BOTH REAR POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED. THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER LOCK FAILED TO FUNCTION ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, BUT COULD BE OPERATED MANUALLY, AND THE DOOR COULD BE OPENED AND CLOSED SAFELY. ON THE MORNING OF AUGUST 5, 2019 WE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR TO LOAD ITEMS FOR DEPARTURE. THE LOCK WAS JAMMED IN LOCK POSITION, AND COULD NOT BE OPENED MANUALLY. THE DOOR WAS JAMMED CLOSED AND TOTALLY INOPERABLE. THE DOOR HAD BEEN FULLY FUNCTIONAL THE PREVIOUS DAY. THE DISCOVERY WAS MADE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE. WE HAD TO WAIT 3 DAYS FOR A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT OUR LOCAL DEALER. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2-1/2 DAYS BEFORE COMPLETING REPAIRS. BOTH LOCK ACTUATORS WERE REPLACED. THE INABILITY TO OPEN THE SIDE DOOR CREATED A HAZARDOUS SITUATION.
THE SLIDING DOOR CANNOT BE UNLOCKED-NOT BY THE KEYFOB, NOT BY THE CONTROL PANEL BUTTON, AND NOT EVEN MECHANICALLY WITH THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON THE DOOR ITSELF. NOT ONLY CAN YOU NOT GET INTO THE CAR, BUT IF YOU ARE INSIDE, YOU CANNOT GET OUT. THE LOCK MECHANISM SEEMS TO BE MECHANICALLY JAMMED. IF THIS HAPPENED ON BOTH SLIDING DOORS, YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET EITHER IN OR OUT OF THE CAR WITHOUT CLIMBING OVER INTO THE FRONT SEAT. IF SOMETHING SIMILAR OCCURRED WITH THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS, YOU COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE.
MY VEHICLE IS JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS HAD REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE DONE TO IT INCLUDING REGULAR OIL CHANGES. TWO WEEKS AGO THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO HAS SERVICED THE VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON IT AND IT GAVE THEM THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE OF P0302, A MISFIRE OF CYLINDER 2. THEY NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD SHUFFLING NOISE IN THE MOTOR AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLE IT WOULD SHIMMY AND SHAKE A BIT AND THERE WAS A SMELL OF OIL OR GAS AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUMP OR SKIP SOMETIMES BUT NOT MAJOR. THEY PERFORMED A FULL TUNE UP AND DROVE IT A BIT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF BUT THEN THE NEXT DAY WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON SO I TOOK IT DIRECTLY BACK TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY LOOKED MORE INTO THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE THAT IT WAS READING AND FOUND A RECALL ON THIS SAME EXACT DIAGNOSTIC CODE FOR THE 2016 GRAND CARAVAN 3.6 AND 2016 JOURNEY 3.6 MADE BY DODGE...WHICH ARE THE EXACT ENGINES AS THE CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY SO I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I THEN CONTACTED CHRYSLER DIRECTLY AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD GLADLY HONOR THE RECALL IF YOUR ORGANIZATION ISSUED THE RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE SINCE IT IS CLEARLY RELATED TO THE RECALL THAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO THE 2016 GRAND CARAVAN AND JOURNEY, RECALL #627908. MY VEHICLE NEEDS A CYLINDER HEAD REPAIRED OR REPLACED AND I DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT AND DO POSSIBLE FURTHER DAMAGE. I AM TRYING TO BE A RESPONSIBLE CONSUMER AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE CORRECTLY BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON A MAJOR ENGINE ISSUE FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND WHEN THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR 2 COMPARABLE VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE EXACT SAME ENGINE.
THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER HAS FAILED. THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE 83 ON BACKORDER AHEAD OF ME AND NO ESTIMATED TIME TO HAVE THE PART IN STOCK TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT. BECAUSE THERE IS NOT AN ACTIVE RECALL ON THIS, I AM FORCED TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER BRAKES AND APPARENTLY A LOT OF OTHERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE, BUT THE TICKING NOISE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
SLIDER DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION. WILL NOT OPEN. LOCK HAS SPONGY FEEL TO IT AND WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. THIS POSES A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE PASSENGER ON NOT ABLE TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. ALSO, THE SLIDER DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEEMS TO MALFUNCTION FREQUENTLY-OPENING AND CLOSING MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NOTHING STUCK IN THE TRACK AND NOTHING BLOCKING THE SENSOR. IT IS LIKELY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE DOOR BECOMES COMPLETELY NON-FUNCTIONAL LIKE THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDER DOOR.
THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR NO LONGER LOCKS. IT HAS BEEN TRACED BACK AT AN SMALL HYDRAULIC PIN THAT PUSHES THE LOCK OPEN AND CLOSED. TO FIX THIS PART IT HAS BEEN QUOTED BETWEEN $800-$1000. DUE TO THE FACT, THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR COMPLETELY, THEN BREAK THE PANEL AND THE TRIM FROM THE INSIDE TO REACH THE PARTS. NOW WE ARE BEING CHARGED TO REPLACE THE PANEL AND THE EXISTING TRIM. HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS AND OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING SAME / SIMILAR ISSUES. ALL OTHER DOORS LOCK, BUT WHEN LOCKED THE SLIDING DOOR CAN BE OPENED BY ANYONE.
Driver side sliding door cannot be opened either remotely or manually, Something is non-functional inside the door. In order to exit the vehicle, people must climb over to the front seat or across the vehicle to the passenger side sliding door. If this were to happen on the passenger side, the only way out is through the front doors. This must be a design issue as the vehicle has NOT been in any accident--people in the rear seats are at risk if they need to exit quickly. Previously told by a mechanic shop, this was an actuator problem. Chrysler has now extended the warranty on the actuator, but now they say it is a latch issue not covered by the extended warranty, and want $1100 to repair it. Latch, actuator, or whatever reason, no vehicle door should ever get into this type of mode. I have now spent $320 on two different analyses over the past 2-1/2 years.I will not pay $1100 for something that Chrysler should be responsible for.
THERE IS A LOAD BUZZ COMING FROM THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WHENEVER YOU SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. UPON RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM IT APPEARS THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM FOR MANY PEOPLE WITH COSTLY REPAIRS UP TO $1000 FOR A NEW ACTUATOR. UPON REPLACING THE ACTUATOR MANY PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS AGAIN A YEAR LATER WITH THE ACTUATOR. WHY IS CHRYSLER NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT?
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. I CANNOT UNLOCK IT MANUALLY, WITH THE KEY FOB OR WITH THE UNLOCK BUTTON. I CANNOT USE THE POWER SLIDING DOOR FUNCTION NOR OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS IN AN ACCIDENT COULD CAUSE TRAPPED PASSENGERS. MY VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 50 THOUSAND MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS LOOKS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE OWNED VEHICLE FROM RUSSEL WESTBROOK DODGE, CHRYSLER, JEEP. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THEY MAKE REPAIRS AND ADJUSTMENTS TO VEHICLES WITHOUT NOTATING THE SYSTEM. THIS ALSO DOES NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR PURCHASE. THE SLIDING DOORS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VAN ARE NOT FUNCTIONING. YOU CAN NOT OPEN THE DOORS MANUALLY OR WITH THE REMOTE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. -SAFETY HAZARD THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. VERY SCARY. A TECH STATED THAT IT WAS THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND I SHOULD REFRAIN FROM USING THE BRAKES SO MUCH. -VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING TOP SPEED ON THE FWY. WE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. - SAFETY ISSUE!! THE SALES MANAGERS ARE NOT RESPONSIVE AND NO ONE TAKES ACCOUNTABILITY FOR NOT PUTTING NOTES IN THE SYSTEM .
MY 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTY VAN WITH 90,000 HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND IT HAD A ROUGH IDLE. TOOK THE THE DEALER AND THEY STATED ENGINE CYLINDER 2 AND 6 WE AT 80% BELOW OPERATING CAPACITY. I WILL HAVE TO PAY $2,700 FOR REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE HEAD. I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AND NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. REFERENCE TO SERVICE BULLETIN TSB 09-002-09-2011-2013 AND WARRANTY BULLETIN D-14-12 FOR MODEL TOWN AND COUNTRY-FOR SAME EXACT PROBLEM INVOLVING ENGINE VALVE FAILURE ON THE LEFT SIDE ENGINE HEAD . IT APPEARS THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED IN 2013. I CALLED AND DID AN ONLINE CHAT WITH CHRYSLER THEY SAID SINCE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE.

