TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT PURCHASED HIS VEHICLE USED FROM THE DEALER ON MARCH 9, 2009. THREE DAYS LATER, THE FRONT WHEELS BEGAN TO SHIMMY BADLY AND THE TRUNK LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT BALANCE THE WHEELS ON THE FRONT END. HE WAS ADVISED TO VISIT A DODGE DEALER; HOWEVER, DODGE COULD NOT BALANCE THE WHEELS AS WELL. CURRENLTY, THE DODGE DEALER IS ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR THE TRUNK ISSUE AND POSSIBLY THE WHEELS AGAIN. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,120.
I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF TRAFFIC WHEN I NOTICED A CAR COMING UP FROM BEHIND ME. TO AVOID GETTING HIT I ATTEMPTED TO THROTTLE DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL TO PASS A CAR IN THE SLOW LANE AND GET IN FRONT OF HIM TO AVOID THE SPEEDER COMING UP BEHIND ME. IN DOING SO I HEARD A SNAPPING SOUND. I WAS ABLE TO GET IN THE RIGHT LANE(SLOW LANE) AND PULL INTO A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND TO MY AMAZEMENT SAW MY ENTIRE GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY LYING ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR. I WAS ALSO AMAZED TO SEE THAT THE ENTIRE MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE GAS PEDAL IS MADE OF EITHER A PLASTIC OR RESIN COMPOUND AND FROM WHAT I CAN TELL SO IS THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY. THIS DOES NOT SEEM LIKE A STRONG ENOUGH MATERIAL TO BE USED ON SUCH CRUCIAL PARTS. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY DEALER AND THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY IS GOING TO BE REPLACED WITH THE SAME PART. I WILL BE ASKING FOR THE OLD PART BACK. *TR
