MY 2014 T&C WILL SHUT DOWN WHEN DRIVING. THE POWER STEERING AND ALL ELECTRICAL GOES OUT. THIS HAPPENS MOST FREQUENTLY WHEN I'M SLOWING DOWN FOR A TURN, LEAVING ME IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING IN BOTH CITY DRIVING AS WELL AS TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY IN A SUBDIVISION. IT HAPPENED ONCE RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT THE VAN IN 2015, BUT HAS BEGUN TO GET MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. THE DATE I'M PUTTING AS THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT IS THE MOST RECENT.
WITHIN WARRANTY, PASSENGER SIDE TAKATA INFLATORS WAS REPLACED NO CHARGE. A YEAR LATER AFTER WARRANTY THE DRIVERS SIDE SIGNALS A PROBLEM ON THE DASHBOARD. DEALER SAYS IS WILL COST $700.00 TO REPLACE. REPORTED TO THE PENN SAFETY COMMISSION, AND TO CHRYSLER. LAST YEAR 2017. NO ONE IS WILLING TO STAND BY THE PRODUCT WITH CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY. I AM A 64 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER. FIRST TIME CHRYSLER BUYER AND THE LAST TIME TOO. TRIED TO STAY A DEDICATED AMERICAN MADE BUYER,,,, HOWEVER,,, NO RESPECT FOR WHO I AM AS A CONSUMER, OR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY.
MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE VAN ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WITH BRAKES APPLIED, OVER ACCELERATED, AND WENT IN REVERSE WHILE IN DRIVE. IT HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. IT LOST POWER WHILE DOING 55 ON THE HIGHWAY, AND ALSO MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE ON CITY STREETS. IT HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIR THREE TIMES AND IS STILL BEING REPAIRED. ATTACHED ARE INVOICES FROM THE FIRST TWO REPAIRS.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. FEB-8, 2017 WAS FOURTH TIME THIS OCCURRED IN LAST 4 MONTHS. HAS HAPPENED WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, TURNING LEFT INTO AN INTERSECTION, AND DRIVING 35MPH STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET. WEATHER HAS BEEN BOTH WARM AND COLD, VAN HAS BEEN WELL WARMED UP OR RECENTLY-STARTED; THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A NOTICEABLE PATTERN. THE BEHAVIOR IS SIMILAR TO WHAT IT WOULD BE IF THE KEY FOB WAS TURNED FROM ON TO ACC -- E.G. THE RADIO IS STILL PLAYING BUT THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. ALL POWER TO BRAKES AND STEERING IS LOST; I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAGS ARE STILL FUNCTIONING AT THIS POINT. IN ALL FOUR CASES, THE CAR WAS EASILY RE-STARTED BY FIRST TURNING THE KEY FOB TO OFF, THEN STARTED AGAIN. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CAN OCCUR SEEMINGLY AT ANY TIME, WITHOUT NOTICE.
THE SECOND ROW PASSENGER SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK IN A SEVERE FRONT CRASH RESULTING IN SEVERE INJURIES TO THE TWO PASSENGERS SEATED THERE. THE RIGHT PASSENGER HIT THE REAR OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT RESULTING IN BROKEN STERNUM, RIBS AND SOME INTERNAL INJURIES. THE LEFT PASSENGER SLID FORWARD AND RECEIVED SHIN DAMAGE CRACKED STERNUM AND SEVERE WHIPLASH. WE WERE HIT BY A SIDEWAYS SLIDING TRAILBLAZER THAT HAD LOST CONTROL ON A TWO LANE MOUNTAIN ROAD. WE WERE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30MPH( OUR CAR EASTBOUND) AND THE SIDEWAYS SLIDING CAR(WESTBOUND) HIT US AT APPROXIMATELY 50+ MPH...UPDATED 03/01/17 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN OIL LEAK COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE HOUSING THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
ENGINE STALLS RANDOMLY, WHILE IN MOTION, HIGHWAY, CITY, COUNTRY. VEHICLE JUST STOPS RUNNING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL STEERING, STOPPING. NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES, DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEHIND NEARLY CRASHING INTO OURS, AND THE VEHICLE MUST BE PULLED OFF THE ROAD WHILE ABRUPTLY DECELERATING WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHEN YOU MUST CROSS SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC, AS THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE RESTARTED WHILE MOVING. VEHICLE HAS 56K MILES. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. VEHICLE MUST BE PUT INTO PARK TO RESTART REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE PULLED OFF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE OFTEN DOES NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, THEY DUPLICATED AND VERIFIED THE STALLING ISSUE AND SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE WIN MODULE, WHICH WE AGREED TO HAVE THEM DO, BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IT IS A EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SAFETY CONCERN. PRICE $700. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS AN EARLIER RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2008 TO 2010 MODEL. WE FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. MANY TIMES WE HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THESE INCIDENTS CAUSE ALL PASSENGERS TO BE DISTRESSED. PROBLEMS STARTED IN DEC 2016 AND WAS INFREQUENT AT FIRST BUT BECAME VERY FREQUENT IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH. CHECKED BY A LOCAL SHOP IN FEBRUARY. THEY SUGGESTED TAKING IT TO THE DEALER.
