ON FRIDAY MORNING, MY WIFE WENT TO START THE VAN BUT NONE OF THE LIGHTS TURNED ON. AFTER CHECKING THE VOLTAGE OF THE BATTERY, WE FOUND THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. THE NIGHT BEFORE, SHE HEARD A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE VAN WAS OFF. WE WERE ABLE TO JUMP THE VAN TO GET IT STARTED. ONCE IT STARTED, IT RAN GREAT. THE NEXT DAY, WE TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE ENGINE STRUGGLED TO START. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF TRIES BEFORE WE GOT IT STARTED. JUMPING THE ENGINE DID NOT HAVE POSITIVE RESULTS. WE DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO OUR AUTO MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. HE FOUND THAT FAULTY FUEL RELAYS ARE VERY COMMON IN 2011-2013 VEHICLES, BUT JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE DURANGOS WERE THE ONLY VEHICLES RECALLED AND FITTED WITH AN EXTERNAL RELAY. I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT IN HOPES OF ISSUING A RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED, MORE SPECIFICALLY, THE 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. VAN WAS HAVING A HARD TIME STARTING. THEN ONE NIGHT I HEARD A HUMMING NOISE WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF. DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS. THE NEXT MORNING BATTERY WAS AT 0%. CHARGED THE BATTERY AND GOT IT TO START. WHEN STARTING WE HAVE TO TURN IT TO THE ON THEN OFF POSITION A FEW TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO WORK. WHEN I HEAR THE HUMMING OF THE FUEL PUMP THAT IS RUNNING WHEN THE KEY IS OUT, I CAN PUT KEY IN AND TURN IT TO ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES AND GET IT TO STOP. MY SHOP SAID THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT IS RECALLED ON OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT OUR VAN. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO COST $710 TO FIX BUT THE PART NUMBER HAS NOW BEEN SUPERSEDED WITH THE FIXED AND THE NOW WILL COST $950 TO FIX. WE SHOULD BE PAYING FOR REPAIRS FOR THIS WHEN THE SAME PART HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR OTHER VEHICLES! I'M WORRIED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WILL END UP WEARING OUT THE FUEL PUMP TOO WHICH WOULD COST ANOTHER $600 TO REPAIR. I HOPE THE COMPANY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THIS BROKEN PART FOR ALL VEHICLES THEY USED IT IN!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALL STAR DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 11503 ST CHARLES ROCK RD, BRIDGETON, MO 63044, (314) 291-2050) WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TO BEGIN WITH VEHICLE WOULD START AFTER, SOMETIMES UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPS. IT ALSO STOPPED WHILE DRIVING, JUST WENT DEAD AND LOCKED UP THE WHOLE STEERING WHEEL, WITH THE VEHICLE STILL ROLLING. WAS JUST LUCKY TO GET OFF THE ROADWAY WITH NO ACCIDENT. PROGRESSIVELY IT GOT WORSE, AND WOULDN'T EVEN START AT ALL. TOOK TO REPUTABLE REPAIR SHOP, WHO SAID WAS A RECALL ISSUE AND THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO ORDER THE PART FOR REPAIR, BECAUSE OF RECALL. INFORMED HAD TO GO TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. DEALER SAID THIS PARTICULAR VIN WAS NOT ON RECALL ALTHOUGH ISSUE HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED AS RECALL ISSUE. MEANWHILE, CHARGED ME $1275.83 FOR REPAIR LISTING "CAUSE - NO POWER AT FUEL PUMP CHECK NO POWER FUSE M25, FUSE M25 CONTROLLED BY INTERNAL RELAY IN TPIM". FUSE M25 NEEDS TPIM WAS $207.81. THEN "TIPM KIT TIPM" WAS $977.00. PLUS LABOR AND TAX. PROBLEM - BOTH INDICATED THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE HAD SAME ISSUES AND WERE ON RECALL. IT IS REASONABLE TO EXPECT THAT MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER RECALL. PLEASE HELP ME RECOVER ON THIS ISSUE.
REPEATED INTERMITTENT NO CRANK/NO START ISSUE. FOUND NO POWER TO FUSE 25 IN TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). FOUND INTERNAL FAILURE OF FUEL PUMP RELAY (BUILT INTO TIPM). TIPM REPLACED AT 65,000 MILES AND ISSUE IS CURRENTLY REOCCURRING AGAIN AT 84,000 MILES.
