WILL NOT START. MULTIPLE PROBLEMS. RECALL ALREADY ISSUED FOR OTHER YEARS/MODELS. NEED TO EXPAND RECALL!!! NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH OR A TRANSMISSION GEAR INDICATOR IS BAD, CAR JUST CLICKS WHEN KEY IS TURNED. VERY EXPENSIVE SO FAR TO DIAGNOSE. IT WAS NOT THE STARTER. MAYBE THE STARTER FOR SOME PEOPLE. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE TO COVER ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME FIRM, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIVONIA CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 30777 PLYMOUTH RD, LIVONIA, MI 48150, (734) 525-5000. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WAS NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AT A STOP SIGN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE TO HER DESTINATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED LATER AND THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED AND WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
THE VAN JUST TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE FOB MOVES TO THE ACC POSITION. THIS HAS BECOME A MAJOR PROBLEM IN THE LAST 4 DAYS. FEB 17TH - 19TH 2019.
FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW THE VAN WILL SOMETIMES NOT START, EVEN IF STARTING IT BACK UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER JUST DRIVING IT. IT HAS DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING WITH NO STEERING CAPABILITIES, IT HESITATES WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH. I NEVER KNOW IF IT'S GOING TO START BACK UP AFTER I SHUT IT OFF, OR WHEN IT'S JUST GOING TO DECIDE TO LOCK UP AND DIE WHILE DRIVING.
COMPLETE VEHICLE SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING; ONCE ON RESIDENTIAL STREET AND THEN AGAIN WHEN ENTERING SCHOOL PARKING LOT FOUR DAYS LATER. DEALERSHIP PULLED ONLY ONE CODE: C121C "TORQUE REQUEST SIGNAL DENIED".
CARS IGNITION IS SHUTTING OFF RANDOMLY AND NOT STARTING INTERMITTENTLY ALSO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, THE CONTACT RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TWICE, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND BEGAN TO ROLL. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RINALDI CHRYSLER DODGE TRUCK & JEEP INC, LOCATED AT 650 GOLD STAR HWY, SHENANDOAH, PA 17976, (570) 462-2713, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE SWITCHING THE VEHICLE TO THE OFF OR ACCESSORY POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,243. CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DIVING. LOSE ENGINE POWER, BRAKES, POWER STEERING. LAST INSTANCE WAS WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH.
REAR A/C WENT BAD. THE ELEMENT IN REAR OF VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A PROTECTIVE COVER TO PREVENT WATER DAMAGE. VERY EXPENSIVE FIX. PLEASE ISSUE RECALL!!!!
OUR 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING 4.0L V6 HAS NOW, ON 7 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, ALL POWER IS LOST...ELECTRICAL, ENGINE, LIGHTS, AND THE ABILITY TO STEER AND USE BRAKES...EVERYTHING.
WHILE DRIVING VAN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF NO POWER NO MOTOR NO STEERING. VAN CONTINUED TO TURN ON AN OFF LIGHTS TURNED ON AN OFF ON THERE OWN. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES HAD PROBLEM FIXED JUST TO COMPLETELY DIED AGAIN SAME ISSUES. THIS VAN HAS COST ME ALOT IN REPAIRS AND RENTALS AN TOWS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE WITH MY KIDS KNOWING IT CAN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING WITH OUT WARNING AT ANYTIME .
VAN WILL JUST SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS. HAVE HAD THE RECALL FIXED TWICE BUT PROBLEM STILL HASN'T STOPPED. DOESN'T IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE VAN IS COLD OR WARM OR WHAT SPEED. IT HAS DONE IT ON THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH. DEALER CAN NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM HAD IF FOR 3 WEEKS IN THE SHOP. I CAN NOT KEEP DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IF NO ONE CAN FIND WHAT IS WRONG. CHRYSLER BUILT THE CAR WHY CAN'T THEY FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG.
I HAVE A TOWN AND COUNTRY 2010 AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP OFF AND ON FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS. VAN STARTED STALLING AND JERKING AND CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC SCARED ME TO DEATH. WAS TOLD THE TIPM SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE. CHRYSLER NEED TO RECALL THIS VAN BEFORE SOMEONE ID KILLED NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT ALL
SHUTS DOWN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AND LOSES POWER STEERING, DIFFICULT TO STOP. OCCURS IN ANY CONDITION OR SPEED. SOMETIMES TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON RIGHT BEFOREHAND. INABILITY TO CONTROL VEHICLE AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. HAS OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AND WHEN TURNING. HAS OCCURRED AT LOW SPEED AND HIGH SPEED. HAS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. I JUST CHOSE ONE DATE BUT IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE NEAR MISSES OF CRASHING OR BEING HIT WHILE VEHICLE.
