TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LIGHTS OPERATED INTENDED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
ISSUE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CONNECTS THE ENGINE COMPUTER. BURNS THROUGH ALTERNATORS AND BATTERIES
WHILE AT IDLE SPEED CAR REVS UP THEN DOWN AND REVS UP .. WHILE ACCELERATING CAR STALLS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL. .I WAS ON STREET
I WAS DRIVING TO MY RESIDENCE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT OF GEAR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN IT HAPPENED AND THE TOW SERVICE HAD TO CALL THE DEALER TO GET THE CAR REBOOTED AND TURNED OFF, AS IT WAS STILL RUNNING. THIS HAPPENED IN CLOSE TO MY HOUSE AND I WAS LUCKY THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE INTERSTATE. I AM REPORTING THIS AS IT IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST THREE DAYS. THE FIRST TIME WAS SUNDAY THE 17TH IF MARCH AND AGAIN ON THE 19TH OF MARCH 2019. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO WHERE I PURCHASED IT, (HILL- KELLY CHRYSTLER, DODGE, JEEP PENSACOLA, FL. (XXXX). TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT FELL ASLEEP AND STRUCK A CEMENT WALL OF A CULVERT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AT THE SCENE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT LATER WENT TO THE HOSPITAL FOR NECK AND HEAD PAIN. SHE WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND LATER RETRIEVED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. *DT*JB *BF CONSUMER IS RECOVERING FROM CONCUSSION. "TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE A 2015 DODGE DART WITH 55,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH IT STALLING WHILE STATIONARY. NOW ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS IT HAS STALLED WHILE GOING 40+ MPH. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IT THIS HAPPENS WITH TRAFFIC AROUND ME.
WHEN DRIVING YOU HIT A BUMP YOU HEAR A METAL CLANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE TIRE. WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE BREAKS THEY GO ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN BEFORE CATCHING AS IF THEY HAVE AIR IN THE LINES AND SOMETIMES YOU HEAR A HIDING NOISE. YOU CAN BE SITTING WITH THE BREAKS ENGAGED AND THEY WILL GO SOFT AND THE CAR WILL MOVE UNTIL THEY CAGE ON THEIR OWN.
OVER THE PAST MONTH, BRAKING ACTION IS DECLINING. THEY HAVE BECOME STIFF AND MUST BE DEPRESSED QUITE HARD TO STOP. THE BRAKE PADS, UPON INSPECTION, ARE ALMOST BRAND NEW AND THERE IS NO GRINDING. SEVERAL MECHANICS HAVE SUGGESTED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AS A POSSIBLE ISSUE. UPON MY OWN RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THOUSANDS OF 2013-2014 DODGE DARTS WERE RECALLED TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER, ALTHOUGH THE 2015 HAS NOT. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT EVENTUALLY, THE BRAKES WILL WORSEN OR FAIL AS HAS HAPPENED WITH MANY OTHERS WHO OWN THIS SAME VEHICLE, AS WRITTEN ON SEVERAL INTERNET FORUMS.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WHEN THE OIL GETS LOW, THE OIL LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON, AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN. THIS CAUSES THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP, AND IT BECOMES HARD TO PROPERLY PULL THE CAR OVER SAFELY. WHEN WILL DODGE RECALL THIS ENGINE?!!
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR GEAR SHIFT CABLE CAME APART WHILE SHIFTING GEARS TO PARK. I AM UNABLE TO MOVE FROM DIFFERENT GEARS. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OF REVIEWS CONCERNING THE GEAR SHIFT MALFUNCTION ONCE A CAR REACHES 70K MILES.
SEAT BELT DINGS AS IF YOUR BELT IS NOT LATCHED AND AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON.
MY CAR SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, SO WE WERE IN MOTION. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED 4 TIMES TO ME IN A SPAN OF 3 WEEKS. I CAN EITHER BE DRIVING DURING THE DAY OR NIGHT. IT WILL HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING OR WHEN I COME TO A STOP SIGN AND ADDING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE. ONCE IT HAPPENS, AND IF I PUT IT IN PARK AS WELL, THE STICK SHIFT WILL LOCK UP AS WELL. AGAIN THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 4 TIMES TO ME WHILE DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP.
