TRANSMISSION SLIP WHEN YOU TRY TO PARK ON AN INCLINED STREET VERY DIFFICULT TO PARK. HAD IT AT THE DEALER AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME ,THAT'S NORMAL.
2013 PENSTAR V3.6 KNOWN CYLINDER HEAD ISSUES LEFT BANK IS COVERED YET RIGHT BANK FAILURE IS COMPLETELY IGNORED BY CHRYSLER - ENGINE JUMPS AND MISSES AND AFFECTS DRIVEABILITYAND SAFETY DUE TO LOSS OF POWER AND ACCELERATION - DEALERSHIP CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY IGNORED THE ISSUE AND REFUSE TO COVER ANYTHING ON 108K ENGINE - SAD STATE OF US CAR MAKER
08/12/2017: I LEFT MY HOME & HAD ONLY TRAVELED A SHORT DISTANCE & THE ENTIRE VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING. THERE WAS NO POWER. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS BLACK & THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS BEST I COULD WITH NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. I TURNED THE KEY TO OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK 3 TRIES TO GET IT STARTED. I DID NOT DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN. IT IS NOW AT THE SECOND DEALERSHIP WAITING FOR DIAGNOSIS. I ALSO HAVE AN ESCALATED CASE OPEN WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. 8/9/2017: I HAD TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO THE DOCTOR FOR AN EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT. I STARTED THE VEHICLE. BACKED IT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. PUT IT IN PARK. THE VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT DARK & THE ENGINE STOPPED. IT TOOK 8 TRIES TO GET IT RESTARTED. I DID CALL & REPORT THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER. 8/3/2017: I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WAS FAILING TO START THE DAY BEFORE. IT TOOK 3-4 TRIES. IT ALSO RANDOMLY SHUT ITSELF OFF WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK. ALSO ONCE WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP UPON DROPPING IT OFF. THEY DROVE THE VEHICLE 60 MILES & COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT NEVER SHUT OFF WHILE THEY DROVE IT. THEY RETURNED IT TO ME BUT DID NOTE THE ERROR CODES WHEN THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC THAT THE VEHICLE HAD HAD SOME TYPE OF FAILURE. 7/11/2017: I HAD THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT USED FROM A YEAR PRIOR. THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE TO START & RANDOM POWER BLACK-OUTS WHILE DRIVING AS A SCREW BEING LOOSE ON THE BATTERY TERMINAL. CHARGED ME $200 TO TIGHTEN A SCREW & SENT ME ON MY WAY. SPRING 2017: CONTACTED ORIG. DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE WAS DOING SOMETHING ODD. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAD GONE BLACK, THE WIPERS WERE RUNNING AT FULL SPEED & COULD NOT BE SHUT OFF, YET THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING. 08/10/16: ENGINE LIGHT
MY VEHICLE STARTED SHUTTING OFF WHILE PARKED IT WOULD SHUT COMPLETY DOWN AS IF THE BATTER HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED, BUT IT WOULD ALWAYS RESTART AND I WOULD HAVE TO RESET MY RADIO CLOCK. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF THIS HAPPENING, IT BEGAN TO HAVE TROUBLE STARTING. IT WOULD TURN AND TURN LIKE A VEHICLE OUT OF GAS. EVENTUALLY IT WOULD START AT SOME POINT AFTER I STOPPED TRYING AND LET IT SIT FOR AWHILE. MY VEHICLE THEN SHUT DOWN TWICE WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MILES AND HOUR, BUT IT STARTED UP. I TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS TO GET DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND WAS TOLD THE TPIM MODULE IS GOING BAD AND THIS WOULD COST OVER $1400 TO REPAIR. I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED BY HOW MANY COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ONLINE ABOUT THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AS WELL AS OTHER CHRYSLERS AND DODGES HAVING THIS PROBLEM, BUT MORE SHOCKED AT THE FACT THAT THIS PROBLEM ISN'T BEING RECALLED IN THE TOWN AND COUNTRY. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND REALLY MAKES ME NEVER WANT TO BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER AGAIN. IT REALLY SUCKS BECAUSE THIS REPAIR IS MUCH TOO COSTLY FOR AN AMERICAN MADE CAR. I REALLY TRUST THAT ENOUGH PEOPLE WILL LET IT BE KNOWN SO SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS, AND THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED BY CHRYSLER.
