Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased from the Facebook Marketplace. The vehicle was taken to the DMV to be titled, and it was discovered that the title had been altered. The odometer reading was scratched off the title, and the numbers were unidentifiable. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 101,211, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was unknown. The contact had not retrieved a Carfax report.
The tipm fuel pump relay is faulty causing the car to start intermittently. It also stalled on a main road without any warning with my kids in the car. Luckily I was able to put the flashers on and drift to the side and others were able to get around without any accident. However they came close to hitting myself and others. I have spent over $1,000 at this point fixing items that didn't need to be fixed only to finally find out online that others have this issue and its a known issue for Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler Town and Country but for some reason the recall is only for Dodge and Jeep.
It stalls to turn on even when I changed everything from, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, heater pumps, alternator, new battery. And it still won’t turn on it’s been happening for 4 months now. And I changed things that were recommended. I do my oil change every time I need as well.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
My vehicle has overheating problems ever since I have had it. I have had the thermostat replaced. The sensor thermostat replaced. The radiator flushed and had several shops look at it yet they could find nothing wrong but I go through antifreeze like crazy. At least 1 gallon every month. The temp reads 100 - 180 on hot days and it gets super hot.
In Oct of 2024 My driver's side window shattered out of nowhere for no apparent reason! I heard this really loud boom then the window shattered ! I took it in the have the regulator replaced and the window. I also put a windshield in it at that time as well. Then in August of 2025 not even a year later and once again my window shattered and my winshield cracked. This time i was driving on the freeway and I heard a big pop the crash and in tiny pieces mof glass fell in to the door driver's side window .

I wrote before about the electrical issue. My husband jumped started my car On 8/28/24. I drove down to my church for a Women's Bible Study. I was there for 2 1/2 hours. When I went to leave my car would not start. I called my son. He jump started my car for me. As I was about to leave after a few minutes my car quit running. As the car was running every electrical component on the dash was going haywire, the heater fan was going full blast, but the windows would not go up. That was irritating as it started to rain. Had to cover the windows. Left the car in parking lot. Next day after church my husband tried to start the car. The car turned over and the battery light was on. Brande new battery was put in that week, As the following we thought that might have been the problem. He jumped started the car same thing as before. We had to have the car flat bedded to the mechanic. The mechanic tested the new alternator that was just put in and said it was bad. Replaced the alternator and car ran. He wanted to see what would happen so he kept car over night. Next morning car would not start. All fuses have been checked, fuse box has been checked. Nobody can seem to figure out what is going on with this vehicle. I have spent over $2000. an to no avail. I am ready to junk this thing. Mu dad said their was a Caravan for sale I just read they have electrical issues also no way.
The vehicle had a recall that was not satisfied before expiration. The vehicle currently has only 92,135 miles. The car would stall out while driving down the road. The head was manufactured to thin, cylinder misfire. It was very unsafe going up and down the mountains in our area especially. It would not shift after going down an incline. So have to pull over and restart. I called and made a complaint before. We finally saved up enough to pay for the work. I have a receipt for $3219.76. The chrysler recall bulletin is 09-002-14. I contacted Chrysler they just put me to all different people and no one knows. This was a very dangerous situation to drive.
Over 2 yrs now the electrical has been haywire. In driveway the interior lights on dash lights come on and and doors lock and unlock. Driving down road on dash tells you that must put car in park to engage. Lift gate ajar. Heater turns on and off full blast front and back fans. Side doors do not work/ or work when they want to work. Battery brand new gets drained and needs to be charged 1 every month. Had alternator changed. Still does the same thing. I call this my possessed van. At my wits end. Spent much money trying to find out problem unable to locate. Changed fuses did not help. This is my second town and country. I never had a problem with my first one which was a much older model that is why I got another one. Now I am rethinking about getting another town and country. Who is going to help with all of these customer complaints with electrical issues. I am a disabled person who needs my vehicle for appointments. I cannot get stranded or break down or have a vehicle fire. I am frustrated by this company for not caring for their customers needs.
Headlight on passenger side went out and it was not the bulb assembly.
