While driving at 45 mph on a smooth suburban road, the rear windshield exploded. Previously, there had been no visible flaws in the glass. The windshield heater had been used for about 20 minutes, but turned off more than an hour before. The glass apparently exploded outward, as there were no glass shards in the empty row of kids booster seats in the rear. By internet search we learned there have been many of these same incidents over the years.
A/C EVAPORATOR FAILURE AT 85,148 MILES. A/C REFRIGERANT LEAK THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FRONT CABIN. REPLACED WITH A NEW FACTORY A/C EVAPORATOR, SERVICED AND REPLACED WITH NEW A/C REFRIGERANT. FAILURE AGAIN AT 87,200 MILES. POTENTIALLY FAULTY DESIGN IN A/C EVAPORATOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE WINDSHIELD CHIPPED DUE TO A ROCK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD CHIPPED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE REAR ENTERTAINMENT MONITORS DROPPED DOWN AND WERE IN USE, HIS VISION WAS OBSTRUCTED WHEN LOOKING THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 300. UPDATED 8/19/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER HAD THE HEAD RESTRAINTS UP, THE VISIBILITY FROM THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WAS ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. THE CONSUMER COULD ONLY RELY ON THE SIDE MIRRORS. UPDATED 05/10/16.*JB
