TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHUT-OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE SOON AFTER FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DAVIS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (464037 E STATE RD 200, YULEE, FL 32097) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT ALSO SPOKE TO JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (11101 NURSERYFIELDS DR, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256) AND WAS PROVIDED THE SAME INFORMATION AS THE OTHER DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.
OIL FILTER HOUSING HAS PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ALONG PLASTIC SHAFT THAT GUIDES UP THROUGH OIL FILTER. THIS VALVE OR SHAFT CAN BREAK OFF CAUSING CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO REMAIN IN THE BYPASS START UP PHASE. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT UPON SERVICING SAID VEHICLE THIS SHAFT CAN BREAK OFF OR THE VALVE CAN POP OUT OF SOCKET, LEAVING SAID VEHICLE IMMOBILIZED. THIS ISSUE CAN BE FOUND IN ANY 3.6 LITER CHRYSLER ENGINE BUILT BETWEEN MODEL YEARS 2011-2013. MANY OIL FILTER SUPPLIERS HAVE SENT OUT BULLETINS ON SAID ISSUE. IT IS A LIABILITY ON ANY TECHNICIAN THAT SERVICES SAID VEHICLE. *TR
7/21/2016 CAR STARTED FINE THIS MORNING WENT INTO STORE AND WOULD NOT START. TRIED TURNING KEY ABOUT 8 TIMES AND THEN GAVE UP FOR A MINUTE OR TWO. I TRIED AGAIN AND IT STARTED. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 1 MONTH BEFORE WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY. SAME THING, I TRIED ABOUT 8 / 9 TIMES THEN IT STARTED. I DECIDED TO CALL DEALERSHIP TODAY AND HAVE IT TAKEN IN SINCE I HAVE A EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ALSO, DID SOME RESEARCH WHERE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT IT IS THE TIPM. I NOW NOTICED SOME OF THE OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH IT TIE INTO TIPM, MY DRIVER WINDOW SOMETIMES WONT GO UP OR DOWN. THE CAR WILL JUST LOCK EVEN WHILE RUNNING LOCKING MY KEYS INSIDE. I CAN HEAR ELECTRICAL THINGS MOVING AND SHUTTING DOWN AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, AND ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS IN PARK WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE WHOLE CAR SHUT DOWN. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND TURNS OFF WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT FOR NO APPARENT REASON,I HAVE 71,000 MILES. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I HAD TO HAVE THE LEFT HEAD GASKET REPLACED AFTER HAVING IT TOWED FROM THE IDE OF THE ROAD. I REALLY THINK I BOUGHT A LEMON, BUT WILL SOON FIND OUT WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS TUESDAY WHICH IS THE SOONEST THEY CAN GET ME IN, HOPEFULLY I DON'T BREAK DOWN WITH MY KIDS IN IT BEFORE THEN
SITTING STILL CAR WILL NOT START,HOWEVER WHEN YOU REMOVE KEY FOB FROM DASH AND PUT BACK INI IT MAY START,HAD TO GARAGE THEY REPLACED BATTERY AND STARTER STILL DOING IT CHRYSLER SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHATS WRONG HAD TO GARAGE 4 TIMES NO CODES JUST HAD IT TOWED TO CHRYSLER GOT BACK STILL WONT START SOME TIMES ONLY 53000 MILES
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. THE BACK UP SENSORS DO NOT WORK, THE SAFETY BACKUP VIDEO DOES NOT WORK, IT SAYS MY TIRES HAVE 0 PRESSURE, IT WILL NOT START AFTER BEING SHUT OFF. TIPM PROBLEM? WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE VEHICLES ELECTRIC SYSTEM RELATED TO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND ENGINE NOT STARTING. THIS IS CLEARLY ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO WARRANT A TIPM RECALL. IF YOU KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS EXACTLY, COULD YOU LET ME KNOW BECAUSE WE ARE TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION.
TAKATA RECALL", CAN NOT PUT VECHILE IN REVERSE WHEN YOU TURN IT ON, YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN FOR IT TO MOVE FROM PARK TO EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE.
EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE VAN WILL CRANK FINE ONE TIME AND NOT JUST A FEW MINUTES LATER. IT ACTS LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD BUT IT'S A BRAND NEW BATTERY REPLACED BY THE DEALER. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS OFF AND ON. THE SYMPTOMS ARE A PERFECT FIT FOR THE TIPM ISSUES THAT OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVE EXPERIENCED AND HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR. IT HAS PLENTY OF VOLTAGE AND AMPERAGE TO CRANK, IT JUST WON'T. ALSO WHEN IT DOES CRANK IT WILL STALL OUT, ALTHOUGH, NOT EVERY TIME. SOMETIMES IT WILL CRANK NORMALLY AND OTHERS YOU NEED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS ALSO APPEARS TO FIT THE TIPM SYMPTOMS EXACTLY. THE VAN HAS WORKED PERFECTLY UNTIL THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY TO CORRECT IN ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS THE EVENING OF 6/26/16. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 4 HOURS EARLIER AND IT CRANKED AND OPERATED NORMALLY, HOWEVER, THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT CRANK. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND A/C FAN ALL APPEAR TO OPERATE NORMALLY, HOWEVER, WHEN I TRIED TO CRANK THE VAN ALL OF THE LIGHTS FLICKERED BUT THE VAN DOES NOT CRANK. I DO NOT RECEIVE A LOW BATTER WARNING EITHER, BECAUSE THE BATTER IS BRAND NEW, REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT THE BEGINNING OF JUNE 2016. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL MORE TIMES BUT THE VAN NEVER DID CRANK. THAT IS WHY I AM HERE. I AM FED UP WITH HAVING TO DRIVE A VAN WITH AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW. I AM SEEKING RESOLUTION IN THE FORM OF THE THE DEALER CORRECTING THE DEFECT AT THE THEIR OWN COST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVEN TIMES. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE, BUT STATED THAT THE IGNITION KEY WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) FOR CERTAIN 2008-2010 MODEL VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VAN WITH ADJUSTABLE PEDALS. PER THE MANUAL 'THE PEDALS CANNOT BE ADJUSTED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE OR WHEN THE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM (ESCS) IS ON'' IMPLYING SOME TYPE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE TWO SYSTEMS. FROM TIME TO TIME THE ESCS WILL NOT COME ON OR WILL STOP RESPONDING TO INPUTS, INCLUDING NOT DISENGAGING THE ESCS WHEN THE CANCEL BUTTON IS PUSHED (THOUGH IT WILL DISENGAGE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL). HOWEVER, IF I TOGGLE THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH (IN ANY DIRECTION) THE ESCS IMMEDIATELY BECOMES RESPONSIVE AGAIN. THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME TYPE OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH AND THE ESCS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALER WITH NO ASSISTANCE. DUE TO THE ESCS INTERMITTENTLY NOT DISENGAGING VIA THE CANCEL BUTTON THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS VAN. WENT THROUGH A STAGE WHERE IT WOULD RANDOMLY NOT CRANK, SEEMED DEAD EVEN THOUGH BOTH THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE TESTED BY OUR MECHANIC AND WERE FINE. WE FINALLY TRIED REPLACING THE STARTER RELAY IN THE TIPM AND THAT SEEMED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. NOW SOMETHING IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS RANDOMLY DRAINING THE BATTERY WHILE THE VAN IS OFF AND SITTING, THE SEAT BELT SENSOR IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, CONSTANTLY SHOWS MY SEATBELT IS UNBUCKLED WHEN IT IS AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON EVEN THOUGH ALL AIRBAGS SHOW TO BE FUNCTIONAL ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY, AS IT WAS TIME ANYWAY, AND AGAIN HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AND IT SHOWED TO BE WORKING PERFECTLY BUT THE ISSUES PREVAIL. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THE DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE CAN GIVE US A DEFINITIVE ANSWER. EVERYTHING WILL WORK FINE FOR A DAY OR TWO THEN I CAN GO OUT TO THE VAN AFTER IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 2 HOURS AND IT WILL BE COMPLETELY DEAD, NOT EVEN ENOUGH POWER FOR THE DOORS TO UNLOCK, I HAVE TO PULL OUT THE KEY AND MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR. IT HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE SHOP FOR 4 DAYS NOW, FIRST NIGHT THEY HAD IT HOOKED TO THE COMPUTER IT DRAINED IN AN HOUR AND THEY DIDN'T GET ANY SUBSTANTIAL DATA. THEY SLOW CHARGED THE BATTERY ALL THE WAY THEN HOOKED IT BACK UP AND IT HASN'T DRAINED AT ALL SINCE THEN. THEY HAVE ADVISED BASED ON FORUMS AND CONTACTS THAT HAVE ENCOUNTERED SIMILAR ISSUES THAT THE TIPM IS THE ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS ESTIMATED TO COST $1300. THE MECHANIC HAS STATED THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TIPM AND MOST OF THEM HAVE TO BE REPLACED.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BLIND SPOT SENSOR SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GOLLING CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2405 S TELEGRAPH RD, BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI 48302, (248) 334-3600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE FUEL PUMP REGULATOR GOES OUT AND THE WHOLE COMPUTER SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED FOR 1100 PLUS DOLLARS.
IT HAD AN INTERMITTENT START FREQUENTLY. IT STALLED ONCE ON ROUTE 6 I WAS DRIVING AND LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. TWO DAYS AFTER I HAD A TIPM CHIP INSTALLED 1500 I WENT GROCERY SHOPPING, THE WINDOWS IN THE FRONT WERE DOWN (I DID NOT DO THAT).
5-12-16 IGNITION FAILED COULD NOT START CAR. IGNITION REPLACED @ CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN RICHMOND, VA. HALEY CHARGED $985.22. IGNITION FAILED AGAIN REPLACED @ CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN BATH, NY SIMMONS - ROCKWELL CHARGED $292.04.
PROBLEM WITH IT STARTING
2011 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REPLACEMENT PARTS TO REPAIR REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH RECALL NOTICE IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. *SMD
THE VEHICLE AT TIMES WILL NOT START. YOU PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURN TO START AND GET NOTHING. IT IS NOT A BATTERY PROBLEM. IF THE CAR SITS, IT WILL EVENTUALLY START. SOMETIMES SITTING 5 MINS WORKS, OTHER TIMES ABOUT AN HOUR. WE HAVE TRIED REPLACING THE BATTERY, STARTER AND CHRYSLER RECOMMENDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. WE WILL HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP BUT BY THE TIME IT GETS THERE, IT STARTS. IT DID DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ONCE AT DEALER BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT. PREVIOUS CHRYSLER MODELS HAVE HAD RECALLS ON IGNITION BUT THEY STATE THIS YEAR DOES NOT. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS PROBLEM BUT HAVE SEEN PROBLEM DOES OCCUR. USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER DRIVING THE CAR ON ERRANDS AND THEN TRYING TO START AFTER SITTING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS AND STILL CAN'T DIAGNOSIS IT.
WAS LEAVING WORK WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE, ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THE BRAKES GOT HARD. CAR STOPPED, TURNED IT OFF TO TURN IT BACK ON, AND IT WOULD NOT START. ALL LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC CAME ON, BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER OR ENGAGE. DO NOT THINK FUEL PUMP WAS ENGAGING EITHER. TRIED NUMEROUS THINGS, INCLUDING THE TIPM BYPASS AND IT STILL WILL NOT START. 90% PLUS OF MY DRIVING IS HIGHWAY. I GOT VERY LUCKY THAT THIS SYSTEM FAILURE HAPPENED WHEN IT DID, AS A FEW MINUTES LATER AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY, AS WELL AS IF IT HAD HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO WORK.