THE CONTACT CALLED LIBERTY AUTO CITY (1000 E PARK AVE, LIBERTYVILLE, IL 60048, (847) 362-3800) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS EMAILED AND OFFERED THE CONTACT A PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STILL HAD TO PAY $2,500 IN LABOR COSTS. THE MANUFACTURER MADE THE CONTACT RETRIEVE MAINTENANCE RECORDS. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED A LITTLE MORE COST ASSISTANCE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PAY THE FEES SINCE HE THOUGHT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION BEFORE HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THE MANUFACTURER LOWERED THE WARRANTY FROM 100,000 MILES TO 60,000 MILES IN 2016. THE MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CONTACT AN ULTIMATUM OF TAKING THE OFFER BY JULY 31, 2019 OR THE OFFER WOULD BE CANCELLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000. *TT *AS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS COMPLETELY DEFECTIVE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED ZEIGLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT ALFA MASERATI (4200 PARKWAY PLACE, GRANDVILLE, MI 49418, 616-588-4200) AND ASKED FOR A REPAIR QUOTE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS; THEREFORE, THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE. CAUSE IS A BAD LEFT CYLINDER HEAD.
THIS VEHICLE WILL NOT ALLOW FOR THE REAR DOORS TO OPEN MANUALLY WHEN THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM FAILS. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK FOR ENTRY AND EXIT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE "ACTUATOR/MOTOR, ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK" FAILS ON THE SLIDING DOORS. ON 6/15/2019 THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WITH THE VEHICLE.
WHILE AT A STOP SIGN CAR STOPPED WORKING. IT WOULD NOT START SO WE HAD A NEW BATTERY PUT IN. THEN THE NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, STEER OR BREAK. WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR A FEW MOMENTS LATER AND DROVE A FEW MORE MILES AND WHILE TURNING RIGHT ONTO A BUSY INTERSECTION THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WE ARE VERY LUCKY WE WERE NOT HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE IN ANY OF THESE SITUATIONS!
TRANSMISSION FAILURE, LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING
I RENTED THE VAN. I WAS AT A STOP SIGN, WHEN CROSSING THE VAN WAS SLOW/ SLUGGISH AND I SAW A CAR COMING FROM MY LEFT SPEEDING AND I PRESSED ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AND THE VAN DID NOT ACCELERATE AS EXPECTED, I THOUGHT THIS WAS DUE TO MY EXPERIENCE WITH A MINIVAN AND WEIGHT OF THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE, BUT LATER REALIZED THIS WAS A 6 CYLINDER AND WHICH I DID HAVE EXPERIENCE AND RECALL THIS VAN NOT GIVING ME THE SPEED TO CROSS IN TIME YO POTENTIALLY AVOID THE ACCIDENT I HAD.
MIDDLE CLIP ON SUN VISOR WITH GARAGE DOOR OPENER SNAPPED OPEN CAUSING THE VISOR TO DROP AND WILL NOT STAY UP. CAUSED ME TO RUN A RED LIGHT DUE TO THE OBSTRUCTED VIEW. SAFETY CONCERN.

THE MECHANIC ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED BLUEBONNET CHRYSLER DODGE (LOCATED AT 547 S SEGUIN AVE, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130, (830) 606-3463) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. *TR*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, ALL THE DOORS LOCKED ON THEIR OWN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE IGNITION AND DRIVE TO HIS DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAKELAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 2875 MALL HILL DR, LAKELAND, FL 33810, (863) 687-2501), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURES WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE LOCK ACTUATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DOOR LOCK STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED. A BODY SHOP GOT THE ACTUATOR UNSTUCK, BUT WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT WAS STUCK AGAIN, THIS TIME IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION. I STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND A WAY TO GET THE LOCK UNSTUCK AND I USED THAT TRICK WHEN IT STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION, BUT OVER TIME THE ACTUATOR HAS ALSO STARTED BUZZING. NOW WHEN THE POWER DOOR LOCKS ARE ACTIVATED, INSTEAD OF LOCKING OR UNLOCKING THE ACTUATOR ON THIS DOOR JUST BUZZES LOUDLY AND THE LOCK MECHANISM DOESN'T MOVE. IT'S BEEN BUZZING FOR MONTHS NOW, SO