Van was sitting in driveaway in front of my house. We noticed smoke coming from rear of the vehicle and then saw flames. Contacted 911. Fire department arrived to put out the fire. They said something appeared to have shorted or exploded inside the driver side rear wall panel. Just below the rear window vent in the area of the 3 row speakers and cup holders. It burned down the exterior of the van near the gas cap.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while driving at 45–50 MPH, the complete electrical system shut down. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who stated that the electrical system had shut down. The vehicle failed to turn over and restart. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 186,000.
2011 Town and Country started stalling while driving up to 40mph! The problem is intermitten and unable to be diagnosed by mechanic. This happens in the middle of traffic and power steering is lost. This is a known problem and was recalled in the several years before mine. This is a safety issue to everyone on the road and is a matter of time before there is an accident.
Vehicle is a 2011 Chrysler Town Country Touring L and has 68,000 miles on it. It is well maintained with no issues prior to compliant incident. While normal driving of vehicle emergency dash light system activated numerous safety warning lights i.e.: ABS, ESC, Engine light. My wife was travelling on a highway at 68 mph. Loss of drivability noted at the time included; loss of speedometer, abnormal shifting of transmission, loss of ABS and traction Control, Cruise Control and seat belt notification. The following day, I took the vehicle to repair dealership where I was notified that there was numerous codes showing up on scanner. PCM Codes included; c2200 Internal fault of ABS Module, U1110, U1120, P0501. Advised that I would lose numerous other systems not noted due to codes these included; electric rear doors inoperable while vehicle started, seat belt alarm system, rear parking system notification. Dealership advises that Chrysler company has put the sale of ABS modules part # 68089474AA on hold for over the last year, due to an Engineering review, and that no modules are available for sale. It was recommend that I "get rid of the vehicle". In doing internet searches this is a long running problem with numerous vehicles using this same ABS Module system. Due to the numerous safety systems this affects, the vehicles are unsafe without a recall to correct this manufacturer defective ABS Brake Module. I have had to setup an auxiliary GPS module to calculate speed and severely limit driving this vehicle during inclement weather. As of now normal braking remains unaffected but there. Public is at the mercy of the manufacturer as ABS modules are not for sale and have a retail value of over $1300.00 + install and dealer reprogramming. This is a severe safety issue and aligns with other current recalls of similar models with the same condition. You may contact me at anytime to discuss. I am a recently retire Chief of Police and a certified Accident Homicide Investigator.
The ABS light, Traction light, and Brake light all come on and simultaneously. I've been told that the ABS Module is bad and needs to be replaced. The fact that the module needs to be replaced concerns me since there are prior recalls for ABS Module with other Dodge, Ram, and Chrsyler makes and models.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked at his residence in the driveway, the contact stated a friend knocked on the door and informed the contact that the vehicle was on fire. The contact stated the fire extinguished on its own. The contact stated no fire or police report was filed. The contact stated that the fire seemed to have started on the driver's side of the vehicle and in between the second and third row of seats. The contact stated that he contacted the dealer to make them aware of the failure and was advised to bring the vehicle to the repair center. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The manufacturer representative inspected the vehicle and advised the contact that the fire was not caused due to faulty Chrysler parts. The fire origin was unknown. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. The VIN was not available.
The fuel pump is sporadically not getting power. This has left me stranded multiple times. I’m worried that this could happen while driving on the interstate and causing an accident.
After most of the major electrical components were replaced a new battery, alternator and computer. Ran for a week then just died for no reason had to be jump started just to get it moving. Also the lane blind spot detectors are in a very bad place and are subject to weather and broke.
During random times; starting cold, starting warm, coming to a stop, accelarating, on city surface streets or on the freeway, after long drives or just going down the street; the minivan would stall and not restart. Fortunately able to coast to side of road on occassion. Non start condition would last between 15 minutes to days. This last event occured while turning in a busy intersection. Blocked cars and buses in all four directions on a Friday afternoon rush hour, putting ourselves and others at serious risk. There were no warning lights or anything other than a brief shudder before stalling. Roadside service called 911 first to get us out of the way. Towed to local mechanic who duplicated event and found that two separate recalls for faulty fuel pump relay was issued for other models but not our minivan. This family vehicle is now a liability if the fuel pump relay replacement is not made available to us.