MY VAN WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD NO WARNING JUST SHUTS OFF AND YOU LOOSE YOUR BREAKS AND STEERING IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT HAS TO BE AN ISSUE I HAVE SEEN THAT IT IS ON RECALL FOR OTHER MODELS I HAVE HAD TO PARK MY VAN BECAUSE IT IS A DANGER TO DRIVE SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE AND POWER SEATS BLOWS FUSE EVERY TIME I PUT NEW FUSE IN HIT THE DRIVER SIDE POWER SEATS BLOWS INSTANTLY
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING
WHEN I START THE CAR THE HEAD LIGHTS COME ON FOR A SECOND AND GO OUT .I RESTARTED THE CAR A COUPLE TIMES AND IT WORKED BUT NO LONGER
SINCE PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ERRATIC NO STARTS, CAUTION LIGHTS ILLUMINATE, WIPERS ACTIVATE, HORN SOUND OFF, AND AN ARRAY OF OTHER ELECTRICAL BUGS. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES WITH COULD NOT DUPLICATE ACTIONS, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS STICKING UNDER THE PEDAL CONTACTING A SENSOR CAUSING THE NO START ISSUES, WHICH IS DOCUMENTED ON THEIR SERVICE REPORT. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE DEALT WITH THE ISSUES AS THEY WERE SPORADIC. NOW, THE NO START CONDITION HAS LED TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIPM UNIT AS WELL AS 2 FUEL PUMPS. IT WAS TOWED TODAY FOR THE SAME FAULTY CONDITIONS THAT LED TO THE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. WHILE WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL BUGS WHILE MOVING, THE MAJORITY OF OUR ISSUES HAVE INVOLVED NO MOVEMENT AS THE MOST COMMON ISSUE IS THE NO START CONDITION. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP THE LAST 3 WEEKS, REQUIRED TWO TOWS, AND IS CONTINUOUSLY BURNING UP FUEL PUMPS. CHRYSLER HAS NOT MODIFIED/RE-ENGINEERED THEIR TIPM UNIT ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP AS THE PART NUMBER HAS NEVER CHANGED. I AM CONCERNED THAT I HAVE ANOTHER FAULTY TIPM MODULE CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE, WHICH HAS DECREASED THE RELIABILITY. ALL OF MY RECEIPTS ARE IN THE GLOVE BOX OF THE VEHICLE WHICH IS SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP, SO I CANNOT UPLOAD THE DOCUMENTS SHOWING THE REPAIRS RIGHT NOW.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RECALLS AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
VEHICLE 'COMPLETELY' SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL. IT HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THIS MONTH (1/5/19 & 1/10/19), AND BOTH TIMES IT HAS CREATED AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION, FOR EACH TIME I WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS. THE MOTOR ALSO HAS A CONSTANT JERKING FEELING AT LOWER SPEEDS.
TOOK CAR TO HILLTOP CHRYSLER ON12/3/18FOR RECALL.WAS TOLD THAT THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED,IT WAS ON BACK ORDER.CALLED BACK A FEW DAYS LATER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS STILL ON BACKORDER.RAY HAD NO SENSE OF URGENCY BECAUSE THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL THAT INVOLVES THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING.I THEN CONTACTED YOU GUYS AND SPOKE WITH A YOUNG LADY WHO WAS DYNAMIC IN HELPING ME OUT.SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND THAT RAY MADE A MISTAKE AND ORDERED THE WRONG PART.THE RECALL WAS FINALLY DONE ON THE 12/18/18,(GUS) BUT A COUPLE DAYS LATER I STARTED TO NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK WOULDN'T RESPOND TO THE KEY FOB AND NEITHER DID MY LIFT GATE.THE KEYFOB IS SUPPOSED TO BE PROGRAMMED TO WORK WITH MY CAR AND IT'S NOT COMMUNICATING PROPERLY. I TOOK IT TO THE MICHAEL STEAD HILLTOP DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING 1/3/19 TO HAVE THEM TAKE A LOOK AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR.HE STATED THAT THEY GET PEOPLE COMING BACK AFTER A RECALL SAYING THIS AND THAT IS BROKEN AND WANT IT REPAIRED. HE ALSO BROUGHT THE"MASTER TECH"OUT TO EXPLAIN TO US.THE TECH STATED THAT HE KNOWS THEY DID NOTHING WRONG BECAUSE THE RECALL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DOORS, IT'S CONNECTED TO THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT.HE SAID THE RECALL WAS TO FIX IT WHERE THE KEY WOULDN'T FALL OUT OF THE IGNITION.(NOT WHAT THE RECALL WAS ABOUT)HE ALSO STATED THAT EVEN AFTER PROGRAMMING THE KEY FOB TO WORK WITH THE CAR, IT WOULD BE A COINCIDENCE THAT THE DRIVER LOCK AND GATE LIFT DOESN'T WORK AND WE WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.HE STARTED TO TALK ABOUT THE RECALL WAS TO DO WITH BCM HE IMPLIED THAT,WE DID SOMETHING WRONG AND SOMETHING TO DO WITH TIME FRAME(DON'T KNOW WHAT A BCM IS) PRIOR TO THE RECALL WE HAD NO KEY FOB AND HAD TO MANUALLY OPEN WITH A KEY AND LOCK THE DOORS BY PUSHING THE BUTTON DOWN.ALL DOORS INCLUDING THE GATE WORKED AND WITH BUTTONS THAT AUTOMATICALLY OPENS&CLOSE.
