POWER STEERING INTERMITTENT FAILURE WHEN BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACES AND FOR THE FIRST 100 FEET OF DRIVING. LOUD WHINING SOUND ON ACCELERATION.
MY VEHICLE STARTS TREMBLING AND SHUTS DOWN ALL OF THE SUDDEN, ALL THE TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING SLOW OR FAST. IT STOPS SOMETIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE THREE KIDS AND THIS IS OUR ONLY WAY OF TRANSPORTATION. I AM TRULY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY.
VAN WILL SWITCH OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AND AIRBAGS TO SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. MY VAN IS A 2010 BUT FOR SOME REASON NOT COVERED UNDER A CHRYSLER RECALL TO REPLACE THE WIN MODULE. I CURRENTLY HAVE VAN AT CHRYSLER DEALER AND HAVING REPAIR COMPLETED ON MY OWN DIME. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL CHRYSLER VANS MANUFACTURED IN THE 2010 MODEL YEAR. THE KEY FOB WILL BE IN THE IGNITION BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH IS FAULTY AND SWITCHES THE MOTOR OFF. VAN WILL RESTART IF YOU PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND TURN THE SWITCH BACK ON. VERY UNSAFE.*DT CONSUMER STATED AT THIS POINT THIS REPAIR SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM.*JB
THE TIPM IN MY 2010 T&C HAS A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY I HAVE COME TO BELIEVE AND AFTER FINDING A PETITION WAS DENIED I AM LOOKING FOR RESOLUTIONS . THESE CAR MANUFACTURES BUILD VEHICLES AS CHEAP AS THEY CAN AND DONT CARE FOR PUBLIC SAFETY JUST PROFITS IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE OWN UP TO IT AND FIX IT ! MALE A BETTER PRODUCT AND PEOPLE WILL BUY IT GLADLY IF ITS A GOOD VEHICLE . CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THE RELAY IN TOWN AND COUNTRYS VANS! MY VAN DOES NOT WANT TO START AFTER SITTING HAS NOT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THANK GOD
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND THEN WENT OUT. AFTER PULLING OVER TO SIT FOR ABOUT 15 MIN, LIGHTS STILL DIDN'T WORK. COULDN'T DRIVE AT ALL. NEXT DAY TRIED LIGHTS DURING DAY TIME AND WORKED. AFTER 24 HOURS LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. NEW BULBS ARE IN PLACE, NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME IN THAT LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING OR A SHORT WAS NOTED OR AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. CAR IS NOT THROWING ANY ELECTRICAL CODE FAILURES EITHER.
I BOUGHT THIS 2010 CHRYLER TOWN AND COUNTRY IN OCTOBER 01 2019, FIVE DAYS LATER I CALL THE DEALER AND EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING AND TOLD THEM THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING THAT SAID VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE COULD I HAVE THE VEHICLE TOW BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP OR HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT IT WHERE I LIVE AND THEY SAID THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP .AS I AS DRIVING I ALMOST GOT HIT THREE TIMES DRIVING 100 MILES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP DRIVE I GOT FROM THE CONSUMER STATE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. *JS
2010 DODGE TOWN & COUNTRY AIR BAG LIGHT ON WHICH CAUSES HORN NOT TO WORK AN CRUISE CONTROL. *TR
NUMEROUS TIMES, THE VEHICLE, IN A PARKED STATE, FAILS TO START; AFTER THE KEY IS PUT IN THE IGNITION AND TURNED FULLY TO THE NORMAL STARTING POSITION.
LAST NIGHT OUR VAN JUST SHUT DOWN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD SO I HAD NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET I DISCOVER THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TOWN AND COUNTRY. AND THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS IN MOTION. THIS IS PROBABLY THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. CHECKED THE VIN FOR ANY RECALLS AND HAD NO RECALLS COME UP. NOW I'M FURIOUS THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT WANT HELP ANYONE WITH THE PROBLEM. THIS IS MY WIFE'S MAIN VEHICLE AND HAULS OUR 3 KIDS IN IT. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CHRYSLER VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS. I FINANCIALLY CAN'T GO BUY ANOTHER BRAND OF VEHICLE AT THE DROP OF A HAT, BUT I WILL GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS I CAN AND GO OUT OF MY WAY TO DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM BUYING CHRYSLER. I DON'T CARE IF THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS. OBVIOUSLY THE PEOPLE AT CHRYSLER DON'T DRIVE THEIR OWN PRODUCT OR THIS WOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE ANYMORE.
ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2019 I WAS DRIVING ON U.S. 36 FROM DANVILLE, IN TO AVON, IN. NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF 550 E MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE FLEW OFF MY CAR WHILE I WAS GOING 55 M.P.H. LUCKILY I WAS IN THE SLOW LANE AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND NO ONE WAS HURT. THE REASON I AM WRITING IS BECAUSE ALL 5 STUDS ARE MISSING FROM THE WHEEL HUB. THERE IS NO METAL REMAINING AND NO SIGNS OF SHEARING. I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS A RECALL OR IF NOT, MAYBE IT SHOULD BE.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM TWICE IN THE 1 YEAR I OWNED THE VEHICLE. FIRST ISSUE I HAD WAS WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS WHILE IN A UNDESIRABLE LOCATION. THE SECOND TIME THE TIPM WAS REPLACED WAS AFTER MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD EITHER WORK OR NOT WORK AND SOMETIMES ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT WOULD TURN ON. IT WAS SPORADIC. THIS COULD LEAD TO SAFETY ISSUES.
WHILE STATIONARY (PARKED), VEHICLE STARTS ON OWN AND ELECTRIC DOORS OPEN. WHILE IN MOTION, VEHICLE SHUTS OFF.
WHILE IN MOTION MY CAR TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHILE IN PARK SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT START RIGHT AWAY BUT EVERYTHING ELSE TURNS ON.
VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING ON STREET. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR.
THE VEHICLE WHILE MOVING WOULD SHUT DOWN SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING WHICH MAKE IT DANGEROUS TO OPERATE. IT WOULD HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY , CITY STREET.
VEHICLE STARTED FINE, WAS DRIVEN FOR 25 MINUTES. SAT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES THEN WOULD NOT CRANK WHEN TRYING TO START. EVERYTHING HAD POWER, NO DIMMING OF LIGHTS WHEN TURNING KEY IN IGNITION. THE STARTER SIMPLY MADE NO SOUND/ATTEMPT AT ALL. THESE SYMPTOMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH L25 RECALL IN OTHER 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRIES.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION, NUMEROUS TIME OVER THE YEARS IT'S HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREETS AND ON HIGHWAY.
DANGER! WHILE IN MOTION, THREE OR 4 TIMES SINCE BUYING TOWN & COUNTRY IN DEC 2009 THE POWER STEERING FROZE & I HAD TO MUSCLE THE WHEEL TO COMPLETE THE TURN. NOW THAT MY DAUGHTER IS DRIVING I AM SCARED TO DEATH FOR HER. I TOOK THE CAR TO SERVICE & THEY FOUND NO CODES & NOTHING WRONG.
COMING TO A STOP OR SLOWING DOWN OR EVEN CRUISING AT EVEN 40 MPH, THE RPM'S WILL DROP TO ZERO WITHOUT WARNING AND THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. SOMETIME THIS WILL BE PRECEDED BY A JERKING MOTION IN THE CAR. IF WE PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL WE CAN IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS WE LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IF WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND WE ARE EXPOSED TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WE HAVE NEVER YET HAD THESE IGNITION PROBLEMS OCCUR ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, OUR IGNITION KEY FOB HAS MANY TIMES MYSTERIOUSLY TURNED OUR CAR ON OR OFF, HAS CAUSED THE ALARM TO COME ON, HAS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED OUR CAR, AND HAS EVEN OPENED OUR WINDOWS PART WAY WHEN WE ARE APPROACHING OUR VAN. THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN OCCURRING FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. WE HAVE HAD A CHRYSLER DEALER SERVICE DEPT. AND ANOTHER REPUTABLE MECHANIC BOTH UNSUCCESSFUL AT FINDING THE CAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS.