TIPM REPLACED FOR $1101.91. THE CAR WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY ROAD (WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR) WHEN DRIVING, AND WOULD NOT START OTHER TIMES (WOULD CRANK BUT NOT TURN OVER). WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, WE HAD TO WAIT 3 WEEKS TO GET THE REPAIR BECAUSE WE WERE NUMBER 23 ON THE LIST OF PEOPLE NEEDING THE PART.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO OPERATE THE WINDOWS USING THE WINDOW CONTROLS DUE TO THE WIRES BEING DISCONNECTED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V234000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE DEALER THAT PERFORMED THE INTERIM REPAIR WAS DAVE DENNIS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4232 COLONEL GLENN HWY, DAYTON, OH) WHO STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,398.
BLIND SPOT SENSING SYSTEM FAILS. MESSAGE TO SERVICE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM.
BLIND SPOT INDICATOR HAS STOPPED FUNCTIONING AROUND 47,500 MILES. THE CLUSTER PERIODICALLY CHIMES THAT THE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR SYSTEM IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THE INDICATOR LIGHTS REMAIN LIT. SO A SAFETY FEATURE HAS BECOME A DISTRACTION AND NOW IS A SAFETY RISK. I CALLED THE DEALER TO INQUIRE IF THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO CALL CHRYSLER SINCE THIS FAILURE IS "HAPPENING LEFT AND RIGHT." HE ADVISED ME THE REPAIR IS ROUGHLY $2,000 AND WAS SURPRISED IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL PROCESS IS VERY LONG AND GAVE ME A BIT OF A RUN AROUND. I ASKED THEM IF IT WOULD HELP THEM EXPEDITE THE RECALL PROCESS IF I CONTACTED NHTSA, SO HERE IT IS.
I HAVE RECEIVED MANY NOTICES RECALLING THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. I HAVE CALLED MY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AND WILL CONTACT ME WHEN THE PART IS AVAILABLE. THE DEALER I HAVE CONTACTED IS DUPAGE CHRYSLER # 630-446-1400. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS. WHAT A JOKE! *TR

MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING TROUBLE STARTING WHEN STATIONARY. THE MOST FRIGHTENING THING IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY. WHILE IN MOTION, MY CAR STALLED ON A MAJOR CITY HIGHWAY. I LUCKILY MAINTAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER. THE MECHANICAL DIAGNOSIS IS A BAD TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL MODULE)
I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD A FAILED TIPM ON MY 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER THE EXPENSES I HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN ESTIMATED SPEED OF 60 MPH, FOR NO REASON AT ALL, VARIOUS WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHTS STARTED TO FLASH (NOT ALL IN UNISON) AND THE ODOMETER SPEED INDICATOR (DIGITAL NUMBERS) WENT UP & DOWN AS THE CAR SEEMED TO BE STALLING/MISSING. FOR A SECOND IT SEEMED TO RIGHT ITSELF THEN THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN LOSING ALL POWER - ELECTRICAL (ALL), POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ETC. AND WE WERE FORCED TO COAST TO A STOP IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE. AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND IT SEEMED THAT EVERY THING WAS NORMAL FOR THE LAST 10 MILES OR SO OF MY DRIVE.THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST 2-3 YEARS WHICH IS A LONG PERIOD BUT ALARMING BECAUSE BOTH TIMES WERE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN YOU CAN'T SAFELY CONTROL THE CAR ONCE IT SHUTS DOWN - LIMITED CONTROL AT BEST. AFTER THE FIRST TIME, I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN KENT OH (KLABEN) WHO SERVICES MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE WARRANTY AND I TRUST THEM. THEY HAD A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AND A MANAGER BOTH DRIVE THE VAN OVER THE COURSE OF A FEW DAYS (INCLUDING HIGHWAY TRAVEL) AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. DIAGNOSIS WAS A POSSIBLE COMPUTER GLITCH AND SINCE THAT DIAGNOSIS IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN UNTIL TONIGHT 2/10/16. IT MAY BE THE COMPUTER BUT I WILL DRIVE IT TOMORROW AND SEE IF IT RUNS OK. IF IT DOES I PROBABLY WON'T TAKE IT BACK IN (UNLESS SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING) BUT I WANTED TO SHARE THE ISSUE IN THE EVENT ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. A COMPUTER GLITCH (IF IT IS) IS NOT LIKE A REBOOT ON THE HOME COMPUTER.THIS FAILURE BOTH TIMES HAS HAPPENED IN LIGHT TRAFFIC. MY FEAR IS THAT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC TRYING TO PULL OVER SAFELY WITHOUT ANY POWER AND LIGHTS COULD LEAD TO A MAJOR INCIDENT/ACCIDENT. I SHOULD HAVE MY RECORD OF THE (NO) REPAIR FROM KLABEN AND THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE IN THEIR DATA BASE.