I DECIDED TO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH AND SEE IF IT WAS AN ISSUE I FELT COMFORTABLE FIXING MYSELF. ONCE I STARTED LOOKING, I FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE, AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT EVERYONE REPORT THIS ISSUE TO POSSIBLY CREATE A RECALL IF THE FAILURE RATE OF THE ACTUATOR IS HIGH ENOUGH. I ALSO FOUND THAT THE PART THAT NEEDS REPLACED IS INEXPENSIVE, IT'S LESS THAN $50. HOWEVER, DUE TO THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY IN ACCESSING THE PART, THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL HAS TO BE TAKEN APART TO ACCESS IT, THE AVERAGE REPAIR QUOTE FOR THIS REPAIR IS IN THE $700-$800 RANGE. THIS SEEMS LIKE A REALLY POOR DESIGN CHOICE FOR A PART THAT SEEMS TO HAVE SUCH A HIGH FAILURE RATE. SLIDING DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WILL NOT OPEN. TRIED MANUALLY FROM INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, BUTTONS ON INSIDE AND KEY FOB. CLICKING CAN BE HEARD WHEN USING THE KEY FOB, BUT MECHANISM WILL NOT UNLOCK. COULD NOT GET MY DOG OUT OF HIS CRATE WITHOUT GOING TO DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VAN, FOLDING DOWN SEAT INTO THE FLOOR AND HAVING SOMEONE HELP ME PULL THE CRATE AROUND SO IT'S DOOR COULD BE OPENED. VAN WAS PARKED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO MANUFACTURER RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: S44. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
PURCHASED VAN USED FROM NON-CHRYSLER DEALER JUNE 2018. SINCE OWNING VAN WE HAVE ONLY TAKEN TO CHRYSLER FOR ALL MAINTENANCE WORK NEEDED. AFTER LAST OIL CHANGE WE FELT THE VAN WAS"ACTING FUNNY". TRANS. THEY SAID WE HAD TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT FOR THE END OF MAY THEY WERE TO BUST TO GET US IN ANY SOONER. ON MAY 29,2019 THE VAN HAD A AWFUL SCRAPPING/WHISTLE/BUZZING NOISE COMING FROM TRANS/ENGINE AREA. NO WARNING LIGHTS. ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK VAN WOULD BE SLUGGISH AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HAVE A SURGE OF POWER*BANG* INTO GEAR ESPECIALLY WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS THEN TRYING TO GO AGAIN. ALMOST RAN INTO CAR STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. TOOK VAN TO CHRYSLER DEALER MAY 30TH. BARELY MADE IT TO DEALER VAN HAD NO POWER, LOUD WHINING/BUZZING, BANGING INTO GEAR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON GOING TO DEALER. FINDINGS BY DEALERSHIP TRANS OIL PUMP LOSS OF PRESSURE. SUGGESTING REPLACING THE TRANS. ASSY. ASKED THEM ABOUT RECALL FOR 2016/TOWN&COUNTRY TRANS PUMP? THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER GOODWILL DEPT. BOTH SAID VAN DOES NOT HAVE RECALL? AND BECAUSE IT HAS 66,374 MILES THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY IS OVER & BECAUSE WE DIDN'T PURCHASE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAN'T HELP US WITH EXTENDING WARRANTY OR GOODWILL FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION ASSY. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED OUR PROBLEM AS THE SAME AS THE RECALL.
CORRODED WIRING TO TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR ON A THREE YEAR OLD VEHICLE. WIRING ON A THREE-YEAR-OLD VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE CORRODED ALREADY! THIS CAUSES THE SENSOR TO NOT MONITOR OF THE TIRE PRESSURE AT ALL OR INCORRECTLY MONITOR THE TIRE PRESSURE. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF THE TIRE IS NOT INFLATED CORRECTLY.

HAVE 64987 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. JUST 5000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY. $4000 TO FIX IT. WE JUST HAD IT IN DECEMBER AND PAID $1500 TO FIX THE VEHICLE INCLUDING UPDATING THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT SUCH A NEW VEHICLE HAS THIS MANY BREAK DOWNS. MY DODGE CARAVAN HAS 158000 MILES AND NO MAJOR PROBLEMS.

DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN EITHER WITH THE REMOTE, PUSH BUTTON OR MANUALLY. IF AN ACCIDENT DISABLED THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR, OCCUPANTS IN THE REAR WOULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE.
SLIDING DOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE FAILED TO OPEN WITH KEYLESS ENTRY OR MANUALLY OPENING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. WE WERE ABLE TO EVENTUALLY OPEN THE DOOR, BUT NOW THE DOOR ACTUATOR BUZZES LOUDLY WHEN LOCKING/UNLOCKING. DOOR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT OPEN WITH KEYLESS ENTRY OR MANUALLY.

