WHEN STARTING THE CAR THE RPMS RACE ON THEIR OWN. IT ACCELERATES ON IT OWN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. TAKING MULTIPLE TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING RANDOMLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD AND MADE A LOUD NOISE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST. THE CONTACT CALLED CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (24 1020 BELMONT ST, BROCKTON, MA 02301) WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V542000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION, BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND CAME TO A 4 WAY STOP SIGN, AFTER COMPLETELY STOPPING I PROCEEDED TO PULL OFF. AS I BEGAN TO TURN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN TREMENDOUSLY AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE RED BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR BACK UP UNTIL ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES LATER. EVERY DAY FOLLOWING THIS DAY, THE CAR BEGAN TO START UP AND STOP AFTER GOING ONLY A FEW FEET WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON.
VEHICLE HAS SCARING ON THE CYLINDER WALLS THAT IS SOAKING UP OIL AND CAUSING A EXCESSIVE OIL LOSS, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN WHEN TAKING A CORNER AND NOT ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD A FEW TIMES NOT ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN ME HAVING TO JUMP START IT TO BE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2.4L TIGERSHARK ENGINES. I AM AFRAID I WILL BE STRANDED ON A BUSY STREET AND THE POSSIBILITY TO BE HIT. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE SELLING DEALERSHIP AND IS TELLING ME THAT CHRYSLER IS DENYING THE CLAIM FOR A ENGINE REPLACEMENT, THEY ARE TELLING THE TECH TO GIVE ME AN OIL CHANGE AND SEND ME ON MY WAY.
WHEN BRAKING, BRAKES FEELS HARD AND REQUIRE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FORCE TO ACTIVATE. A HISSING SOUND IS OCCURRING AND BRAKE FORCE WILL OFTEN NOT ENGAGE UNTIL HALFWAY INTO THE PETAL. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED BY MY MECHANIC, BUT ACCORDING TO HIM AND SOME RESEARCH I'VE DONE ONLINE, THIS SEEMS EXACTLY LIKE AN ISSUE WITH THE DODGE DART 2013 RECALL FOR THE SAME PART. AS TAKEN FROM DODGE'S SITE: THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON YOUR VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE ENGINE OIL MIGRATION FROM THE VACUUM PUMP, THROUGH THE VACUUM SUPPLY TUBE, AND INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. PROLONGED BRAKE BOOSTER DIAPHRAGM EXPOSURE TO ENGINE OIL COULD CAUSE THE DIAPHRAGM TO FAIL. THIS COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF BRAKE BOOSTER ASSIST AND/OR AN AIR LEAKING SOUND. A LOSS OF BRAKE BOOSTER ASSIST COULD REQUIRE THE DRIVER TO APPLY ADDITIONAL BRAKE PEDAL FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE LACK OF BRAKE BOOSTER ASSIST COULD CHANGE THE BRAKING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. I'M PUTTING IN THIS COMPLAINT WITH THE HOPE TO AVOID OTHERS FROM ACCIDENTS AND ULTIMATELY TO HOPE TO GET A REFUND FROM THE SERVICE AND PARTS I HAD TO GET INTO MY CURRENT CAR. I RECOGNIZE THAT THE DOT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR A REFUND BUT WOULD BE INSTRUMENTAL IN HAVING DODGE ISSUE A RECALL IF ENOUGH OTHER 2015 DODGE DART OWNERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS AS WELL. THANK YOU
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ELECTRONICS AND GAUGES SUDDENLY TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FRIENDLY DODGE (1395 NEWLANDS DR, FRIENDLY, NV) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THERMOSTAT WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND FAILED TO DEPRESS. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE ENGAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE "EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE SERVICED" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FUCCILLO CHRYSLER JEEP (4589 STATE HIGHWAY 30, AMSTERDAM, NY 12010, (518) 843-3333) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, OIL WAS LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 57923582. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS STOPPED AT A 4WAY STOP AND WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD THE CAR STALLED ON ME AND DID NOT MOVE. I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES, LET GO AND PRESSED ON THE GAS AGAIN AND IT DID THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME THE DASH READ "GEAR NOT AVAILABLE, SWITCH TO NEUTRAL AND THEN TO DRIVE OR REVERSE." I DID THAT BUT IT STILL STALLED ON ME AND THEN THE DASH READ "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. AFTER ONE MORE TRY I MANAGED TO GET IT TO MOVE SO I JUST PARKED IT IN AN EMPTY PARKING SLOT AND CALLED MY DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AS I TYPE THIS I'M AWAITING A CALL FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MY DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN TELL ME WHAT WENT WRONG. I HOPE IT CAN BE FIXED.