BLIND SPOT SENSORS ON BOTH SIDES ARE NOT WORKING. I HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM. I'VE HAD THEM IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES. PASSENGER SIDE SENSOR WAS REPLACED ONCE AND DRIVERS SIDE TWICE BUT PROBLEMS KEEP REOCCURING. INDICATOR ON DASH READS SERVICE BLIND SPOT SENSOR.
REAR AC EVAPORATOR MADE OUT OF ALUMINUM AND EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS BY PLACEMENT HAS CORRODED AND THERE IS NOW A LEAK. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REOCCURRING PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE, YET STILL MADE YEAR AFTER YEAR THE SAME WAY. THIS IS ALSO A COSTLY REPAIR, COSTING BETWEEN $1500 - $2000 BECAUSE THE FRAME NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO REPAIR IN MOST CASES. NOT TO MENTION THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS THIS IS HAVING ON THE ATMOSPHERE BY LEAKING THESE CHEMICALS. (THERE IS A LOT OF RESEARCH BEHIND THIS). MY VEHICLE, NOW ONLY 3 YEARS OLD IS USELESS BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY CONCERN OF ALLOWING MY CHILDREN TO RIDE IN A CAR DURING 90 DEGREE WEATHER WITHOUT ANY COOL AIR. IT IS A HOT BOX INSIDE. EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN, YOU CAN NOT RIDE IN THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES AT A TIME WITHOUT BEING SEVERELY OVERHEATED.
MY BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT FOR NO REASON. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY BRAKES STARTED HISSING AIR AND VIBRATING, ALMOST COULDN'T STOP. I HAVE A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THIS PART SHOULD LAST FOR 10 YEARS!! THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE DODGE DURANGO AND JEEP CHEROKEE. WHY IS THERE NOT ONE FOR CHRYSLER? THIS IS COSTING ME $600.00! NOT HAPPY WITH CHRYSLER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY SUDDENLY I FELT THE STEERING VERY HARD AND I AM LOSING SPEED. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE HWY WHICH WAS VERY HARD, HARD TO STOP (NO BRAKES). I ASKED MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME TO PUT IN PARK OR NEUTRAL AND START THE CAR, AFTER IT HAPPENED 2 MORE TIME, SO TWO WEEKS AFTER THE LAST ONE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT HE COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NO REPAIRS MADE AND I AM VERY SCARED TO DRIVE. *TR
HAD VAN AT DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR HAVING TO CRANK TO START, ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE & LOSS OF POWER. CRANK SENSOR WAS REPLACED TWICE DUE TO WIRING HARNESS BEING OUT OF PLACE, BROKEN OPEN ON BOTTOM & HAD CORRODED WIRES. WIRES FIXED & HARNESS SECURED. HAD SAME PROBLEMS 2 WEEKS LATER. SOME WIRING FIXED & PCM REPLACED. JUST OVER 1 MONTH LATER I WAS DRIVING 75MPH ON EXPRESSWAY AFTER HAVING JUST PASSED A SEMI-TRUCK WHEN I FELT A SUDDEN "GIVE" AND MY VAN BEGAN TO DECELERATE RAPIDLY. I PUSHED ON THE ACCELORATOR BUT THERE WAS NO POWER OR RESPONSE. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND NO WARNING LIGHTS SHOWED ON THE DASH. I KNEW THE POWER STEERING WOULD BE AFFECTED TOO (BASED ON THIS PREVIOUSLY HAPPENING AT ABOUT 15 MPH) AND WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO GET PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY. TURNED VAN OFF & RESTARTED. IT SEEMED FINE SO I GOT OFF THE EXPRESSWAY AT THE EXIT RAMP THAT WAS IN SIGHT AND TOOK A SECONDARY ROAD BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD MY VAN FOR A WEEK AND WEREN'T GETTING ANY CODES ON THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE POWER LOSS. I HAD TO TAKE MY VAN BACK BECAUSE THE LOANER VEHICLE AUTHORIZED BY CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE HAD TO BE GIVEN BACK SINCE THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM WITH MY VAN! IF THE POWER LOSS I EXPERIENCED AT 75MPH HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I WOULD'VE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. SINCE I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE NOT BEEN IN TRAFFIC I ONLY HAVE A DEALERSHIP INVOICE TO VERIFY MY COMPLAINT.
