS. THE TIRES WERE FAIRLY NEW - THREADS LOOKED GOOD. ONE BLOW OUT WAS AT A LOW SPEED, BUT IT WAS EXPLOSIVE, AND THE OTHER WAS IN THE DIAMOND LANE OF THE LIE AT ABOUT 55 MPH. FIRST TIME THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE SECOND TIME THAT TIRE AND REMAINING TWO OTHER FIRESTONE TIRES WERE REPLACED. IN THE VEHICLE WERE MY HUSBAND, (DRIVER) MYSELF (PASSENGER SEAT) MY SON 13 Y/O AND MY MOTHER 87 Y/O IN BACK SEAT. OTHER THAN A SHOCK AT THE SOUND AND VIBRATION AND THEN THE FEAR OF CROSSING OVER TO THE SHOULDER FROM THE LIE HOV LANE (ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC). IT APPEARS WE ARE ALL FINE. AS THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THIS OCCURRED IN 2 MONTHS TIME, A BLOW OUT OF THIS TIRE SIZE AND MAKE, AND WE WERE EXTREMELY LUCKY NOT TO BE INJURED OR INJURE ANYONE ELSE AS THE RUBBER BLEW OFF THE TIRE I - SIMILAR TO A RETREADED TRUCK TIRE - I AM COMPELLED TO REPORT IT. THE DAY WE BOUGHT OUR VEHICLE WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES. THE CAR WOULD CRANK AND NOT START FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. WOULD RANDOMLY (EVERY FEW MONTHS) SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING (LEAVING POWER BRAKES/STEERING UNAVAILABLE) AND RANDOMLY JUST NOT START AT ALL. NOW WE ARE HAVING MANY ELECTRICAL FAILURES DAILY FOR NO LESS THAN 20 MINUTES AT A TIME: HORN ON CONTINUOUS HONK, WIPERS GOING CRAZY, WIPER FLUID SPRAYING OUT, CAR SHUTTING DOWN IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, LOCKS GOING UP AND DOWN, THE FRONT SEAT BLOWER MOTOR SHUTTING OFF INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO RANDOMLY THE CAR WILL NOT 'SHUT OFF' WHEN I TAKE THE KEY OUT. IT'S FULLY DRIVEABLE WITHOUT THE KEY AND THE KEY OPENING IS IN THE 'OFF' POSITION. ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPEN FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND THEN THE CAR GOES BACK TO NORMAL. WHEN IT'S SHUT OFF, THE CAR WILL NOT TURN BACK ON FOR APX 20 MINUTES. I WAS MOST RECENTLY STUCK IN A VERY DANGEROUS INTERSECTION JUST AS I WAS MERGING ONTO ANOTHER FREEWAY AT THE TOP OF A CLOVER-LEAF INTERSECTION DURING RUSH-HOUR. UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND UNABLE TO START OR MOVE THE VEHICLE - PRAYING I WOULDN'T GET HIT, BUT I COULDN'T SEE BECAUSE MY WIPER FLUID WAS SPRAYING AT A CONSTANT SPEED AND MY WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN ON. THEY'VE NOW 'GUESSED' THAT MANY OF OUR ISSUES ARE TIPM RELATED, BUT THEY'RE NOT GUARANTEEING THAT IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND WILL COST $1200. THEY'VE ORDERED THE PARTY BUT I CAN'T AFFORD IT! PAY THE MORTGAGE, OR DEATH BY CHRYSLER? I HAVE A COPY OF SOME CODES THAT WERE PULLED THE FIRST DAY OF THE 'DAILY' ISSUES: U0141, P2533, C121C, B1A79, B10EC, P0691 - SINCE THEN THE LIST HAS MORE THAN DOUBLED, BUT THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A COPY OF THE CODES. I'VE CONTACTED CHRYSLER EXPLAINING THAT THIS CAR IS LEAVING US IN HORRIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, BUT THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN HELPING OUT. I MADE SURE TO SAY MY 'GOODBYES' ON THEIR RECORDED LINES.