THE CHRYSLER BLIND SPOT DETECTION IS FAULTY ON MARCH 30 IT BEGAN BEEPING RANDOMLY WITH MESSAGE 'BLIND SPOT DETECTION UNAVAILABLE' THIS CONTINUED FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. IT WAS RANDOMLY AND PERSISTENT WHEN DRIVING. THE BEEPING WAS A CONSTANT DISTRACTION TO MY DRIVING. IT WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. IN THE THIRD WEEK THE MESSAGE WHEN THE BEEPING WAS 'SERVICE BLIND SPOT DETECTION' WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AT THAT POINT. IT WAS A COST OF $1400.00. THIS IS AN ELECTRIC SHORT IN THE VEHICLE VERY NEAR THE GAS TANK. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. AS I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE I WAS SURPRISED THAT THEIR IS DOCUMENTATION BACK TO 2012 THAT IS READILY AVAILABLE OF THIS ISSUE.

SLIDING DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM IS JAMMED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK. DOOR IS STUCK SHUT. SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE BUT WILL NOT RESET BY REMOVING THE FUSE AND REINSTALLING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT - IF IT WERE THE ONLY DOOR WE COULD GET OUT. THE VAN IS UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WE PLAN TO HAVE IT FIXED, BUT IT IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED - THE OTHER TIMES, IT JUST CORRECTED ITSELF AND RESET. THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR ALSO RANDOMLY WON'T SHUT BECAUSE THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS STUCK AND WE HAVE WORK IT INTO PLACE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ALREADY LOOKED AT THAT DOOR ONCE AND SAYS THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ANYTHING WRONG. OF COURSE, THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER IT IS ON OR OFF. THERE IS REALLY NOTHING I CAN UPLOAD OTHER THAN A PICTURE OF THE SHUT DOOR AND THAT IT IS LOCKED. I COULD SEND A VIDEO, BUT THE FILE WOULD BE TOO LARGE.

OFTEN WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED IN THE IGNITION NOTHING HAPPENS. THE SAME HAPPENED IN MY DAD'S GRAND CARAVAN AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE IGNITION. AFTER A FEW TRIES, THE VEHICLE DOES START UP, BUT INITIALLY NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED.

DROVE CAR TO WORK. TOOK KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, BUT VAN CONTINUED TO RUN. DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY BUT VAN'S ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN. DROVE IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A WIN MODULE ISSUE. CURRENTLY AT ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER WAITING FOR REPAIR. THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE WIN MODULE HAD BROKEN IN THE 'OFF' POSITION ON A BUSY ROAD INSTEAD OF IN THE "ON" POSITION.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,450.
VAN STARTED SHAKING AND STALLING, WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON. IT WOULD DRIVE FINE OT HIGHWAY SEEDS, BUT SHOOK BAD AND STALLED AT IDLE. I TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT HAD A P0302 CODE. THAT IS A MISFIRE ON LEFT CYLINDER HEAD #2 CYLINDER. AFTER TEAR DOWN IT WAS CONFIRMED IT WAS #2 CYLINDER INTAKE VALVE ALMOST 85% LEAK DOWN. (TECH'S STATMENT) THIS REQUIRED A NEW CYLINDER HEAD. WHEN WE MADE APPOINTMENT AT SCHUMACHER AUTOMOTIVE IN DELRAY BEACH FL. IT WAS TOLD TO ME MY VAN WAS COVERED UNDER FCA RECALL OF LEFT CYLINDER HEAD #2 CYLINDER RECALL. UPON DORPPING IT OFF IT SUDDENLY WAS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH HE USED THE SAME VIN INFO BOTH TIMES. THE COULD NOT TELL ME WHY THE DIFFERENCE IN JUST ONE DAY. BETWEEN MAKING APPOINTMENT AND BRINGING IN. TRIED CALLING FCA IN MICHIGAN AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT HEAD ISSIUE HAD BEEN FIXED WITH MY MODEL YEAR EVEN THOUGH TECH HAS HAD EVERY P0302 CODE 3.6L ENGINE REQUIRING A NEW HEAD, SAME AS PREVIOUS RECAL. MY VAN HAS 73,000 MILES AND I PURCHASED IT USED FROM HERTZ RETAL CAR. FCA SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AT THIS TIME UNLESS I MET 3 OUT OF 5 QUESTIONS ABOUT MY VAN AND ME. I MET ONLY ONE AND THAT WAS A LOYAL CUSOMER. NO COVERERAGE.