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR MOTOR BEGINS TO OPERATE ON ITS OWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ON OR OFF. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN AT A DEALER 3 TIMES FOR REPAIR WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. THIS TIME IT ALSO HAS CAUSED COMPLETE FAILURE OF SEVERAL BATTERY CELLS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE HAZARDOUS TO DRIVING AS THE VEHICLE DOES STILL START AND DRIVE, HOWEVER, THERE ARE TIMES IT DOES SHUT OFF DUE TOT HE BATTERY ISSUE.
GAS WAS POURING OUT OF THE FLUE LINE LINE DOWN OVER THE GAS TANK ONTO THE FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING EMPTYING OUT THE GAS TANK. DID NOT KNOW THE EXTENT OF THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED. IT WAS THEN THAT I WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO GET CLEARANCE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO TOW. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM I REALIZED THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT AFIRE WHILE DRIVING CAUSING BODY INJURIES TO ALL THAT WERE IN THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. HAVE NO PICTURES AT PRESENT TO UPLOAD SINCE THE VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS. HOPEFULLY, I CAN OBTAIN PICTURE(S) TO SUBMIT AT A LATER DATE.
MATERIAL SELECTION OF GAS TANK FITTING AND HARD LINES RELATED TO EMISSIONS AND FUEL DELIVERY HAVE ATTRACTED RODENTS TO CHEW ON THE TANKS AND HARDLINES. THE RESULT IS THAT THE VEHICLE NO LONGER MEETS EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS WITHOUT COSTLY REPAIRS. SPOKE TO 2 LOCAL DEALERS WHO INDICATED THEY SEE THIS ISSUE 2-3 TIMES A MONTH EACH. DAMAGE APPEARS TO MANIFEST ITSELF AS SOON AS 8/16/2016 AS THAT WAS THE FIRST INSTANCE WE HAD A VERY SMALL EVAPORATIVE LEAK CODE IN THE COMPUTER AND TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR. MANUFACTURE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO PREVENT THE PARTS FROM BEING "TASTY". ANYTHING FROM CHANGING THE COMPOSITION OF THE MATERIAL TO ADDING PROTECTIVE TAPE IS BETTER THAN THROWING UP THEIR HANDS AND SAYING IT IS THE RODENTS FAULT.
TIPM MODULE DEFECTIVE LEAVING MY VEHICLE STRANDED HAD TO BE TOWED HOME WITH MY KIDS, BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE, WITH NO LUCK BUT A 200 SERVICE FEE AND NO CORRECTION, I CALLED CHRYSLER CORP DIRECTLY AND WAS HUNG UP ON SAYIN THEY WILL DO NOTHING WHEN ASK TO SPEAK TO MANAGER. THE OCCASIONS I WENT TO GET GAS MAYBE 4 MIN FILLED GAS CAR WOULDN'T START WAITED 2 HRS 4 TOW TRUCK, OTHER TIMES WAS IN HIGHWAY CAR STARTED SHAKING PULLED OVER AGAIN CAR WOULDN'T START GIVING ME A LIGHTING BOLT ERROR CODE IN DASH BOARD I PAY 467 A MONTH AND SPENT LETS SEE 200 3 TIMES FOR TOWING 189.99 AT DEALERSHIP TWICE IN ONE [XXX] MONTH AND CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE IN THERE CARS AND WONT RECALL IT. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT WAS A VERY HOT DAY, BUT WE HAD JUST HAD A RAINSTORM. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME ON THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN A HEARD LOUD BOOM. I CHECKED MY WINDOWS NOTHING AROUND ME. I LOOKED UP AND OPENED THE SUNROOF COVER, AND SAW MY SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED INTO TINY PIECES WITH A LARGE HOLE IN THE TOP. I IMMEDIATELY CLOSED THE COVER SO THAT THE GLASS DIDN'T FALL IN MY CAR ONTO MY CHILDREN.
