1) Dash board lite up like a christmas tree, would not turn over. 2) Next time no lights would come on, completely dead. Turning the key over did nothing, no lights. Key would also get stuck in the ignition 3) They determined it was the powertrain control PCM 4) Originally the part was like $800, they messed on troubleshooting (fried my battery). They knocked the price of the part down to $517
CAR STALLS AND SHUTS OFF, CAR CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST 24 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING IT WILL UNEXPECTED SHUT OFF, THIS IS A PROBLEM RELATED TO THE TIPM WHICH HAS BEEN RECALLED IN OTHER 2011 MODEL VEHICLES SUCH AS THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE DURANGO. I HAVE READ FORUMS WHERE OTHER 2011 TOWN AND COUNTRYS ALSO HAD THIS SAME ISSUE.
THIS MUST BE A RECALL CONCERN. CHRYSLER REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS TIPM ISSUE. THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE TIPM THAT PREVENTED THE ENGINE FROM STARTING. THIS VAN FAILS WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. TODAY 1-4-21, THE VAN IS AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN AND AGAIN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THE TOWN & COUNTRY WOULD BE RUNNING SMOOTHLY ONE DAY AND FAIL TO START THE NEXT DAY. WHY RECALL CONCERNING THEM WAS NEVER ISSUED????
LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. TOWED HOME. TRIED TO START AND WOULDN'T TURN OVER. COULD ONLY START IN NUTURAL DROVE TO DEALERSHIP COUKDNT TURN OFF OR WOULDNT START. DIAGNOSED AS THE TIP WENT OUT.
THERE IS A BUZZING NOISE IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR THAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN I OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OR UNLOCK THE DOORS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT DEAD BATTERIES AND NO START ISSUES. HAD VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AS WELL TO FUEL PUMP SHUTTING DOWN. AFTER DIAGNOSTIC FOUND THE FUEL PUMP WAS STAYING ON AFTER KEY WAS REMOVED KILLING THE BATTERY. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH A BAD TIPM MODULE THAT HAD BEEN UNDER A RECALL ON THE PREVIOUS YEARS TOWN AND COUNTRY. CALLED THE DEALER TODAY ANS WAS TOLD ON THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY SPECIFIC VIN.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start-up. In addition, there was an abnormal exploding noise coming from the vehicle while driving approximately 40 to 50 MPH. The contact mentioned that the windshield wipers failed to operate occasionally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that wireless ignition and WIN module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WON'T START AND IS STALLING OUT / DYING WHEN GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY
CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY AND DODGE MINIVAN HAVE AN ACTUATOR THAT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS THE REAR SLIDING DOORS. THE SAME PART IS USED FOR BOTH SIDES, IT JUST NEEDS AN ARM ON IT DEPENDING ON THE SIDE. THE DEFECT IS THAT WHEN THESE ACTUATORS GO OUT, IT WILL EITHER NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO LOCK, OR PERMANENTLY LOCKE THE DOOR AT ANY TIME AND REMAIN LOCKED UNTIL IT IS FIXED. **IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND THE ACTUATOR BROKEN IN THE LOCKED POSITION THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR OPERATE (INSIDE OR OUTSIDE). IT IS IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR IN ANYWAY UNLESS TAKING OFF THE INSIDE PANEL AND GETTING INSIDE TO THE LOCK MECHANISM. IF THE DOOR IS IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION AND YOU WERE UNAWARE THAT THE ACTUATOR IS BROKEN IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION AND YOU THINK IT'S LOCKED AND YOU LEAVE YOUR CHILD IN THERE TO RUN INTO THE HOUSE SOMEBODY COULD OPEN THE DOOR AND STEAL ANYTHING OUT OF YOUR CAR INCLUEDING A CHILD. WHEN THE ACTUATOR BRAKES IN THE UNLOCK POSITION YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS BROKEN. HOWEVER WHEN IT BREAKS IN THE LOCK POSITION IT IS IMMEDIATE AND WITHOUT WARNING AS WELL. WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT MY DOOR WAS LOCKED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS WHEN I WENT TO GET MY DOG OUT OF MY BACK SEAT AND IT WAS BROKEN.I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP ON THE INTERNET AND THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD TO CHECK BOTH DOORS AND FOUND MY MY PASSENGER SIDE WAS PERMANENTLY UNLOCKED.

THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NEWBERRY MOTORS, INC. (1227 NEWBERRY AVE, NEWBERRY, MI 49868, (906) 293-5104) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE WITH FILING A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
FUEL PUMP RELAY IS STUCK RESULTING IN CONTINUOUS PUMP RUNNING CAUSING DEAD BATTERY OVERNIGHT AND VEHICLE NOT STARTING.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR VEHICLE DOWN A COUNTY ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR WHEN SUDDENLY WHAT SEEMED LIKE ALL OF THE INDICATOR AND WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. SHE PULLED OFF INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD TO TRY AND TURN AROUND TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. AS SHE CAME AROUND THE CIRCLE DRIVE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND APPROACHED THE STOP SIGN BEFORE THE COUNTY ROAD, THE VEHICLE COMPLETED DIED. THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION IT WAS SO DEAD. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). THE UNSAFE CONDITION WAS THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE COMPLETELY DIED AND LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ETC., WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTY ROAD AT 40 MILES PER HOUR IN TRAFFIC, IF MY WIFE WOULD NOT HAVE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE MAIN ROAD INTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. WHILE WAITING FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED, I HAD TO WAVE ON TRAFFIC EXITING THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND IT CREATED AN UNSAFE SITUATION FOR TRAFFIC COMING IN TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT THE SAME TIME.
TIPM IS CAUSING MY VAN NOT TO START, STALKS GOING DOWN THE ROAD
ENTIRE VAN SHUTS OFF! THIS IS EXACTLY LIKE THE RECALL FROM ONE YEAR EARLIER, IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY WON'T THEY INCREASE THE YEARS ON THIS AND SAVE SOME PROBLEMS.
VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. ENGINE IS OFF. ALL POWER IS LOST. THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT WHEN DRIVING DUE TO LOSS OF POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ENGINE POWER ETC. THE CAR WILL RESTART WITH NO ISSUES SHOWN ON THE FAULT CODES. OBD HAS NO RECORD OF A PROBLEM. VERY INTERMITTENT, VERY DANGEROUS. SEEMS THE SAME AS THE RECALL THAT COVERED UP TO THE PREVIOUS YEAR. MANY PEOPLE CLAIM THE SAME ISSUE.

CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS NO LIGHTS OR POWER. IT STARTED ON A JUMP, BUT BEGAN SMOKING. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT STARTS SMOKING EVERY TIME YOU RUN IT AND THE BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAD IT TOWED, AS IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE ALTERNATOR, BUT IT IS GOOD THE MECHANIC SAYS IT MUST BE THE COMPUTER AND SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP/
THE VEHICLES BATTERY DIED DUE TO A FAULTY TIPM. AFTER A JUMP START IT WILL RUN BUT ONCE THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND SITTING FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR THE VEHLICE WILL TURN OVER, DIE, THEN WILL CRANK AND NOT TURN OVER FOR A WHILE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS IS HAPPENING WITH THIS VEHICLE IT HAS A LITTLE LET THAN 70,000 MILES.
