I OWN A 2013 TOWN AND COUNTY AND HAD A RECALL SERVICE FOR NHTSA #14V-234. WINDOWS WERE DISABLED BY THE DEALERSHIP AS PART OF SERVICING, WE HAVE GONE TWO SUMMER SEASONS NOW WITHOUT THE USE OF THE REAR WINDOWS. THE VAN DESIGN MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO ENJOY THE WINDOWS DOWN WITHOUT THE REAR WINDOWS TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE BUILD UP. DEALERSHIP HAS STATED ON STATUS CHECK FOR OTHER SERVICES THAT THEY ARE ONLY GETTING LIMITED NUMBER OF PARTS AND WE ARE ON A LIST WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. SEEMS UNACCEPTABLE TO WAIT THAT LONG TO USE YOUR VEHICLE THE WAY IT WAS PURCHASED.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET, GOING AROUND 25 MPH, AND THE 1ST THING I NOTICED WAS THAT I HAD LOST THE POWER STEERING. THE KIDS WERE WATCHING A DVD, THAT STAYED ON ALONG WITH THE NORMAL INTERIOR LIGHTS HOWEVER WHEN I APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OVER THE CAR WOULDN'T RESPOND TO THAT. I REALIZED THEN THAT THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING! THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PARKED, TURNED OFF THE VAN AND THEN RESTARTED IT. EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON AND WAS WORKING AGAIN. THE MECHANIC CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND CHRYSLER IS CLAIMING NO ONE HAS EVER REPORTED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THE MICHELIN TIRES, ENERGY SAVER A/S ARE DEFECTIVE AND DRY ROTTING CAUSING A POTENTIAL BLOWOUT AND ACCIDENT. THE ACCELERATOR IS POSITIONED TOO FAR FORWARD AND THE BRAKE IS POSITIONED TOO FAR BACK, CAUSING THE FOOT TO SLIDE UNDER THE BRAKE WHEN CHANGING OVER FROM ACCELERATION TO BRAKING. A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND DEFECT IN THE DESIGN AND WORKMANSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE. *TR
?LAST MARCH I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY IN RUSH HOUR, 60 ? 65 MPH. VAN SHUTS OFF, BREAKS DO NOT WORK, AND STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED. ALL I COULD DO IS WAIT UNTIL THE VAN COASTED TO A STOP; I PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP AGAIN IN ORDER TO EXIT THE EXPRESSWAY. ?TOOK THE VAN IN. THEY KEPT IT FOR OVER A WEEK AND THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY REPLACED SOMETHING WITH THE BRAKES AND NOW IT IS WORKING FINE. ?(11/04/14), I WAS ON VACATION IN OHIO. GOING 40 MPH AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. AGAIN, I WAS LUCKY AND NO ACCIDENT. ?TOOK THE VAN TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THEY CHARGED ME $79 TO CHECK OUT THE CAR ? AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A COVERED CHARGE. ?CHRYSLER ?ESCALATED MY TICKET TO CORPORATE? AND THEY ALSO ASKED ME IF I FELT SAFE DRIVING MY VAN HOME. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE ? BUT REALLY DID NOT SEE A CHOICE BECAUSE ALL THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SURROUNDING CAR RENTAL PLACES HAD TO OFFER ME WAS A SMALL CAR AND I HAD 3 PEOPLE, LUGGAGE AND A WHEELCHAIR TO GET HOME. ?I DROVE SIDE ROADS HOME ? THE TOTAL TRIP TOOK ME AN ADDITIONAL 9 HOURS INSTEAD OF 4.5. (11/06/14) THE CAR SHUT DOWN AGAIN ON ME ? NO ONE WAS ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME. ?(11/07/14) RAY LAETHAM DEALERSHIP IN GROSSE POINTE, MICHIGAN. ?11/12/14 DEALERSHIP ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR AND SAID THE ENGINEERS AT CHRYSLER HAVE GIVEN THEM ADDITIONAL THINGS TO TRY ?11/14/14 DEALERSHIP TELLS ME I CAN PICK UP MY VAN. ENGINEERS HAVE DECIDED THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN THE E85 GAS THAT I HAD BEEN USING "WHICH HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CAUSE PROBLEMS" EVEN THOUGH THAT IS THE GAS THAT I WAS TOLD TO USE. HOPEFULLY I WILL SURVIVE THE LAST 6 MONTHS OF MY LEASE. I HAVE A VAN THAT I CANNOT DRIVE MY FAMILY IN. *TR

MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY 2013 WAS RECALLED FOR A REAR QUARTER WINDOW SWITCH. P25/NHTSA 14V-234. I HAVE WAITED FOR OVER A YEAR FOR THE PART AND IT STILL HAS NOT COME IN. NO ONE AT CHRYSLER WANTS TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM. *TR
