I HAD JUST PARKED THE VEHICLE, CAME BACK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES LATER AND THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. NO POWER ANYWHERE. POWER DOORS, WINDOWS, RADIO, HORN, IGNITION, LIGHTS, CHIMES, STEERING. NOTHING WORKED. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. I THEN SPENT MONEY ON A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE MY BATTERY WAS SHORTED OUT BY THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM AND THAT THIS WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. IN DOING RESEARCH I LEARNED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT CHRYSLER HAS BASICALLY REFUSED TO DO A RECALL ON THIS. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL AS WHEN THE POWER IS LOST, THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN CAUSING IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER, CAUSING THE FLASHERS TO BE INOPERABLE, CAUSING THE HORN NOT TO WORK, AND BECAUSE THEIR IS NO POWER THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH.
AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP FOR 4 WEEKS THEY TOOK A TIPM OFF OF ANOTHER VEHICLE TO SEE IT THAT WOULD FIXED MINE. IT FINALLY WILL START, I GOT IT OUT OF THE SHOP ON 10/20/15. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL 11/1/15 AROUND 9 P.M. MY VAN WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I HEARD A HORN AND LOOKED OUTSIDE MY LIGHTS WHERE ON AND THE VAN WAS RUNNING. MY KEYS WHERE IN MY PURSE ACROSS THE ROOM. IT WAS THE WEIRDEST THING. I WENT OUT THERE, THE DOORS WERE LOCKED AND RUNNING. I HAD TO GET MY KEYS AND CUT IT OFF. I HOPE I AM NOT FIXING TO START HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS TIPM.
JULY - DROVE THE VAN DOWN TO MYRTLE BEACH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE LOST ALL POWER TO VEHICLE. HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID WE NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. GOT IT FIXED TO THE TUNE OF ALMOST $1,000. RECENTLY (LATE OCT-CURRENT) MY WIFE WENT OUT TO START IT LAST WEEK AND IT WOULDN'T START. JUST CRANKED AND CRANKED, THEN AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT STARTED UP LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS SOMETHING ELECTRONIC TOLD US THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, WHICH I BASICALLY TOLD THEM THAT THEY WERE CRAZY BECAUSE IT HAS DONE IT EVERY MORNING FOR THE LAST WEEK. FINALLY NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE TIPM, WHICH BY THE WAY IS ON BACK ORDER FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG, AND NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, . SO... NOW WHAT? I HAVE NO VEHICLE AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT WILL BE. CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE- THE HAVE RECALLED THE DURANGOS AND CHEROKEES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FAILED TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE GRAND CARAVANS AND TOWN AND COUNTRY... WE BOUGHT A $25,000 VEHICLE SO WE DIDN'T HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS... I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A CHRYSLER PERSON MYSELF BUT AM HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT OUR NEXT VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REMOTE MADE CONTACT WITH THE DOOR AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. UPDATED 1/21/16 LN THE CONSUMER STATED THE LID GOES UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS IN THE HEAD AND CAUSED A BUMP TO FOR ON THE CONSUMERS HEAD, WHEN THE LID CAME DOWN ON ITS OWN. UPDATED 03/30/16.*JB *TR
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START IGNITION THIS MORNING, THE ENGINE CRANKED OVER ONCE THEN STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. ALL DASH LIGHTS AND RADIO WORKED HOWEVER POWER WINDOWS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES, THE ENGINE FINALLY STARTED BUT THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED FOR ANOTHER TEN MINUTES OR SO.
FIRST THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT ABOUT 60000 MILES HAD THAT FIXED NOW HAS PROBLEM STARTING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE SLIDING DOORS FAILED TO REMAIN OPEN AND IT AUTOMATICALLY CLOSED.THE DOOR REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO AVOID CLOSING AND PREVENTING AN INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHERE THEY FLASHED THE COMPUTER, BUT THE PROBLEM REOCCURS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

VAN IS DRIVEN BY TWO SENIORS WHO DO NOT ABUSE BRAKES. AT 27000 MILES, ROTORS REQUIRED TURNING DUE TO WARPAGE. AT 49000 MILES, PROBLEM HAS RECURRED AND ROTORS WILL AGAIN REQUIRE SERVICE OR REPLACEMENT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE TIPM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
FOR A WEEK I HAD TROUBLE GETTING VEHICLE TO START, ON 9/10/15 ONLY 5 MONTHS AFTER BUYING VEHICLE IT STARTING LOOSING POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING 45 MPH DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY. NO LIGHTS CAME ON INDICATING THERE WAS NO POWER IT JUST STARTED SLOWING DOWN, SO I PULLED OVER WHICH WAS VERY HARD TO DO BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT AND THE BRAKES WERE TIGHT AS WELL. FINALLY GOT IT TO CRANK SO I COULD GET TO A SAFE PLACE OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED IT WAS FUEL PUMP BUT HE WANTED DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT TO BE SURE THAT WAS THE ONLY THING. THEY TOWED IN ON 9/16/15. WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT FIXED UNTIL 9/23/15, WHEN I HAD MY HUSBAND TAKE ME TO PICK IT UP. I DROVE IT ACROSS TOWN TO WORK, AT LUNCH WOULD NOT CRANK. THEY HAD TO TOW IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS A BAD CONNECTOR AND WAS FIXING THAT. AFTER FIXING THAT STILL WOULD NOT CRANK SO THEY HAVE BEEN GOING WIRE FOR WIRE TRYING TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE TIPM IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER SO UNABLE TO GET A NEW ONE FOR NOW. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS WITHOUT MY VAN.