I CANNOT GET IT TO START, IT WON'T TURN OVER. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD CAME ON INCLUDING THE IGNITION LIGHT. THE BATTERY IS NEW, SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, HE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT INITIALLY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC; THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HIS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. DESPITE THE VEHICLE NOT BEING DIAGNOSED, THE CONTACT LINKED HIS FAILURE TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
THE ACTUATOR FAILED ON THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY STUCK AND WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY MAKING DRIVING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
WHEN LOCKING AND UNLOCKING DOOR LOUD BUZZING SOUND
WIFE WAS DRIVING. THEN ENGINE WENT TO FULL THROTTLE, WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. SHE RODE THE BRAKES ALL THE WAY HOME, SWITCHED FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE, VAN WOULD JUMP INTO GEAR WHEN SHE WOULD SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE, FELT LIKE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING WELL ENOUGH (PROBABLY GLAZED). ALMOST WRECKED, COULD HARDLY STOP. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
FUEL RELAY ON TIPM IS FAULTY RESULTING IN NOT STARTING AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BY A RECALL. *TR
THE VAN HAS DRAINED A NEW BATTERY IN TWO DAYS. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEIR ROOM'S FROM THIS MODEL YEAR. I HAVE SUGGESTED THEY LOOK AT THE FUEL PUMP TURNING ON EVEN THOUGH A KEY HAS NOT BEEN USED TO START VEHICLE AND TO LOOK AT THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE. SEEMS I HAVE TO DO THE INVESTIGATIVE WORK AND INCUR ALL THE COST. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY VEHICLE FOR OVER A WEEK NOW. *TR
LOSING ALL ELECTRICAL WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AND THEN COMES BACK ON WITH EVERYTHING RESET . HAPPENS 1-2X PER WEEK. *TR
I don't know much about vehicles. So when I get the obd scanned to make sure things are good to sell my van and it throws back many error codes, I was surprised. I thought the vibration/shaking was minor or just because I only had 4 out 6 engine mounts replaced. I was told the tipm was bad, the transmission, the tire pressure sensors don't work. The eco drive doesn't work. I was told that there was a problem with mine that was recalled but only on half of the vehicles and my vin wasn't one of them recalled even though it's the same problem. I was told the main fuse panel under the hood needs replaced. From what I was told, all the needed repairs will cost about as much as I paid for the vehicle itself. There have been lights on the dash since a few days after I bought it but the obd didn't want to put out any reading. I named her Christine because she seems to have a mind of her own. The rpm's go sky high whenever they feel like it so I often have to pull over, turn it off and wait about 5 minutes. I didn't know where to turn to get help with this before it nickel and dimes me into the even more poor house.
MY CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS OFF AND ON. THE AUTO SHOP THAT I SEND IT TO HAS REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 4 TIMES BEFORE ZEROING IN ON THE PROBLEM WHICH APPARENTLY IS THE TIPUM, AN ELECTRONIC PIECE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PIECE FOR ISSUES INVOLVING THE FUEL PUMP STOPPING OPERATION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. THIS RECALL DOES NOT EFFECT MY CAR, BUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS AFFECTING MY CAR. I'M WONDERING WHAT'S GOING ON THERE AND IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER REPORTS OF THIS. VAN BEGAN HAVING TROUBLE STARTING UP AT AROUND 100,000 MILES. THE ISSUE WAS INTERMITTENT UNTIL A WEEK AGO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T CRANK. THE FUEL PUMP WILL NOT ENGAGE AND START THE VEHICLE. MY BATTERY IS GOOD AND WHEN WE BYPASSED THE TIPM, THE VEHICLE CRANKS PROPERLY. THIS IS AN INDICATION THAT THE TIPM IS FAULTY. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT SEEMS THAT IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR MANY DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP MODELS IN 2011. THIS A DEFINITE HAZARD BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO RUN EVEN WHILE EVERYTHING IS TURNED OFF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND WIRING HARNESS FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO DICK HANNAH JEEP (3517 NE AUTO MALL DR, VANCOUVER, WA 98662) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NOT COMPLETED DUE TO THE CONTACT ONLY WANTING PARTS PLACEMENT INFORMATION. HE THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE SEVERAL FAILURE CODES WERE DIAGNOSED AS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE ALONG WITH THE FUSE BOX NEEDING REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,352. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
APPARENTLY CHRYSLER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR TIPM FROM YEARS 2011 TO 2013. I JUST HAD TO DO A FUEL RELAY BYPASS ON MY 2011 TOWN AND COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT TISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL MALES AND MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REFUSE BECAUSE ALL MODELS MOST LIKELY USED THE SAME TIPM.