My vehicle keeps locking and unlocking itself
Driving 70mph on the interstate when the engine just shuts down ( sudden engine failure ) it is only by the grace of God that it didn't result in a pile-up and injury/loss of life. One of the most fearful experiences that I have ever had happened to me. This is the 2nd instance of sudden engine failure in the past month. On each occasion, I have had the vehicle towed and the mechanics are unable to find the root cause of the problem. I now fear injury/loss of life to myself and or others. I tried calling Chrysler to no avail and i have sent a certified letter to the Chrysler CEO , hristine Feuell with no response so far. The contact stated that they paid to have their vehicle looked at by the dealer. There were unsuccessful in duplicating the issue or finding the cause or a cure. The contact was told to trade in the vehicle. The contact stated after 10 breakdowns and 7 vehicle tows this week someone finally figured out the problem being a DEFECTIVE TIPM module.
The van has a problem accelerating and also seems to stall while driving on the expressway before jumping quickly into acceleration there was a bad storm in Buffalo that I believe contributed to the problems of the Chrysler van
Upon leaving work my battery (only installed for 3 months) was completely dead. After a co-worker jumped my van off I went straight to Advanced and had them check the battery. It showed something was still on/running however the keys were in my hand and absolutely nothing was on or plugged in. He went ahead and replaced my battery. The next day I went out on errands and it started fine. That evening I was taking my family out to dinner and it would not start. It would crank but not start. I put it in neutral and back into park and it did manage to start. The following morning I went out and it would only crank. It would not start and the lightening bolt symbol and check engine light came on. First we changed the throttle body sensor (as indicated by the light). It still wouldn't start. After I had it towed to a garage they said the TIPM was faulty and had caused the fuel pump to burn out. I have seen/read numerous other people saying this has happened to their vehicle as well. The exact same issues. This issue has cost me over $1,500 and I still haven't had the TIPM fixed yet. With as many complaints on the same issue there should be a recall on this since it is obviously a manufacturing issue.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while merging at an undisclosed speed, he attempted to slow the vehicle by applying the brake pedal, which failed to slow the vehicle rapidly enough to avoid a collision. As a result, the contact collided with the vehicle in front of him. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were displayed on the instrument panel. A police report was filed. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified, but a case was not opened; the contact stated that he informed the manufacturer of intermittent brake failure as he had experienced similar events on undisclosed dates. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Passenger side front seat active headrest deployed spontaneously (no accident).
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while driving at various speeds, the power steering failed. As a result, the steering wheel was difficult to maneuver then the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 275,000.
Going down the road 55 mh van quit rear hatch and sliding side doors unlocked and opened van will not start. These vans were recalled for something like this in the previous years. This one should have been recalled to
The vehicle will crank but not start. This happened intermittently at first but is now a consistent issue. Through research I discovered that this is a common TIPM issue on this year Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge vehicles. A recall was placed for Jeep and Dodge however there has been no recall on Chrysler models with the same issue. This issue can cause the vehicle to not start as well as stall while driving which could potentially cause an accident. This recall needs to be in effect for Chrysler model vehicles with the sand issue as the Jeep and Dodge models
"P0740" OBD2 code, causing vehicle to Fail state Safety Inspection. issue is due to a defect within the transmission, very common with the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. "Dealer Only Repair" , very costly. Serious Safety Issue. Vehicle cannot be diagnosed by most Certified Mechanics. this faulty reading could mask very serious issues with the Transmission. This issue needs to be expedited to review ASAP. Thank You.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact parked on the side of the road to check the engine oil, but no failure was found. The contact continued driving to his residence. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the converter clutch solenoid circuit to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 149,990.