THE CAR STALLS AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING IT TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAVING THE CAR DIE IS VERY UNSAFE TRYING TO GET OFF THE ROAD.
CAR IS STALLING AND CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. GOT AN OIL CHANGE. CAR DOESN'T REACT TO PUSHING ON ACCELERATOR. RPM REV AFTER HESITATING WITH FOOT ON THE GAS. CAR IS SHAKING AND RUNNING REALLY HARD. I BELIEVE ITS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, WHICH IS COMMON IN DODGE DARTS. ITS BEEN RECALLED, BUT NOT ON MY MODEL. STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. HAD TO RESTART CAR 3 TIMES.
ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED PROBABLE CAUSE WAS LOW OIL LEVEL DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION (~ 1 QUART IN 1600 MILES). THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED EXTENSIVELY ON-LINE WITH THIS ENGINE (2.4 LITER TIGERSHARK).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE ROLLED. WHILE BRAKING, THE BRAKE PADS SEIZED AND WOULD NOT MOVE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED DODGE'S CUSTOMER SERVICE HOT LINE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A BRAKE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
I'VE REPLACED MY BATTERY TWICE SINCE PURCHASE IN MAY. SOMETHING IS DRAINING THE BATTERY AND I'VE EVEN EXPERIENCED DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL MY DASH LIGHTS START BLINKING UNTIL THE CAR CUTS OFF AND I HAVE TO RESTART IT TO GET TO MY DESTINATION; AND THEN TAKE IT THE AUTO PARTS STORE TO HAVE THEM RECHARGE IT.
THE BRAKE BOOSTER WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A RURAL HIGHWAY MAKING IT VERY HARD TO STOP AND SLOW DOWN FOR CURVES IN THE ROAD. THE LIGHTS FLICKER IN THE CAB WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING. THE CAR DOESN'T SHIFT SMOOTHLY, SHIFTING IS DELAYED AT TIMES GOING FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND.
CAR IS BUCKING, NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR PROPERLY. LOSING POWER. WHEN MOVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL STIFFENED AND FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GOSSETT MOTOR CARS (901-328-8174, LOCATED AT 1870 COVINGTON PIKE, MEMPHIS, TN 38128) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
THE CAR WILL NOT SHUT OFF, I'M NOT A MECHANIC I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS I AM WASTING MONEY TRYING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IT'S BEEN LIKE THIS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS WELL AS MY OIL GOES AWAY REALLY FAST I HAVE TO GET AN OIL CHANGE SOONER THAN MOST EVEN USING THE GOOD SYNTHETIC OILS FROM THE DEALERSHIPS.
NO CHECK ENGINE OR WARNING LIGHT DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN 6TH GEAR CAR BLEW UP LOUD NOISE AND CAUGHT ON FIRE! ONLY 85,000 MILES WITH REGULAR SERVICES. LOST ALL POWER AND CLUTCH PEDAL DROPPED TO THE FLOOR AND COASTED TO SHOULDER WITH A LOT OF SMOKE COMING FROM ENGINE OPENED THE HOOD AND THERE WERE FLAMES WHERE TRANSMISSION FLUID GOES. I HAD NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING A COUPLE DAYS PRIOR BUT IT WAS CHRISTMAS TIME SO THOUGHT I COULD HAVE IT LOOKED AT AFTERWARD.
ENGINE STALLS, HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN PAST 2 MONTHS, VEHICLE MILEAGE 69,000. DEALERSHIP, POCOMO IN HAMPTON, VA. HAD VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE GEAR SHIFTER INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSANI BROTHERS (LOCATED AT 5750 MESMER AVE A, CULVER CITY, CA 90230, (310) 313-3400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED, FLICKERED, AND TURNED OFF ONE BY ONE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHEN MY OIL IS LOW, THERE IS NO WARNING ON DASH, MY CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FEW DEALERSHIPS IN SOUTH JERSEY AND THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE DODGE DARTS. IF MY HUSBAND WAS NOT A MECHANIC AND CHANGED OIL EARLY, I WOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE EVERY TIME!