MY BRAKES SEEM TO LAST FROM 20,000 TO 30,000 MILES. REPLACEMENT PADS ARE UNDER A ONE YEAR WARRANTY AND THOSE ARE FREE WHEN THEY NEED REPLACED. HOWEVER, AFTER SOME RESEARCH, IT IS THE CALIPER DESIGN THAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. GUIDE RODS NEED TO BE CONSTANTLY GREASED TO AVOID STICKING. I HAVE SEEN THE BRAKES SMOKING A BIT A FEW TIMES AND RIMS FEEL REALLY HOT TO THE TOUCH DUE TO BRAKES DRAGGING. CALIPER UPGRADE TO THE HD 2 PISTON DESIGN SEEMS TO FIX THE ISSUE IN NEWER MODELS. TIRED OF PUTTING ON BRAKES ONCE A YEAR AND THIS ALSO CAUSES POOR GAS MILEAGE. VAN HAS 127,000 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY.
THE HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS FLICKER AND THEN TURN OFF THEY WILL DO THIS WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING SCARY WHEN ITS DARK
IN ONE MONTH OUR BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP ON US WHILE DRIVING. THIS PAST TIME, A "FLASH FLAME" SPARKED, WENT OUT IMMEDIATELY BUT STILL SMOKED. HAD BOTH OF MY KIDS IN CAR SEATS AT THE TIME. TOWED TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY "COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM" SO WANTED US TO PAY $4,000 JUST TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM INSTEAD OF TAKING THEIR TIME TO PIN POINT WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 16 DAYS AND ONLY 1 OF THOSE 16 DAYS WAS IT LOOKED AT. THEN THE GENTLEMEN KEPT PUSHING BLAME ON ANOTHER COMPANY, ETC. THEN WHEN WE PICKED THE VAN UP, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON ALONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL WINDING. NEVER HAS THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON UNTIL IT WAS IN THEIR HANDS. THEY ARE ALSO STATING THAT THERE WAS NEVER A "FLAME", I HAD MY FAMILY AND A STRANGER HELP ME AT THE SCENE AND THERE WAS SOOT ALONG WITH THE BRAKE LINE HAVING SOME KIND OF DAMAGE FROM BEING MELTED. THEY ARE NOT HELPING US AT ALL! THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS MATTER!! WE HAVE READ SEVERAL FORUMS WITH OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE AND THE ROTORS, BRAKE PADS, CALIPERS CONTINUOUSLY PREMATURELY HAVING TO BE REPLACED. I EVEN EMAILED CHRYSLER THE LINKS.
1ST VEHICLE STOPPED SHIFTING HAD TO PULL OVER TURN OFF CAR AND WAIT THEN IT WORKED FOR AWHILE , DOES THIS EVERY FEW DAYS. BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES BEFORE 55000 ON THE VEHICLE. AT 58000 THE VEHICLE BOUNCES OVER EVERY BUMP BIG OR SMALL SOME THING WRONG IN FRONT END HAVE BEEN TOLD IT?S FINE
TOOK MY TOWN AND COUNTRY IN FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL AND AFTER THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH THE 2 KEY SELF PROGRAMING DOES NO WORK ANY MORE,, CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID YOU MUST TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR KEY PROGRAMING, I ASKED THEM HOW CANE YOU DO A RECALL AND TAKE OUT SOMETHING THAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO IN THE MANUAL,, THE SAID I WAS OUT OF LUCK,, NEED TO PAY THE DEALER TO PROGRAM AND KEYS I HAVE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SMOKING EXCESSIVELY AFTER BEING RE-FUELED, THE AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO FUNCTION, AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER (WHEELS OF CHICAGO, 6229 N WESTERN AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60659, (773) 262-7500) INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY A RECALL AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER HAD NOT DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
STOPPED ON THE ROAD AND THEN CHECK ENCINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN WITH STOPPING WHILE IN THE MIDDLE DRIVING WOW SO DANGEROUS SOME WAS IS SERIOUSLY GOING TO GET HURT PULLED OVER THEN AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR I TRIED TO START AND AGAIN JUST STARTED WITH NO PROBLE BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON ....