WE PURCHASED OUR TOWN & COUNTRY NEW IN 2012. WE'VE PUT JUST OVER 51,000 MILES ON IT. IT'S BEEN A GREAT VEHICLE. WE'VE BEEN TO FLORIDA AND BACK TWICE (21 HR DRIVE), AND ALL OVER THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY. IT WAS A GREAT VEHICLE THUS FAR SO I EXPECTED IT TO LAST UNTIL WELL OVER 51,000 MILES. ALL OF A SUDDEN A FEW MONTHS AGO, WHILE DRIVING, THE VAN WOULD JUST SHUT OFF. LOSS OF POWER STEERING, RADIO OFF, NOTHING. YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH NO POWER STEERING, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND TURN IT BACK ON. IT DOES THIS RANDOMLY. IT'S DONE IT WHILE I'VE BEEN ON A HIGHWAY DRIVING 65 MPH AND IT'S DONE IT IN TOWN DRIVING 25-30 MPH. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, COULD POTENTIALLY KILL MY FAMILY, AND IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY OF THE SAME STORY I'VE READ ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO BE DIAGNOSED AND LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES AND NO ONE CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. IT'S PAID OFF SO IT'S GOING BYE BYE. WON'T EVER BUY A CHRYSLER AGAIN.
REAR AC EVAPORATOR ENDED UP HAVING A LEAK, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED LIKE MANY OTHER CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRYS AND DODGE CARAVANS OF THESE YEARS. APPARENTLY, IT'S PRETTY COMMON FOR THESE TO HAVE DAMAGE THROUGH NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE, CONSIDERING THE REAR EVAPORATOR IS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL WELL. THERE ISN'T ANY FORM OF PROTECTION FOR THIS PART OF THE SYSTEM, MAKING IT FRAGILE, AND NORMAL DRIVING WILL KICK UP ENOUGH ROCKS, DEBRIS, AND DIRT TO CAUSE DAMAGE. HAD MINE FIXED IN AUGUST 2017 ON A 2013 TOWN & COUNTRY, DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A RECALL. NOT THE CHEAPEST REPAIR IN THE WORLD, AT ROUGHLY $1,000, ALL DUE TO POOR DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS.
DASH LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF WHEN BRIGHTS ARE ON. CHIMES SOUNDING. VEHICLE HAS 44, 000 MILES ON IT. REPAIR TECH SAYS TIPM HAS TO BE REPLACED AT $1300. AT 33,000 MILES ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR SIMILAR SYMPTOMS.
THE PASSENGER SEAT HEAD REST HAD A PLASTIC PIECE THAT BROKE SPONTANEOUSLY INSIDE, AND THE FRONT PART OF THE HEAD REST IS POPPED OUT. I TRIED TO RESET IT USING THE MANUFACTURE'S INSTRUCTIONS, BUT SINCE THE PIECE IS BROKEN, IT WILL NOT GO BACK TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND UNOCCUPIED WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE PASSENGER HEAD RESTRAINT CAME UP AND HIT MY SON IN THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. NOT SURE IF IT IS PART OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM OR THE ANTI-WHIPLASH SYSTEM. FORTUNATELY HE WAS NOT SERIOUSLY HURT. CANNOT GET THE HEAD RESTRAINT BACK IN PLACE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD RESTRAINT SUDDENLY POPPED OPEN. THE AIR BAG INSIDE DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE COUNTRY DODGE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE HEAD RESTRAINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32033245 AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. ..UPDATED 10/25/17 *BF UPDATED 11/16/2017*JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (ZIMMER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 1086 BURLINGTON PIKE, FLORENCE, KY) WAS CONTACTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
MY 2013 TOWN AND COUNTRY LIMITED WITH 21403 MILES AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, GOES OFF AND REPEATS THIS CONTINUOUSLY AS I AM DRIVING. IT WILL COST ME $125.00 FOR A DIAGNOSIS. CONTACTED CHRYSLER, THEY ARE GOING TO WORK WITH ME AFTER THE DIAGNOSIS IS COMPLETED.