DAUGHTER WAS REAR ENDED IN THE DODGE DART AT 50 MILES AN HR AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
FINISHED DRIVING, PULLED INTO PARKING LOT AT MY APARTMENT AND TRIED PLACING CAR INTO PARK AND IT WOULD NOT GO, IT IS IN NEUTRAL OR IS DISPLAYING NEUTRAL AND KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND THE GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT GO INTO ANY GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS JUST PARKING THE CAR.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON....CAUSING LOSS OF POWER....
WILL SEND YOU A COPY OF A RECALL THAT WAS PAID FOR. CAN I GET COMPENSATED?
VEHICLE STARTED STALLING LAST WINTER AFTER REMOTE START THOUGHT IT WAS REMOTE START ACTING UP BUT NOW IT STARTED STALLING RANDOMLY AT IDLE AND TURNING NOW IT HAS STALLED DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT RESTART RIGHT AWAY, IT IS SCHEDULED TO HAVE AN OIL CHANGE IN 4 DAYS SO I STARTED SEARCHING WHY IT WOULD BE STALLING AND READ ABOUT EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I JUST CHECKED MY OIL AND IT IS BARELY READING ON DIPSTICK. THIS IS BS THERE IS NO WAY IT SHOULD BE CONSUMING THIS MUCH OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND IT ONLY HAS 33,000 MILES ON IT.
DART RECALL I BROUGHT THE DART IN TO DO A REFLASH FOR MY CAR TO STOP THE HARSH IDLE, CHOKE AND KNOCK .ALSO THAT THE CAR SHUTS OFF FROM A ROLLING STOP TO ACCELERATION AFTER THE REFLASH 2 DAYS LATER THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS SEVERAL WEEKS LATER TODAY 11/17/18 THE CAR SHUT OFF AS USUAL BUT IN A INTERSECTION HAD TO TURN ON THE CAR AND HOPE WHEN PUTTING IT IN DRIVE THE ENGINE DOESN'T SHUTOFF AGAIN IN COLD WEATHER THE VEHICLE HAS A KNOCKING GRIND SOUND AND OCCASIONALLY WILL TURN OFF IF THE IDLE DROPS LOW TO 500 AND THEN IMMEDIATELY APPLYING LITTLE GAS AND THE WARM WEATHER COMES BY OR AFTER FIRST DRIVEN THE GRINDING NOISE IS GONE BUT SAME ISSUE WHEN THE IDLE DROPS TO LOW THE ENGINE JUST DOES AND BATTERY LIGHT TURNS ON THE BATTERY IS GOOD BUT THIS ISSUE HASN'T BEEN FIXED AND WHEN I WENT THE SAID IT'S NORMAL BUT THEY DID A REFLASH
ON EVENING OF FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2018, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AND WAS VERY SLUGGISH. THE NEXT DAY NOVEMBER 10, 2018 AT 12:15 PM WHILE DRIVING ON HWY 485 IN CHARLOTTE NC AND BEFORE I COULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A CHECK; THE CLUTCH BRAKE EXPLODED LIKE A GRENADE, SENDING SCHRAPNAL THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION. WE WERE LUCKY IT DIDN'T COME THROUGH THE CAB OR MY FAMILY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE TRAFFIC WAS VERY HEAVY DUE TO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND, WE WERE ALSO LUCKY THAT WE DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE DRIVEN STANDARD TRANSMISSIONS ALL MY LIFE AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. TO SAY THE VERY LEAST I AM UPSET THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTEE DUE TO THE LOW MILEAGE AND SINCE I BOUGHT IT ON JAN 29, 2016, IT IS UNDER 3 YEARS. HOWEVER, I AM LOOKING AT A $3500 BILL TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, THE CLUTCH BRAKE SHOULD NEVER EXPLODE LIKE THAT. CHRYSLER IS SELLING WEAK MANUFACTURED PARTS TO THE PUBLIC. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND CHECKED OR REPLACED WITH A BETTER CLUTCH BRAKE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WOULD SHUT DOWN WITH OUT NOTICE, WHEN DOING SO IT'S HARD TO STEER THE CAR OVER OUT OF TRAFFIC, WHICH IS DANGEROUS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN.
