THIS VEHICLE HAD A RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT IN MAY OF 2014 WITH FAULTY REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND CONTINUE TO BE TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS YET. A YEAR AND A HALF AND STILL NO PARTS SEEMS TO BE COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE DON'T YOU THINK. HELP

I OWN A 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY BLIND SPOT INDICATOR LIGHTS UP BOTH ON THE MIRRORS AND THE DASH. IT CONTINUES TO DING, CHIME AND LIGHT UP WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR AND THAT I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THIS REPLACED. I HAVE 48,500 ON MY VEHICLE THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM AS THERE WAS ANOTHER CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY AT THE DEALERSHIP AT THE SAME TIME MINE WAS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

-STALLING WHEN YOU TRY TO START. I PUSH THE BUTTON AND IT STALLS. WHEN I GET TO MY DESTINATION, IT SWITCHES FROM OFF TO ACCY. THE STALLING ISSUE CONTINUES TO GET WORSE. NOW, IT ACTS AS IF IT IS TRYING TO START THE ENGINE AND NOTHING CONNECTS. THIS MORNING, IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 10 TRIES TO GET IT TO TURN OVER. THIS WAS AFTER I HAD DRIVEN IT A COUPLE OF MILES. THEN, WHEN I ARRIVED AT WORK, IT WENT INTO THE ACCY MODE AGAIN AS I WAS OPENING THE DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HOOKED IT TO THEIR COMPUTER MONTHS AGO. BUT, I GUESS IF THERE IS NOT CODE, THE PROBLEM DOESN'T EXIST???? THE LAST TIME THEY SUGGESTED IT WAS RELATED TO A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT THEY ADDRESSED. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY DRIVERS SIDE BLIND SPOT DETECTOR CAME ON. SO I WAITED FOR THE CAR TO PASS. NO ONE WAS THERE. THEN A CAR PASSED AND THE DETECTOR WENT OFF. THE DETECTOR CAME ON AGAIN AND NO ONE WAS THERE. THE CONTINUED TO GO IN AND OFF EVEN WITH THE WIRE BARRIER. DRIVING IN TOWN PASSING A TREE WITH MY BLINKER ON IT WOULD LIGHT UP AND DING AT ME. I BECAME FRUSTRATED AND LESS THAN A WEEK LATER BOTH LIGHTS CAME ON AND TOLD ME TO SERVICE BLIND SPOT DETECTION AND THAT IT WAS UNAVAILABLE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WAS TOLD IT WAS A POSSIBLE UPDATE (I'M SICK OF UPDATES). COME TO FIND OUT THE DRIVERS SIDE BLIND SPOT DETECTOR TOOK A CRAP. I'M STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO IT WILL BE FIXED. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEM WITH MY TOWN AND COUNTRY SINCE I GOT IT ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. DAMAGED KEY WARNING, KEY LEFT VEHICLE WHEN IT'S SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME, SLIDING DOORS OPEN AND JUST CLICKS, BLIND SPOT DETECTION ALREADY TOOK A CRAP, REMOTE START STOPPED WORKING HAS SINCE BEEN FIXED WITH "UPDATE", PUSH BUTTON WOULD SHOW IT WAS STARTED BUT IT WASN'T WENT TO START IT AND THE ENGINE GOT STUCK JUST TURNING OVER, GOING TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE ACCELERATES AND GETS STUCK IN A HIGHER GEAR AND TAKES A WHILE TO SHIFT DOWN UNLESS YOU PUSH THE BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN, GO TO RESUME CRUISE CONTROL ONLY 2-3MPH AWAY FROM MY SET SPEED AND IT ACCELERATES TO 3-5 MPH ABOVE MY SET SPEED. IF I HAD IT IN THE SHOP EVERY TIME SOMETHING WAS WRONG I WOULD NEVER HAVE IT. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AND WORK FULL TIME. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO BE WITHOUT A RELIABLE VEHICLE. I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT IN EVERY TIME SO I MADE A LIST THE LAST TIME AND BUT EVERYTHING WASN'T FIXED. KEEP GETTING TOLD OF "UPDATES" REALLY? WOW. THERE WERE NO VISIBLE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000. UPDATED 8/29/2017*CN

