THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT CAME WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER AND THEY TOLD ME A SENSOR HAD GONE OUT AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS WOULD OPERATE IF IN AN ACCIDENT. THE COST TO REPLACE THIS PART WILL COST ME $600.00
SAFETY FEATURE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM WON'T SHUT OFF, STARTED TO KEEP WARNING LIGHTS ON WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE AND THEY WON'T SHUT OFF.

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD REAT ANTI WHIPLASH MECHANISM DEPLOYED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, ENGINE RUNNING. I OPENED A COMPLAINT WITH DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY SAID IM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST EVEN THOUGH SERVICE MANAGER STATES IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. OPENED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER FINANCIAL, BUT NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON THE DEFECT BECAUSE I TURNED THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIFFERENT MAKE. NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO STICK ME WITH A BILL THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS INCLUDING THE HORN AND POSSIBLY THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG ARE INTERMITTENT. >>SO FAR ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE STOPPED & DRIVING ALL ELECTRICAL PARTS OF THE STEERING WHEEL HAVE JUST QUIT FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN FOR NO REASON BEGIN WORKING AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY EVERY TIME IT GOES DEAD AND WE ARRANGE TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE IT STARTS WORKING AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN AND NOT INTERMITTENT. SINCE CHRYSLER MINIVANS HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST FOR THIS "CLOCK SPRING" PROBLEM, CHRYSLER SHOULD AUTHORIZE REPLACEMENT OF THIS KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT (NO HORN OR AIRBAG INTERMITTENTLY WITH OUT WARNING) WITHOUT BEING REQUIRED TO DO SO BY THE GOVERNMENT. I GUESS I COULD AUTHORIZE THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE KNOWN INTERMITTENT CLOCK SPRING AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND THEN HOPE THAT SOONER OR LATTER THE RECALL IS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THE 2013 MODEL YEAR. OR I CAN HOPE IT QUITS LONG ENOUGH TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER WITH DEAD ELECTRICAL PARTS ON THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE MY 36 MONTH/36,000 MILE WARRANTY RUNS OUT THIS JUNE . I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE WHEEL WHILE STOPPED AND WHILE DRIVING TO BOTH GET IT WORKING AGAIN WHEN NOT WORKING AND ALSO TO GET IT GO GO DEAD AGAIN AT THE DEALER WHEN IT WAS WORKING BUT THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM DOES NO SEEM TO HAVE ANY PATTERN OF BE EFFECTED BY STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT. THE THIRD TIME IT QUITE WAS SATURDAY NIGHT 9 JAN 2016 AND BEGAN WORKING ON MONDAY 11 JAN 2016 ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was flashing. Additionally, the Auto Start feature was inoperable. The contact also stated that the heater was activated independently. While driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the hood latch had been seized, and the electrical system was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the dealer declined to service the vehicle and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT AT APPROX. 60 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL WHEN UNEXPECTEDLY, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON, THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY ACCELERATED, AND THE HIGH BEAMS FLASHED ON, AND ALL THE DASH/WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AT ONCE. THIS LASTED FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN EVERYTHING WENT BLACK, THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE ENGINE DID NOT STOP RUNNING. WE CONTINUED DRIVING, BUT IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. WE SUSPECT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIPM, BUT IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE AND WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE IT.

ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE VAN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT'S HAPPENED AT LEAST THREE MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. TAKING THE VAN TO DEALERSHIP NEXT WEEK FOR OIL CHANGE AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT AGAIN. IT HAPPENED ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY AND TWICE ON THE STREET DURING RUSH HOUR
POWER BRAKE BOOSTER HAS GONE BAD ON A 2013 VEHICLE. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CURRENT RECALL #P14 - SAFETY RECALL - BRAKE BOOSTER / 2011-2014 (WD) DODGE DURANGO AND (WK) JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER THIS. THE BOOSTER WENT OUT ON MY CAR WHILE I WAS IN MOTION ON A ROADWAY THAT WAS UNOCCUPIED BY OTHER DRIVERS AT THE TIME. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR SAFELY TO A STOP.
WHEN RETURNING TO MY PARKED VAN. THE VAN WOULD NOT START THEN NOTICE THAT THE VAN WAS READING THAT THE SHIFT GEARING THE REVERSE POSITION, BUT THE SHIFT GEAR WAS IN THE PARK POSIT. THE SHIFT GEAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. HAD TO HAVE THE VAN TOWED. WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER IS THAT THE SHIFT CABLE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACE. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YR OLD, AND HAS ONLY 80000 ON IT MILES. WAS PARKED ON A CITY STREET.
VAN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH NO ADVANCE WARNING. COULD NOT EVEN PUT VAN IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT OFF THE ROAD. NEEDS ALTERNATOR REPLACED. VAN IS ONLY 2 1/2 YEARS OLD, LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS HAVE RECALLS FOR ALTERNATOR, BUT NOT THE 2013 TOWN & COUNTRY YET DEALER CANNOT GET AN ALTERNATOR DUE TO OVERWHELMING PROBLEMS THE PART IS OUT OF STOCK.