MY 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTY VAN HAS A BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY - CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO NOT SHUT OFF. THIS DRAINS THE BATTERY AND IS ALSO A FIRE HAZARD TO ME AND MY 4 CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE IN THIS VAN EVERY DAY. IT IS THE SAME EXACT ENGINE AND PROBLEM THAT WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR DODGE DURANGOS AND JEEP CHEROKEES, YET CHRYSLER REFUSES TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNDER RECALL. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME "THEY DO NOT FEEL BAD NOT DO THEY CARE IF I CATCH ON FIRE AND SUE THEM", AND THAT THEY "WILL NOT INCREASE THE RECALL TO INCLUDE OTHER VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF COMPLAINTS" THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW TELLING ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE IS PART OF THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE AND WILL BE $1100 TO REPLACE, AND THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHEN THEY WILL BE IN. I FEEL LIKE CHRYSLER IS PUTTING MYSELF AND OTHER SAFETY IN JEOPARDY AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS. THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL US, AND ARE NOT EVEN GIVING US A CHANCE TO FIX IT. PLEASE HELP.
THE CAR HAD POWER, BUT WOULD NOT START. CONTINUED TO TRY, BUT WOULD NOT START. POPPED HOOD, SLAPPED TIPM, CAR STARTED.
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MILES PER HOUR THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING AND SO DID THE POWER ASSIT BRAKES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCE A FAILURE. CAR WOULD NOT START. ONCE THE CAR STARTED IT WOULD DIE WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM TO FIX PROBLEM.
CAR WILL TURN OVER BUT NOT START. HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALER WHILE AWAY FROM HOME ON A FAMILY ROAD TRIP. AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF WAITING THE DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULT WITH THE TIPM AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $1100 DOLLARS. I HAVE NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE, BUT WHAT AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 6 MONTHS AGO. WE HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. WE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE AND FINALLY IT WOULD TURN ON. THE FOLLOWING MORNING WE TRIED TO TURN IT ON AND IT WOULDN'T. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO TESTED THE FUEL PUMP AND DISCOVERED THERE MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH THE TIPM BOX. AFTER LOOKING THIS INFORMATION UP I FOUND THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SIMILAR ISSUE AND SO I DECIDED TO REPORT THIS ISSUE.

WE CAN NOT GET CHRYSLER TO ORDER PARTS AND REPAIR THE RECALL FOR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. THIS IS RECALL P25/NHTSA 14V-234. THEY NEVER HAVE THE PARTS AND ARE NOT WILLING TO ORDER THE NEEDED PARTS FOR THE RECALL. THEY SUGGEST CALLING THEM WEEKLY TO SEE IF ANY PART CAME IN THAT WEEK.
THIS IS A RECALL THAT I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO. THE VENT WINDOW SWITCH I GO TO THE DEALER & THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS .A YEAR IS A LITTLE LONG TO WAIT FOR PARTS.