THIS VEHICLE SIMPLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING WHICH DISABLES POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES MAKING IT EXTREMELY DANGERS. I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE ALSO. ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN HANDLED BY MY DEALERSHIP. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I SIMPLY COASTED TO A STOP (NO TRAFFIC THANK GOODNESS) AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, CLICKED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, WAITING 15 SECONDS, STARTED VEHICLE AGAIN AND DROVE AWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY GUARANTEE ISSUED ON THE 2005-2006 MODELS THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED JOE MACHENS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT (1310 VANDIVER DR, COLUMBIA, MO 65202, (573) 234-4141) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000. *DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE WAS TRADED IN. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE VAN SHUTS DOWN. NO WARNING OR SIGNAL. JUST SHUT OFF. THEN RESTARTS AFTER TURNING THE KEY.
WENT TO START CAR IN THE MORNING WOULD NOT START UP, SO I AS NEIGHBORS FOR A JUMP .IT TOOK AWHILE BUT STARTED. DRIVE FOR AWHILE GOT BATTERY CHECKED IT WAS GOOD. CAME HOME AND CUT THE CAR OFF TRIED TO START AGAIN, WOULD NOT START. GOT ANOTHER JUMP AND WAS GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP, CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE DRIVING. I WAS NERVOUS CAUSE CARS WAS BEHIND ME AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT. SAT FOR AWHILE AND GOT ANOTHER JUMP WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK HOME. FROM MY READING IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THE THE TIMP ISSUE THAT'S GOING ON WITH THESE VANS. I JUST PURCHASED MY VAN A WEEK AGO AND HAVEN'T ENJOYED IT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.
GEAR SHIFTER DOESN'T RELEASE KEY IN PARK, KEY WON'T COME OUT OF IGNITION. HAVE TO TAP GEAR SHIFTER TO RELEASE KEY.
ENGINE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND FAILS TO START WHEN TURNING KEY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE REVERSING, THE VEHICLE STALLED, BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE KEY FOB NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM MOBILE (3118 GOVERNMENT BLVD, MOBILE, AL 36606, (251) 202-2253) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIN MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,198.
MY VEHICLE WILL MOVE FREELY THROUGH GEARS, MY FOOT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE BRAKE TO MOVE IT OUT OF PARK. ALSO, THE KEY FOB WILL NOT GO IN TO THE IGNITION BUT I CAN STILL START CAR WITHOUT KEY FOB GOING COMPLETELY IN. I CONTACTED ZIMMER IN BURLINGTON KY AND THEY DID NOT KNOW OF ANY RECALLS AND THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
THE HI/LOW BEAMS ON MY VAN WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF DUE TO A FAULTY TIPM. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON THE WAY TO THE ER IN ANOTHER TOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BECAUSE MY SON WAS SEVERELY SICK. WE COULD HAVE ALL DIED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE! WE DROVE BLIND FOR A SHORT BIT WHILE I SLOWED DOWN AND CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE. EVENTUALLY, THEY HAVE QUIT WORKING ALTOGETHER.
IN ATTEMPTING TO TURN NORTH ON TO ROUTE 29 FROM THE KROGER GAS STATION IN CHILICOTHE, IL THE VEHICLE ENTIRELY SHUT DOWN WHEN PARTIALLY THROUGH THE TURN. THE LIGHTING TURNED OFF, THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, AND POWER STEERING DID NOT OPERATE. I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, AND ATTEMPTED TO THE VEHICLE. IT STARTED BUT INSTANTANEOUSLY SHUT DOWN AGAIN. I ATTEMPTED ONCE MORE AND IT STARTED AND I QUICKLY SHIFTED INTO DRIVE TO AVOID BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE 2 LANE ROADWAY.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN LOSING POWER SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE ISSUE OCCURS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, ROAD CONDITIONS, AFTER VARIOUS RUNNING TIMES. WHEN POWER IS LOST THE LIGHTS FAIL TO OPERATE, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPS, SIGNALS DONT WORK, STEERING IS MINIMAL. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS TAKEN TO ONLY PROVIDED A FAILING EGR VALVE AS A DIAGNOSIS WITH AN ESTIMATE OF OVER $700. HOWEVER, RESEARCH DID NOT INDICATE THAT WOULD RESOLVE THE SUDDEN SHUT-OFF. I TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE GARAGE AFTER NOTICING THE ENGINE TENDED TO SHUT DOWN WHEN THE KEYS SEEMS TO BE TOUCHED. I WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE REINFORCING MY ASSUMPTION. THE SHOP REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE (AS HAS BEEN RECALLED WITH OTHER TOWN AND COUNTRY VEHICLES) AND I HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE ISSUE. THE FAILING IGNITION MODULE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE IN THOUSANDS OF VEHICLE AND THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED.
WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE ON THE IGNITION STAYS IN THE "START" MODE. WILL CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER WITH NO RESULTS. AFTER TURNING OFF AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WILL EVENTUALLY TURN OVER. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME YOU GET INTO THE VEHICLE. HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR THE LAST MONTH OR SO - MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS 6/10/2019. BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER HAVE ALL CHECKED OUT TO BE FINE.
VEHICLE'S SYSTEM (ELECTRICAL, MOTOR, STEERING) SHUTS DOWN WHILE IN OPERATION. LIGHTS DO NOT FUNCTION, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, BRAKING IS LIMITED. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT FILED (11166442). WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER, IF THE KEY FOB IS TOUCHED, THE VEHICLE MAY REGAIN POWER SUDDENLY.
IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER FAILED. KEY FELL OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS DRIVING. NOW THE KEY WILL NOT TURN TO OFF AND REMAINS IN ON OR START. UPON RESEARCH THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN AUGUST 3, 2009, THROUGH JUNE 17, 2010. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN OCTOBER OF 2010, YET HAS THE SAME ISSUES COVERED IN PREVIOUS RECALLS.
OUR VEHICLE WAS MADE IN AUGUST OF 2010 AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL. WE ARE EXPERIENCING INADVERTENT IGNITION KEY DISPLACEMENT FROM THE RUN TO ACCESSORY POSITION WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING. I FEAR OF AN ACCIDENT AND HARM TO OTHERS INCLUDING MY FAMILY.
THE IGNITION SWITCH CONTACTS BURNT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN AND NO POWER TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE MOTOR WAS RUNNING STATIONARY WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH BURNT AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE A GRINDING NOISE EVERY TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS FOR THE FRONT WHEELS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS WOULD BE THE FOURTH REPAIR FOR THE FRONT ROTORS AND PADS THIS YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE KEY TURNED IN THE IGNITION; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO EDDY'S CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (11028 W KELLOGG DR, WICHITA, KS 67209) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW IGNITION SWITCH WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V134000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY CUT POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO DRIVE I SLOWLY COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IN DRIVE AGAIN BUT STILL THE GAS PETAL WAS NOT HAVING ANY EFFECT. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART TO GET GOING AGAIN. THE VAN IS NEW TO US AND HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE THREE DAYS WE'VE OWNED IT. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS IT IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND I CAN EASILY SEE HOW THIS UNEXPECTED EVENT COULD CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION.
WHILE DRIVING (NO MATTER THE SPEED) MY VAN WILL JUST SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I LOOSE EVERYTHING INCLUDING FLASHERS TO WARN OTHER VEHICLES OF A PROBLEM AND MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I AM USUALLY UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINS DEPENDING ON HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR THE KEY TO BE RELEASED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON CITY ROADS AND ON HIGHWAYS. I HAVE BEEN TO A MACHANIC MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS ISSUES AND PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO FIXING IT. THEY ARE NOW LOOKING AT THE IGNITION BECAUSE HE FEELS IT'S RELATED TO MY IGNITION.
MY 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HAS EXPERIENCED THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM RELATED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL (R03). MY VEHICLE DATE FALLS WITHIN THE STATED INCLUDED VEHICLE DATES ON YOUR WEBSITE, YET MY VEHICLE ID BRINGS UP NO RECALLS! THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED OPERATING WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, HIGHWAY, AND DURING A TURN TO EXIT A HIGHWAY. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT CAUSED A CRASH. THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL EVEN AS YOUR WEBSITE SHOWS THAT IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED. THIS HAS BEEN ON ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, AS THIS IS THE SECOND RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY EVEN EXPANDED THE YEARS OF CARS INCLUDED FOR THE SECOND RECALL, YET MY VEHICLE WITH A MANUFACTURE DATE WITHIN BOTH RECALLS DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR EITHER FIX. WHY SHOULD THEY NOT CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION THEY HAVE PUT US IN WHEN THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS VERY THING? NO ONE HAS EXPLAINED TO ME WHY THIS VEHICLE IS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. CURRENTLY THE CAR WILL NOT START AT ALL. IT NEEDS THE IGNITION SWITCH THIS RECALL WOULD REPLACE. IT WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE FOR ME TO COVER THE COST OF REPLACEMENT, AND THE R03 RECALL HAS ESTABLISHED IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART. WHAT AM I TO DO?
I EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING ISSUE WHICH IS ADDRESSED IN A RECALL HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I REPLACED THE PART, OUT OF POCKET, AND AM ATTEMPTING TO RECOUP THE COST. I TOOK THE VAN TO A DODGE/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THE VAN SHOWED NO CODES, ETC TO INDICATE THE ISSUE. I SIMPLY WENT OUT ON A LIMB TO GUESS IF THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE RECEIPTS SHOWING PURCHASE FOR THE REPAIR. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED. MY FAMILY WAS IN DANGER EVERY TIME WE DROVE AND CHRYSLER REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!! ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN TRAVELING AROUND 25MPH OR SLOWER. BASICALLY I HIT 25 (SPEED LIMIT IN TOWN) THEN COAST AND LET FOOT OFF GAS WHEN I DO THIS THE ENGINE STOPS. TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON OR I NOTICE POWER STEERING IS GONE. I QUICKLY MUST SHIFT INTO NUETRAL IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VAN. IF I AM NOT FAST ENOUGH I DONT HAVE BREAKS EITHER. I HAVE LEARNED TO TREAT VAN LIKE A STICK SHIFT. THIS HAPPENS MANY TIMES WHEN TAKING KIDS TO SCHOOL. SOMETIMES AS MUCH AS ONCE A WEEK. I CHECKED RECALLS
THE FOLLOWING HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE LAST OCCURRENCE WAS 4/12/19. ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES ONCE I START DRIVING, THE BRAKES LOCK UP, THE WHEEL LOCKS, THE VAN STALLS, AND THE ORANGE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON. I TURN THE CAR OFF, PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN RESTART IT. AFTER RESTARTING, IT DRIVES OK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 15 TIMES SINCE NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS. ON 4/18/19, THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. CODES FOUND WERE P1790 AND C121C. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND HE SAID IF THE PROBLEM REOCCURS THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE IS FAULTY. THE FIRST MECHANIC ALSO MADE SOME REPAIRS. I'VE SPENT OVER $1000 TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THERE'S OVER 800 ISSUES ON THIS WEBSITE OF THIS ISSUE. WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO GET AN INVESTIGATION OPENED?

FLAGLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (5925 FL-100, PALM COAST, FL 32164, (386) 437-4141) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
DRIVING STRAIGHT 15 MPH ON RESIDENTIAL STREET, AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE WENT FROM AROUND 1000 RPM TO ZERO RPM.
WHILE DRIVING THE VAN WILL JUST SHUT OFF/STALL WITH NO WARNING. WHICH THEN LOCKS THE STEERING EVEN IF IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING. ITS VERY DANGEROUS.WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY CANT FIGURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS BECAUSE WHATEVER IT IS IS NOT THROWING A CODE. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME ITS DRIVEN.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OXYGEN SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON, POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL STALL. WHILE STATIONARY AND ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON BUT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. BOTH ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY NOW. THE STARTER AND WIRING HARNESS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I WILL ENTER THE MOST RECENT DATE OF OCCURRENCE.
VAN RANDOMLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING, LOST ALL POWER STEERING CONTROL AND POWER ASSISTED BRAKE CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENS RANDOMLY OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS. VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD LEAD TO DEATH IF IT RESULTED IN A CRASH. HAS ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION, HAS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AT LOW SPEEDS, AND WHEN TURNING.
MY CAR STEREO KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF, HARDLY EVER STAYS ON LONG ENOUGH TO LISTEN OR WATCH ANYTHING LONGER THAN MAYBE 5 MINS. PERIODICALLY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. IT'S AN EVERYDAY PROBLEM.
