OVER A YEAR AGO I GOT NOTICE OF FAULTY ELECTRICAL SWITCH SINCE THEN I HAVE ATTEMPTED 6 DIFFERENT TIMES TO GET PART REPLACED & HAVE CONTINUED TO BE TOLD THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. LAST ATTEMPT AT DEALERSHIP WAS JULY 2015 & TODAY I CALLED THE CHRYSLER HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD AGAIN PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE INITIAL RECALL 06/2014.

I TOOK OUR VAN IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OUT FOR THE REAR QUARTER PANEL WINDOW MOTOR. I LATER FOUND OUT (THEY FAILED TO TELL ME AND AFTER TRYING TO OPEN THE WINDOW I READ THROUGH THE PAPERWORK THEY GAVE ME TO FIND OUT THAT THE SWITCH HAD BEEN UNPLUGGED) THAT THEY HAD UNPLUGGED THE SWITCH. THIS WAS ON JUNE 16, 2014 AND NOW IT IS JANUARY 12, 2015 AND THE CONDITION HAS STILL NOT BEEN RESOLVED. WHEN I CALL, I AM TOLD THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT PROVIDED THE REPLACEMENT SWITCHES. THIS TIME DELAY IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM AND I STILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE RECALL NOTICES FROM THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A LACK OF RESPONSE TO THE ISSUE AND THAT THEIR RECORDS ARE NOT COMPLETE IN THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY UNPLUGGED MY SWITCH BUT I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE NOTICES ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *TR

LIFE THREATENING SITUATION OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING OUR 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVAN. WE WERE TRAVELING ON THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY, UTILIZING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND AS WE ATTEMPTED TO PASS A TRACTOR TRAILER THE ACCELERATOR STUCK. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND HAD LOST TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN STEERING. WE WERE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH. OUR 9 YEAR OLD WAS IN THE CAR AND BEGAN TO PANIC AND CRY. WE FRANTICALLY TRIED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION WHICH LASTED 30-40 SECONDS THEN RESOLVED ON ITS OWN. THANK GOODNESS THERE WERE NO CARS IN OUR IMMEDIATE PATH OR WE WOULD HAVE REARED ENDED THEM OR BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE INTO THE MEDIAN. *TR

IMMEDIATELY TOOK VEHICLE IN TO LOCAL AUTO DEALER TO HAVE SWITCHES DISCONNECTED, HOWEVER REPLACEMENT SWITCHES WERE NOT INSTALLED. DRIVERS VILLAGE IN NEW YORK SOLD ME THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT MENTIONING THIS RECALL AND WITHOUT DISCONNECTING IT TO PREVENT A DRIVER DOOR FIRE. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT THE RECALL SOON AFTER PURCHASING IT. IT WAS RECALLING THE VEHICLE FOR THE "REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH" WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE IN THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR. THIS DEALERSHIP IS OBVIOUSLY LOOKING FOR THE DEAL WITH LITTLE TO NO INTEREST IN THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS. SHORTLY AFTER ENCOUNTERING A RAIN STORM, WHERE WE NEEDED CONTINUOUS WINDSHIELD WHIPPERS, ALL INTERIOR DASH LIGHTING AND GAUGE LIGHTS WERE EXTINGUISHED AND REMAIN SO FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. SINCE THAT TIME, WHEN EVER THE WHIPPERS ARE IN USE FOR 3-4 MINUTES THE DASH LIGHTS SIMPLY SHUT DOWN REGARDLESS OF EXTERIOR LIGHTING CONDITIONS. EXTERIOR HEAD LIGHTS AND RUNNING LIGHTS CONTINUE WORKING. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAPPEN QUICKER NOW THAT IN LATE MAY. THIS PROBLEM MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT A CHALLENGE AS SPEED GAUGES AND FUEL GAUGES ARE NO LONGER VISIBLE WHEN WHIPPERS ARE IN USE. MAY 27 I FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR TO PASS A SLOW TRUCK AT 57 MPH LET UP ON THE PEDAL BUT THE VAN CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE (THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD A TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE SO I CHANGED THE ECON O BUTTON AND ALSO KICKED THE FOOT PEDAL) AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS SHOWING A MILE OR TWO FROM 80 MPH. AT WITCH TIME I HELD THE BRAKE AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD.THERE WAS A LARGE RED THROTTLE BODY LIGHT ON. WHEN I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. I DECIDED TO WAIT AS THE BRAKES SMELLED VERY HOT. ON RESTARTING ALL NORMAL WARNING LIGHTS PLUS THIS LARGE RED T/B LIGHT WHILE CRANKING THE DEALER CHANGED THE FOOT PEDAL. ON JUNE 11 I FOLLOWED SEVERAL CARS LEAVING A PARKING LOT AT 35 MPH I LET UP ON THE GAS THE VAN CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE RED LIGHT ONCE MORE. I BRAKED AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD. ON RESTARTING THE ENGINE WENT TO 1800 RPM .. SHUT IT OFF FOR 4 TO 5 MIN RESTARTED LIGHT ON WHILE CRANKING THEN WENT OUT LIKE THE FIRST TIME AND DROVE NORMAL. THE THROTTLE BODY LIGHT COMES ON WHILE CRANKING (NOT NORMAL). THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND WILL CALL CHRYSLER THEY HAVE HAD THE VAN FOR A WEEK NOW, AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THE FAULT DID REMAIN ON THE COMPUTER FOR THEM. *TR

MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS CLIMBING OUT OF THE DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR WHEN SHE MUST HAVE BUMPED THE BUTTON TO CLOSE THE DOOR. IT CLOSED ON HER HEAD JUST BEHIND HER EAR AND KEPT PRESSURE ON IT WITHOUT RELEASING. MY WIFE HAD TO JUMP OUT AND FIRMLY PUSH THE DOOR OPEN TO DISLODGE HER HEAD. SHE HAD AN INDENTATION ON HER HEAD AND A GOOD SIZED BRUISE...NOT TO MENTION SHE WAS TERRIFIED AND SCREAMING! WE ARE SO BLESSED THAT IT WASN'T HER NECK THAT GOT STUCK IN THERE. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND VIDEOS WHERE PEOPLE PUT THINGS LIKE PENCILS AND BLOCKS OF WOOD IN BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE PILLAR AND THE DOOR SNAPS THEM LIKE THEY ARE TWIGS.
