BRAKE LIGHTS OUT DUE TO WIRING PROBLEM PER MECHANIC. BRAKES LOCK UP AND SKID. DASH LIGHTS FLICKER AND DIM WHILE DRIVING. TURNING SIGNALS NOT WORKING AND ALL FUSES REPLACED. ALL PROBLEMS WHILE VEHICLE MOVING OR STATIONARY.
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT STARTED TO RAIN. TURNED WIPERS ON ONLY TO HAVE THEM STUTTER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THEY THEN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WINDOW, BLOCKING MY VISION. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND PUSH THEM DOWN BY HAND. I HAD TO FINISH MY 25 MILE DRIVE AT ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR PERIODICALLY GETTING MY WIPERS TO WORK. NEXT DAY I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND WIRING AND THEN READ ONLINE THE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH MY CAR MODEL AS WELL AS OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES OVER THE LAST 5 OR SO YEARS. FROM DESCRIPTIONS MADE AND THE NUMBER OF CASES REPORTED I ASSUMED THERE WAS A RECALL I MISSED,BUT THERE IS NOT, WHICH IS SHOCKING.
AIR BAG LITE CAME ON , WENT TO GET IT FIXED UNDER NHTSA CAMP.#07V240000, THEY STATED THAT VIN WAS NOT ON THAT RECALL,CHGD $134 TO FIX WIRE UNDER SEAT AS #SHOWED LOCATION
I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND GOING OFF. EVEN AFTER I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT DID THE SAME THING.
CAR STOPS WHILE DRIVING AND MAY CRANK AFTER 5-15 MINUTES OF WAITING, HORN BLOWS FOR NO REASON, WIPERS MALFUNCTION. PROBLEM CAUSED BY TIPM. THANKS. THE CAR CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING MOST OF THE TI,E. THERE HAS BEEN TIMES WHEN THE CAR CUTS OF BEFORE THE CAR IS EVEN MOVED. IT DOSENT MATTER HAVE LONG THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN. THE HORN HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED BECUSE IT WOULD NOT STOP BLOWING. THAT WAS THE FIRST THING THAT WENT WRONG BEFORE THE CAR STARTED GOING DEAD. THE NEXT SIGN WAS THE CAR STARTED JERKING BUT THEN WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH. I DONT KOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT THE CAR DIDNT DO THAT LONG. FROM THEN ON THE CAR GOES DEAD WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY ON THE INTERSTATE.

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT AND LATCH, WHICH CAUSED THE WARNING CHIME TO ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE ORIGIN OF THE LEAK COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
THE INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL IS SHOWING AS "STUCK OPEN" CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO BE LIT UP AND THE CAR CANNOT BE INSPECTED. I HAVE REPLACED THIS PART 3 TIMES IN 3 YEARS. THE PART IS EITHER DEFECTIVE FROM EVERY SOURCE, THE CAR IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, OR THE COMPUTER ISN'T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THIS HAS COST ME THOUSANDS AND LEFT ME WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR OVER A YEAR. THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD LAST A DECADE IF YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR AUTOMOBILE.
CAR STARTED STALLING WHILE DRIVING 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. DEALER SAID USE CAR IS AS IS. BUT SINCE THEN 3 DIFFERENT MECHANICS HAVE LOOK AT IT AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. LAST MECHANIC HEADED FOR A WEEK AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. FOUR MONTHS LATER STARTED TO JERK BEFORE STALLING AND THE THROTTLE LIGHT CAME ON. THREE DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE DAY AFTER IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. BACK TO THE SHOP AND SEVEN DAYS LATER BECAUSE IT WAS LOOSING FUEL PRESSURE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACE. NOW 2 DAYS LATER IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. THIS CAR CAN'T BE REPAIR IF THEY CAN'T FIND WHAT'S WRONG. AND THAT INCLUDED A DODGE DEALER THAT HAD THE CAR FOR A WEEK, CHARGE ME $75 AND COULDN'T FIND WHAT'S WRONG. THE CAR IS UNSAFE, IT STALL WHILE DRIVING AND CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
THE TIPM WENT OUT, CAUSING THE VEHICLE NO TO START. SOME RESEARCH I HAVE DONE, TELLS ME THAT DODGE NEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM. ITS JUST ANNOYING THAT IT MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET, AND A VEHICLE I CAN'T DRIVE.

MY SON PURCHASED HIS 2008 AVENGER USED IN 2014 FROM OKLAHOMA. HE IS IN THE MILITARY AND WHILE DEPLOYED I AM MAINTAINING HIS VEHICLE AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN MICHIGAN WITH OIL CHANGES AND SERVICE. WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH ON THE FREEWAY THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE CRUISE CONTROL TURNED OFF. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT AS I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE STOPPED. I STARTED THE VEHICLE WHICH STALLED AT EVERY. INTERSECTION AND ON TURNS WOULD STALL PUTTING ME IN THE OPPOSITE LANE. WHEN LOOKING UP RECALLS IT SHOWED THE EXACT PROBLEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED NO RECALL ON THIS VIN# AND THE PROBLEM IS HIS TIMING CHAIN AND OF COURSE THE FEE IS 1500.00 DOLLARS. IT SEEMS FIAT CHRYSLER IS TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING NOT TO FIX THESE OLDER MODELS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