WHILE IN PARK, DRIVER WAS LEANING FORWARD TO REACH SOMETHING ON FLOOR WHEN HEAD REST SHOT FORWARD. INSPECTION REVEALED PLASTIC RETAINER HAD BROKEN ALLOWING THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT TO RELEASE. SAFETY CONCERN IS WHAT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING WITH HEAD NEAR THE HEAD REST?
THE INSIDE OF THE BACK ROTORS WERE SO CORRODED THAT THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 38K MILES. THE ROTORS WERE SLIGHTLY WARPED AND THIS CONDITION IMPACTS THE DRIVER'S ABILITIY TO STOP THE VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. AFTER TALKING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND READING THE ONLINE COMPLAINTS, CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP WITH THE REPAIR TO FIX THIS DESIGN ISSUE. NOTE: I ONLY HAD 10% WEAR ON THE PARTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THIS VAN WAS INSPECTED IN FEBRUARY BY A NYS INSPECTOR AND NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS OVER ROUGH TERRAIN, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION KEY FAILED AND THE IGNITION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE DRIVER-SIDE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT FIRED WITHOUT PROVOCATION WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. IT HIT MY WIFE IN THE HEAD. THE PLASTIC PARTS INSIDE THE HEAD REST ARE BROKEN AND CHALKY, LIKE PLASTIC LEFT TO SIT IN THE SUN TOO LONG. THIS PART IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE BUT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
VEHICLE WILL CRANK WITH IGNITION SWITCH IN ON POSITION. HOWEVER, IT WILL KEEP CRANKING AND WONT START. AFTER A COUPLE TRIES IT WILL FINALLY ROLL OVER AND START. VEHICLE HAS TURNED OFF WHILE IDLE FOR NO REASON BUT WILL START AFTER A COUPLE OF CRANKS.
RAISED THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT HEADREST AND IT CAME APART AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TOGETHER, IT WAS STATIONARY.
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH ABOUT 60,000 MILES ON IT IN 2016 AND SUDDENLY THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. IT'S SOLD AS A SAFETY FEATURE BUT THERE IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN THAT ALLOWS RAIN, SNOW, MUD ETC TO GET INTO THE SENSOR AND CREATE MALFUNCTION. THIS FEATURE ALERTS THE DRIVER WHEN THERE IS A VEHICLE IN THE BLIND SPOT, AND THE DRIVER RELYS ON THIS FEATURE QUITE A BIT BECAUSE THERE ARE HUGE BLIND SPOTS IN DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE CAR. WHEN THE SENSOR GOES OUT, IT COSTS 2000.00 TO FIX AND THERE IS A CHIME AND FLASHING LIGHTS EVERY MINUTE WHICH IS A HUGE DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING! AS AN OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, I'VE LEARNED TO RELY ON THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM TO ASSIST MY DRIVING AND KEEP ME SAFE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE VERY SERIOUS INJURIES.
THE DRIVER HEAD REST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, STRIKING THE DRIVER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, CAUSING MOMENTARY LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT NO ACCIDENT. THE HEAD REST WILL NOT GO BACK INTO NORMAL NON-DEPLOYED POSITION AFTER FOLLOWING THE ON-LINE INSTRUCTIONS FOR RE-SETTING THE HEAD REST.. AFTER CHECKING ON THE INTERNET FOR OTHER SUCH PROBLEMS OR RECALLS, FOUND THAT CHRYSLER DEALERS REFUSE TO CLASSIFY THIS AS A MANUFACTORING PROBLEM AND WILL ONLY REPAIR THIS PROBLEM AT OWNERS EXPENSE. I SAW THAT MULTIPLE OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2013 TOWN AND COUNTRY ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM, I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER.