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, WHAT-SO-EVER. MY VEHICLE HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO WITHOUT A WORKING EMERGENCY BRAKE, I CANNOT PARK THE CAR ON ANY SORT INCLINE. I'VE SEEN ON NUMEROUS ONLINE FORUMS THAT MANY DODGE DART OWNERS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THEIR EMERGENCY BRAKES AS WELL, IN PARTICULAR, DODGE DART VEHICLES WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. BASED ON FEEDBACK I'VE READ ON OTHER FORUMS, IT SEEMS THAT THE MANUFACTURER DIDN'T PROPERLY INSTALL THE CABLE THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS ATTACHED TOO. I HAD ONE INSTANCE WHERE MY VEHICLE ALMOST ROLLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE PARKING BRAKE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAD ANOTHER INSTANCE WHERE I HAD PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE IN A CROWDED SHOPPING CENTER WITH PEDESTRIANS PASSING THROUGH THE PARKING LOT WHERE THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACK. I BARELY HAVE OVER 45,000 MILES AND I'VE OWNED CARS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS SINCE I STARTED DRIVING OVER 20 YEARS AGO. THIS IS THE FIRST INSTANCE I'VE EVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE EMERGENCY BREAK, AND I'VE DRIVEN CARS THAT WERE MUCH OLDER THAN THE ONE I OWN NOW. IT SEEMS THIS IS A MAJOR FLAW IN THE 2015 DODGE DART THAT CHRYSLER FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE. I HOPE THAT THE NHTSA CAN TAKE ACTION UPON CHRYSLER TO AVOID ANY POTENTIAL FUTURE INJURIES DUE TO THE FACT THAT CHRYSLER DIDN'T PROPERLY ATTACH THE CABLES IN THE EMERGENCY/PARKING BRAKES FOR THE 2015 MANUAL DODGE DART MODELS.
CAR CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AFTER A COUPLE TRIES OF RESTARTING IT IT WILL FINALLY START AND DRIVE OK . BUT IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND IS DANGEROUS WHAT IF THIS HAPPEN ON EXPRESS WAY . SOMEONE CAN DIE FROM THIS ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE HANDLED
I'LL BE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND IT WILL ACT LIKE IT WANTS TO DOWNSHIFT AND FORWARD MOMENTUM IS LOST FOR A FEW SECONDS FORWARD MOMENTUM IS LOST FOR A FEW SECONDS AND CLICKING NOISES ARE HER DURING THIS PROCESS
WHEN DRIVING THE DART, THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE IN DRIVE. THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT IT IS A SAFETY SWITCH FOR LOW OIL. HOWEVER THERE IS NO OIL LIGHT TURNING ON ON THE DASH BOARD AND THERE IS OIL LIFE REMAINING ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO RESOLVE. THE DEALER HAS EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO SAY "WELL, YOU BOUGHT A DODGE DART". WHEN WE PURCHASED THE DART, WE BOUGHT THE MAINTENANCE PACKAGE, INCLUDING OIL CHANGES. WE USE THIS PACKAGE ALL THE TIME AND THERE WOULD BE NO EXCUSE TO BE LOW ON OIL THAT FAST IN A NEWER VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED A HALF DOZEN TIMES, SPEEDS VARYING FROM DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT (5-10MPH) , TO DOWN A STREET(35-45MPH) THANKFULLY NEVER ON A HIGHWAY. WE ARE FEARFUL FOR THE DAY THIS HAPPENS WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WE HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DAIMLER CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE NOT HELPED. ONE MECHANIC HAS TOLD ME THIS HAPPENS MORE OFTEN THAT YOU WOULD THINK. BUT STILL NO RESOLVE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY WIFE, I SEEN SPARKS IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. UPON PULLING OVER AND CHECKING THE TIRES(FIGURED A TIRE BLEW OUT AND WE WERE RIDING ON A RIM) I NOTICED A GLOWING COMING FROM UNDER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. BY THE TIME I GOT MY WIFE AND OUR DOG OUT OF THE CAR SMOKE WAS COMING INTO THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED EMERGENCY BY THE TIME I GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THE DISPATCHER THE CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED. CHRYSLER DID AN "INVESTIGATION AND TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FIRE. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS OTHERS WITH THE SAME RESULT AS OUR CAR.