AS I DRIVE DOWN THE STREET AND HIT A BUMP OR UNEVEN SURFACE THE VAN SHUTS OFF AND I LOSE ALL STEERING POWER AND ELECTRICAL POWER. THIS IS VERY FRIGHTENING BECAUSE IT COULD HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A STREET OR FREEWAY GOING 60+ MILES PER HOUR.
CHRYSLER OFFICIAL DEALER DOES NOT ACCEPT A CLAIM TO REPLACE THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE ACCORDING TO NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 14V-373. MY CAR WAS BOUGHT IN USA, BUT NOW REGISTERED IN LITHUANIA...*BF*JB
ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. STEERING MECHANISM COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. PULLED OVER BEST AS WE COULD AND RESTARTED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY IN THE FOBIK WAS DEPLETED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED USING THE SECONDARY FOBIK. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD SINCE RECEIVED A SECOND RECALL NOTIFICATION, WHICH STATED THAT THE PART USED TO REPAIR VEHICLES PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS) WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE. MOTOR MILE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 2395 ROANOKE ST, CHRISTIANSBURG, VA 24073, (540) 381-8417) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. DASHBOARD LIGHTS STILL WORK BUT DRIVER IS UNABLE TO STEER AND CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP. WILL RESTART ONCE IN PARK. VEHICLE WAS GOING 30MPH ON A CITY STREET. ALL RECALL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. DEALERSHIP NOR LOCAL SHOPS CAN DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE.

ENGINE CUTOFF WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. ALL FUNCTIONS WENT DEAD EXCEPT FOR LIGHTS. UNABLE TO REMOVE KEY FOB FROM IGNITION AND UNABLE TO RESTART CAR. NOTICED BLOWN FUSE. WHEN FUSE REPLACED IT BLEW IMMEDIATELY UPON TRYING TO RESTART CAR.

ON THE DRIVENG THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COME ON THE STEERING WENT OUT AND BRKES WENT OUT I CAN NOT CONTROL ANYTHING
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, ESP LIGHT COMES ON. MY CAR SHUTS DOWN ON BOTH STREET AND HIGHWAY AND IN MOTION.
HEADLIGHTS FLICKER THEN TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. DOES NOT TURN BACK ON EVEN IF YOU TURN ON AND OFF.
IT BEGAN WITH THE FRONT WIPERS COMING ON (AS IF IT WAS RAINING) ON A SUNNY DAY.. AND THE SWITCH WOULDN'T SHUT IT OFF. HAVE TO PULL THE FUSE TO GET THEM TO STOP. THEN THIS PROGRESSED INTO NOT CRANKING, AS IF DEAD BATTERY. I BELIEVE MY PROBLEM IS IN THE KEYLESS SWITCH.. AS THE BATTERY IS NEW, AND I'VE HAD BOTH BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED. BOTH OK!

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REEDMAN TOLL AUTO WORLD (1700 E LINCOLN HWY, LANGHORNE, PA 19047, (877) 702-7807) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE AND KEY FOB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED WITH CASE NUMBER: 57579330. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,494.
WHEN DRIVING, THE ENGINE SWITCH TURNS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THERE IS A RECALL WITH SELECTED VIN NUMBERS WITH THIS ISSUE BUT NOT OURS. THE RECALL IS CHRYSLER RECALL R03 (FORMERLY L25). WE WOULD LIKE OUR VIN NUMBER TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST.
THE VAN WILL SHUT OFF DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT LOCKS THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. IT HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES. IT HAS LEFT MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF AT RISK OF GETTING HIT BECAUSE I LOOSE CONTROL OF EVERYTHING. I CAN'T EVEN TURN ON HAZARD LIGHTS TO WARN PEOPLE OF VEHICLE NOT WORKING.
