BUT BEFORE THE SOLID LIGHT WHEN I MOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF OR COME ON. HOW CAN AIRBAG HARNESS GO BAD.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR MAKES LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN UNLOCKING THE DOORS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER DOOR FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE KEY FOB WAS USED AND ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE REAR DRIVER DOOR MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAVID CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1801 US-202, GLEN MILLS, PA 19342) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MODULE IN THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. A CASE WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
A TAPPING SOUND FROM MY ENGINE. APPEARS MANY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE TYPE AND ENGINE FOR THE 2016 ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN WILL A RECALL BE DEMANDED?
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR SUDDENLY IS STUCK IN THE LOCK SHUT POSITION. THERE IS NO WAY OF OPENING THE DOOR MANUALLY OR WITH THE KEY FAB REMOTE. THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR ALSO PRODUCES A LOUD SOUND WHEN IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS. I TOOK IT IN THE GET FIXED, THE SHOP SAYS THAT THE ACTUATOR IN BOTH DOORS WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONLINE I ALSO FOUND A LOT OF OTHER TOWN AND COUNTRY OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS COULD BE A BIG SAFETY HAZARD IF EVER SOMEONE NEEDED TO BE EVACUATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE DOOR IS STUCK SHUT.
VEHICLE'S TIPM MODULE FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL TO A STOP ON A BUSY STREET. HAZARD LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LOCKED ITSELF IN PARK. ALL CLUSTER INSTRUMENT WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON. UCONNECT SOUND SYSTEM OFF. POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS DISABLED. SLIDING DOORS LOCKED AND DISABLED. ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING WITH KEY OUT OF IGNITION. THE VEHICLE'S COMPLETE TIPM FAILURE, WHICH ALSO CONTROLS THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS (WHICH SHOULD BE ON AN ISOLATED CIRCUIT), CONTRIBUTED TO A THREE CAR ACCIDENT.
PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR MAKES BUZZING NOISE WHEN UNLOCKING. STATIONARY OR MOVING DOES NOT MATTER. MAKES NOISE WHEN PRESSING UNLOCK ON DOOR PANEL, KEY FOB, OR WHEN PULLING ON ANY DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN DOOR THAT UNLOCKS ALL DOORS.

THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO YOUNG BUICK GMC (2010 E MAIN ST, OWOSSO, MI 48867, (888) 399-4101), BUT IT COULD NOT BE SERVICED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A GM VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $4,000. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT CALLED SLINGERLAND CHRYSLER DODGE INC (3640 E M 21, CORUNNA, MI 48817, 989 743-6331) WHERE SHE WAS GIVEN ANOTHER ROUGH ESTIMATE OF $5,000 FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILED AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER COOKEVILLE CHRYSLER LOCATED AT 1550 INTERSTATE DR, COOKEVILLE, TN 38501 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR MAKES A.LOUD BUZZING SOUND AND THE LOCK DOESN'T WORK.
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT. I USED THE DOOR ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20TH AND WENT TO USE IT THE FOLLOWING MORNING AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN VIA THE KEYFOB OR THE OVERHEAD BUTTON. WHEN I TRIED TO MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR, IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. THE LOCK MECHANISM WILL NOT MOVE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT IT PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE VEHICLE GETS IN AN ACCIDENT, IT COULD IMPEDE PASSENGERS EXITING THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINING FURTHER INJURY.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR EMITS A LOUD BUZZING SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNLOCKED. THE VOLUME IS LOUD ENOUGH THAT IT CAUSES AUDIO DISCOMFORT. RESEARCH INDICATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN THE 2016 DODGE AND CHRYSLER MINIVANS, AND SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS HAD REPORTED IT TO THIS SITE SO WE ARE FOLLOWING THAT SUGGESTION.
THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR GOT STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION AND COULD NOT BE OPENED OR UNLOCKED. FINALLY GOT THE DOOR OPEN AND NOW IT MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN LOCKING OR UNLOCKING. REAR PASSENGER DOOR HAS NOT GOTTEN STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION BUT HAS RECENTLY STARTED MAKING THE SAME LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN LOCKING OR UNLOCKING. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD IF THEY DOOR WERE TO GET STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION DURING AN ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A MISFIRE IN ENGINE CYLINDER NUMBER FIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE ROCKER ARM FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED AN EXTENDED 150,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING RELATED TO THE FAILURES FOUND BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,300.
THE VEHICLE JUMPS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AND SHUTTERS. IT WILL DOWN SHIFT AND UPSHIFT SUDDENLY AT INAPPROPRIATE TIMES. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE GEAR RANGE AND VARYING SPEEDS OF INCREASING, DECREASING OR STEADY SPEEDS. THIS BEGAN AROUND 60,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. IT IS A CONTINUING ISSUE THAT HAS BECOME MORE CONSISTENT AND PROMINENT OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS.
ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO MY VAN STARTED MAKING NOISE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING. AT TIMES IT WOULD HESITATE TO GO UP HILLS AND WHEN COMING TO A LIGHT IT WOULD SHAKE AND SOMETIMES SHUT OFF. THE RPMS WOULD GO CRAZY AT TIMES WHILE AT A STOP. WHEN TURNING IT WOULD SHAKE WHEN I WOULD TAKE THE TURN. I WENT TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND IT WASN'T GIVING ANY INQUIRIES ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG. WHEN IT WAS DIAGNOSED ON SEPT 27TH IT JUST SAID THAT THE PASSENGER DOOR HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. ON OCT 3,2019 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. I BROUGHT IT IN TO BE DIAGNOSED. IT SAID IT WAS THE TCC HAD MY APPOINTMENT TODAY FOR IT TO BE FIXED (OCTOBER 8,2019) COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I FEEL THAT THE CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSTIC WAS WRONG AND IT TOOK OVER 3 MONTHS TO GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO GO ON. I'M ON DISABILITY AND LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE AND DIDNT THINK THAT IN THE 2 YRS. THAT I WOULD BE PAYING FOR A TRANSMISSION AT 72,000 MILES. THIS VEHICLE WAS NEVER ON THE RECALL LIST BUT I BELIEVE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. I CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR AT ALL. IT JUST STOPPED WORKING WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
PASSENGER SIDE, 2ND ROW SEAT, DOES NOT FULLY RELEASE FROM ANCHOR TO ALLOW 3RD ROW PASSENGERS TO EXIT CAR. TOP PART OF SEAT FOLDS DOWN, BUT BOTTOM PART STAYS ANCHORED TO CAR. SEEMS LIKE CABLE ISSUE. *TR

THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WHEN UNLOCKING THE DOORS, THERE IS A LOUD BUZZ THAT HAPPENS EVERY TIME. CURRENTLY THE DOOR STILL LOCKS/UNLOCKS, BUT UPON FURTHER RESEARCH THIS IS A VERY WIDESPREAD ISSUE AND COULD RESULT IN THE DOOR NOT LOCKING/UNLOCKING AND THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. IT IS COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN ON THE 2016 MODEL YEAR.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING POWER DOOR LOCK GETS STUCK, WHEN IT FINALLY UNLOCKS AND PROCEEDS TO CLOSE A VERY LOUD 'ELECTRICAL BUZZING SOUND ' COMES FROM DOOR AND IS VERY SCARY.....
THE TRANSMISSION PUMP AND CONVERTER FAILED CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO LOSE POWER,SLIP OUT OF GEAR,CLUNK. WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD WHINE,VIBRATE, CLUNK WHEN PUT INTO A HEAVY STRAIN LIKE PULLING A STEEP HILL. THIS IS THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND PROBLEM AS THE RECALL. CHRYSLER SAID MY VIN DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL S44 . I BELIEVE CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE KNOWING THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY.
I HAVE ABOUT 71000 MILES AND MY CAR WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS REVVED UP THE RPM'S AND WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. MY MECHANIC SAID MY TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP IS BAD. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS MANUFACTURED WHEN MINE WAS HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. CHRYSLER SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND INCLUDE ALL THOSE AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE.
THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR QUIT WORKING ON A 2016 TOWN AND COUNTRY A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTUATOR IS MAKING GRINDING NOISES AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. AN ONLINE SEARCH REVEALED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE IS JUST A FEW MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND THESE NEEDED (EXPENSIVE) REPAIRS SEEM TO INDICATE DESIGN FLAWS OR INFERIOR COMPONENTS. I FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD BE REPAIRING THEM THROUGH A RECALL. WHEN THEY FAIL, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE.
EVERY TIME I UNLOCK THE DOOR OR OPEN IT, IT MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE. THE DOOR WORKS FINE - IT OPENS AND CLOSES. BUT WHEN USING THE UNLOCK BUTTON FROM THE DOOR, OR OPENING THE DOOR IF THE CAR IS LOCKED, IT MAKES A VERY LOUD BUZZING NOISE FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE READ ON A FORUM THAT THIS IS AFFECTING A LOT OF VANS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IT IS A FAULTY ACTUATOR THAT CAN COST BETWEEN $400-$1,000 (OR MORE!) TO FIX.
THE ACTUATOR ON THE THE SLIDING DOORS ARE STUCK AND THUS THE DOORS ARE LOCKED AND CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED. THIS HAS HAPPED ON BOTH OF MY SLIDING DOORS. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME AND IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. MY CHILDREN HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO EASILY EXIT THE VEHICLE.

HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AWAITING BACK ORDER PART FOR THE ENGINE CYLINDER #6. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

THE CONTACT DROVE TO WETZEL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5500 NATIONAL RD E, RICHMOND, IN 47374, 765- 966-7000) WHERE THE CONTACT PAID FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.

WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A TWO CAR ACCIDENT IN WHICH SHE WAS HIT HEAD ON SLIGHTLY OFF TO THE RIGHT. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURIES. CAR WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30 MPH
I WAS PICKING MY DAUGHTER UP FROM SOFTBALL PRACTICE WHEN MY VEHICLE STOPPED SHIFTING ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE AT A STOP LIGHT AND PUSHING THE GAS PRACTICALLY DID NOTHING. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE. ONCE IT DID MOVE SLOWLY IT WOULDN'T SHIFT. MY RPMS WENT UP TO 5 AT ONE POINT. MY HUSBAND TRIED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT ONLY MADE IT ABOUT 2 MILES FROM OUR HOUSE BEFORE WE'R HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. I HAVE A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH LESS THAN 70K MILES. I CALLED CHRYSLER AFTER DISCOVERING THIS WAS ACTUALLY A RECALL ISSUE. ODDLY ENOUGH MY VIN WAS SUPPOSEDLY NOT AFFECTED, HOWEVER, MY $4000 TRANSMISSION REBUILD RECEIPT SAYS DIFFERENTLY. OF COURSE CHRYSLER ALSO SAID MY WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER THIS ISSUE.

BUT WHEN AIR SEARCHED ON THE NHTSA PAGE I COME TO FIND OUT THAT 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRYS HAVE A WHOLE RECALL ON TRANSMISSIONS! I AM NOW IN THE HOLE OVER $5000 IN REPAIRS!
2016 TOWN & COUNTRY SLIDING DOOR RIGHT SIDE DOES NOT LOCK, DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED BY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP DEC 29, 2017. BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. NOTICED DOOR PARTLY AJAR IN PARKING LOT, PULLED HANDLED READJUSTED TO SHUT AND SECURE DOORS WITH FOB IT WAS NOTICED THAT DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM DID NOT ACTIVATE, RESULTING IN DOOR NOT ABLE TO SECURELY LOCK, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO LOCK WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS, DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED AT ALL TIMES.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR LOCK WON'T DISENGAGE. THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES A CERTAIN SPEED. IT CANNOT BE UNLOCKED MANUALLY OR WITH ELECTRONIC LOCK BUTTONS/KEY FOB. VAN IS ONKY 3 YEARS OLD WITH 45,000 MILES. COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR REAR PASSENGERS IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION AND CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM.
I WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON THE PA TURNPIKE, GOING UP A HILL AT 70 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON WHEN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN LOSING ACCELERATION AND WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS. THE RPM GAGE WAS GOING VERY HIGH. I QUICKLY DISABLED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND PULLED OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, NOT AN EASY FEAT IN THE MIDST OF HEAVY TURNPIKE TRAFFIC (I AM THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER). I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND PUT ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER CALLING MY HUSBAND ON THE PHONE, I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND CALLED INTERSTATE EMERGENCY TOWING TO TAKE ME TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY. THE EMPLOYEE AT THE DEALERSHIP NOTED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A TRANSMISSION-RELATED RECALL ON 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVANS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED DURING SPECIFIC MONTHS AND THAT MY MINIVAN FELL WITHIN THE SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME. HOWEVER, AT A LATER DATE I WAS TOLD THAT MY MINIVAN VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION PUMP WHICH CAUSED A LOSS OF POWER (PART OF THE INITIAL RECALL PROBLEM). PLEASE SEE THE INITIAL ESTIMATE THAT IS ATTACHED. THEY ORDERED A NEW TRANSMISSION PUMP, WHICH WE HAD TO WAIT ALMOST A WEEK TO COME IN. THE DAY THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP ARRIVED, MY HUSBAND ASKED THEM TO EMAIL HIM THE ESTIMATE SO THAT HE COULD SHOW CHRYSLER THAT OUR VAN HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS THE INITIAL RECALL. ONCE THE DEALERSHIP LEARNED THAT WE WERE CONTESTING THE RECALL, THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION PUMP AFTER ALL . WHEN WE WENT TO PICK UP THE VAN, THEY SAID THAT THEY ONLY HAD TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER (SEE FINAL INVOICE ATTACHED). WE THINK THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER UP THE FACT THAT OUR VAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED AND FIXED UNDER THE RECALL, AND/OR THEY DO NOT WANT THE RECALL EXPANDED.
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR GETS STUCKED LOCK OR SOMETIMES WILL CLOSE ON YOU AND NOT STOP.
2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY 40K MILES. THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS BECOME UNRESPONSIVE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY OR WITH A REMOTE. THERE IS NO BODY DAMAGE. IN READING BLOGS THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN NORMALLY. CAME TO STOP SIGN AT INTERSECTION WITH HIGHWAY. AS IT WAS COMING TO A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION DIDN'T SEEM TO WANT TO DOWNSHIFT WITH THE SLOWING SPEED. ENGINE SPEED SLOWED TO BELOW IDLE, AND TRANSMISSION CLUNKED (AND SEEMED TO DROP COMPLETELY OUT OF GEAR). AS TRAFFIC CLEARED AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL (FORWARDS OR REVERSE). HAD TO WAVE LOTS OF OTHER DRIVERS PAST. THANKFULLY IT WAS ALREADY STOPPED, OR THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN LOTS WORSE. DEALERSHIP STATED "TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND SURGING. FLUID WAS OK. PUMP PRESSURE WAS LOW, AND TORQUE HAD A SHUDDER. TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED." THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL FOR THE FAILURE OF THE HYDRAULIC PUMP IN THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THIS VIN IS FOR SOME REASON NOT INCLUDED. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 67,500 MILES.
