THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS SHOWN BY A SEVERE REDUCTION IN RPM'S--SOMETIMES, AS IN THIS INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF (STALLS) WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH RESULTS IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY SITUATION IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY.WE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE ONCE BEFORE IN MAY, 2015. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT WAS FORWARD FACING WITH THE LATCH SYSTEM OR THE SAFETY BELT USED TO SECURE THE CHILD. WHILE REMOVING THE COVER FROM THE SEAT TO WASH IT, A PIECE OF PADDING DETACHED FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PADDING COULD NOT BE PLACED BACK ON THE SEAT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHILD WAS NOT IN THE SAFETY SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I AM WRITING IN REGARD TO THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE RECALL THAT AFFECTS MY VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE TO LODGE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE DEALERSHIP: MCGRATH AUTO 1616 51ST ST NE CEDAR RAPIDS,IA52402 SALES:(877) 226-0908 SERVICE:(888) 903-7864 PARTS:(888) 903-7864 THIS DEALERSHIP HAS *NOT* FIXED THIS DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. WE HAVE CALLED THIS DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS RECALL IN LATE JUNE AND ON JULY 15. EACH TIME WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PARTS WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED AND WE WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY WERE IN STOCK. MY VEHICLE HAS STARTED EXHIBITING THE SYMPTOMS OF THE DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RECALL AND HAS STARTED SHUTTING OFF WHILE WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (SEPTEMBER 4) TO STATE THAT WE HAD A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDED THE VEHICLE FIXED IMMEDIATELY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD THE PARTS BUT REQUESTED WE LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH THEM ALL DAY RATHER THAN THE 'ONE HOUR TO COMPLETE' THE RECALL NOTICE STATES. SINCE WE LIVE APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP I ASKED FOR A LOANER VEHICLE IF WE WERE GOING TO BE WITHOUT OUR VEHICLE FOR A DAY AND WAS TOLD NO LOANER VEHICLE WAS AVAILABLE. I THEN ASKED FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN FOR A WEEK. WE NOW HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON SEPTEMBER 11 AT 1PM. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY VEHICLE IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO EXHIBIT THIS DEFECT WHILE DRIVING AND PUT MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IN JEOPARDY. I AM APPALLED BY THE LACK OF URGENCY THIS DEALERSHIP HAS EXHIBITED IN DEALING WITH THIS RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND I WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE REPRIMANDED. LOST VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHEN I WENT OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, ON HIGHWAY US-1 IN SAINT AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA. I PULLED OVER AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE OFF. BUT THIS HAPPENED TWICE. SECOND TIME, I HAD TO WIGGLE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, TO GET THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN.

THE HEAD LIGHTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. IT ONLY AFFECTS THE HEAD LIGHTS. WE WERE DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT AND THE HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT. WE HAD TO DRIVE THE REST OF THE WAY WITH THE FOG LIGHTS ONLY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER BUT FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE IT IS SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN THE MINIVAN WAS PLACED IN PARK THE KEY FOB WAS NOT ABLE TO RELEASE OR TURN OFF CAR BECAUSE THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT TURN TO THE OFF PART AND CAR WOULD NOT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE BATTERY OF THE MINIVAN IT WAS DISCONNECTED AND THERE IS A MESSAGE ON DASH BOARD OF BAD KEY WITHOUT KEY EVEN IN THE IGNITION SWITCH.
WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED, THE ENTIRE DASH CLUSTER FLASHES ALL THE LIGHTS, THE WIPERS RANDOMLY GO ON AND OFF, THE HEADLIGHTS GO ON AND OFF, THE GAS GAUGE GOES TO "E", THE TACHOMETER GOES TO ZERO. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO OUR LOCAL CHRYSTLER DEALERSHIP ROUGHLY 8 MONTHS AGO ONLY FOR THEM TO SAY NOTHING IS WRONG. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS FOR MONTHS AND THERE ARE POSTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET FROM OTHERS WHO ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS EVEN A VIDEO TAKEN FROM SOMEONE WHILE DRIVING TO PROVE THIS. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSTLER LLC 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 DAYS. FINALLY TODAY, A SUPERVISOR CALLED ME AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VAN AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO ASSIST. I ALSO NOTICED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FROM NUMEROUS STATES ON THIS ISSUE UNDER TIPM7. I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER AND PLAN TO FILE A LAWSUIT MYSELF SINCE THIS $24K VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE IT IN FEAR HER OR OUR CHILDREN MAY BE INJURED. THIS ISSUE HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED SINCE 2009 YET THERE IS NO RECALL? I AM WILLING TO BET THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS UNSAFE ISSUE BUT CHOSE TO DO NOTHING. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE YOU MAY OFFER IN THIS MATTER.
WE HAD JUST FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AND WE'RE READY TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE RADIO SHUT OFF. IT CAME BACK ON AFTER 2 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE. THIS ALARMED US AS LATELY WE HAVE HAD A HARD TIME STARTING THE CAR AND ALSO THE STEERING WHEEL GOES RIGID SOMETIMES AND THE CAR STOPS. OUR DEALER HAS CHECKED AND TELLS US THERE IS NO PROBLEM.
WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACCELERATING. THIS ONLY LASTED A BRIEF SECOND, BUT THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND DROVE OVER A PARKING BLOCK AND OFF THE CURB. SOON THEREAFTER, I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. I WOULD TURN THE LIGHT SWITCH TO ON. THE LIGHTS FLICKERED FOR A SECOND, THEN SHUT OFF. I WOULD TOGGLE THE LIGHT SWITCH AND WOULD EVENTUALLY WOULD GET THE HEADLIGHTS TO TURN ON. THIS ISSUE BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE TO THE POINT WHERE THEY WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS PRESENTED A SAFETY ISSUE. THANKFULLY, I LIVE ONLY 10 MINUTES FROM WHERE I WORK, AND USE THE FOG LIGHTS ON WELL LIT ROADWAYS TO GET BACK AND FORTH, BUT OBVIOUSLY CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR LONG DISTANCES OR ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES DURING NIGHT TIME HOURS. WHILE THIS ISSUE GOT WORSE, THE RADIO IN THE VEHICLE WOULD UNEXPLAINABLE SHUT DOWN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HEAR A SOUND LIKE WIRES SHORT CIRCUITING FROM SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE DASH. THE SAME TIME THE RADIO GOES OUT, I NOTICED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING, POWER WINDOWS, AND DOOR LOCKS WOULD ALSO LOSE POWER. AFTER RESEARCHING ALL THESE ISSUES THROUGH THE INTERNET AND CHRYSLER FORUMS, IT SEEMS THE LOGICAL ISSUE WOULD BE THE T.I.P.M. ( TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). I AM HAVING THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. MY ONLY CONCERN IS ALL THE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS MODULE ON CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEP VEHICLES, AND NO SAFETY RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. THUS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT.

WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY OUR MECHANIC THAT OUR TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WE TOOK OUR CAR IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AFTER THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON -- EVEN AFTER CHECKING/REPLACING FUSES, REPLACING HEADLIGHT BULBS, AND INSTALLING A NEW HEADLIGHT SWITCH. THE MECHANIC ADVISED US THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC CHECK REVEALED AN ERROR CODE FROM THE TIPM. THEY RESET THE CODE, AND THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME FUNCTIONAL AGAIN, BUT THEY WERE UNCERTAIN HOW LONG THE FIX WOULD LAST (IT ONLY LASTED THAT AFTERNOON). AS A RESULT, THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE TIPM. (EXPECTED REPAIR COSTS: $1600, PLUS ABOUT $200 IN REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT BULB AND SWITCH COSTS.) THE SAME EVENING (OF THE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE, ABOVE), THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED AGAIN AT NIGHTTIME.
