I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WITH ABOUT 17000 MILES ON THE CAR FRONT AND REAR BRAKES OVER HEATING CAUSING WARPAGE IN ROTORS. THEY WERE REPLACED BY CHRYSLER BUT HAVE GONE BAD AGAIN, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES YOU FELL THE WHEEL SHIMMY AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE IS GREATLY REDUCED. *TR
WARPED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. STEERING WHEEL PULSATION WHEN BRAKING. *TR
WAS GOING ON A TRIP WITH MY FAMILY IN OUR 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY LX. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE EXPESSWAY, WE HAD TO BRAKE. WELL WHEN YOU TRY TO BRAKE, THE PEDAL GOES DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND YOU DO NOT STOP. WHEN YOU DO STOP THE TIRES LOCK UP AND SKID. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I EVEN TRIED REPLACING THE BRAKE PADS AND THAT DIDNT HELP. I HAVE BEEN READING A LOT OF INFORMATION ONLINE THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THEY HAVENT RECALLED THIS VEHICLE YET!!! *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING MY TOWN AND COUNTRY CHRYSLER MINIVAN THE ENGINE SHUTOFF ON A MAIN STREET. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME AS I COULD NOT DRIVE AS THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND GLIDED OVER IN ORDER TO PUT THE VAN IN PARK AND RESTART THE VAN. MY KIDS WERE WITH ME. WE COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED IF THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD HIT ME. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SHOULDER AND THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE SERVICE BRAKES. HOWEVER, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO REV. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AFTER PLACING THE KEY INTO AUXILIARY MODE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT DECIDED TO INSTALL A RECORDER ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. ALL LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL ILLUMINATED, AND THE DOOR LOCKS, AIR CONDITIONING AND RADIO FAILED. THE DEALER ANALYZED THE RECORDING AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIN MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
RECALL L25 WAS ANNOUNCED SUMMER OF 2014. IT IS NOW MARCH 2015 AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE STILL NOT PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WEBSITE INDICATES PARTS AVAILABLE BUT LOCAL DEALERS DENY HAVING PARTS. NO ONE ANSWER PHONE NUMBER ON THE RECALL NOTICE BUT RECORDED MESSAGES DENIES THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN THIS VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND PLACED INTO PARK THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL SOMETIMES GO TO THE OFF POSITION AND THE KEY FOB CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE SWITCH. OTHER TIMES THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL ONLY GO TO THE ACCESSORY POSITION. THIS WILL SHUT OFF THE ENGINE BUT WILL LEAVE THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THE ON POSITION. AT THIS POINT YOU CANNOT REMOVE THE KEY FOB. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, BUT IT HAPPENS TO OFTEN. MY FEELING IS THAT IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE IS A GASOLINE SPILL OF ANY KIND THERE IS NO WAY TO SHUT OFF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH COULD START A FIRE. THANK YOU *TR

WE HAVE HAD RECALL DONE! IT DID NOT WORK. THIS VEHICLE IS DYING FOR NO REASON/NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING!!!! WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD ISSUES STARTING VEHICLE FOR LAST TWO YEARS. PUT KEY IN AND NOTHING. SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND SUDDENLY IT STARTS. WELL, NOW, THE NEWEST THING THAT IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY, IS IT JUST STOPS. LAST NIGHT, THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON BUT NOTHING ELSE AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER STEERING OR BRAKING. LIGHTS ARE STILL ON VEHICLE BUT UNTIL YOU SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND RESTART WITH KEY YOU ARE GLIDING. IT IS NOT SAFE AND WE ARE TAKING THIS VEHICLE TO A DEALER THAT SAYS THEY ARE BACKLOGGED AND DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET TO IT. VERY SCARY SITUATION!!!!

THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
HOSE AND TUBE,HEATER RETURN,HEATER SUPPLY AND RETURN ASM CHRYSLER PN 04677603AL HAS 2 PLASTIC Y-CONNECTORS(GOING TO FRONT SEAT HEATER,REAR SEAT HEATER AND TRANSMISSION) THAT SPLITS AT THE SEAM AND ANTIFREEZE SPRAYS ONTO HOT ENGINE CAUSING STEAM THAT IMPAIRS VISION OF THE ROAD.THE ONE THAT SPLIT ON OURS WAS THE Y-CONNECTOR CLOSEST TO THE ENGINE BLOCK(PROBABLY GETS THE HOTTEST ANTIFREEZE).THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER PARTS PERSON SAYS THEY PROBABLY SELL 3 OF THESE $105.00 PLUS TAX ASM PER WEEK SO HE KNEW WHAT I NEEDED BEFORE I FINISHED TELLING HIM ALL THE DETAILS.HE JUST NEEDED MY VIN NO. TO GET THE RIGHT PN AS THERE IS YET ANOTHER PN FOR THE 3.8 LITRE ENGINE THAT HAS THE SAME ISSUE (AND MAYBE OTHER PNS FOR OTHER ENGINE SIZES.THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS COMMON FAILURE ON THE 2008-2012 MODELS. *TR
OUR 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY STALLS (TURNS OFF) UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, AND DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY ERROR CODES IN THE COMPUTER. NORMALLY THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 35 MPH AND EARLY IN OUR JOURNEYS. *TR

WHEN DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VAN'S LIGHTS, WIPERS, TURN SIGNALS, RADIO ALL WENT OUT AND BRAKING BECAME DIFFICULT. PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND EVERYTHING WORKED AGAIN. MAYBE PART OF L25 RECALL. CALLED 2 CHRYSLER DEALERS AFTER INCIDENT AND HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST FOR OVER A YEAR TO GET THE RECALL DONE - NO PARTS AVAILABLE FROM CHRYSLER.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN MAKING A TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND STATED THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PART AND THE REMEDY WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING EXTREMELY ROUGH WHILE WAITING FOR THE PART TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

VAN WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY WHEN SMOKE WAS WITNESSED COMING OUT OF THE WINDOW. WHEN DOOR WAS OPENED, IT REVEALED AN OPEN FLAME NEAR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. FORTUNATELY, DAMAGE BY THE FLAME WAS MINIMAL. THE SWITCH PRACTICALLY MELTED. A SECOND WITNESS QUICKLY PULLED OUT THE SWITCH AND CUT THE WIRE TO STOP THE SHORTED CIRCUIT. THIS EVENT OCCURRED AROUND AUGUST 2014. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED OF THE NEED TO REPLACE THE PART. AS OF THE TIME OF THIS POSTING ON MAY 20, 2015, CHRYSLER HAS NOT REPLACED THE PART DESPITE THE RECALL ISSUED SOMETIME AROUND JUNE 2014. A CALL TO CHRYSLER REVEALED THAT IT IS UNLIKELY ANY DEALERSHIP HAS THE PART. THIS IS, BY FAR, AN UNREASONABLE TIME TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM WHICH STILL IS UNCERTAIN OF A REPAIR DATE.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ENGINE AND ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS IDENTIFIED IN THE BELOW INVESTIGATION. DATE INVESTIGATION OPENED: SEP 25, 2014 DATE INVESTIGATION CLOSED: OPEN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004 COMPONENT(S): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THE CAR'S HEADLIGHTS WILL EITHER NOT TURN ON OR WILL TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM(ALTHOUGH THEY SAW MANY TIPM ERROR CODES. IT FINALLY OCCURRED AGAIN LAST WEEK AND MY WIFE RUSHED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NEEDED TO LET THE CAR RUN FOR TWO HOURS SINCE THE TECHNICIAN WAS BUSY AND WE DIDN'T WANT TO RISK THEM NOT SEEING IT OCCUR. THEY HAVE DETERMINED IT TO BE A FAILING TIPM MODULE AND THE PART IS CURRENTLY ON BACKORDER WITH NO ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE. WE CAN NO LONGER USE THE CAR DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS AND ARE FEVERISHLY WAITING ON THE REPLACEMENT PART. DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT AND LOSING YOUR LIGHTS, NOT A GOOD THING. *TR
MY CHRYSLER VAN HAS TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THREE TIMES IN THE LAST SEVEN DAYS. WHILE MOST 2010 VANS WERE COVERED UNDER THE IGNITION RECALL MINE WAS MANUFACTURED IN NOVEMBER 2010 SO IT IS NOT IN THE RECALL. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT ALL OTHER CHRYSLER VANS ARE EXPERIENCING.
THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. SOMETIMES IT WILL RESTART IMMEDIATELY, SOMETIMES IT JUST CRANKS FOR A MIN, THEN KICKS OVER AND RUNS ROUGH EVENTUALLY SMOOTHING OUT. WE HAVE NOTICED THE KEY IS ROTATING OUT OF THE ON POSITION, SOMETIMES FULLY INTO ACC, SOMETIMES JUST A LITTLE OUT OF ON. 2 DEALERS HAVE LOOKED AT IT, BUT THE COMPUTER DOESN'T LOG ANY CODES AND THEY CANT REPLICATE THE ISSUE, SO THE MECHANICS CAN'T FIX ANYTHING. THIS FALLS INLINE WITH THE L25 RECALL ISSUES. THIS VAN WAS BUILT 2 WEEKS AFTER THE L25 RECALL STOPS. I HAVE FOUND THE PARTS ONLINE FOR UNDER $20 BUT CANNOT REPLACE THEM AS THE COMPUTER NEEDS PROGRAMMED. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS TO US AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD AROUND US AS WE HAVE NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. *TR
AFTER STARTING CAR HEADLIGHTS FLASHED ON THEN OFF 2 OR 3 TIMES THEN REMAINED OFF. AFTER TURNING HEADLIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAS CONTINUED SINCE THE DATE OF FIRST INCIDENT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE EVENING OF AUGUST 3,2014 THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF, DO NOT PLAN ON DRIVING AT NIGHT AGAIN UNTIL I RECEIVE REPLY FROM CHRYSLER. CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COMPLAIN TODAY AT ABOUT 11:30A.M. AND ONLY WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH SUPERVISOR TO HELP RESOLVE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT SUPERVISOR WILL CALL ME BY CLOSING ON AUGUST 5,2014. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TAG APPARENTLY OCCURRED IN THE 2005 AND 2006 TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVANS AND IS OBVIOUSLY STILL NOT RESOLVED. THE CHRYSLER DEALER I WENT TO TODAY, UNIVERSITY DODGE DIDN'T SEEMED TO CONCERNED AND OFFERED NO HELP. *TR
DRIVING IN RESIDENTIAL AREA LESS THAN 20MPH, RPMS EXCEEDED 3000, HAD TO SET FOOT ON BREAK HARD TO HOLD BACK VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING, GAS PEDAL DID NOT PHYSICALLY MOVE AND CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON, PLACED VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL RPMS REMAINED HIGH, HAD TO SHUT DOWN VEHICLE. RESTARTED RPMS REMAINED IN NORMAL RANGE. SINCE INCIDENT VEHICLE RUNS VERY HOT, NO TROUBLE LIGHTS ON, OIL AND OTHER FLUID LEVELS SAFE. MOST RECENT SMELL OF "HOT" WIRING MELTING/BURNING SMELL. HOOD VERY HOT TO TOUCH AND COOL AIR TEMPERATURES FOR WEATHER CONDITIONS, BLOWS VERY HOT AIR THROUGH VENTS. REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD NO TROUBLE LIGHTS NOT MUCH THEY CAN DO AS NO CURRENT RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 32 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHICH CAUSED A CRASHED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

VEHICLE SHUT OFF, LOST STEERING, BRAKES AND ALL ELECTRICAL, EXCEPT FOR THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT WHICH WAS ILLUMINATED. I WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO SAID THEY HAD NO INFO ON ANY SUCH PROBLEM. *TR

THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