RADIO, GAUGES, TURN SIGNALS, AND AC RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. WIPERS TURN ON AT THE SAME TIME. SOME TIMES FOR SECONDS, SOMETIMES FOR HOURS.

THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A TRIGGER AS IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, BACK ROADS AND EVEN STOPPED IN THE DRIVEWAY. NO WAY TO RESET THE CAR ONCE IT IS IN DEAD RADIO/AC/GAUGES MODE, IT WILL ONLY RESET ITSELF, AGAIN RANDOMLY. I TRIED PULLING THE BATTERY CABLE AND WAITING, THEN RE-ATTACHING TO NO AVAIL.
VEHICLE GAUGE CLUSTER SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS/CHIMES GO OFF AND ON, THE WIPERS TURN ON, THE A/C SHUTS DOWN, NO FUEL GAUGE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY NO TURN SIGNALS OR SPEEDO. I HAVE NARROWED IT DOWN TO A BAD BLIND SPOT SENSOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I CANT BELIEVE A FAILED SENSOR WOULD CAUSE SUCH SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE SENSOR IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE THE CAR SAFER. VERY DISAPOINTED IN CHRYSLER RIGHT NOW FOR SHODDY CRAFTSMANSHIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DASHBOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE RESEALED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V044000 (VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. ....UPDATED 08/29/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO HEAT PRESSURE BUILD UP, POOR SEALING, AND ALSO AN IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT INDEPENDENTLY ROLLED BACK AND CRASHED INTO A CARPORT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE RIBS, ELBOW, AND KNEES, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,100.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES HAY WIRE. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND 12 HRS LATER THE CAR DIED. THE BATTERY WAS JUMP STARTED 3 TIMED AND IT RAN FOR A WHILE BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS, ITS AUTOMATIC, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON. I FINALLY WOULD NOT MOVE ON THE LAST JUMP START THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS LOCKED AND ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANELS WERE ERRATIC.
MY 4 YEAR OLD CHILD WAS BUCKLED IN HIS BOOSTER SEAT WHEN THE SEATBELT LOCKED AS HE BUCKLED WHICH THEN LET TO HIM BEING TANGLED AROUND THE NECK SINCE IT WAS IN THE LOCKED POSITION THE ONLY WAY TO RELEASE IS TO COMPLETELY RETRACT OR CUT BEING HE WAS BEING STRANGULATED THE ONLY WAY WAS TO CUT THE BELT. ALL VEHICLES NEED TO HAVE AN EMERGENCY RELEASE OR SOME SORT OF RELEASE. IF I DIDN'T HAVE A PAIR OF SCISSORS IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUSLY BAD SITUATION. NOT EVEN SURE OF THE PURPOSE OF THE LOCKING WHEN FULLY PULLED OUT AS A SAFETY FEATURE.. THE MIDDLE BUCKLE HAS A RELEASE TO FOLD THE SEATS BACK.. WHY AREN'T ALL SEATS BELTS LIKE THAT? I FOUND HUNDREDS OF POST ABOUT CHILDREN GETTING TANGLED IN LOCKED SEAT BELTS.. IT'S DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! I WAS PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENED IN A VERY RURAL AREA 20 MIN FOR LOCAL EMS OR FIRE DEPARTMENTS. IT'S A SCARY SITUATION AND COULD SIMPLY BE RESOLVED BY ADDING AN EMERGENCY RELEASE OF SOME SORT! OF COURSE THE COST OF REPLACING A SEAT BELT IS MILD COMPARED TO A LIFE OF A HUMAN BUT STILL IT COULD BE PREVENTED 100% BY AN EMERGENCY RELEASE.
THE TIRE SYSTEM LIGHT STAYS ON. THE DEALER STATE TIES ARE NEW. I INFLATED ALL THE TIRES TO THE RECOMMENDED PRESSER. CHRYSLER CORPORATION SAID VEHICLE VIN NUMBER NOT UNDER THE SAME RECALL # P63
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT TWISTED TOWARDS THE WINDOW, FELL BACKWARDS, AND FRACTURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, A CONCUSSION, AND NERVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND FACE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. I THINK THE VISIBILITY OF THE GEAR SELECTOR ON THE DASHBOARD IS VERY POOR. WHEN I AM SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, I CAN NOT SEE WHAT GEAR THE CAR IS IN BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL IS IN THE WAY OF THE DASHBOARD. THE GEAR SHIFT ON THE DASHBOARD HAS NO LABELS TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT GEAR IT IS IN. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE OF MY VIEW THAT DOCUMENTS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD A CRASH BUT HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN I AM BACKING UP THAT I HAVE THE CAR IN THE RIGHT GEAR. THIS ISSUE WOULD BE IN EFFECT EVERY TIME A GEAR IS SHIFTED. IT IS A CONSTANTLY OCCURRING ISSUE.
