TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT CRONIC CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2515 N EXPY, GRIFFIN, GA 30223, (770) 227-4271) FOR MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TIRES WERE UNABLE TO BE ROTATED BECAUSE THE LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS WITH THE TIRE TOOL BECAUSE THE NUTS EXPANDED AND COULD FRACTURE IF ATTEMPTED TO BE REMOVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
CRACKS IN SIDEWALL FOUND AT 1-2 INCHES ABOVE BEAD LINE CIRCUMFERENCE IN A SET OF FOUR UNIROYAL TIGER PAW TOURING 215/65R17 99T M+S TIRES PURCHASED MARCH 2013 AND REMOVED SEPTEMBER 2105 AT 25,000 MILES. TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE TO PREVENT IMMINENT BLOWOUT, BUT SAVED TIRES FOR POSTERITY. TREAD STILL EXCELLENT. CRACKS NOTED ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF SIDEWALL, NOT BOTH, SO EASY TO MISS IF ON INTERIOR FACING SIDEWALL.
I HAD A FLAT TIRE AND TRIED TO REMOVE IT AND PUT THE SPARE ON BUT COULD NOT GET THE LUGS NUTS OFF BECAUSE THE TIRE WRENCH NO LONGER FIT THEM. I HAD TO GET CAR TRANSPORTED TO DODGE DEALERSHIP BY FLAT BED. WHEN WE GOT THERE THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM ON DODGE CHARGERS, CHALLENGERS, AND CHRYSLER 300'S. THE LUG NUT IS MANUFACTURED IN TWO PARTS, AND THE OUTER PART SWELLS MAKING THE LUG NUT DEFECTIVE. SO THEREFORE THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO PRY THEM OFF. WHEN THEY CHECKED THE OTHER LUG NUTS THEY WERE ALL BAD DUE TO A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A PRODUCT OF DODGE AND THEREFORE THEIR FAULT AND WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THEY CHARGED ME OVER $350.00 TO REPLACE ALL OF THESE LUG NUTS. I FEEL THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE ME TO BE STRANDED SOMEWHERE IF I HAVE A FLAT TIRE, BECAUSE I CANNOT CHANGE IT MYSELF DUE TO THIS DEFECT. I AM THANKFUL THAT THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY OR ELSE I WOULD BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITH NO WAY OF PUTTING THE SPARE ON. I FEEL I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS FAULTY DESIGN. THE TIRE TRACKSON LIGHT CAME ON IN 2014 I HAVE HAD A SET OF NEW TIRES PUT ON TWICE AND GET THE OIL AND TIRES ROTATING EVERY 4 MONTHS AND THE LIGHT HAS YET TO GO OFF AND THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHY THE LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND SAYS LOW TIRE PRESSURE. I AM REALLY SCARED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THE WHEELS TO LOCK OR SOMETHING ELSE AND CAUSES ME A BAD ACCIDENT, SO I REALLY DON'T DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE OF THAT, SO COULD YOU PLEASE LOOK OFF INTO IT AND LET ME AND OTHERS KNOW IF IT'S ANY DANGER TO IT. I'M HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE VALVE STEMS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE IS A 2010 DODGE CHARGER WITH FIRESTONE FIREHAWK PURSUIT TIRES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DOTHAN CHRYSLER DODGE, DOTHAN AL 7 TIMES ALREADY FOR VALVESTEMS AND IT ONLY HAS 13,400 MILES ON IT! THE VEHICLE IS OWNED BY THE ALABAMA DEPT. OF PUBLIC SAFETY, AND RAPID DEFLATION OF A TIRE IS A MAJOR CONCERN WHILE IN THE PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES AS AN ALABAMA STATE TROOPER. THE VALVE STEMS ARE LEAKING FROM THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES. I'M AT A LOSS AS HOW TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. DODGE DENIES ANY PROBLEM EVEN EXISTS. *TR
WE HAVE THREE 2010 POLICE PACKAGE DODGE CHARGERS ON OUR DEPARTMENT. ALL THREE WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE VALVE STEMS LEAKING. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEM. THE AIR PRESSURE SENSOR IS ATTACHED TO THE VALVE STEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN IN MY OPINION. IF YOUR GOING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED TO A CALL AND THE STEM COMES APART YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY WRECK YOUR PATROL CAR. OUR STATE HIGHWAY PATROL IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IF YOU CONTACT THE DODGE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS THEY WILL TELL YOU THE SAME THING. WHY CAN'T THE SENSOR GO ON A BAND THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL AS THEY HAVE DONE IN THE PAST. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE MALFUNCTIONED. THE LIGHT INDICATED LOW AIR PRESSURE IN THE TIRE, BUT THE TIRE WAS FILLED TO ITS ADEQUATE AIR PRESSURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE A FAILURE CODE WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SENSOR, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