When we bought the vehicle the battery kept dying. The dealership installed a new battery and it kept happening. They eventually said that the fuel pump was not shutting down when the vehicle was turned off and they said they fixed the problem. Fast forward a couple years and the vehicle would not start. Took it to a trusted mechanic who diagnosed it needed a new computer. He said it is a well known problem with this vehicle and asked if we ever had the doors open on their on (we have). That is part of the computer problem and so is the fuel pump issue stated above. When I told the mechanic about the initial issue he checked the fuel pump and found that the dealership didn't address the actual problem They used shoddy wiring to bypass the fuel pump. He said the wiring was so loose that it fell apart when he touched it and said that a sharp turn would've been enough to disconnect the wiring and shut the vehicle down while driving. This would've been very dangerous. He stated that we were very lucky. Apparently this happens all the time with these Chrysler. He recommended we file this complaint.
The TIPM is failing, not allowing the van to start when it gets so cold out. We were quoted $2000 to get it repaired. We found an article stating this is a common issue and was being repaired by Chrysler.
2011 Chrysler town and country, starts then shuts off after two seconds. Check engine light came on last night. Remote start disabled. Vehicle will not start via push button, must use key fob in place of pushbutton. Again remote start will not work. Vehicle starts and shuts off right away. From research done, cause being TIPM OR FUEL RELAY.
Rear sliding door lock actuator has failed and is stuck in locked position. It is impossible to open the door from inside or out using either manual or electric opener. This is dangerous as this door can no longer be used in case of emergency or accident. It is also not apparent anything is wrong. It just does not unlock or open.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while at a complete stop on several occasions, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart on some occasions; however, the vehicle failed to restart on other occasions and was towed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the contact was able to start the vehicle with the index finger. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure could be related to the WIN module. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,010.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently fail to start up after multiple attempts. The contact would then take the key out of the ignition and press the auto start button on the key fob for the vehicle to start without incident. Upon investigation, the contact's son related that failure to a defective TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) which needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.
There is a problem with the engine oil cooler leaking oil on the engine creating a smell of oil burning which is not good to breathe, plus the danger of the engine catching on fire. I am filing this report on 11/28/2021. I replaced this part the first time in July of 2021 and it is once again leaking in November 2021 already. Prior to replacing it the first time, I did some research on the internet only to find that this is common problem with this oil cooler used in Chrysler Engines. (3.6 L) I would think that Chrysler is a ware of this problem. I don't have the first part that failed, but the replacement is leaking also. I have not had this inspected, but as I have already mentioned, there a lot of complaints on the internet of people having this problem. The part Chrysler is using has a plastic base, and the plastic is apparently breaking down. There is an aftermarket replacement available and they describe the problem with the one that Chrysler uses and what they did to correct it. The replaced plastic part with metal.
Vehicle would lose power. First problem was while at the gas station with my children (age 4 and 1) and with the key in the cup holder, the doors locked on their own. I had to call my husband to bring spare key. The next issue was the vehicle battery drained and had to get jumped. The last issue was the vehicle would not turn on. All of the lights turned on but would not crank over.Took it to my local dealership and was advised that the TIPM failed.
Fuel Pump Relay- the TPIM
TIPM is defective causing the car hard starting and stall. The fuel pump relay stays on draining the new battery . The car starts then shuts down after 2 seconds. The sliding doors open and close, horn stops, car alarm stops intermittently. I had to temporarily bypass the fuel pump relay. The cost of the TIPM replacement is $1500
The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH up an incline, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home where he inspected the vehicle. The contact discovered that the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact spoke to an independent mechanic who informed him that there was no recall on the vehicle and that he was unaware of any issues with the TIPM. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 114,212 MILES. WHILE PARKED, THE CAR ACTS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO, BUT WILL NOT START. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) AND FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE SAME ISSUE IN RECALL P54/NHTSA 14V-530 FOR THE DURANGO AND GRAND CHEROKEE LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT BUT FOR SOME REASON THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AND OTHER CHRYSLERS PETITIONS WERE DENIED. AFTER TALKING TO CHRYSLER, THEY ONLY SUGGESTED THAT I KEEP MY RECEIPTS IN CASE IT WAS ACCEPTED AS A RECALL BUT WOULD NOT GIVE ANY FINANCIAL HELP ON A $1400 REPAIR BILL.