AUTO HEADLIGHT SWITCH (ON)- AUTO SWITCHING FROM LOW BEAM TO HIGHBEAM, HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF 45219 MILEAGE
VEHICLE INVOVED IN ACCIDENT ON FWY, COLLISION DID OVER $6500 IN DAMAGE. BUT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. FROM LOOKING THRU INTERNET I SEE THAT PROBS WITH THE TIPM CAN CAUSE AIRBAGS NOT TO DEPLOY WHEN NEEDED. HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH TIPM SUCH AS VEH NOT STARTING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS.
MY BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING. MY VEHICLE HAS 104,000 MILES. THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM SENSORS WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED AFTER A SIMILAR MALFUNCTION AT 74,000 MILES 1.5 YEARS AGO (8/15/14). THE VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED AND TAKEN CARE OF AND MOST MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES TO AND FROM WORK. BOTH BLIND SPOT INDICATORS REMAIN LIT IN THE SIDE MIRRORS ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON -- BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND A SAFTEY RISK WHEN DRIVING. ALSO THE VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER CONTINUED TO CHIME ABOUT EVERY 10 MINUTES AND THE MESSAGE SCREEN SWITCHES TO A WARNING WITH THE INDICATION TO "SERVICE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM." WHILE DRIVING. A SIMPLE ONLINE SEARCH OF "SERVICE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM" BRINGS UP MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT SAME THING HAVING HAPPENED TO OWNERS OF MULTIPLE YEARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF THIS VEHICLE. ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS, ON AVERAGE, HAD ROUGHLY THE SAME AMOUNT OF MILES (30,000 - 50,000 -- I AM NOW AT 30,000 MILES FROM WHEN THE SYSTEM WAS LAST REPLACED. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT OCCURRED AT 74,835 MILES). CHRYSLER CHARGES $1,200 PER SENSOR FOR REPLACEMENT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM/DEFECT AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. BOTH SENSORS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY CHRYSLER AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. THE SYSTEM FAILURE CAUSES A SAFETY RISK DUE TO THE INCESSANT DISTRACTION CAUSED BY THE SYSTEM FAILURE WARNINGS FLASHING ON THE DASH, THE CHIMING, AND THE TRIANGLE LIGHTS IN THE SIDE MIRRORS, ALL WHICH I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TURN OFF.
I OWN A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 97, 000 MILES, MOSTLY HIGHWAY. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY VAN BUT LATELY HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY NOT START. I CAN PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL SOMETIMES AND IT WILL START OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT. I HAVE HAD IT TOWED 2X TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY STATE THERE ARE NO CODES AND IT STARTS. IT HAS COST ME OVER 1000.00 IN TOW, SERVICE AND GARAGE FEES. THE VEHICLE IS IN THE STOP POSITION WHEN IT WILL NOT START.
MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WONT START RIGHT AWAY. IT GIVES NO WARNING. IT HAPPENS ANYWHERE. IT IS UNSAFE IN MANY WAYS.. I HAVE TAKEN IT OT THE DEALER AND THE PROBLEM PERSIST. I HAVE NO MORE WARRANTY IN THE VEHICLE.