THE HEADREST WHICH IS PART OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM, DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING AND HIT MY WIFE IN THE HEAD. THE HEADREST IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS PART SEEMS TO BE DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY CHRYSLER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION MADE A KNOCKING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATE UPON DRIVING LESS THAN 30 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,321.
THE SLIDING SIDE PASSENGER DOORS ON MY VAN WILL OCCASIONLY CLOSE BY THEMSELVES, JUST AFTER HAVING OPENED THEM TO LOAD PASSENGER. THIS IS EXTREMELY SCARY WHEN THE PASSENGERS ARE MY GRAND CHILDREN. HEARD OF OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, BUT THEY WERE WITH VEHICLE ON A INCLINE. MINE HAPPEN ON LEVEL SURFACE.
THE KEY FOB STOP WORKING. ONE BUTTON AT A TIME
I JUST PURCHASED A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR LIGHT HOUSING IS HOLDING WATER/CONDENSATION. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AS A RECALL AND FOUND IT IN OLDER VEHICLES, BUT DO NOT SEE IT LISTED FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT IT BE ON A RECALL LIST AS THE ISSUE HAS OBVIOUSLY NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THANK YOU AND MANY BLESSINGS! WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30MPH ON A CITY STREET THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED TO A LOW GEAR CAUSING THE ENGINE RPM TO GO UP TO 4000. THIS CAUSED THE MPH TO BE LIMITED TO ABOUT 20. THERE WERE NO 'ENGINE TROUBLE' OR OTHER WARNING LIGHTS. THE GEAR SHIFT STILL INDICATED 'DRIVE', NOT A LOWER GEAR. UPON STOPPING, THE GEAR SHIFT WAS MOVED TO ALL POSITIONS TO NO AFFECT; WHEN DRIVEN THE CAR REMAINED LOCKED IN A LOW GEAR. THE LOWER GEARS, BELOW DRIVE (1, 2,3) WERE NOT INDICATED WHEN THE LEVER WAS MOVED TO THE POSITION WHERE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDICATED. THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE CORRECTED ITSELF AND HAS NOT YET REOCCURRED AFTER SEVERAL MILES OF DRIVING, BUT ONLY HOURS AFTER IT OCCURRED. THIS SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT, WITHOUT WARNING, COULD BE SERIOUS AT HIGH SPEED AND CROWDED ROADS. IT IS SCHEDULED TO BE CHECKED BY A DEALER BUT THERE IS CONFLICTING VIEWS AS TO WHETHER A TROUBLE CODE WILL BE AVAILABLE NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT PRESENT. SCARY!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEEDS, A ROARING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN, METAL TO METAL AND CAUSED THE REAR CALIPERS TO STICK. THE CONTACT, WHO WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND CALLED SEVERAL UNKNOWN DEALERS TO PURCHASE THE REAR CALIPERS, HOWEVER, NONE OF THE DEALERS HAD CALIPERS IN STOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE NOT FULLY REPAIRED DUE TO LACK OF PARTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
THE TIPM IS JUNK. I HAVE TAKEN 3 PLACES TO BE CHECKED AND THE FIX IS $1000 FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS 37,400 MILES ON IT. IT STARTED AFTER THE ORIGINAL 36,000 MILES OF COURSE. IT WILL RANDOMLY NOT START IN THE MORNINGS OR AFTER IT SITS FOR 8 HOURS. IT'S AWFUL. IT'S BECOME A VEHICLE THAT YOU CAN'T TRUST.