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY OF 2016. AT THAT TIME, EVERYTHING WAS FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND WORKING CORRECTLY. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE WEATHER WARMED UP (STARTED APPROXIMATELY IN APRIL OF 2016) THAT WE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, WHILE STATIONARY NOR WHILE IN MOTION AT TIMES. THIS HAPPENS ANY TIME, BUT IT PARTICULARLY HAPPENS WHEN THE WEATHER IS ABOVE 75 DEGREES. THE DOOR HAS A PROBLEM LATCHING CLOSED COMPLETELY. THE DOOR WITH MAKE A JERKING NOISE AS IF IT'S TRYING TO CLOSE, AND IT DOES NOT STOP UNTIL WE PUSH FORCEFULLY ON THE REAR OF THE DOOR TO CATCH THE LATCH. THE DOOR INDICATOR LIGHT ALSO FLASHES ON AND OFF AS THE DOOR IS ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE COMPLETELY. THIS ALSO HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. IF THERE IS THE SLIGHTEST BUMP, THE DOOR WILL START TO MAKE THE NOISE AS IF IT'S TRYING TO LATCH. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN WE CAN SEE THE DAYLIGHT THROUGH THE DOOR BECAUSE THE DOOR ISN'T CLOSED PROPERLY. THIS STARTED OUT AS A SPORADIC ISSUE BUT IT HAS INCREASINGLY OCCURRED OVER THE YEARS. WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND SOLUTIONS FOR A WHILE NOW. IT HAS BEEN WORSE THIS YEAR AND MORE DANGEROUS WITH BEING ABLE TO SEE THE DAYLIGHT/ROADWAY WHILE DRIVING IF IT'S NOT CLOSED COMPLETELY. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FOR ANYONE. WE KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY FAMILY WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT ARE HAVING THESE ISSUES. WE JOINED A GROUP THREAD ON CARGURUS.COM WHERE SO MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. I'VE CONTACTED MOPAR/CHRYSLER AND THE ONLY RESPONSE I RECEIVED IS THAT MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND I NEED TO PAY FULL PRICE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED. OUR VAN WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY WITH OUR KIDS INSIDE. WHEN MY WIFE OPENED THE DRIVER'S DOOR IT BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, DRAGGING MY WIFE AND WITH OUR TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VAN. THE VAN WENT ACROSS THE STREET STRIKING A NEIGHBORS AC UNIT. MY WIFE SUFFERED A BROKEN ARM, SPRAINED ANKLE, AND A GASH ON HER CHIN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED FOR THE INCIDENT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE.
I WAS AT A CRAWL LETTING PEDESTRIANS CROSS THE ROAD AT CHURCH AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART IT. RAN FINE. ABOUT 5 MILES LATER, CAME TO A STOP LIGHT AND SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAVE READ MANY ISSUES WITH THIS HAPPENING HIGHER RATES OF SPEED AND I'M WORRIED BECAUSE MY WIFE AND 1 YEAR OLD DRIVE THIS VEHICLE 75 MILES 5 DAYS A WEEK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND DEALER WHO DISCONNECTED THE RADIO AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SECOND DEALER DID NOT INDICATE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE TEMPERATURE INCREASE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND CAUSED A CRACK IN THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY OTHER THAN HAVING THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED BY A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE IN A BUSY SHOPPING CENTER. FORTUNATELY I WAS PARKING IN FRONT OF A GRASSY AREA WHERE THERE WERE NO PARKED CARS OR PEOPLE PRESENT. AS I SLOWLY PULLED IN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, MY CAR ACCELERATED IN AN ABRUPT MANNER UP INTO THE GRASSY AREA. IT WOULD HAVE KEPT GOING BUT WAS STOPPED BY AN ICY MOUND OF SNOW. MY FOOT NEVER LEFT THE FOOT PEDAL. I AM ONLY FIVE FEET TALL AND I HAVE SMALL FEET. THE GAS PEDAL WAS NO WHERE NEAR MY FOOT. THE SPEED THE CAR ACCELERATED AT WAS FRIGHTENING. MY 11-YEAR-OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME. SEVERAL PEOPLE TRIED TO SHOVEL ME OUT OF THIS SPOT TO GET MY CAR OFF THE HILL, BUT THEY WERE UNSUCCESSFUL BECAUSE THE SNOW BANK WAS ALL ICE AND THEY COULD NOT SHOVEL IT. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED OUT OF THIS SPOT BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK ON THE SNOW BANK WHICH WAS THE VERY THING THAT STOPPED THE CAR FROM GOING FARTHER IN AN UNCONTROLLED WAY. THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE CODES AND NOTHING CAME UP. MY CAR WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING STRANGE BEFORE THIS EVENT AND IS NOT DOING ANYTHING STRANGE NOW WHICH IS EVEN MORE FRIGHTENING BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE A TICKING TIME BOMB THAT CAN REPEAT THIS EVENT WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER. I WILL BE CALLING CHRYSLER AFTER WRITING THIS COMPLAINT.