I WANT TO REPORT A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING 4D PASSENGER EXTENDED VAN WITH 3.8L ENGINE. PURCHASED THE CAR FROM CARMAX IN MAY 2014 AND TOOK IT ON IT'S FIRST TRIP OVER THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND. I CHECKED THE OIL BEFORE I LEFT AND IT WAS FULL AND GOLDEN IN COLOR AS IT SHOULD BE. THE TRIP WAS FROM VIENNA, VIRGINIA TO CAMILLA, GEORGIA AND LASTED 10 DAYS COVERING 1800 MILES. I STARTED RECEIVING OIL MAINTANCE WARNINGS ON JULY 11 WHICH IS UNUSAL AND CHECKED THE OIL. TO MY ASTONISHMENT THE ENGINE WAS ALMOST DRY AND WHAT LITTLE OIL I COULD SEE WAS BLACK IN COLOR. IT TOOK 3 1/2 QUARTS OF OIL TO BRING THE VAN BACK UP TO FULL CAPACITY!! IN DOING RESEARCH ABOUT THIS ABNORMAL INSTANCE IT APPEARS FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ALREADY FILED THAT CHRYSLER AND YOURSELF HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OF EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE THAT LEADS TO ENGINE MALFUNCTION FOR A WHILE. IT APPEARS THE SOLUTIONS ARE VALUE STEM SEAL REPLACMENT, PCV VALUE REPLACEMENT AND FINALLY A FULL ENGINE RING JOB AS LAST RESORT. I WAS A PREVIOUS OWNER OF A 1993 CHRYLSER TOWN & COUNTRY WITH 220,000 MILES ON IT AND IT WOULD BURN 1/2 QUART IN 3000 MILES AT THE MOST. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE FAULTY 3.8L CHRYSLER ENGINE AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT SAFETY ISSUES FROM NEEDLESS BLOWN ENGINES WITH FAMILY MEMBERS ABOARD. THERE IS NO INDICATION OF ENGINE LEAKS OR WITH THE EXHAUST USAGE. THIS ENGINE JUST CONSUMES RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF OIL MORE THAN THE 1 QUART PER 750 MILES CHRYSLER CLAIMS IS NOMAL WHICH IN THIS DAY AND AGE IS RIDICULOUS ALSO. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY VAN WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER QUIT WORKING, THEN THE POWER WINDOW'S WOULD NOT WORK, THEN THE POWER LOCK'S QUIT WORKING, WIPER'S QUIT, PLUS SEVERAL OTHER THING'S. THE INSIDE OF THE VAN BECAME VERY HOT AS IT WAS A 101 OUTSIDE AND I WAS AFRAID TO SHUT THE VAN OFF AND BE STRANDED. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO WORK AND I DROVE IT TO A DEALER NOT FROM MY TOWN WHO SHUT VAN OFF THEN RESTARTED IT, EVERYTHING WORKED. I FELT THAT I AND MY WIFE WERE IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!!! I ALSO HAD TROUBLE WITH IT STARTING SEVERAL TIMES AS WELL. ITOOK VAN TO MY LOCAL DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE WAS BAD; AFTER SOME DELAY WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT FIXED. WE BOUGHT THE 2010 TOWN AND COUNTRY USED. NOW I KNOW THAT IT WAS SUBJECT TO THE L25 RECALL. HOWEVER, THE CARFAX WHEN WE BOUGHT IT SAYS THAT IT WAS SUBJECT TO NO RECALL AND DESPITE MULTIPLE SERVICES AT CHRYSLER DEALERS, THE IGNITION SWITCH REPAIR WAS NEVER MADE (ACCORDING TO THE CARFAX HISTORY). AT PRESENT, THE TECHNICIAN AT OUR CHRYSLER DEALER SAYS HE WILL NOT REPAIR THE IGNITION SWITCH BECAUSE THE RECALL IS THREE YEARS OLD. *TR

CHRYSLER KNOWS THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON ITS 2010 (AND OTHER MODEL YEARS) IS DEFECTIVE BUT THEY REFUSE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO IT'S CUSTOMERS. THE BRAKE PADS AND CALIPERS ARE NOT LARGE ENOUGH FOR THE VEHICLES SIZE AND WEIGHT WHICH CAUSES THE BRAKES TO OVERHEAT AND WARP THE ROTORS IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD. THIS LEADS TO BRAKE PEDAL PULSATION AND EXCESSIVE DANGEROUS STEERING WHEEL SHAKE WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE SETS OF PADS, ROTORS AND CALIPERS REPLACED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY I FIND MYSELF HAVING TO PAY FOR BRAKE PARTS/SERVICE OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 33,000 MILES ON IT AND IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD ANY BRAKE WORK YET BUT INSTEAD, IT'S HAD MULTIPLE BRAKE SERVICES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,350.