WIPERSAND HEADLIGHTS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES AND CYCLED ABOUT FOUR TIMES AND THEN WENT OFF. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A SMOOTH ROAD, CLEAR DAY, TEMPERATURE WAS 80 DEGREES. WIPER AND HEADLIGHT SWITCH WERE SET AT "AUTO". A FEW DAYS LATER SAME THING HAPPENS. TAKE IT TO DEALER AND THEY STATE IT'S THE TIPM WHICH IS REPLACED FOR THE FIRST TIME. A MONTH OR SO LATER, WE ARE IN A BAD RAIN STORM AND THE WIPERS (IN AUTO) DO NOT COME ON. WHEN SWITCHED TO MANUAL, THERE IS ONLY THE SLOW SPEED AVAILABLE. TO SHORTEN THE STORY THE VAN HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THE WIPER/HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS PLUS A FEW OTHER PROBLEMS. IT IS AGAIN AT THE DEALER FOR -YOU GUESSED IT THE WIPERS/HEADLIGHT ISSUE. THE DEALER IS GOING TO PUT IN THE FOURTH TIPM IN LESS THAN THE TWO YEARS (OCT 2013) WE'VE OWNED IT. I'VE BEEN WAITING OVER A WEEK TO GET THE VAN BACK AND I'M TOLD THERE IS A NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE OF TIPMS. OTHER MALADIES INCLUDE THE VAN BEING TOTALLY DEAD BECAUSE THE MAIN POWER PANEL ON THE LEFT WHEEL WELL WAS CORRODED. I TOO AM WAITING FOR THE QTR WINDOW SWITCHES. I'M TOLD THERE ARE TWO COLORS - GREEN AND BLUE. CHRYSLER HAS THE GREEN SWITCHES FOR LOWER LEVEL MODELS. THE HIGH END VANS NEED THE BLUE SWITCH.. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE STOW & GO SEATING FEATURE WE WERE GOING TO BY A HONDA ODYSSEY. I FEEL RIPPED OFF AFTER SPENDING $39,000 FOR THE VEHICLE.

MULTIPLE TIMES WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN GOING AND WARNING LIGHTS FLASHED INSIDE THE CAR AND WINDOWS WENT DOWN WITH OUT BEING POWERED AND DOORS OPEN AND SHUT BY THEMSELVES. THREE TIMES THE CAR ENGINE SPONTANEOUSLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING LOSING POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. HAD IT TO MULTIPLE DEALERS - NO CODE ON THE COMPUTER SYSTEM SO NO ONE WOULD DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. FREQUENT CONVERSATIONS WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR CHRYSLER... NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WE'VE BEEN INSTRUCTED BY CHRYSLER TO KEEL A JOURNAL EVERY TIME OUR CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING... THAT'S THEIR SOLUTION. EVEN WITH THIS JOURNAL (ASSUMING MY FAMILY CONTINUES TO SURVIVE THE SHUT DOWNS WHERE WE LOSE CONTROL OF THE BRAKES AND STEERING WHILE MOVING DOWN THE ROAD) IF THERE IS NO CODE CHRYSLER WILL HAVE NO SOLUTION. *TR
THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE. RIGHT AROUND 6100 MILES, I STARTED HEARING IRRITATING NOISE AT SPEEDS AROUND 30-40 MPH. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND CHRYSLER SEEMS TO HAVE NO SOLUTION AS WELL. THEY BASICALLY SAY IT IS DRIVABLE SO I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. THIS NOISE IS PERSISTENT AND LOUDER THAN WHEN WE FIRST NOTICED IT (8200 MILES NOW). NO REPAIR, NO REPLACEMENT, NOTHING BUT A CONTINUAL NOISE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH AND MY LIGHTS WENT OUT. I HAD BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL SO I DIDN'T TOUCH ANY BUTTON. I DID HAVE THE AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM FEATURE TURNED ON. LINWOOD MOTORS IN PADUCAH, KY 42001 PHONE # 800-326-7604 HAVE WORKED ON THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. THE MECHANICS AT LINWOOD MOTORS CLAIM TO HAVE REPLACED THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TWICE, BUT IT STILL LEAKS. ON JULY 14, 2014 FOUND EXHAUST LEAKING INTO A/C VENTS & BLOWING INTO CAB. TECH REPLACED ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM. TEST DROVE WITH CARBON DIOXIDE MONITOR FROM WALMART, WHICH WILL ONLY DETECT AT 30 PPM'S OR HIGHER. IF THE MONITOR HAD INDICATED THAT THERE WAS CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CAB; A PERSON COULD ONLY BE EXPOSED TO HIS LEVEL FOR ONE HOUR BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REMOVED TO FRESH AIR! WHEN MY WIFE AND I ARRIVED AT LINWOOD MOTORS RICK KUPPER AND KEVIN JONES REFUSED TO PUT THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C INTO THE MAINTENANCE SHOP BECAUSE THEY HAD EXPENDED ALL THE RESOURCES THE COMPANY WOULD ALLOW. AFTER THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C HAS SET IN MY YARD FOR 16 MONTHS CHRYSLER HAS FINALLY AGREED TO SETTLE AND BUYBACK THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE HAD A STROKE ON JUNE 20, 2014 AND OUR DOCTORS ADVISED US TO QUIT DRIVING THE 2013 CHRYSLER T&C; BECAUSE MY WIFE'S DOCTOR BELIEVES THE EXHAUST LEAK CONTRIBUTED TO HER STROKE.