CAR STARTED HAVING TROUBLE STARTING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL FILTER. COME TO FIND OUT IT IS A FAULTY TIPM. WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO CRANK AFTER NUMEROUS TRIES. LAST TIME IT CAUSED A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND NOW NOTHING. BEFORE THE WINDOWS WOULD JUST ROLL DOWN ON THEIR ON, LIGHTS FLASH, HORN BLOWS, DOOR OPENS.
ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT FAILS TO START. DIAGNOSED AS TIPM FAILURE.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. TOWED YP DEALERSHIP. TOOK SEVERAL DAYS TO DIAGNOSE. FUEL PUMP RELAY, IN TIPM, WAS FAULTY.
USED POWER WINDOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE TO RAISE WINDOW. THE WINDOW BROKE A/C THE MOTOR MALFUNCTIONED.
TIPM NEEDS REPLACED. VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ON 8 JANUARY 2016. ALL WEEK THE VEHICLE HAS NOT WANTED TO START AND IT TAKES ABOUT 3-5 TURNS EACH TIME TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON. WHILE DRIVING, WITH MY INFANT SON IN THE BACK SEAT, THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING AND I HAD TO PULL OVER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DASH BOARD WARNING BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, AND WE SHOULD GO AHEAD DRIVE IT WITH THE WARNING LIGHT ON. WE CAN'T GET IT TO THE DEALER WHILE IT IS ON BECAUSE THE LIGHT WON'T STAY ON LONG ENOUGH FOR US TO GET IT TO THEM WHILE THE LIGHT IS ON. WE HAD TO THE SHOP AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM. SO WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT IS ON. HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN THERE IS ACTUALLY A PROBLEM???? IT MAY STAY ON FOR 10 SECONDS OR 90 SECONDS, AND IN A FEW MINUTES IT COMES ON AGAIN. IT MAY COME ON EVERY 5 MILES, OR A HUNDRED MILES. WE HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN IT THE DASH BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. THAT IS NO WAY TO DRIVE A CAR!!! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
TIPM - MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON/OF. INTERMITTENTLY. ON FOR 4 DAYS OFF FOR 3 WEEKS. WHEN ON, MY VEHICLE HESITATES ON HIGHWAY/BACK ROADS AT SPEEDS 35-55 MPH. LIGHT GOES OFF ON ITS OWN AND STAYS OFF. OTHER RELATED ISSUES - DRIVER SIDE SEAT HEATER HAS NOT WORKED IN 2 YRS, DESPITE CHANGING THE FUSE. DRIVER SIDE OUTSIDE DOOR LOCK BUTTON DOES NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY, UNLESS I OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR THEN TRY AGAIN. REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK ON OCCASION, DESPITE CHANGING BATTERIES IN THE KEY FOB. I HAD TO REPLACE THE CAR BATTERY AT 65,000 MILES. I AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE HESITATION AT NORMAL DRIVING SPEEDS. I AM CERTAIN THAT THIS IS RELATED TO THE A FAULTY TIPM WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY DAMAGE OTHER PARTS AND COMPONENT. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART ON ALL MAKES AND MODELS EFFECTED, NOT JUST THE TWO SUV'S LISTED IN THE INVESTIGATION HICH THEY SELL LEAST OF. THIS IS A FAULTY PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SHOULD RESPOND WITH CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS' SAFETY.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ENGAGED IN REVERSE, THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE UNLESS THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ABOVE 4 MPH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,621.