THE TIPM RECALL FOR JEEP AND DURANGO SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ANY VEHICLE WITH THAT SPECIFIC PART, INCLUDING MY VEHICLE, THE 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. MY TIPM IS THE SAME PART THAT WAS RECALLED IN OTHER VEHICLES, IT SHOULD BE FOCUS OF THE RECALL, NOT THE HOST VEHICLES WITH THE MOST COMPLAINTS. MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE EXACT SYMPTOMS AS THOSE DESCRIBED IN COMPLAINTS THAT TRIGGERED THE RECALL OF THE TIPMS. MY TOWN AND COUNTRY WOULD NOT START WHETHER COLD OR HOT, HOME OR IN A STRANGE PARKING LOT, IF IT WAS PARKED OR STALLED WHILE DRIVING. IT GOT TO THE POINT WHEN MY WIFE WAS STRANDED AWAY FROM HOME. MY LOCAL MECHANIC, NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE TIPM, HOWEVER WAS NOT EQUIPPED TO REPLACE AND PROGRAM THE NEW PART. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I TOOK IT TO DISMISSED THE PROBLEM AND INSISTED IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. IT WAS NOT THE FUEL PUMP AND AFTER HAVING MY OWN MECHANIC REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, THE TIPM DEFECT CONTINUED FROM THE MOMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP REPAIR. I WAS ABLE TO MAIL THE TIPM ITSELF TO A GAUGE REPAIR SPECIALIST WHO INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP RELAY DIRECTLY TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD FOR $100.00. THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT SYMPTOMS AS SOON AS THE REPAIRED TIPM WAS INSTALLED. A CHRYSLER SERVICE MEMBER LET ME KNOW THAT THE SYMPTOM SOUNDED LIKE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH IS SOLDERED TO THE BOARD, THE ONLY CHRYSLER EMPLOYEE REMOTELY INTERESTED IN HELPING ME. MADE SCENTS TO ME SO I WENT WITH AN OUTSIDE SOLUTION. THE GAUGE REPAIR SPECIALIST HAD REPAIRED HUNDREDS OF THIS SAME TIPMS BEFORE THEY WERE RECALLED. I WOULD EXPECT THE SAME RECALL FOR ALL TIPMS REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLE IN WHICH THEY WERE INSTALLED. THE FACT THAT THE PART IN MY VEHICLE WAS BACKORDERED DO TO THE RECALL SUBSTANTIATES THE IDEA THAT IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WAITING FOR CORRECT DIAGNOSES AND BACKORDERED PARTS WOULD MEAN ANOTHER TWO MONTHS WAITING. PHOTO: BURNT CONTACTS UNDER THE FUEL PUMP RELAY.
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO A SAFETY RECALL. FOR THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. AFTER TALKING TO JOHNSON AND SONS 1910 WEST GRAND AVE., WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI 54495. CAR CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START. MY TIPM IS FAULTY IN MY 2011- CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY @53896 MILES CAUSING OUR VEHICLE NOT TO RUN. WE WERE LUCKY THAT THIS ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN. CHRYSLER CHARGED $395 IN LABOR AND $22 FOR THE PART PLUS TAX. AS YOU ARE PROBABLY ALREADY AWARE, THIS FIX WAS NOT PERMANENT; YET THE DEALERSHIP SAYS "ALL 'WORK IS COMPLETED". NO YOU DID NOT FIX TIPM; JUST "INSTALLED EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY". WE WOULD LIKE OUR VEHICLE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION.
BATTERY FAILURE LAST MONTH FOLLOWED BY A TIPM FAILURE THIS MONTH. BATTERY COST ME $220 TO REPLACE. I FOUND OUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE TIPM FAILURE. 8/12/15 COULD NOT START CAR. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE TIPM WAS NOT SENDING A SIGNAL TO THE FUEL PUMP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS NOT COVERED AND IT COST ME $1050.05 TO REPLACE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER VEHICLES.
WE HAVE OWNED OUR VAN FOR 3 WEEKS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ONCE ALREADY AND I HAVE ANOTHER CALL INTO THE DEALERSHIP. STARTING 07/2015 THE VAN WOULD NOT START EASILY, THREE TIMES ONCE I HAD IT STARTED AND WAS PHYSICALLY DRIVING IT SHUT DOWN. WE HAD IT BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY FIXED THE AIR FILTER. WHEN IT WAS RETURNED IT RAN OKAY FOR TWO DAYS AND THEN THE PROBLEMS BEGAN AGAIN. TODAY I DROVE THE VAN TO AND FROM THE GROCERY STORE. I WENT TO PUT THE VAN IN MY GARAGE AND IT WILL NOT START AT ALL. THE ENGINE TRIES BUT NEVER STARTS. THE LIGHTS COME ON, WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN AND THE DOORS CAN LOCK. IT JUST WONT START.

HAD BEEN FUNCTIONAL UP TO THIS POINT IN TIME. HAVE TO MANUALLY PUSH DOWN THE LOCK BUTTON AND TO UNLOCK , HAVE TO REACH OVER AND PULL THE DOOR HANDLE IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. IN 8/2015 HAD TO REPLACE FRONT AND REAR PADS AND ROTORS. WITH 41,097 MILES ON IT. 12/16 REPLACED BOTH REAR BEARINGS. WITH 56,102 MILES ON IT. 4/17 REPLACED RIGHT REAR PADS/ROTORS/CALIPER. WITH 59,384 MILES ON IT. 6/17 REPLACED FRONT PADS/ROTORS. WITH 61,044 MILES ON IT. 2/18 REPLACED REAR PADS/ROTORS/CALIPER. WITH 67,836 MILES ON IT. I DO NOT USE YOUR DEALERS FOR SERVICE BECAUSE I'VE HAD NO SATISFACTION FROM THEM IN THE PAST. I DO USE A REPUTABLE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THE LEFT REAR SENSOR HAS A LARGE BULGE IN THE PLASTIC FROM OVER HEATING. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. THE ESTIMATE OVER THE PHONE WAS $3,000.00