THE 2015 DODGE DART WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 WITH 35,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN REGULARLY MAINTAINED HAD HASN'T HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL NOVEMBER 9, 2019. THE CAR WAS STARTED THAT MORNING AND IDLED APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES, IT DROVE ABOUT 60 FEET AND STALLED, POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHERE LOST. THE BATTERY LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. WHEN TRYING TO RESTART IT STRUGGLED, BUT EVENTUALLY TURNED OVER. IT THEN DROVE FINE . ONCE AT HOME I RESEARCH THE ISSUE AND FOUND MULTIPLE REPORTS LIKE MINE OF ENGINES STALLING DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION.
I STARTED MY VEHICLE THIS MORNING AND IT STARTED ROUGH AND WAS SURGING. AT TAKEOFF THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING STRANGLY. SLOWED TO MAKE A UTURN, TURNED TO THE LEFT SLIGHTLY AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, CAR SHUT DOWN AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN. I ALMOST RAN A MAN OVER TRYING TO STOP AS I COULD NOT STEER. THE BATTERY SYMBOL POPPED UP ON THE DASH. I POPPED CAR IN PARK. REMOVED KEY. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND IT TOOK A GOOD 5-10 SECONDS BEFORE TURNING OVER. THERE WAS HESITATION UPON START. AFTER BEGINNING TO DRIVE IT SEEMED TO BE DRIVING NORMALLY..THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIT OF A TICKING TIME BOMB AND A VERY LARGE SAFETY ISSUE AND SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE ACROSS ALL MODELS
MY 2015 DODGE DART ENGINE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHEN I DRIVE IT , I'VE BRUNG IT TO MULTIPLE REPAIR SHOPS AND THEY HAVE ALL SAID THAT MY CAR IS FINE NO CODES SHOWS UP ON DIAGNOSTIC. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF NO AUTO SHOP KNOWS WHAT'S TO DO AND IS KEEP SAYING MY ENGINE IS FINE WHEN OBVIOUSLY IT ISN'T IF IT KEEPS ON RANDOMLY SHUTTING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.
RECALL NUMBER: 19V-293 AT THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2018, I DROVE UP TO MY HOUSE IN THE DRIVEWAY, SHIFTED INTO PARK, LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, AND MY CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS! I TRIED SHIFTING INTO DRIVE AGAIN THEN TO TRY TO MOVE IT INTO PARK AGAIN BUT THE LIGHT ON THE DASH SHOWED STILL IN PARK, EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER WAS IN DRIVE. I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT FROM ROLLING AWAY. THE NEXT DAY, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (COURTESY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN TAMPA, FL) BUT THEY SAID IT WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED, I HAD TO PURCHASE THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE AND IT WOULD COST ME OVER $500 TO REPLACE IT. I WAS FURIOUS AS THIS IS WAY OUTSIDE OF MY BUDGET. I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE A TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BUSHING REPAIR KIT FOR $35 OFF OF AMAZON. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ABLE TO REPLACE THE BUSHING AND IT WORKS FINE (FOR NOW) BUT MY CONCERN IS WONDERING, WITH THIS RECALL, IF SOMETHING IS CAUSING THE BUSHING TO WEAR DOWN AND BREAK, CAUSING THESE ISSUES OR POTENTIALLY CAUSING A VEHICLE CRASH. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS RECALL THIS MONTH (JUNE 2019) AND APPARENTLY IT'S BEEN ONGOING SINCE, AT THE LATEST, 2016?? AND THE DEALERSHIP KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT? UNBELIEVABLE. IF THE STATUS IS "RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" AND IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS, THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE ABLE TO ALLOW US TO TRADE THE CAR IN TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T HAVE A CHANCE TO CAUSE THIS MALFUNCTION WITH A POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE CRASH, WITHOUT US GETTING THE WORSE END OF THE DEAL.