LEFT SIDE PASSENGER AUTO SLIDING DOOR AUTO LOCKING SYSTEM. WHEN SYSTEM WOULD AUTO LOCK, IT WOULD NOT UNLOCK IN EITHER THE AUTO MODE, ELECTRICALLY BY FOB OR DOOR LOCK ELECTRIC SWITCH AND MOST DANGEROUS, UNABLE TO MANUALLY MOVE THE LOCK RELEASE TAB ON THE DOOR TO UNLOCK POSITION. RENDERS EGRESS FROM THIS DOOR TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE. TROUBLESHOOT FOR 3 WEEKS. AFTER COUPLE DAYS WAS ABLE TO ELECTRICALLY UNLOCK DOOR AT WITCH TIME I TOTALLY DISCONNECTED DOOR POWER AND OPERATED THE LOCK AND DOOR IN MANUAL MODE NO PROBLEMS.. ONLY WHEN USING THE LOCK SOLENOID,,DID THE LOCK SYSTEM JAM. REPLACED DOOR LOCKING ASSMY AT PART COST OF $648 AND DOOR BACK TO NORMAL OPS. PART NUMBER FOR LOCK WAS DLA1306.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HAS SUDDENLY SEIZED AND REFUSES TO OPEN. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND IT APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY ACTUATOR. IN MY RESEARCH I FOUND MANY OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND THOUGHT IT A SAFETY CONCERN. IF MY CHILD OR ANYONE NEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY THIS WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE. IF THE OTHER DOOR WERE TO SEIZE UP AT THE SAME TIME THEN THERE WOULD BE NO WAIT TO EXIT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SAFELY. IN MY SITUATION THE DOORS FUNCTIONED PROPERLY WHEN WE ENTERED THE VEHICLE BUT THEN REFUSED TO UNLOCK OR OPEN DESPITE MY BEST EFFORTS WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR SINCE THE ACTUATOR FAILED, MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY.
INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM. CHANGED STARTER, BUT PROBLEM PERSISTED A FEW MONTHS LATER. TAPPING ON STARTER SOMETIMES WORKS AND VEHICLE WILL START BUT WILL NOT START WHEN STOPPED AGAIN..
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE RADIO JUST RANDOMLY SHUTS DOWN. SCREEN GOES BLACK FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THEN RESTARTS ITSELF. ALL PRE-SAVED STATIONS ARE STILL THERE BUT IT'S ALMOST LIKE WE TURNED THE CAR OFF, THEN TURNED IT BACK ON. HAPPENS QUITE A BIT - ABOUT ONCE A WEEK OR MORE. PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN OPENING AND CLOSING. NOT GRINDING, ITS DEFINITELY SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. PASSENGER SEAT AND BOTH MIDDLE BUCKET SEAT HEATERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO NAPLES DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (6381 AIRPORT-PULLING RD, NAPLES, FL 34109) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DECLINED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AFTER BEING INFORMED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WOULD BE ASSESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE'S NUMBER TWO CYLINDER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. OXMOOR DODGE (4520 SHELBYVILLE RD, LOUISVILLE, KY) AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
VAN BATTERY IS DEAD EVERY MORNING. FUEL PUMP COUNTINOUSLY RUNS EVEN AFTER VAN IS TURNED OFF. SOMETIMES STALES WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE VAN.
TIPM FAILURE, FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. CAR CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START. FUEL PUMP REPLACED AND SAME ISSUE OCCURS.
PERSISTENT ELECTRICAL MOTOR SOUND EMANATED FROM REAR OF CAR AFTER PARKING AND POWERING OFF (CONTINUED AFTER REMOVAL OF KEYS). NEXT DAY BATTERY WAS DEAD, JUMP STARTED ENGINE WITH DIFFICULTY. DROVE FOR SEVERAL HOURS, BUT AGAIN WOULD NOT START AFTER IT WAS SHUT OFF. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, REPLACED AT A COST OF NEARLY $1,500. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF TIPM, NEW ISSUE OF AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON AND SEVERAL 12-VOLT POWER PORTS INSIDE THE CAR NO LONGER WORK, BOTH NEW CONDITIONS SINCE TIPM REPLACEMENT.
BODY CONTROL MODULE IS GOING OUT SO THE HEAT STOPS WORKING. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD COME ON INCLUDING THE SECURITY LIGHT RANDOMLY. THE AIR BAGS MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES. HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. IN THE CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY.