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING WIPERS STARTS FLASHING DASH BOARD GOES HEY WIRE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND ITS VERY HARD TO STEER AND WONT START. THEN AFTER A FEW HOURS IT MIGHT STAR BACK UP OR DAYS LATER.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 NIGHT DRIVING ! COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ENGINE AND BRAKING ALL HAMPERED BY LOSS OF POWER AS I TRIED TO SLOW VEHICLE TO A SAFE STOP ALL OF A SUDDEN POWER CAME BACK. THIS WAS A COMPLETE SAFETY ISSUE WITH NO POWER NO HEADLIGHTS NO TAILLIGHTS DRIVING 55 AT NIGHT ON A BACK COUNTRY HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50000 MILES ON IT.
I AM A 29 YEAR OLD MALE. I AM SEVERELY DISABLED (QUADRIPLEGIC). I DRIVE A MODIFIED 2008 CHRYSLER T&C VAN WITH SPECIAL STEERING AND BRAKE CONTROLS AND A WHEEL CHAIR LIFT. I HAVE OWNED AND DRIVEN MY VAN 3 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED. IT MUST BE A SAFE AND RELIABLE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF MY SPECIAL NEEDS AND PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE ON THE PLANET THAT I CAN DRIVE. ABOUT A MONTH AGO, I TOOK MY VAN INTO CHRIS MYERS CHRYSLER, DAPHNE, AL, WHERE THEY REPLACED MY IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY FOB PER SAFETY RECALL #14V373000. ON FRI JULY 15, 2016, I WENT TO DRIVE MY VAN TO THE GROCERY STORE. I PRESSED THE DOOR OPEN BUTTON ON MY NEWLY PROVIDED KEY FOB AND THE VAN IMMEDIATELY WENT BERSERK. JUST ABOUT EVERY ELECTRICALLY POWERED DEVICE ON THE VAN EXPLODED INTO OPERATION - ALL AT THE SAME INSTANCE - WIPER BLADES ON ULTRA HIGH SPEED, REAR WINDOW WASHER SPEWING FLUID, HORN BLASTING, FAN MOTORS ROARING - AND ON AND ON! CONFINED TO MY WHEELCHAIR, THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO TO STOP THE CRAZINESS FROM THE VAN. ALL THE NEIGHBORS IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX WERE NOW OUT IN THE PARKING LOT WITNESSING ALL THE OUTRAGEOUS THINGS THE VAN WAS DOING. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO GET THE HOOD OPEN AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO PUT A STOP TO THE VEHICLE SELF DESTRUCTING. WITH A FRIENDS HELP (A FRIEND WITH SOME VEHICLE MECHANIC EXPERTISE), WE CHECKED ALL FUSES - ALL WERE OKAY. WE WERE NOT ABLE TO START THE VAN - THE VAN WAS COMPLETELY "DEAD"! MY FRIEND MANAGES AN AUTO PARTS STORE IN GULF SHORES, AL, AND KNOWS THE SERVICE MANAGER AT GULF CHRYSLER, FOLEY, AL. AS SOON AS MY FRIEND DESCRIBED THE SITUATION, THE FOLEY SERVICE MANAGER ASKED IF THE RECALL HAD BEEN ACCOMPLISHED AND SAID IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE NEXT MORNING, MY TOWING SERVICE TOWED MY VAN TO NEARBY CHRIS MYERS CHRYSLER. THEIR SERVICE MANAGER HAS PRESENTED ME A $1K BILL TO REPLACE A MODULE.

L25 WAS SUPERSEDED BY RO3. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ON 10-2-14 AND 3-10-15 ABOUT L25. SINCE THEN, I HAVE CALLED ON 6-23-15, 6-6-16, AND ON 6-29-16 ABOUT RO3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE REPAIR FAILED TO REMEDY THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,444.
