TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AT 10 MPH, THE DRIVER BEHIND HER WAS ON A CELL PHONE AND REAR ENDED HER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN HER AND THE CONTACT HIT HER HEAD ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION; HOWEVER, SHE STATED THAT SHE DID HAVE PAIN TO HER LOWER SPINE, NECK, AND LEFT SIDE OF HER HEAD. THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE; HOWEVER, THEY NEVER SHOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE GAVE HER INFORMATION TO THE DISPATCHER; BUT WAS UNCERTAIN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS LATER DESTROYED. THE CONTACT ALSO WENT TO NYLE MAXWELL CDJR OF AUSTIN(13401 RANCH RD 620 N, AUSTIN, TX 78717) WHERE THEY DISCOVERED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS PLACED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:16V668000( SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE DEALER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE EXPECTING PARTS AROUND AUGUST. THE DEALER WAS NOT AWARE OF PARTS BEING AVAILABLE AROUND THAT TIME OR AT ALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
HEADREST POPPED OPEN ON PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND DEPLOYED. NO ONE IN PASSENGER SEAT.
I HAVE A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM MY GLOVE DEPARTMENT I TOOK IN TO A SHOP TO FIND OUT IT'S MY VENT ACTUATOR THIS PART ONLY COST ABOUT 30$ BUT THE LABOR IS WHAT'S COST THE MOST I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE GLOVE DEPARTMENT TO GET TO THE PART WHERE DOES THIS COME FROM AND WHY HAVEN'T THIS BEEN ON RECALL YET I'VE GOOGLED THIS SITUATION AND FOUND OUT THAT IT'S BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2011 IN DODGE CARS AND TRUCKS AND VANS SO I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON THE CITY STREET IT BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THE HOSE CONNECTING TO THE THERMOSTAT HAD FALLEN OFF. I THEN NOTICED THE FILLER NECK MADE OF PLASTIC HAD CRUMBLED APART CAUSING THE HOSE TO FALL OFF WHICH CAUSED VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. REPLACED THE THE FILLER NECK AND HOSES AND CAR IS STILL OVER HEATING. I AM HAVING AN ESTIMATE DONE ON THE VEHICLE TOMORROW 9/12/2017. ONCE I HAVE THE ESTIMATE I WILL UPLOAD THE PAPERWORK.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT PLACED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE KEY TO THE START POSITION, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CRANK. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A FAULTY AIR BAG, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT A RECALL WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE FOR THE AIR BAG, BUT THE CONTACT COULD NOT DETERMINE WHICH AIR BAG OR THE RECALL DETAILS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLAKE FULENWIDER RAM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (3000 N SAINT MARYS STREET, BEEVILLE, TX 78102 (855) 996-5681) WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ASSUMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON AND OFF. THE CONTACT CALLED LITHIA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF CORPUS CHRISTI (4313 S STAPLES ST, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78411 (361) 288-2510) WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
RECALL WAS REPLACED FOR SEAT BELT RESTRAINT CONTROL FOR DRIVER BUT LIGHT STILL REMAINED ON AFTER THE RECALL PART WAS REPAIRED, PASSENGER SEAT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER TWICE IN THE LAST YEAR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TWICE THAT THEY WILL CORRECT IT IN 30 DAYS PARTS ARE COMING IN. THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME YET THAT THEY ARE READY TO REPAIR IT.
MAJOR FUEL LEAK, LEAK IS WHEN STATIONARY, AND WHILE MOVING. IT'S COMING FROM THE CONNECTION OF THE FUEL TANK IT'S ROCKING BACK AND FORTH IN PLACE. AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS CONNECTION IS WHERE THE FUEL IS LEAKING FROM. THE FUEL FILLER NECK FITS OVER THIS METAL CONNECTOR TO THE TANK. SEE PHOTOS

MY HORN JUST STARTED RANDOMLY BLOWING WITH CAR ON/OFF ON 7/20/2017. MY CAR HAS LOST POWER TWICE TODAY DRIVING HOME FROM WORK.

WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY (55 MPH), DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLASHED ON AND VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER SUDDENLY WITHOUT NOTICE. ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES AND ELECTRICAL POWER WAS LOST. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. VEHICLE LOSING ALL POWER SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WHY NO WARNING WAS GIVEN AS TO ANY ISSUES THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SAFETY HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING FULL SPEED DOWN THE INTERSTATE. APPROX. 75 MPH. THE SOUND WAS SO SUDDEN IT STARTLED ME AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL MONTHS AGO THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY AIRBAGS AND AN ISSUE WITH THE SEATBELTS THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY DURING A CRASH. A JUST RECENTLY RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM CARMAX WARNING ME OF THE SAME. I NEVER RECEIVED A REMEDY-IS-AVAILABLE EMAIL SO I LOOKED IT UP ON THIS SITE AND WAS INFORMED THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE BECAUSE THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. IT HAS BEEN CLOSE TO A YEAR, AND I WOULD LIKE THIS REMEDIED SO I AND MY PASSENGERS ARE AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE IN MY CAR. THANK YOU!
MY AIRBAG SENSOR HAS BEEN ON HAD A MECHANIC HOOK IT UP TO THE DAIGNOSTIC MACHINE AND WAS TOLD IT STILL HAD TO DO WITH THE AIRBAG IN THE HEAD REST WHICH WAS ALREADY SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. I HAVE TODAY OWNED THIS USED 2013 DODGE AVENGER AND THERE ARE 3 PROBLEMS THAT MAKE ME CRINGE. FIRST SOMEHOW THE BACK BUSHINGS ARE DONE ON THE CONTROL ARM, IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE OVER BUMPS. SECOND THE AC IS LEAKING AND NOW HAVE TO TAKE IT TO DODGE BECAUSE THEY MAKE IT SO I CANT DO IT MYSELF AND WANT ME TO PAY 1000 BECAUSE ITS A NAME YOUR PRICE KINDA THING, JERKS. LASTLY AFTER ONLY 6 YEARS I HAVE RUST EVERYWHERE. I WASH MY CAR EVERY 2 WEEKS BUT DODGE HAS BEEN KNOWN TO USE THE CHEAPEST METAL TO BUILD THEIR CARS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY HUSBAND WENT TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE ETC LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER, WENT FROM 40MPH TO 30MPH!!! WE COULDN'T PASS AND LUCKILY THERE WASN'T AN ACCIDENT! ANOTHER TIME AT A STOP SIGN, HE ACCELERATED AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE COULD ONLY GO 20 MPH, THANK GOD NO CARS WERE COMING!! WE'VE BE TOLD IT'S THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS WE ARE! THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE, IT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT! HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE INVESTIGATED SOON!!! I'VE ALSO NOTIFIED DODGE, THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME I'M ON MY OWN!!
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 DODGE AVENGER ON THE TURNPIKE AT SPEED OF 75MPH MY RED WARNING LIGHT THAT LOOKS LIKE A LIGHTNING BOLT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION WARNING LIGHTS. MY VEHICLE TENDED TO HESITATE ,JERK AND REDUCE SPEED DRAMATICALLY. THE VEHICLE WOULDNT EXCELLORATENO MORE THAN 10MPH. I ATTEMPTED TO STEER OFF TO A BRAKEDOWN LANE BUT WHILE DOING SO I NEARLY GOT SIDESWIPED AND REAR ENDED MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE LOOKED ON LINE AND SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REVOLVING AROUND THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT THE ONLY DRIVER THAT HAD NEAR MISSES WITH AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER PLEASE, FOR THE SAFTEY OF ALL DRIVERS. THANK YOU.
WHILE DRIVING, ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. DRIVER EXPERIENCED IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER IN VEHICLE & INABILITY TO INCREASE SPEED, CAUSING REAR TRAFFIC TO TAKE CAUTIOUS ACTION. VEHICLE SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 10 - 20 MPH. CAR OVERHEATS WHEN STOPPED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY (BUMPER TO BUMPER, RUSH HR. )AND ON LOCAL STREETS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. COOLING FANS NOT COMING ON. HAD IT TOWED TO A GARAGE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH COOLING SYSTEM THAT WAS UNDER RECALL. I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP WHO ASKED FOR MY VIN # AND SAID THERE WAS NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE PERTAINING TO THE COOLING SYSTEM.
TAKATA RECALL THIS CAR KEEPS BURNING OUT 15AMP FUSE. WE'VE NARROWED IT DOWN TO SOME FAULTY WIRES CONNECTED TO RAMPSHIFT SENOR, BUT THE CONNECTOR TO THE SENOR IS NOT AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE.
AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. IT CAN STAY ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES THEN TURN OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. CAR HAS 60,000 MILES. LOCAL DEALERSHIP TELLS ME IT WILL COST OVER 120 TO DIAGNOSE. I WORRY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS PROBLEM IF THE VEHICLE IS TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT WAS A REPRESENTATIVE OF A DEALER THAT CURRENTLY OWNS A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, ABRASIVE DEBRIS WAS FOUND IN THE BALANCE SHAFT BEARING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE BALANCE SHAFT MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V552000 (ENGINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,866.
WHILE STATIONARY, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) INDICATOR LIGHT AND THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) WERE BOTH ILLUMINATED FOR EVERY FAILED ATTEMPT. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER ON AND OFF ACCOMPANIED BY A CLICKING SOUND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE ENGINE. THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITION WAS HUMID AND COOL. THERE WAS CONDENSATION PRESENT ON THE VEHICLE. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE. IT HAD A WEAK IGNITION WITH THE INSTRUMENTS LIGHTS BRIEFLY DIMMING, BUT THE ENGINE STARTED. ATTEMPTED ADDITIONAL START-UP CYCLES TO CHECK IF THE ENGINE WOULD START AGAIN. THE ENGINE STARTED EACH TIME. THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITION DURING THE SECOND SET OF START-UP ATTEMPTS WAS WARM AND HUMID. NO CONDENSATION WAS PRESENT ON THE VEHICLE.
I WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY, GOING ABOUT 65 MPH WHEN THE RED LIGHTNING BOLT ON MY DASH CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER AND COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. ONCE I SHOWED TO A STOP I CUT THE ENGINE OFF, WHICH STALLED AND SHOOK WHILE IT TURNED OFF. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS I TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON, AND AFTER A QUARTER MILE THE RED LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO RESTART THE PROCESS. HAD A MECHANIC READ IT WITH A COMPUTER BUT NO ERROR CAME UP, AS THE LIGHT WASN'T ON AT THE MOMENT. ON THE WAY HOME IT CUT OFF AGAIN.
8-21-2017 HAD A RECALL PREFORMED FOR A AIRBAG ISSUE. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS DONE THERE WAS STILL A CODE IN THE SYSTEM FOR THE DRIVER ACTIVE HEADREST CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN. I HAD ALREADY INVESTIGATED THE AIRBAG LIGHT ( MARCH 2017) AND FOUND MANY SITES STATING A BROKEN WIRE IN DRIVERS SEAT. WHEN I GOT THE CAR HOME I FINALLY INVESTIGATE THE WIRE ISSUE AND FOUND THE BLACK WIRE APPROXIMATELY 2 INCHES BEFORE A YELLOW CONNECTOR WHERE A PLASTIC STRETCHER WAS APPLIED BROKEN INSIDE THE FIBER COVERING OF THE 2 WIRES. I WAS A MECHANIC FOR 30 YEARS SO I STRIPPED THE WIRES AND REATTACHED. THE LIGHT IS STILL ON SO I AM THINKING WHEN IT BROKE OR WHAT EVER IT CAUSED A SYSTEM ISSUE AND THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AT NO CHARGE. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BEST CHRYSLER PRODUCTS I HAVE OWNED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID IT COULD COST AROUND 400 TO FIX.

"TAKATA RECALL" ON 1/5/17 MY WIFE REAR ENDED ANOTHER DRIVER AFTER THEY SLAMMED ON BRAKES AND MY WIFE'S BRAKES SKIRTED CAUSE SEVER DAMAGED TO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR LEAVING HER AT FAULT AND AT THE TIME MY INSURANCE LAPSE ON THE CAR. BUT THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND SHE SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER KNEES NECK, SHOULDERS AND EYE. I FOUND DODGE HAS A RECALL FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL FOR THE AIRBAGS BUT NEVER TOLD ME AND REFUSED TO HELP IN ANY WAY AND TAKATA DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR MY CAR FOR THE AIRBAGS BUT FOR OTHER DODGE MODELS.

AFTER HEARING FROM A MECHANIC THAT THE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOY AND DODGE HAS A RECALL GOING ON I DID SOME RESEARCH IT WAS TRUE. AND MY CAR DID HAVE A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2016 BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY DODGE OR TAKATA. I HAVE OWN THIS CAR SINCE 2013 BRAND NEW AND HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 3 YEARS, AT ANY POINT IN TIME DURING THAT ME AND MY WIFE COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A REALLY BAD ACCIDENT AND DIED BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T WORK.