MY CAR HAS 34,000 MILES AND I CAN'T FILL UP AT A GAS PUMP. IT WILL FUEL FOR 2 SECONDS AND CLICK OFF. I CALLED DODGE BUT IT'S NOT LINGER UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY DUE TO TIME. THE CAR IS BRAND NEW AND IV NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE. I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN ONLINE NEITHER DO THE DEALERS AND I'M NOT GOING TO SPEND THOUSANDS GETTING THIS PROBLEM LOOKED AT WHEN IT BARLEY HAS ANY MILES ON IT.

STARTED ABOUT A MINUTE LATER. *DT UPDATED 11/29/18*JB *DT*DT*JB THE CONSUMER STATED DEALER ADVISED THE ENGINE WAS KNOWN TO CONSUME OIL. THERE WAS NO KNOWN REPAIR OR RECALL. WHILE DRIVING AT A FAIRLY HIGH SPEED WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT MY CLUTCH JUST DROPPED TO THE FLOOR AND THE MANUAL STICK SHIFT SHIFTED INTO GEARS ON IT'S OWN JUMPING AND NOT NEEDING THE CLUTCH TO SHIFT. LED TO TOTAL IMMOBILIZATION WITH CARS BEHIND ME, I LUCKILY MADE IT OVER TO A DIRT AREA BETWEEN THE ROAD AND A DITCH SAFELY.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY DODGE DART WITHOUT ANY INDICATION COMPLETELY DIES AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE WHEN IT DOES SO. THE PARKING BRAKE KEEPS FAILING UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AT AROUND 32,000 MILES FOR A STICKING REAR BRAKE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER WAS DEFECTIVE. AFTER JUMPING THROUGH A FEW HOOPS, IT WAS REPAIRED. NOW AT 39,000 MILES IT'S DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN, IN ADDITION THE LEFT REAR CALIPER STARTED STICKING. ON MY 3 MILE DRIVE HOME FROM WORK RIGHT AFTER THE SYMPTOMS OF EXTENDED PARKING BRAKE HANDLE TRAVEL FOR PROPER ENGAGEMENT STARTED. I PULL IN MY DRIVEWAY AND MY REAR ROTORS ARE GLOWING. THERE WAS NO SMEL OF HOT BRAKE COMPONENTS AT ALL. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WORKS ON A STANDARD TRANSMISSION CAR, TO PREVENT ROLL SWAYS. LEAVING IT IN GEAR IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ENOUGH.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE GEAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V542000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAKOTA CHRYSLER CENTER (7950 179TH AVE SE, WAHPETON, ND 58075, 701-642-1551) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
PLACED CAR IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT GEAR TO DRIVE. UNABLE TO REMOVE THE CAR HAD TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT, UNTIL 6 HOURS LATER UNABLE TO SHIFT ANY GEARS CAR RAN ALL NIGHT UNTIL THE BATTERY DIED. I WAS ON A CITY STREET WORKING FINE WITHOUT A PROBLEM UNTIL POOF IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SHIFT TO DRIVE.
BATTERY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS DUE TO SOMETHING DRAINING THE BATTERY BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND. ELECTRICAL IS ALL MESSED UP, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. WHEN CAR IS TURNED ON AT RANDOMLY THE AIR AND MUSIC WILL GO FULL BLAST AND IT CANNOT BE TURNED DOWN OR SHUT OFF. MECHANICALLY THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE BUT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE MOVES UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE SITTING STILL DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WHEN DRIVING ON NORMAL BACKROADS OR HIGHWAYS THERE IS A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA AND NOTHING HAS BEEN FOUND AS TO WHY IT MAKES THE NOISE.
CLUTCH RATTLES AND VIBRATES. I ALREADY REPLACED IT AT MY COST SINCE REFUSED TO COVER TRANSMISSION CLUTCH IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. CAR HAS 51K MILES. REPLACED WERE THE CLUTCH, CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE , SLAVE CYLINDER, THROW OUT BEARING, DETERIORATING MASTER CYLINDER TO THE SLAVE CYLINDER WAS EXCESSIVE FOR THE MILEAGE AND WEAR ON THE CAR.