THE DEALER PLACED A DEVICE IN THE CAR TO TAKE A SNAPSHOT WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT HAPPENED AND THE CODES P0016. THE DEALER REPLACED CAM PHASERS-BANK 1 (REAR HEAD). THEN THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICKUP AND MY WIFE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT OUT OF THE PARKING LOT BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. ACCORDING TO THE REPAIR STATEMENT DATED ON JAN 18,2016, NOTHING ELSE HAD BEEN ACCOMPLISHED. THE DEALER HAD BEEN WORKING WITH STAR TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CENTER TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. MY WIFE THEN STALLED AGAIN THIS MORNING ON JAN 26, 2016. THIS MATTER IS VERY SERIOUS AND SHOULD BE HANDLED BEFORE A LIFE IS LOST DRIVING. ACCORDING TO OTHER COMPLAINTS, THERE ARE 7 AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL YEAR OF THIS VAN.

I HAD A OIL CHANGE. 6 DAYS LATER I FOUND OIL ON MY GARAGE FLOOR. ONE DAY BEFORE NO OIL. TOOK VAN TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD OIL COOLER LEAKING. HAD TO ADD 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO MAKE IT DEALER. NO WARNING LIGHTS OF LOW OIL. OIL CAME OUT REAL FAST. LUCKY TO WATCH FOR PROBLEMS. ONLY 28,000 MILES. 2014 TOWN & COUNTRY VAN 12/07/13 DELIVERY DATE.

THE AIRBAG PROBLEM WARNING LIGHT ON MY DASH IS CONSTANTLY ON. I TOOK TO THE DEALER WHO "FIXES" IT (TWICE), BUT IT COMES BACK ON WITHIN DAYS. I RECENTLY TALKED TO 3 OTHER OWNERS OF CHRYSLERS AND ALL SAID THEY EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE.
HAD TO REPLACE TIRES ON 2014 TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVAN. FOUND THAT THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES, TWO WERE MANUFACTURED IN 2010 AND TWO WERE MANUFACTURED IN 2012. ALL SHOWED SIGNS OF DRY ROT ON SIDE WALLS.
THE VAN STALLS A LITTLE BIT I WENT AND HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON IT AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER KEEPS CLOGGING UP CAUSING THE VAN TO SLOW UP OR TO SWITCH GEARS. ALSO THE DOORS DON'T CLOSE ALL THE WAY THE SLIDING DOORS DO NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY YOU HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THEM SOMETIMES IT WILL SAY THAT THEIR CLOTHES AND THEN THEY COME OPEN. ALSO THE AC SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK IN THE BACK OF THE CAR THE DOOR FROM THE AC THAT GOES TO THE BACK OF THE VAN CLOSES AND WILL NOT OPEN TO IT GETS EXTREMELY HOT IN THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE AC IS ON FULL BLAST. ALSO THE DVD SYSTEM MY VAN IS 2 YEARS OLD THE DVD PLAYER WENT OUT AND THE COMPANY WOULD NOT FIX THE DVD PLAYER I HAD TO SPEND OVER $1,000 JUST TO GET A NEW REPLACEMENT FOR THE DVD PLAYER. ALSO THE WIPERS WILL FOG UP THE WINDOWS CAUSING A HAZARDOUS WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE AND THE WIPER CORD FOR THE RAIN-X COMES UNDONE.