4.0 L V6 ENGINE 1) WHILE TURNING RIGHT FROM A STOP ONTO HIGHWAY, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. - I DROVE INTO THE PASSING LANE, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN THAT LANE AT THE TIME. SO THE CAR WAS SPEEDING UP 10/30/18 TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BRIEFLY ON 2) CAR IN MOTION, DECELLING FROM 35 MPH, TURNING LEFT ACROSS ON COMING TRAFFIC, THE POWER STEERING & THE POWER BREAKS WENT OUT. HARD TO TURN & HARD TO BREAK, BARELY STOPPED IN TIME. HAD TO TURN OFF & BACK ON AGAIN 11/17/18 TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BRIEFLY ON 3) FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS, THERE HAVE BEEN OCCASIONS WHERE MY CAR WOULD NOT START UNTIL LIKE THE 7 OR 10TH TURN OVER OF THE FOB. CAR NOT IN MOTION
ENGINE STALLING AT LOW SPEEDS AND MID RANGE SPEED. PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL COAST AND IT RESTARTS. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIGHT UP. DOES NOT HAPPEN DAILY. IT HAPPENS ON SUBDIVISION STREETS AND CITY STREETS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE NOV. 2018.
I OWN A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY AND FOR 3 MONTHS WE HAVE BEEN LIVING A NIGHTMARE. IT POWERS DOWN WHILE WE ARE DRIIVNG IT, WE LOSE STEERING AND BREAKS. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, WITH CARS BEHIND US, ON HILLS AND COASTED BACKWARDS AND WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VAN WITH ME. IT HAS SPENT 3 MONTHS IN AND OUT OF SEVERAL GARAGES. IT HAS HAD NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED, SUCH AS THE BATTERY, ABS MODULE, AND THE PCM. EVEN AFTER ALL THESE PARTS WERE REPLACED AND WE HAVE SPENT QUITE A BIT OF MONEY TO HAVE THEM FIXED IT STILL DOENS'T RUN PROPERLY AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING IT. IT IS SUCH A SAFETY CONCERN THAT WE WON'T ALLOW ARE CHILDREN TO RIDE IN IT. SO I OWN $10,000 ON A VAN THAT I CANT TAKE OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE IT ISN'T SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER WITH MY VIN NUMBER AND THEY SAY THERE ARE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE CURRENTLY AND NO RECALLS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN SATISFIED. SO I HAVE A LOAN PAYMENT AND AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH NO RESOLUTION ANYWHERE IN SIGHT.
THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MILES PER HOUR, DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, NOT TURNING, ON CITY STREET. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING SMOOTHLY UNTIL IT QUIT. AFTER ROLLING TO A STOP, I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. IT RAN SMOOTHLY WITHOUT PROBLEM UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY.
MY EXACT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF VAN HAD A RECALL FOR THE 'WIN MODULE' BECAUSE OF IGNITION PROBLEMS. BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T FALL INTO 'THOSE AFFECTED' BY THE FAULTY WIN MODULE, THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF IT. THE VAN WILL FAIL TO TURN OVER OR START COMPLETELY OR WILL START AND THEN SHUT OFF LEAVING MY FAMILY STRANDED. CHRYSLER IS THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THE SAME OTHER VANS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND NEEDS TO INCLUDE THE OTHERS AFFECTED BY IT. I'VE PERSONALLY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, AND KEY FOB AND HAVE COME TO REALIZE IT'S THE WIN MODULE THAT WAS RECALLED FOR THESE SAME EXACT ISSUES ON OTHER VANS.

JASON LEWIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (120 AUTO LN, SPARTA, TN 38583, 931-738-9275) PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT FOUND NO FAILURE. ANOTHER UNKNOWN DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THE SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT A NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM MAY NEED TO BE INSTALLED AT THE COST OF $2,500 IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,200.
While driving my van would shut off. It would always crank again. This began happening in 2018. No warning lamps or indicators went off. The van just died. I could not tie it to any particular road conditions. I eventually quit driving the van because I realized it to be unsafe. I could not jeopardize the lives of others or my grandchildren.The local Chrysler dealer could not diagnose a problem so they could fix nothing. The same scenario happened with a local mechanic. I recently took it to different mechanics who explored the ignition switch as an issue.

ONCE THE GEAR WAS ENGAGED IN REVERSE OR DRIVE, THE CLICKING SOUND WENT AWAY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. OCCASIONALLY, THE ENGINE WOULD STILL RUN WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. ORCHARD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (64600 VAN DYKE, WASHINGTON, MI 48095, (586) 336-0200) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,400.
I BOUGHT A VEHICLE 3 DAYS AGO. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TIRES SOUNDING LIKE IT WAS WOBBLING. I TOLD THE OWNER AND OTHER EMPLOYEES THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HEAR IT BUT HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AND THE ROTORS TURNED. I RAN MY KIDS TO BASKETBALL PRACTICE AND LATER ON THAT NIGHT THE TIRE SOUNDS GOT WORSE AND WE'RE MUCH LOUDER. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND JUST TURNED INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE FLEW OFF. THE TIRE AND RIM WE'RE TRAVELING THROUGH A YARD AT 30+ MPH. I SLAMMED TO THE GROUND AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TERRIFIYNG. THE FLYING TIRE AND RIM WOULD HAVE FATALLY INJURED SOMEONE IF THIS WAS IN THE DAYTIME HOURS.