MY CAR WON'T TURN ON. THIS PROBLEM STARTED ON 11/12/18. IT WOULD TURN ON THEN WHEN I WOULD TURN IT OFF AND TRIED TO GET IT START IT WOULD CRANK, BUT NOT ALL THE WAY. I WOULD SHUT IT OFF AND THEN CRANK IT MANY TIMES TILL IT TURNED ON. THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS CAME TO CHECK THE PROBLEM AND ALL THREE MECHANICS TOLD ME THAT IT WAS FUEL PUMP RELAY. UNFORTUNATELY THE FUEL PUMP RELAY CAN'T BE REPLACE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE EXTERNAL RELAY. THESE TYPE OF VEHICLE ARE EQUIPPED WITH INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. IT'S A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON JEEPS GRAND CHEROKEE, DODGE DURANGO AND CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY, BUT ONLY RECALL HAS MADE FOR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I WOULD TO KNOW IF THERE WOULD BE ANY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. OTHERWISE IT WILL COAST OVER $1000 FOR A NEW TIPM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE ETC WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AAA TO AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM HOUSTON (1515 SOUTH LOOP WEST, HOUSTON, TX 77054, 713-489-7825) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.
FIRST ISSUE IS THE BACK UP CAMERA AND BLIND SPOT SENSORS QUIT WORKING. VERY COSTLY PRICE TO HAVE FIXED SO CHOSE NOT TO FIX. NOW IT DOESN'T WANT TO START. DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT LOOKS LIKE CHRYSLER HAD SOME RECALLS FOR THE TIPM ON DIFFERENT MAKES FROM 2011, BUT NOT ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. HOW DO THEY KNOW FOR SURE THAT THEY ALL SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN RECALLED. ALSO SIDE PASSENGER DOOR BUZZES WHEN YOU LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER AGAIN. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ALL THE ISSUES WE HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE.
VEHICLE STARTED SOMETIMES BUT NOT OTHER TIMES LEAVING ME STRANDED ALONE ....HAD TO HAVE THE TIPM REPLACED FOR OVER $1500......RESEARCHED ON LINE TO FIND OUT THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER OWNERS FOR YEARS! BUT IT SEEMS CHRYSLER HAD NOT RECALLED THE VEHICLES
THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF RIGHT AFTER STARTING, STILL IN PARK. NO WARNING. IT HAS ALSO STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC.
THE POWER SHUTS OFF OR THE CAR WON'T START AFTER THE KEY IS TAKEN OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC I WENT TO THAT SOMETHING WITH THE SPARK PLUGS WAS FIRING INCORRECTLY SO I HAD THAT REPLACED. I ALSO HAD MY AUTO START REMOVED BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT WAS AFFECTING THE BATTERY AND FINALLY I WAS TOLD THE FUEL PUMP WAS CONSTANTLY RUNNING WHICH WAS DRAINING MY BATTERY. I WAS TOLD TO PULL THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL PUMP UNTIL I CAN HAVE THE PART REPLACED, WHICH IS TEDIOUS AND THAT STILL DON'T WORK ALL THE TIME. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE PART HAS BEEN ON BACK ORDER SINCE DECEMBER. AT THIS POINT I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED. THE BLIND SPOT LIGHTS ALSO REMAIN ON.
CAR WOULD NOT START WHEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, HAD IT TOWED TO MECHANIC. THEY FIRST SAID THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED REPLACED, THEN AFTER REPLACING THIS PART, THEY STATED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE ALSO NEEDED REPLACED. AFTER 5 DAYS WITHOUT OUR VEHICLE AND PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, WE ARE FURIOUS. I HAVE BEEN REVIEWING THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR MANY, MANY PEOPLE, BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE BY CHRYSLER. THIS IS THE EXACT ISSUE AS PART OF "SAFETY RECALL R09 / NHTSA 15V-115 FUEL PUMP RELAY". THE TOWN AND COUNTRY WAS EXCLUDED FROM THIS RECALL DESPITE USING THE EXACT SAME PART AND HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES.
TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODUAL REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND STILL DEFECTIVE. COSTING ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! VAN WILL SUDDENLY STALL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. PLEASE MAKE CHRYSLER FIX THIS. IT COULD EASILY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE FOR MONTHS. WE WOULD GO TO START THE VEHICLE, SOME DAYS IT WOULD START SOME DAYS IT WOULD JUST CRANK BUT WOULDN'T TURN OVER. EVENTUALLY MY BATTERY DIED. REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND NOTICED THAT AFTER THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND THE KEY WAS OUT OF THE IGNITION, THE FUEL PUMP WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN. AS A MECHANIC THIS HAD ME INTRIGUED. PULLED THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND THE PUMP SHUT OFF, WHEN I PUT THE FUSE BACK IN THE PUMP DID NOT RE ENGAGE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING. WE CONTINUE STILL TO HAVE THE ISSUE WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING OR THE FUEL PUMP DRAINING THE BATTERY. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND RESEARCH. I AM NOW SEEING THAT IT IS A TIPM ISSUE. THIS SAME MODULE HAS BEEN RECALLED FROM DODGE AND JEEP, I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED FOR THE CHRYSLER. I DO KNOW THAT I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND A TINY WIFE, SO IF IT FAILS DURING OPERATION, IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO MY FAMILY. I WILL BE PAYING THE $1,000 TO GET IT FIXED, BUT WILL BE EXPECTING A REFUND CHECK FROM CHRYSLER WHEN THIS THING KILLS SOMEONE.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASION THE CAR TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. , ANOTHER TIME I RETURN TO DISCOVER ALL THE WINDOWS WERE DOWN, ANOTHER OCCASION THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR CAME ON STATING THAT THE TIRES WERE FLAT . AND LAST BUT NO LEAST SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE CAR REFUSE TO START
SINCE JULY MY VAN WILL PERIODICALLY NOT START, NO RHYME OR REASON. IT ACTS LIKE IT WILL START AIR COMES ON, ETC. SOMETIMES IT WILL START AFTER ATTEMPT 4 OR 5 OR SOMETIMES A WHOLE DAY. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT EVERY TIME I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE TAKEN TO 3 THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE. I HAVE VIDEO PROOF OF WHAT HAPPENS BUT NO ONE WILL HELP ME. CONTACTED CHRYSLER BUT NO HELP THERE. I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT STRANDS ME. I TRIED TO ATTACH A VIDEO BUT THEY ARE TOO LONG SO I ADDED A PHOTO
WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY VEHICLE WOULD TURN OFF AND SOMETIMES TURN BACK ON IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. VEHICLE WILL NOT START. THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF TIMES THAT IT HAS DONE THIS. HAPPENS AT VARIOUS TIMES.
2011 TOWN & COUNTRY 38,000 MILES TIPM REPLACEMENT FAILURE SHUT OFF FUEL PUMP, DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN MODULE WOULD NOT START, VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY
CAR WILL NOT START, WILL NOT STAY STARTED, OR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. OR... THE FUEL PUMP WILL STICK "ON" WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. THIS IS DUE TO THE FAULTY INTEGRATED RELAYS IN THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILING. THIS IS THE EXACT ISSUE AS PART OF "SAFETY RECALL R09 / NHTSA 15V-115 FUEL PUMP RELAY". THE TOWN AND COUNTRY WAS EXCLUDED FROM THIS RECALL DESPITE USING THE EXACT SAME PART AND HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE PROPER PARTS PUT INTO MY CAR FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE DEALER WANTS TO PUT THE FAULTY PARTS BACK INTO THE CAR AFTER CHARGING ME A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED WITH THE OTHERS.
FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF, RUNS CONTINUALLY UNTIL BATTERY DIES. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF HOWEVER THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUES TO RUN.
FUEL PUMP REMAINS RUNNING AFTER IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF. THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN RECALLED IN OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS AND SHOULD BE APPLIED TO THE TOWN & COUNTRY. ANY TIME YOU CANNOT SHUT THE FUEL PUMP OFF YOU HAVE A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. THIS INCIDENT FIRST TOOK PLACE 10/01/2018 AND HAS CONTINUED TO DO SO EVER SINCE. THIS CONDITION APPLIES TO THE TIPM, CHRYSLER DEALER WANTS $ 1200.00 TO FIX.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THEN WENT BLACK, THE VAN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A BIG TRUCK. THE VAN WILL NOT START NOR HOLD CHARGE. THAE BATTERY AND ALTNATOR TEST GOOD BUT IT WONT START. I HAVE HAD IT TOWED TWICE IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND HONESTLY CANT AFFORD TO KEEP GETTING STRANDED. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2016 AND THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE, AT THIS POINT I DONT HAVE TRANSPORTATION FOR MY JOB AND WOULDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT IF IT DID RUN. SO NOW IM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T RUN AND FRANKLY IS A SAFTEY HAZZARD. MY HUSBAND IS DISABLED AND THIS WAS OUR TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM HIS APPOINTMENTS AS WELL. I HAVE SEEN AND READ THAT THOUSANDS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER AND STILL NO RECALL. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.
