THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V234000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
WHILE DRIVING INTO THE DARK GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS THE HEADLIGHTS AND ALL LIGHT IN THE CAR WENT OUT. IT WAS RAINING AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE GOING. THE LIGHTS WERE ON AUTOMATIC SETTING. THE WIPER SETTING WAS ADJUSTED ON THE CONTROL AND ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OUT INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS AND ALL OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS LATER AFTER MOVING THE WIPER SWITCH AROUND THE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE LIGHTS ALL WENT OUT AGAIN APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE LATER WENT THE WIPER SWITCH WAS ADJUSTED. WE THEN TUNED ON THE LIGHTS ON THE LIGHT CONTROL AND THE HEADLIGHTS REMAINED ON. THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN THE AUTOMATIC LIGHT SETTING WAS ON. *TR

AUG 2014 NOTIFIED OF RECALL P25. WENT TO DEALER AND HAD DISCONNECTED TO AWAIT NEW REAR WINDOW SWITCH. STILL NO PART AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO DEALER. MY SON WHO HAS THE SAME YR T&C SAYS HIS DEALER FIXED HIS SWITCH. WHERE THE HELL IS THE NEW SWITCH?
IN AUGUST OF 2014 I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE #P25/NHTSA 14V-234 IN REFERENCE TO THE DEFECT OF THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. ON 08/13/14 I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE REPAIR, I AM STILL WAITING ON THAT REPAIR. THE DEALER ADVISE THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE AND STATED THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE; I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT CALL? SO THE CALLING STARTS ON 9/17/14, I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. THEY ADVISE NO PARTS. SAME RESULTS ON 10/17, 11/17, AND 12/17/14. ON 1/6/15 I RECEIVE A SECOND NOTICE ON THE RECALL SO I CALLED AGAIN ON 1/9/15 AND AGAIN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MAN SAYS? NO PARTS FROM CHRYSLER. I ADVISED THEM I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ISSUED THIS RECALL AND AFTER 5 MONTHS THERE ARE NO PARTS TO FIX THIS SWITCH. I GET A SONG AND DANCE ROUTINE AND HE ADVISED HE'LL CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS COME IN. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURE IF THIS IS REALLY THE CASE. WE CHECKED PERIODICALLY WHEN WE DID NOT GET A CALL FROM THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE YET. IN JANUARY 2015 RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER INFORMING US OF THE RECALL. WE AGAIN CONTACTED OUR DEALER A COUPLE MORE TIMES SINCE THEN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PART STILL IS NOT AVAILABLE. I CALLED THE 1-888-327-4236 VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD TO CALL 1-800-992-1997 AND GET A CASE MANAGER NUMBER WHICH I DID AND WAS PUT ON HOLE FOR 110 MINUTES AND KNOW ONE HAS STILL ANSWERED MY CALL........ MY VAN WITH 18,000 MILES WENT IN FOR SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE GRIND I FEEL IN MY BRAKES OF MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WAS DUE TO 'WARPED' ROTORS. THE BRAKE PADS WERE FINE, BUT THE ROTORS WARPED DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT CREATED WHEN I USE THE BRAKES! I AM CONFUSED, WHAT ARE BRAKES FOR? I PAID TO HAVE MY ROTORS CUT, ONLY BECAUSE I NEED THIS VAN TO TRANSPORT YOUNG CHILDREN, IT IS AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH CHRYSLER VANS THAT THE BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACE WAY BEFORE THE NORM. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE FORCED INTO A RECALL. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE. BACK IN JULY 2014, WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR REPLACEMENT OF REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. I HAVE CALLED OUR LOCAL DEALER 3-TIMES AND TOOK MY VAN TO THEM TO HAVE MY WINDOWS DISCONNECTED. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN A NEW SWITCH WAS AVAILABLE. SINCE THEN WE RECEIVED 2 MORE RECALL NOTICES AND NOW I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY IT IS TAKING 9 MONTHS AND STILL NO FIX. WHEN DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO AND GOING DOWN A STEEP INCLINE WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR SHUDDERED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART, SCARED MY WIFE AND GRANDCHILDREN BADLY, AFRAID TO DRIVE IN THIS CAR NOW. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WANT ME TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE BRAKES CHECKED OUT, BUT WANT TO CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE UP FRONT AND WONT DO A FREE BRAKE INSPECTION FOR A VERY POSSIBLE BRAKE ROTOR DEFECT (CHEAP ROTORS?) I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE UPFRONT DIAGNOSTIC FEE AS I WAS LAID OFF A YEAR AGO. THEY WILL NOT FOREGO THE UPFRONT FEE SO I AM STUCK WITH PERHAPS A FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM.