THE REAR-LIFTGATE OF OUR 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY SLAMMED SHUT ON APRIL 11, 2014. THANKFULLY, WE WEREN'T UNDERNEATH IT AT THE TIME. BOTH STRUTS GAVE OUT AT THE SAME TIME. WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE ON APRIL 12, 2014 AND I DESCRIBED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER HOW DANGEROUS THIS PROBLEM MIGHT BE, SHOULD SOMEONE BE UNDER THE LIFTGATE. THAT LIFTGATE IS 400 LBS., COMING DOWN RAPIDLY AND SLAMMING SHUT. HE NOTED THAT HE WOULD DISCUSS IT "UP HIS CHAIN" AT CHRYSLER AND ADVISED THAT I DISCUSS MY CONCERN WHEN I GET SURVEYED FROM MY SERVICE CALL. I'VE YET TO BE SURVEYED, SO HE PROVIDED ME WITH YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION. I AM FEARFUL THAT SOMEONE MAY GET SERIOUSLY HURT BY THIS SLAMMING LIFTGATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,300.
2012 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY (RENTAL). CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO RENTAL VEHICLE SLIDING DOOR & PASSENGER SEATS MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SLIDING DOORS JUST BEHIND THE FRONT DOORS WERE ELECTRONICALLY OPERATED. THERE WERE 2 OCCASIONS WHERE THE CONSUMER'S HUSBAND AND A TEEN-AGED DRIVER INADVERTENTLY HAD THEIR HAND ON THE CAR FRAME, AND WHEN THE BUTTON WAS PUSHED TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT DID NOT STOP, WHEN IT HIT THEIR HANDS. IT KEPT MOVING AND MASHED THEIR HANDS BETWEEN THE MOVING DOOR AND DOOR FRAME. THE INJURIES WERE NOT SEVERE. HOWEVER, A SAFETY SWITCH IS NEEDED TO STOP THE DOOR. A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM, HOWEVER, WAS FOUND IN THE SECOND ROW OF THE SEAT, JUST BEHIND THE FRONT SEAT. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE AND HER HUSBAND WERE SITTING IN THE SEATS, AND DECIDED TO TAKE A NAP. WHEN SHE WENT TO RE-POSITION THE SEAT, TO ITS UPRIGHT POSITION, SHE TURNED SIDEWAYS TO PULL THE LEVER ON THE SIDE, BUT WHEN SHE PULLED IT, THE ENTIRE BACK REST ASSEMBLY SLAMMED HER FORWARD WITH CONSIDERABLE IMPACT. AT THE SAME TIME, THE HEAD REST ATOP THE BACK REST SLAMMED FORWARD WITH MUCH MORE IMPACT AND IT HIT HER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. *JB
I WAS DRIVING OUR TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS GOING TO CHANGE LANES TO MY LEFT. THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION DID NOT COME ON TO WARN ME THAT A CAR WAS THERE. ALMOST HIT THE OTHER CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE. ON 9-27-1014 DRIVING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT OUR HOUSE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION DID NOT PICK UP THE GARBAGE CAN ON THE SIDE OF THE DRIVE AND HIT THE CAN CAUSING $ 361.53 OF DAMAGE. TOLD CHRYSLER BUT THEY SAID NO RECALLS FOR THIS. NOW THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING AT ALL AND THE DASH IS DINGING ALL THE TIME. I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A 2009 TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN FOR THIS PROBLEM NO. J01. MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS FIX COSTING $ 2,000 AT THE DEALER. SEEMS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS 2012 VAN AS SAFETY HAS BEEN LOST AND CRASHES ARE EXPECTED TO HAPPEN. *TR
CAR WIRELESS IGNITION WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY, SO CAR WOULD NOT START, STRANDING MY WIFE OUT OF STATE. PART WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $650, TWO DEALERS TOLD ME THIS WAS A HUGE PROBLEM AND IT IS HARD TO GET THE PART. THE REPLACEMENT MODULE IS NOW DOING THE SAME THING AND NOT WORKING. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70MPH, MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. IT WAS SO ABRUPT THAT IT FELT AS IF I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED. I HAD NO POWER STEERING, AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF MY VAN SHUT OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO STEER TOWARDS THE SHOULDER, AND MY VAN REGAINED POWER. THE DEALERSHIP DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT. THE PART I NEED IS ON BACK ORDER AND NO ONE HAS AN ETA. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE SINCE JANUARY 29, 2014. THE SERVICE DEPT. RESURFACED THE REAR ROTORS AND REPLACED THE REAR BRAKES. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING ON JOHN R RD. IN TROY, MI AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45 P.M. ON 12/19/13 WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS THAT WERE SET ON AUTO SUDDENLY WENT OUT AND STAYED OFF. IT WAS TOTALLY DARK AT THAT TIME. THE LIGHTS DID WORK MANUALLY. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE INCIDENTS SINCE THAN INCLUDING ONE AT 70 MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY.