I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. MY VIN NUMBER IS [XXX]. I HAD THE RECALL (R03 / NHTSA 14V-373) DONE TO MY VEHICLE THAT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE JUST TURNS OFF AND STEERING LOCKS. SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR OF THIS RECALL HOWEVER, IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. WHENEVER DRIVING IT TURNS OFF AND LOCKS WHEEL WHICH IN SEVERAL INSTANCES ME AND MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO LET A FRIEND BORROW THE VEHICLE AND IT DID THE SAME THING TO HIM. NOW I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH IS JEEP CHRYSLER LOCATED AT 55 W I 240 SERVICE RD, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73139. THEY STATED THE CODES DID NOT SHOW A MODULE REPAIR AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE. THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED THE MODULE AND THE KEY FOBS BEFORE DURING THE RECALL REPAIR. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY AND AUTHORIZE A TWO HOUR DIAGNOSTIC FOR A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT. HOWEVER, WHEN I FIRST WENT IN 2011 AND ADDRESSED THE ISSUE WITH JEEP CHRYSLER ORGANIZATION. THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, YEARS LATER NOW THAT A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS REPORTED BY ME PREVIOUSLY , THEY TRIED FIXING IT. ATTACHED IS THE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. EVEN AFTER THEY ALLEGEDLY REPAIRED THIS PROBLEM, IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING AS BEFORE TURNS OFF, SO THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED CORRECTLY. NOW THEY ARE WANTING ME TO PAY FOR FURTHER TESTING OF MY VEHICLE BEFORE THEY WILL REPAIR THE ISSUE. IT IS A TRUE SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT RANDOMLY ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC TWICE WHO REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND VACUUM LINE. THE DEALER ALSO COMPLETED A MANUFACTURER RECALL REPAIR FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HESITATE. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SURGED FORWARD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A WHIPLASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
ENGINE SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. NO WARNINGS, JUST DIES. DIAGNOSTICS REVEAL A BAD TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. RECALLS ISSUED FOR MULTIPLE MODELS BUT NOT MINE. I WAS TOLD, I HAVE ALL THE SYMPTOMS BUT I DON'T HAVE THE FLU ! NOW THEY WANT ALMOST $ 1000 TO FIX IT ! IT'S AN ESTABLISHED, DEFECTIVE PART BUT THEY'LL LET ME DRIVE AWAY IN IT UNLESS I CAN COME UP WITH THE MONEY. WHEN ON THE ROAD IN WARMER WEATHER EVERYTHING IS FINE AND THEN ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS STOP WORKING WINDOWS, AIR CONDITIONER, SPEED CONTROL, RADIO, NOT SURE WHAT ELSE. ALL IDIOT LIGHTS COME ON, WIPERS COME ON AND WONT STOP UNTIL KEY IS IN OFF POSITION OR IF YOU KEEP DRIVING IT WILL EVENTUALITY COME TO NORMAL BUT UNTIL IT DOES, NO WINDOWS, NO AC MAKES IT A HAZARD IN TRAFFIC AT TEMPS AROUND 100 DEGREES. MAKES ONE WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT BECAUSE IT GETS REAL HOT IN THE CAR REAL FAST AND IT WORKS ON YOUR MIND. DURING LOW SPEED, RIGHT HAND TURNS ON CITY STREETS OUR 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HAS LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN 2015 PRIOR TO THE NHTSA RECALL NO. : 14V-373 / MANUFACTURER RECALL NO. : R03 BEING ADDRESSED AND HAS NOW HAPPENED TWICE IN 2016 ON THE SAME DAY. THE DEALERSHIP AFTER A WEEK OF PERIODICALLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO TRY AND RECREATE THE ISSUE, CLAIMS THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE ON-BOARD COMPUTER HAS NOT LOGGED A DIAGNOSTIC CODE TO REPLACE A SPECIFIC PART. THIS VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE FOR MY FAMILY AND AM ESCALATING THE ISSUE TO NHTSA, CHRYSLER, SOCIAL MEDIA AND LOCAL NEWS MEDIA. *TR

TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING BUT IT ONLY LASTED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND IS NOW DOING THE SAME THING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IS SHOWING AGAIN A PROBLEM WITH THE ECM. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO EXPLANATION FROM CHRYSLER AND NO RECALL ISSUED.