MY ENGINE HAD A TICKING NOISE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN I WAS AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT. I WAS GOING TO ADDRESS IT ON MY UPCOMING OIL CHANGE, BUT ON MY WAY HOME WITH MY FAMILY EARLY JANUARY, WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, I HAD THE VAN SHAKE VERY VIOLENTLY AND START LOOSING POWER ON HIGHWAY 422, I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN AN MAJOR CAR ACCIDENT DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WAS STRUGGLING TO GAIN ANY SPEED TO BE ABLE TO GET HOME. THE VAN WOULD NOT GO PAST 35-40 MILES. I WAS GOING TO TAKE IT TO ANTHONY D'AMBROSIO CHRYSLER IN ELVERSON, PA BUT THEY WERE BACKED UP FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS SO I FOUND A DELAER WITH IMMEDIATE OPENINGS, QUIGLEY CHRYSLER IN BOYERTOWN, PA WHERE MY VAN HAS BEEN SITTING FOR OVER A MONTH. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE HAD CYLINDER #2 MISFIRE AND GAVE THEM CODE P0302 ALONG WITH P0300. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BY MY DEALER AS IT IS UNDER ORIGINAL POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND ALSO CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF VEHICLES WITH THAT 3.6 PENSTAR ENGINE HAVING THOSE ISSUES WHICH EVENTUALLY CAUSE A HEAD MALFUNCTION. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COIL WHICH MAKE NO SENSE TO ME AS I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER AND THE SERVICE MANUAL THAT SPARK PLUGS ARE TO BE CHANGED AT 100K MILES. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO CHRYSLER AT LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK FOR THE LAST MONTH AND ALWAYS KEEP GETTING A PROMISED CALL BACK FROM A SUPERVISOR/MANAGER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE BUT HAVE YET TO GET ANYONE TO EVER CALL ME BACK IN THE LAST 30+ DAYS. I NEED MY VAN FIXED ASAP AS I ONLY HAVE ONE OTHER VEHICLE AND WAS NOT EVEN OFFERED A LOANER WHILE THEY FIXED AND ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE.

P0456 DTC FOR EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM LEAK. BEEN FIXED TWICE BY REPLACING CONTROL VALVE AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR. COULD LEAD TO INCREASED EVAP EMISSIONS AND VIOLATE EPA REGULATIONS. DIAGNOSTIC TRIPS AT STARTUP WHILE STATIONARY.
NOT SURE THE PROBLEM, BUT WHEN THE PUSH BUTTON START IS USED IT SOMETIMES WONT START EVEN THOUGH IT IS TRYING TO TURN OVER. CHECKING THE INTERNET I SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING ITS THE NEW COMPUTER BOARD. THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM IF I HAVE MY WIFE OUT ON A TRIP AND THE BOARD OR WHATEVER IT IS FAILS. ALSO COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD IF ITS FUEL RELATED.
VEHICLE IS 3 YEARS OLD HOWEVER WE PURCHASED IT 1 YEAR AGO. WE HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE PURCHASE. TIPM FUEL RELAY WENT BAD NOT ALLOWING FUEL PUMP TO GET POWER AND START VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP DENIED ME BUYING REPAIR KIT CBWPR091AA BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. THIS IS A 16 DOLLAR FIX. INSTEAD THEY TRIED SELLING A WHOLE TIPM @ $869.00. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THIS. I'M FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE THE KNOW HOW TO DO IT MYSELF AND BOUGHT THE PART ONLINE AND DID THIS MYSELF.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD AND ALL THE AIR BAGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VAN DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. POLICE CAME TO THE SCENE AND MADE AN INCIDENT REPORT WHICH NOTES THAT THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT FIND ANY REASON WHY THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED.
WHEN I PRESS THE START POWER BUTTON, THE CAR WILL START AND THEN CUT OFF IMMEDIATELY. THIS HAPPENS REPEATEDLY AND THEN SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. SOMETIMES, I TURN OFF ALL OF THE ELECTRONICS IN MY VEHICLE AND THEN TRY TO START IT TO SEE IF THIS HELPS. SEEMS TO HAVE NO RHYME OR REASON WHY IT JUST WON'T START. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND MANY OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES FROM CHRYSLER ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2011.

SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED. FIRST INSTANCE REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG THORAX WITH AN OPEN CIRCUIT TO THE AIR BAG MODULE (09/21/2016). SECOND INCIDENT ALSO REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE THORAX WHICH ALSO HAD AN OPEN CIRCUIT TO THE AIR BAG MODULE (02/24/2017). INCIDENTS OCCURRED ANY TIME THE ENGINE RAN AND ON ANY TYPE OF ROADWAY09 SURFACE.