PULLED INTO PARKING LOT, BRAKES FELT FUNNY, MADE TURN INTO PARKING SPACE AND BRAKES FROZE, RESULTING INTO MY HITTING SIDE OF STORE BUILDING - RUSHED TO TRAUMA CENTER. BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, GOING VERY SLOW. VERY FRIGHTENING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY ON AUG 13TH AROUND 9PM WHEN SUDDENLY THE HOOD OF MY MINIVAN FLEW OPEN AND SMACKED MY WINDSHIELD. EVERYTHING WENT BLACK IN FRONT OF ME DUE TO THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERING AND THE HOOD UP AGAINST THE CAR. I WAS FORCED TO NAVIGATE MYSELF AND MY NEWBORN TWINS ACROSS THE 4 LANE HIGHWAY UNABLE TO SEE A THING. LUCKILY I MADE IT WITHOUT CAUSING A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. WHEN THE OFFICER ARRIVED HE POINTED OUT THE LATCH OF THE HOOD DID NOT SIMPLY COME UNDONE BUT THE BOLTS WERE ACTUALLY STRIPPED OUT AND THE ENTIRE MECHANISM HAD DEFAULTED. HE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED ME TO CONTACT CHRYSLER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THE FOLLOWING MORNING. MY MINIVAN HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED NOR HAD WE HAD ANY PROBLEMS OR CONCERNS WITH THE HOOD BEFORE. MY MINIVAN STILL REMAINS AT THE BODY SHOP WAITING TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE CHRYSLER CLAIMS THEY ARE IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE VEHICLE.
I HAVE A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN. IT IS SPECIALLY EQUIPPED WITH A LIFT AND HAND CONTROLS DUE TO MY BEING A DISABLED DRIVER. ON AUGUST 7. 2015, ME AND MY FAMILY WERE HEADING HOME TO WEST VIRGINIA FROM NEW YORK, AND THE VAN STALLED. WE WAITED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND IT STARTED UP AGAIN. WE WENT ON OUR WAY FOR A WHILE, AND HAD TO STOP FOR GAS. WHEN WE TRIED TO START THE ENGINE, NOTHING HAPPENED. IT WAS DEAD, LONG STORY SHORT, WE CALLED A WRECKER AND HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND HAD TO RENT A CAR TO GET BACK HOME. WE CALLED THE DEALER A FEW DAYS LATER AND IT TURNS OUT THE PROBLEM IS THE TIPM DEVICE WHICH IS THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT EFFECTS THE WHOLE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS HAD THE VAN FOR 3 WEEKS NOW, WAITING FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, I HAVE DISCOVERED THERE IS A NATIONAL BACKORDER FOR THIS PARTICULAR PART, AND THERE IS ACTUALLY A CLASS ACTION SUITE AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. I'M JUST CURIOUS TO KNOW WHY, IF THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, WHY ARE THEY STILL INSTALLING THESE DEVICES KNOWING THEY MAY ULTIMATELY FAIL. AS I SAID IN THE BEGINNING, I AM A DISABLED DRIVER, NOW WITHOUT MY WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE VAN. SO I AM HAVING TO DEPEND ON MY ELDERLY FATHER TO GET ME TO AND FROM WORK. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF CONTINUALLY WHEN I AM DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. FAILED TO STAY SHUT OFF AFTER BEING PARKED IN THE GARAGE, EVIDENTLY RAN OUT OF GAS. I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR THE NEXT MORNING TO OVER 120 DEGREES, THE VAN STEERING WHEEL WAS TO HOT TO TOUCH, I PUSHED THE START BUTTON AND THE SCREEN SAID "SYSTEM IS HOT" . I KNOW I HAD SHUT THE VAN OFF BECAUSE THE RADIO STOPS PLAYING WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AFTER TURNING IT OFF. NOW THE VAN WON'T RUN. I HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON THE EXPRESSWAY, WIPERS STARTED FIRST, WINDOW ACTIVATED, AIRBAG FAILURE LIGHT, ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHING ON AND OFF, SPEED AND TACH. FAILURE, WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WITHOUT GETTING HIT. ON TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF IT WOULD NOT RE-START. ABOUT 30 MIN. LATER, IT STARTED, HOWEVER, HAD A TOTAL LOSS OF SPEED, TACH, DASH LIGHTS FLASHING, WIPERS, WINDOW CONTROL FAILURE IN THE DOWN POSITION, AIRBAG FAILURE WARNING, NO TURN SIGNALS OR HEAD LIGHTS. AT DEALER: VEHICLE STILL IN WARRANTY AND A WEEK AFTER DROP OFF TOLD IT WAS THE TIPMS COMPUTER AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. A WEEK LATER NO PARTS WITH A PROJECTED DATE OF (ON INDEFINITE BACK ORDER), DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE A VEHICLE. CALL CHRYSLER AT 800.992-1997 AND 800-247-8753, NO HELP AT ALL, JUST KICKED THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD AND PLAYED ROPE A DOPE FOR 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE! STILL PAYING HUNDREDS A MONTH FOR THE CAR THAT WE CAN NOT DRIVE AND PAYING 300 WEEK FOR A RENTAL. LAST CHRYSLER WE WILL HAVE AND NEED TO DUMP THIS ONE !!!