WE STOPPED TO EAT AT A RESTAURANT. I WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. MY HUSBAND UNLOCKED THE CAR AND I PULLED ON THE DOOR HANDLE, BUT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. WE TRIED A FEW TIMES AND STILL COULDN'T OPEN IT. MY HUSBAND TRIED FROM OUTSIDE OF THE CAR AND COULDN'T OPEN IT THAT WAY EITHER. I WAS STUCK IN THE CAR. 1. THE FRONT LEFT HEADLAMP BURNED A HOLE INTO THE CASING AND WAS SMOKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. 2. PERIODICALLY WHILE IN TRANSIT, THE TURN SIGNALS, HVAC SYSTEM, RADIO AND DOOR CONTROLS WILL BLACK OUT. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH MY SUBDIVISION, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS FOR BETTER VISIBILITY. AT THIS INSTANCE, THE WIPER BLADES TURNED ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. AT THE SAME MOMENT, THE VEHICLE LOST THE HIGH BEAMS, TURN SIGNALS AND WINDSHIELD SOLUTION MOTOR ACTIVATION. THE VEHICLE REMAINED OPERATIONAL AND NO ONE WAS INJURED. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TURN SIGNAL, HIGH BEAM AND WINDSHIELD WIPER SELECTOR LEVER. *TR
I HAD THE KEY FOB IN THE IGNITION AND WHEN I WENT TO TURN OFF VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF ALL THE WAY. THE KEY FOB SEEMED TO HAVE SEPARATED SOMEWHAT. I WRESTLED WITH GETTING THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF FOR A WHILE AND WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF. WHEN I WENT TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE KEY FOB WOULD NOT WORK. THERE WAS POWER TO THE FOB. IT WOULD LOCK/UNLOCK DOORS AND THE BATTERY WAS FINE. THE KEY FOB WOULD NOT TURN AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK OR GET THE CAR TO DO ANYTHING. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW WIN MODULE. THIS WAS RECALLED AND FIXED IN 2012. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS NOT THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD ON THE RECALL THEY FIXED A COMPONENT OF THE WIN MODULE AND NOW I NEED A WHOLE NEW ONE FOR $800 AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER THIS EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 54,000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND CHRYSLER SHOULD FIX IT. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND IT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO A CASE MANAGER. WE WILL SEE WHAT THE CASE MANAGER SAYS. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. AT 75,000 MILES RIGHT REAR TIRE MONITOR ALARMED AND WITHIN 5 MINUTES ALL AIR HAD LEAKED OUT. ACCIDENT ALMOST OCCURRED BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD. REMOVED TIRE AND TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP. THEY SHOWED ME THE FAULT WAS A CORRODED TPMS DEVICE. THEY REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH NON TPMS STEM. VERY CONCERNED THE OTHER 3 WILL LET GO IN SIMILAR FASHION. WAY TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS NOTED ON VARIOUS INTERNET SITES. REPLACEMENT COST IS ALSO VERY HIGH BUT IS FORCED ON PEOPLE IF THEY WANT TO BE SAFE. *TR
THE CAB OF OUR VEHICLE FILLS WITH DUST MAKING IT A HAZARD FOR OUR FAMILY, WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID WE NEEDED TO CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND TO THEIR SURPRISE, THIS PARTICULAR VAN DID NOT COME WITH ONE. IT WAS STATED BY CHRYSLER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, WE WOULD HAVE TO "LIVE WITH IT". THIS IS A MAJOR HEALTH CONCERN AND SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO VISIBILITY AND BREATHING ISSUES. THE DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DOCUMENTED THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF DUST IN THE VENTS, BUT CHRYSLER WILL DO NOTHING SAYING IT RUNS LIKE IT IS SUPPOSE TO. DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF DUST WE HAVE HAD TO COVER OUR CHILDREN FACES WITH TOWELS TO PREVENT BREATHING PROBLEMS. THIS OCCURS EVEN WHEN THE SYSTEM IS IN RECIRCULATE. *TR
IN TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING MY WINDSHIELD WASHERS TO NOT WORK, AFTER FOUR VISITS TO THE DEALER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIP MODULE WAS BAD. (PROBABLY CAUSING OTHER PROBLEMS THAT I HAD NOT CHECKED ABOUT). THE PART IS GOING TO COST 850.00 AND IS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO THE INABILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER TO SUPPLY THE PARTS FAST ENOUGH BECAUSE OF THE HIGH DEMAND. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 13,000 MILES BUT IS FOUR YEARS OLD SO OUT OF WARRANTY. I THINK DUE TO THE LARGE INCIDENCE OF FAILURE OF THIS PART, THERE SHOULD BE SOME COMPENSATION OR RECALL INFORMATION. *TR