RANDOMLY CLOSES THE POWERED DOORS AND DOESN'T STOP WHEN OBSTRUCTED, SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND NO ISSUES FOUND. ALWAYS WHEN IN PARK AND WITH ALL 3 METHODS OF OPENING THE DOOR, FOD, MANUALLY AND INTERIOR BUTTON. WARNING LIGHTS KEEP COMING OFF AND ON (CHECK ENGINE AND TIRE PRESSURE LOW) BUT SERVICE SHOP SAYS NO ISSUE. AUTOSTART DOESN'T WORK MUCH OF THE TIME BUT SERVICE CENTER SAYS WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON IT WON'T. I AUTOSTARTED MY CAR BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME PRESS THE BRAKES, PUSH THE START BUTTON, PUT IT IN DRIVE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE THEN IT DIED. I WAS ABLE TO START AGAIN BUT IT IMMEDIATELY DIED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS TEHN LOCKED IN AND THE LIGHTS AND HORN KEPT FLASHING, THE LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK. IT VERY FREQUENTLY DOES NOT DETECT THE KEY AND WILL RANDOMLY BEEP THAT THE KEY IS NOT DETECTED WHILE DRIVING AND WILL NOT START AT ALL WITH THE KEY IN HAND.
FIRST MY RADIO WOULD COME ON AND OFF BUY ITSELF, THEN THE HEAT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF BY ITSELF, THEN CAR WOULD START SOMETIMES, UNLESS YOU TURNED KEY ON AND OFF 4 TIMES BEFORE STARTING, NOW THE FUEL PUMP WILL NOT STOP RUNNING AND I HAVE TO TAKE CABLE OF BATTERY EVERY TIME I TURN VAN OFF
TIPM SYSTEM FAULTY! FUEL RELAY SWITCH IS BAD AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECENT RECALL. VEHICLE WON'T START AND STALLS INTERMITTENTLY. HAD TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP AND THE DIAGNOSTIC CONFIRMED. SEE PHOTO. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PART WHICH COSTS WITH LABOR 1100.00. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THEY JUST RECALLED AND THEY NEED TO PROVIDE US WITH SOME ASSISTANCE, I DRIVE MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE!!
AS WE WERE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH THE VAN STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. IT REVVED UP TO 70 MPH THEN TO 50 THEN TO 20 THEN BACK UP TO 70. WE COULDN'T CONTROL THE SPEED WITH GAS PEDAL OR THE BRAKE PEDAL. WE WERE JUST GLIDING. I TOLD MY WIFE TO PUT IT INTO NUETRAL AND TAP ON BRAKE PEDAL TILL WE FINALLY SLOWED DOWN. WE THEN TURNED VAN OFF AND LET IT SIT. WE THEN CALLED ARE MECHANICS AS WE JUST HAD A TRANSMISSION FLUSH DONE. OF COURSE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T DOING IT FOR THEM. WE TRUST OUR MECHANICS AS WE HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR YEARS NOW ON ALL OUR VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL THIS VAN. THE NEXT DAY WE ARE SITTING AT A LIGHT AND THE VAN IS JUMPING LIKE IT WANTS TO GO AND A LOUD CLUNK NOISE HAPPENS LIKE ITS SHIFTING GEARS. THEN THE FOLLOWING MORNING MY WIFE IS GETTING IN VAN TO TAKE KIDS TO SCHOOL AND TURNS ON VAN AND IT TURNS ITSELF OFF. OUR MECHANICS HAD THIS VAN FOR 2 DAYS AND HAVE DROVE IT WITH THERE COMPUTERS HOOKED UP TO IT AND NO RED FLAGS. THE MAIN MECHANIC SAYS IT'S PROBABLY THE COMPUTER. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ON THIS VAN I NOW HAVE FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE,MODEL,YEAR. YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RESOLVE IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT APPARENTLY CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF BUT WOULD RATHER MAKE $1200 OFF CONSUMERS THEN FIX ON THERE OWN. CLEARLY MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY ISN'T A CONCERN FOR THEM. WE DRIVE ALMOST AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY EVERY OTHER WEEK. NOW I HAVE TO BE WORRIED THIS VAN WON'T DRIVE MY FAMILY INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE ITS TAKING OVER AND WE HAVE NO WAY OF STOPPING IT.

ALSO LOST REAR BACK-UP CAMERA SHORTLY THEREAFTER. VEHICLE JUST HAS 41000 MILES ON IT. IT IS A DISTRACTION AS THE UNIT CONSTANTLY CHIMES OF THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING BEING UNAVAILABLE