THIS IS A COMPLAINT CONCERNING SAFETY RECALL L25 = WIN MODULE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO FIX THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ME ON A WAITING LIST. THE DEALERSHIP IS WAITING ON PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 9 MONTHS FOR CHRYSLER TO SUPPLY THE LOCAL DEALER WITH THE NECESSARY PARTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
BRAKE PEDAL IS SPONGY. BRAKING NOT EFFECTIVE. MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING. BRAKE PADS WORE OUT AT 20,000 MILES.
AFTER HAVING THE WIN MODULE REPLACED DUE TO RECALL THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING WE WOULD LOOSE POWER ALL GAUGES (RPM,MPG,FUEL), START FLASHING ALL THE DASH LIGHTS, CHIMING, WIPERS WOULD ENGAGE, AND HEADLIGHTS START FLASHING. (ALL AT THE SAME TIME) THIS WOULD RANDOMLY HAPPEN AT ALL TIMES DAY OR NIGHT, IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER (COLD, WARM, WET, DRY) AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND VARIOUS DRIVING TERRAINS(BOTH CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS). AFTER DRIVING AT NIGHT AND HAVING HEADLIGHTS FLASHING OFF AND ON WHILE EVERYTHING LIGHTING UP AND TURNING ON AND OFF (EXTREMELY DANGEROUS) WE LEFT AT DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK AND ALSO SHOWED THEM A VIDEO THAT WE TOOK OF THE CAR GOING HAYWIRE. THEY HOWEVER, COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. THEY SAID ALL THEY KNEW WAS THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY TRYING TO SHUT ITSELF OFF AND THAT THE COMPUTER WAS RESETTING ITSELF TO AVOID THE ENGINE TURNING OFF. THEY COULD NOT TELL US WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING OR HOW TO FIX THIS.
THE GLASS ON THE VAN STEAMS UP TO EASILY DURING COOLER WEATHER WHEN NO HEAT IS TURNED ON OR VENT. THE BODY OF THE VAN COLLECTS WATER IN THE DOORS HOUSING THE GLASS IN THE SLIDING DOORS ON BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE TO BODY AND A RECENT VISIT TO A BREAK SHOP EVEN REPLACEMENT BREAKS THE VAN STILL MAKES SQUEAKS AT TIMES. A RECENT BUMPER ACCIDENT I SHARED WITH A BODY DETAILER SAID THE BACK BUMPER SEEMS OFF AND NEEDS REPAIR, I HAVE DONE NO REPAIRS ON THE BODY AND THE VAN IS IN THE ORIGINAL CONDITION FROM OWNERS THAT TRANSFERRED IT TO ME. I ALSO FEEL THE LIGHTING FOR AFTER LEAVING THE VAN TRUNK LIGHT STAYS ON ANYTIME A DOOR IS NOT OPEN AND HAVE NOTICED THE LIGHTS IN THE FRONT OF THE VAN TAKE A WHILE TO GO OFF AFTER LOCKING AND TURNING OFF VEICHLE *JS
THE PASSENGER SIDE OUTBOARD SHIELD REQUIRED REPLACING. WHEN THE SHIELD WAS BEING TAKEN OFF THE LOWER END OF THE SEAT BELT FELL OFF. THIS WAS DUE TO STRIPPED THREADS ON THE PAD HEAD SCREW THAT IS USED TO FASTEN THE BELT TO THE SEAT FRAME AND ALSO THE THREADS IN THE SEAT FRAME ARE STRIPPED.
AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE WE EXPERIENCED A STALL CONDITION THAT RENDERED THE STEERING AND BRAKES UNUSABLE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THE SITUATION NEARLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CONDITION HAPPEN ON A DRY, SUNNY DAY WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION BUT NOT ACCELERATING PRIOR TO GOING INTO A TURN.
I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS RECALL NOTICES AND NONE HAVE EVER BEEN RESOLVED DUE TO "PARTS NOT AVAILABLE" OR "PARTS ON BACK ORDER" THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE FIRST AIRBAG ISSUE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE RECALL. WHY WON'T CHRYSLER FIX MY CAR?