I WAS UNABLE TO START MY CAR AS THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION, AND I COULD NOT RELEASE THE BREAK OR TURN MY WHEEL. I TRIED FOR 25 MINUTES. I ROCKED THE CAR WHILE IT WAS IN PARK AND THE BACK AND FORWARD AND THEN THE KEY TURN AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING INTO THE CITY I NOTICE THE SMELL AGAIN OF BURNING PLASTIC, THE AIR CONDITIONER SWITCH WAS HOT AND STUCK IN THE HIGH POSITION. I HAD TO BREAK AWAY THE KNOB TO THE LOWER POSITION OF THE FAN SPEED TO STOP THE BURNING SMELL AND THEN OFF. THIS IS THE SECOND SWITCH IVE HAD TO REPLACE SINCE I'VE HAS THIS CAR IVE ALSO FOUND OTHER PEOPLE ALSO HAVING THE HIGH POSITION OF THIS SWITCH FAIL DUE TO THE CONTACT GETTING HOT DUE TO ITS INABILITY TO CARRY THE CURRENT REQUIRED FOR THE FAN AT HIGH SPEED. THIS CURRENT CAUSED THE OLD SWITCH CONTACTS TO OVER HEAT AND MELT THE PLASTIC. I TOLD LANDERS DODGE ABOUT THIS THE FIRST TIME IT FAILED AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST A BAD SWITCH,,AND NOW A SECOND ONE? NO THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE DESIGN OF THE SWITCH CONTACTS THAT IT KEEPS BURNING THESE OUT! IVE ALSO HAD THE LIGHTER SHORT OUT, THE CENTER CONTACT MOVED AND SHORTED AGAINST THE NEGATIVE OF THE HOUSING , IT GOT HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THE CERAMIC ISOLATOR BEFORE WIRE FUSE WENT. IVE SAVED LL THE PARTS.

I BOUGHT THIS DODGE ADVENTURE A MONTH AGO AND SO FAR IT HAS STALLED OUT 5 TIMES OR MORE AT IDOL.I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY CLEANED THE IDOL POSITION CENSER THEN JUST YESTERDAY IT STALLED AGAIN ON MY DAUGHTER..WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR?I DONT WANT TO KEEP PAYING MORE AND MORE MONEY ON TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I WENT TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR CONTINUED FORWARD. I LOOKED TO SEE IF I DIDN'T PUT THE CAR IN PARK FULLY AND THE GEAR SHIFT IS IN PARK HOWEVER, THE GEAR INDICATOR SAYS THE CAR IS STILL IN DRIVE. *TR
MY ISSUE IS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOP WORKING OR WORK INTERMITTENTLY, WHICH IS A HUGE PROBLEM WHEN IT IS RAINING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN WE STARTED LOOKING UP THE ISSUE ONLINE WE NOTICED A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AMONG OTHER ISSUES. WE FIRST TRIED TO REPLACE THE SWITCH - STILL HAD THE PROBLEM, THEN THE WIPER MOTOR - STILL HAD THE PROBLEM. NOW WE ARE TOLD BY THE DODGE DEALERSHIP THAT IT PROB. IS A WIRING ISSUE OR THE TOTAL INTEGRATED FUSE BOX THING. THIS IS $1000 AT LEAST AND HAS TO BE DONE BY THE DEALER BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE PROGRAMMED. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ON CHRYSLERS PART SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO SYSTEM, IT TURNS OFF BY IT SELF AND NOT TURNING ON. ONE`S IN A WHILE IT TURNS ON BY IT SELF. IT DOES THE SAME THING IF IT`S RUNNING OR IT`S THE CAR TURNED OFF. OTHER ISSUE IS THAT THE 4 ELECTRIC WINDOWS FRONTS AND REARS BROKE VERY EASE INSIDE THE ELEVATOR WHEN I LOWER OR TURNING UP. I`M BEEN WASTING TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS ISSUE. IN ONE POINT BOTH ISSUES FOR BECOME UNSAFE BECAUSE WHILE I`M DRIVEN ON WANT TO LOWER THE WINDOW IT MAKES A BIG NOISE WHEN IT BREAKS. AND THE RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF BY IT SELF SCARING YOU WHILE I`M DRIVING.
I OWN A 08 DODGE AVENGER AND HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM A YEAR AGO,I NOW HAVE PROBLEMS WITH A NOISE UNDER THE HOOD,I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S THE PULLEY TO THE ALTERNATOR. I TOOK MY CAR IN ON JANUARY 21, 2015 BECAUSE MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING AGAIN BUT THIS TIME IT'S A CLOCKSPRING AND [XXX] AT DODGE TOLD ME THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THIS BECAUSE AIRBAGS WONT WORK, MY CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK AND HE SAID MORE THINGS WILL FAIL. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME GOING ABOUT 45 - 50 MPH AND THE CAR JUST DIED. THE RPM GAUGE FLUTTERS A LITTLE AND THEN THE CAR JUST DIED. SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE CAR RESTARTED AND SHE DROVE HOME. THE NEXT MORNING SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 10 - 15 MPH AND AGAIN THE CAR JUST DIED. STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND A SYMBOL ON MY DASHBOARD APPEARED. THE SYMBOL WAS A LIGHTENING BOLT IN PARENTHESIS WHICH I'VE FOUND OUT IS THE ETC SYMBOL. THAT ALONG WITH MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TOGETHER. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF THE ETC SYMBOL DID NOT REAPPEAR BUT THE CHECK ENGINE SYMBOL DID. FROM LOOKING THROUGH FORUMS I'VE SEEN THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH NUMEROUS DODGE AVENGERS AND TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS COST LARGE SUMS WITH NO REAL CONCLUSION OF THE REASON FOR THE SYMBOLS APPEARING IN THE FIRST PLACE. TODAY, 1/3/2015, THE WEATHER WAS A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW AND ON MY WAY TO MY DESTINATION THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD.