OUR CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY STARTED DYING WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, NOT STARTING AT TIMES, AND CAUSING A WIDE ARRAY OF CONCERNS INCLUDING SEAT BELT LIGHTS COMING AND GOING, AIR BAG LIGHTS COMING AND GOING, FUEL PUMP STAYING ENGAGED AFTER SHUTTING OFF. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY RANDOM TIME. IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE ANOTHER FAULT TIPM MODULE IN THE VEHICLE, SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED BEFORE EVEN.
FAULTY FUEL PUMP WIRING SYSTEM THE TIPM IS NO LONGER ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO REALIZE THEIR IS FUEL. IT IS NOT THE FUEL PUMP. THERE ARE SO MANY WEBSITES THAT OFFER THE SERVICE TO RE-MANUFACTURER THE TIPM BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING ISSUES. WHY IS THEIR NOT A RECALL?
TIPM FAILURE, DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME OVER $1000.00 TO REPAIR. VAN STARTED ACTING UP IN THE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT . WINDOWS ROLLING DOWN, KEY FOB NOT WORKING, CRUISE CONTROL GOING OUT, WIPERS ACTING UP, HEATED SEATS NOT WORKING, AC AND HEAT WEAKENING, INTERMITTENT ISSUE TO START THE VAN, THEN STOPPED RUNNING ALL TOGETHER, NOW WON'T EVEN TURN OVER. THEN I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AFTER HAVING BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED (ALL GOOD) AND HAD TO BRING IT HOME CAUSE THEY WOULDN'T TAKE A PAYMENT PLAN. I LOOKED ON YOUTUBE FOR POSSIBLE ISSUES AND FIXES AND CHECKED MY WIRING TO MY TIPM AND FOUND ONE HARNESS TAMPERED WITH. TAPE CUT AND WIRES CUT AS WELL DIDN'T LOOK LIK THAT WHEN I TOOK IT IN. I'M UPSET BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE SOMETHING THIS EXPENSIVE AND COMMON KNOWN ISSUE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL BUT OTHER MODELS RUNNING THIS SAME TIPM? THIS IS A CHEAP WAY FOR CHRYSLER TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF US. MAKE THIS A RECALL, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED IF IT WOULD'VE STALLED WITH MY 3 KIDS IN THE CAR ON A HIGHWAY!!! GET US A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE!!!!!
FUEL PUMP RELAY NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. USED TO NOT OPERATE FUEL PUMP UPON FIRST START UP. NOW FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF EVEN WITH KEY OUT OF IGNITION. SOUNDS LIKE TIPM ISSUE. CONSTANTLY RUNNING FUEL PUMP IS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH,AND WILL NOT START,TIPM IS DEFECTIVE,THE INTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY HAS FAILED,THE VEHICLE IS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 59000 MILES
WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY VAN A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. THOUGHT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP, SO WE REPLACED IT. STILL HAD PROBLEMS. BUT MUCH WORSE! VAN WOULDN'T START. AND 3.5 HOURS LATER MY FUEL PUMP WAS STILL RUNNING. DID SOME FURTHER LOOKING INTO IT. COME TO FIND OUT THE TIPM NEEDS REPLACED (OR JUST THE RELAY). SO LOOKING INTO THE SYSTEM MORE, THE TIPM HAS CAUSED THE STARTER TO NOT START. IT IS SITTING IN MY GARAGE UNTIL WE CAN GET THE TIPM WORK DONE. NOT VERY SAFE. VERY MAD! I STILL OWE MONEY ON THIS CAR AND NOW WE DONT HAVE A CAR BIG ENOUGH FOR THE FAMILY. I WILL NEVER BUY CHRYSLER CARS AGAIN!!! THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST 7 MONTHS WITH THIS CAR!!!!
MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY BEGAN HAVING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A MINOR TURN SIGNAL ISSUE. AFTER REPLACING THE BULB AND THAT NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUSES AND THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT MY TIPM BOX/SYSTEM WAS BAD. FAST FORWARD 1 YEAR LATER AND MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO INTERMITTENTLY SPUDDER WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I THEN BEGAN TO COMPLETLY SHUT OFF AT TIMES AFTER HIGHWAY DRIVING OVER A DISTANCE OF 5 OR MORE MILES WHEN I EXIT AND STOP OR SLOW DOWN AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP, THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY DURING THEIR TEST DRIVE DIAGNOSTIC. THEY HAD TO GET ASSISTANCE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE ROAD. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT ONLY THE DEALERSHIP CAN CORRECT THE TIPM SYSTEM.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR NOT STARTING FOR OVER A YEAR. I'VE REPLACED 2 STARTERS AND STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN WOODRIVER, IL AND SPENT ALMOST 400.00 AND THE ISSUE STILL ISN'T FIXED. THEY ARE THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T EVEN GIVE ME AN ANSWER OR RESOLVE WHAT THE REAL ISSUE IS. I CAN'T KEEP TAKING MY VEHICLE IN AND HAVING IT WORKED ON. I THINK THEY KNOW ITS THE TIPM. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER AGAIN. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AND I'M SCARED EVERY TIME I HAVE THEM IN THE CAR. WE BOUGHT THIS VAN TO ACCOMMODATE OUR FAMILY AND ALSO FOR ROAD TRIP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED. BLIND SPOT DETECTION FAILURE-BLIND SPOT LIGHTS ON SIDE MIRRORS WILL NOT TURN OFF. BEEPING INSIDE THE CAR WILL NOT STOP. FAILURE ENGAGES REGARDLESS IF THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED OR MOVING AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT ANYTHING IS IN THE BLINDSPOT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND THERE ARE SEVERAL REPORTS OF FAILURES LISTED ONLINE. THERE IS NO WAY TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM EITHER.

AT 103,XXX MILES, MY VAN'S ENGINE SEIZED UP ON OUR WAY TO OUR WEDDING. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER CERTIFIED MECHANIC IN WEST BRANCH, IOWA, AND WAS TOLD MY CONNECTING RODS BUSTED APART. THE ENGINE HAD PLENTY OF OIL IN IT AND THE ENGINE DID NOT OVERHEAT. CHRYSLER RELEASED A RECALL FOR THE 2012 TOWN AND COUNTRY FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON MY 2011!! THIS IS THE SAME ENGINE, A 3.6-LINER PENTASTAR V6! WHEN I LOOK FOR REPLACEMENT ENGINES, I CAN REPLACE MY SEIZED ENGINE WITH A 2012!! HOW CAN CHRYSLER GETAWAY FOR RELEASING A RECALL ON A 2012, BUT NOT A 2011 WITH THE SAME ENGINE!?!
MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUST COMPLETELY DIED. WE HAD NO BRAKES NO STEERING NO POWER ANYWHERE. AT FIRST STARTING THE VAN WAS INTERMITTENT YOU WOULD HAVE TO WAIT TILL YOU HEARD THE FUEL PUMP TURN ON IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE FUEL RELAY ON THE TIPM BOARD IS GOING BAD. ONCE YOU HEARD THE FUEL PUMP COME ON THE VAN WOULD START BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHERE THE STARTER STAYS ENGAGED AND WANTS TO KEEP TRYING TO START WHEN THE VAN IS RUNNING. LAST WEEKEND I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND THE FUEL PUMP SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING( IN MOTION), SPEED LIMIT OF 70,.I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING, THE VAN DECELERATED VERY QUICKLY IN HEAVY AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC, I WAS NEARLY IN A MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT. WHEN THE VAN IS SHUT OFF I AM NOT SURE THE AIR BAGS WILL WORK IF I HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TO UNPLUG THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP EVERY TIME I GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP KEEPS RUNNING DRAINING MY BATTERY. I HAD TO PAY $200.00 TO REPLACE MY BATTERY. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH DODGE AND CHRYSLER FOR 10 YEARS THEY KNOW ABOUT IT BUT IT WILL TAKE SOMEONE DYING IN ORDER FOR THEM TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED. PULLED OFF THE ROAD JUST IN TIME FOR THE VAN TO SHUT DOWN AND LEAVE US STRANDED. AFTER TOWING IT BACK AND UNERRING HOME, THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THEY TOWED IT TO A DEALERSHIP THAT SAID, SORRY, YOU ALTERNATOR WENT OUT, PAY US $1375!

I HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE THE BEGINNING OF BUYING OUR VEHICLE BRAND NEW. MOST RECENTLY THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 25MPH, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND FLASHED BEFORE THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING POWER STEERING TO FAIL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, ON 3/16/18 THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND AIR FILTER CHANGE, AGAIN DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUES. ON 3/19/18, AS I WAS DRIVING MY 3 KIDS TO SCHOOL, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER STEERING. I ALMOST CRASHED WITH THE KIDS IN THE CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I ENDED UP DRIVING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE POWER BELT WAS COMPLETELY OFF AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE AS IT SHOULD BE. THE BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE ALTERNATOR ON, WAS GONE. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME THIS MONTH I HAVE BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN, WAS TOLD MULTIPLE TIMES THERE WAS NO ISSUE. NOW WE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BLOCK.

THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CHRYSLER DEALER. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,949.