MY CONSOLE STOPPED WORKING AND MY FRONT BLOWER STOPPED WORKING. THE CONSOLE FINALLY STARTED WORKING BUT THE BLOWER IS STILL GOING IN AND OUT. I HAVE 52300 MILES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE CITY STREETS. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN NEXT DAY IT WAS RAINING AND WINDOW FOGGING AND THE BLOWER CUT OUT I COULD NOT SEE CLEARLY AND ALMOST CRASHED.
I HAVE MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY VAN THAT INVOLVES SEVERAL COMPONENTS INCLUDING MY AIRBAGS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE WIPERS OPERATE UNCONTROLABLY SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS COME ON INCLUDING THE AIRBAG LIGHT. THE BLIND SPOT INDICATORS AND PARK ASSIST AND TRACTION CONTROL ABS IS ALL UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF IT ACTING UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS ALL CHRYSLER AND NONE OF THEM CAN DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE ACTS UP NO MATTER WHAT IT IS DOING WHETHER IT IS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR STATIONARY. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE IT HAD 41,000 MILES ON IT AND SISNCE I PURCHASED IT USED WITH 41,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE TALKED WITH CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS AND THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO ME BY EMAIL OR PHONE CALL AT THIS TIME. THEY INITIALLY TALKED TO ME AND SAID THEY WOULD BE OF NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ME BECAUSE THE FACTORY WARRANTY IS UP, AND NOT THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO MY CALLS OR EMAILS.
BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM INOPERABLE. AFTER APPROX 45,000 MILES THE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR NO LONGER WORKS. DEALER CLAIMS IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE REAR SENSOR BEHIND THE BUMPER AND SINCE IT IS NOT CONSIDERED A "SAFETY ISSUE" BECAUSE IT CAN BE TURNED OFF IT WILL COST OVER $1000 TO FIX. WHO CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT A BLIND SPOT MONITOR AND CROSS PATH DETECTION IS NOT A SAFETY FEATURE THAT I PAID A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT IS WRONG TO NOT HAVE A RECALL AND/OR HAVE THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

OUR CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. WE OPENED THE SIDE DOOR THEN CLOSED IT. WHEN THE DOOR CLOSED THE BACK WINDOW BLEW OUT.
FRONT STRUTS ARE NOISY AND MECHANIC SAYS THE RUBBER TOP PLATES ARE DESTROYED. THEY ARE ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND CAR ONLY HAS 20,200 MILES ON IT. I FEEL THIS IS A PART PROBLEM FROM THE VENDOR SINCE NEW, AS NEWLY PURCHASED STRUTS FROM MONROE HAVE A LIFETIME REPLACEMENT WARRANTY. WITH THE MILEAGE ON THE T&C BEING SO LOW, AND CHRYSLER'S WARRANTY NOT EXCEEDING 3YRS/36,000MILES THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. THE CAR SITS IN THE SHADE BECAUSE OF TREE COVER, SO HEAT SHOULD NOT BE THE ISSUE. IT IS USED AS A LOCAL SEDAN WOULD NORMALLY BE USED WITH VERY LIMITED USAGE. THE WARRANTY SERVICE WAS PULLED BY CHRYSLER BUT THEY NEVER DETECTED THIS ISSUE. I AM A VIETNAM VET WITH HEARING ISSUES, HOWEVER THE FRONT END NOISE HAS INCREASED UNTIL I TOOK IT TODAY TO A MECHANIC. 1-2-18. TWO STRUTS HAVE BEEN QUOTED AT $800.
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 15 TO 20 MPH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH NO STEERING ASSIST OR BRAKING AID OR ANYTHING POWERED. AFTER COASTING TO A STOP AND SHIFTING INTO PARK THE ENGINE STARTED NORMALLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR OTHER INDICATORS OF A PROBLEM. IT WAS LIKE THE SWITCH HAD SIMPLY BEEN TURNED OFF EXCEPT THAT IT WAS PHYSICALLY STILL IN THE RUN POSITION AND HAD TO BE TURNED TO OFF TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE ENGINE.