I WAS AT THE STORE WHEN I CAME OUT TO START MY VAN I PUT THE KEY IN TURNED IT IT WOULD NOT START UP THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT IT GOT STUCK HAD TO PULL IT OUT, AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE AND THEY COULD NOT FIX IT.
AS STATED PREVIOUSLY, I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT TURN ON WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, MICKEY'S GARAGE TOLD ME THAT WHEN THEY UNPLUGGED THE BATTERY AND LET IT SIT FOR LITTLE IT STARTED UP, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT, BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WOULD DO IT AGAIN, THAT IT SHOULD BE CHECKED OUT BY A CHRYSLER DEALER. IT STOP ON ME IN THE FAMILY DOLLAR PARKING LOT.
ON NOVEMBER 14, 2019 I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY 18 YEAR OLD SON TO DETROIT METRO AIRPORT. WE WERE ENTERING THE ENTRANCE RAMP OF I-94 & US 23. WE WERE TRAVELING AT 65MPH. AS I WAS MERGING ONTO I94 TRAFFIC, MY 2011 TOWN & COUNTRY LOST ALL POWER. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE CAR, BRAKE THE CAR. I WAS FORTUNATELY NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I AM NOTING THAT THE ONLY KEY(FOB) ON THE KEY RING WAS THE KEY FOB IT SELF. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT (PAST 8 YEARS WE'VE OWNED THIS VEHICLE) WE HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH AN INCIDENT. VEHICLE WON'T START. ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT WON'T RUN. SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY.
WHILE DRIVING OUR 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY LTD. ON A CITY STREET, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER WHICH ALMOST CAUSED US TO HAVE A SEVERE ACCIDENT AS THERE WAS TRAFFIC RON FRONT OF AND BEHIND US.. BECAUSE OF THIS, WE LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING WITH 3 OF OUR YOUNGER CHILDREN IN THE VAN. THANK GOD MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET US OFF OF THE MAIN STREET INTO A DRIVEWAY. HE ALSO HAD TO SEVERELY STOMP ON THE BRAKES TO GET THE VAN TO STOP. THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE TIPM. THE CIRCUIT FOR THE FUEL PUMP IS FAULTY WITHIN THE CIRCUIT BOARD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER VANS, NOT JUST THE DURANGO & JEEPS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY JUST THE DAY BEFORE AND THIS WOULD'VE BEEN DEADLY HAD IT HAPPENED DRIVING AT 65/70 MPH.
MY TODDLER CHILDREN AND I WERE STRANDED BECAUSE MY VAN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING TO RUN IN AND GET MY CHILDREN FROM DAYCARE, ONLY TO RETURN TO A VEHICLE THAT HAD NO ELECTRICITY. MY CHILDREN AND I WERE STUCK ALL EVENING, AWAY FROM HOME, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS CHECK OUT AND EVENTUALLY TOWED. AFTER BEING TOWED, NOT ONLY ONCE BUT TWICE, AND BEING WITHOUT A VEHICLE SINCE 11/8/2019 WE FINALLY FIND OUT THE PROBLEM IS THE PCM, WHICH HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THESE VANS. THIS IS MAJOR INCONVENIENCE FOR MY FAMILY. WITH THIS BEING A RE-OCCURRING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE, CHRYSLER SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THIS ISSUE.

CURRENTLY, IT TOOK UP TO FIFTEEN ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,793.
VEHICLE CRANKS, STARTER SOMETIMES STAYS ENGAGED FOR EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, BUT FAILS TO START DUE TO FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE IN TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE ( TIPM/FUSEBOX). SOMETIMES WILL START, RUN, THEN DIE. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, WILL FINALLY START, STAY RUNNING. KNOWN ISSUE ACROSS MULTIPLE FCA MODELS AND YEARS. CAN PROGRESS TO FAILURE WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. REPAIR COST ~$1000. I VIEW THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE WORTHY OF A VEHICLE SAFETY RECALL AND FIND IT REPREHENSIBLE THAT DESPITE ALL OF REPORTS REGARDING FAILURE, NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.