MY BRAKES STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY, I TOOK MY CAR TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND IT IS THE POWER BOOSTER AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT THE 2013 & 2014 HAD RECALLS FOR SO WHY NOT THE 2015, MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME . IT WAS HARD TO STOP MY CAR AND A SCARY SITUATION

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT OF WINCHESTER (1659 BERRYVILLE PIKE, WINCHESTER, VA 22603 (540) 667-5532), BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE BURNED OFF OIL AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TAKATA RECALL WHILE DIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH I WAS TAKING A LEFT TURN INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN CAUSING ME TO STRIKE MY DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL ON THE CURB DISABLING MY VEHICLE. THE MOTOR STILL CONTINUED TO REV AT A HIGH RPM FOR 10-15 SECONDS AFTER IMPACT WITHOUT THE ACCELERATOR BEING TOUCHED.

MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING HIS 2015 DODGE DART ON THE ROAD AND IT COMPLETELY STALLED ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT THEN STARTED UP AGAIN AND DROVE. CAR WOULD NOT START AT SCHOOL UNTIL MANY TRIES. CAR 1 DAY LATER, 09202017, STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND AND THANK GOD NO CARS WERE BEHIND HIM FOR A REAR END ACCIDENT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION ! DEALER INDICATED THE CAR WAS LOW ON OIL (ONLY 25% OIL LEFT). NO ENGINE OIL LIGHT HAS COME ON TO EVER WARN US. ADDITIONALLY, THE DODGE DART FORM WEBSITE INDICATES THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE DART'S 2.4L ENGINE CONSUMING 1 QUART OR MORE EVERY 2,000 MILES. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A NEW CAR TO BURN THIS MUCH OIL AND CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF PROTECTION WHILE ON A FREEWAY OR BUSY ROAD WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. DEALERS ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY AND DON'T INVESTIGATE THIS ENGINE PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE HELP THIS COMMUNITY OF CAR OWNERS BEFORE ACCIDENTS OCCUR AND LOSS OF VEHICLE ENGINES AT GREAT EXPENSE TO OWNER. MANY PEOPLE ON THE MENTIONED FORUM ALSO INDICATE THEIR OIL LOW LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON TO WARN THEM BEFORE THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF "WHILE DRIVING"
TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND THE CAR RPM REVVED UP LIKE I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND A FEW LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH THEN THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF I HAD TO FIGHT TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BC O LOST POWER STEERING AND THE CARE WOULD CRANK BACK UP I TOOK THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WEIDEN GERMANY AND THEY SAID THEY REST THE COMPUTER
TPMS SYSTEM FAILURE (MULTIPLE TIMES) I HAVE HAD MY TPMS SYSTEM REPAIRED THREE TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE AND IT NEVER FAILS THAT IT STOPS WORKING AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER GETTING IT FIXED. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS IS CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT COULD BE FOR SOME PEOPLE THAT DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR TIRES. THE RIGHT CV AXLE HAS ALSO GONE OUT OF MY CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 70,000 MILES. THIS ITEM WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY BUT OTHER FRIENDS THAT OWN DARTS HAVE MENTIONED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IT CREATED A BAD POPPING NOISE AND MADE GOING OVER BUMPS SLIGHTLY UNSTABLE. TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE -- THIS IS ACTIVE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE BUT FIGURED I WOULD INCLUDE THE INFORMATION.
ON MARCH 31, 2017, I HIT A CURB WITH THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE OF MY VEHICLE DAMAGING PARTS OF THE SUSPENSION, INCLUDING THE CONTROL ARM, AS WELL AS THE BODY. AT THE TIME, I ASSUMED THAT WHEN I HIT THE CURB, MY WHEEL WAS TURNED, WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE SUSPENSION. CAR WAS REPAIRED. AT TIMES THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A CLUNKING NOISE WHILE TURNING LEFT OR WHEN ACCELERATING. ALSO AT TIMES, AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE. ON AUGUST 17, 2017, I WAS STOPPED TO YIELD FOR A VEHICLE CROSSING A ONE LANE BRIDGE. THIS BRIDGE WAS FLAT AND SMOOTH, WITH A CURVE AROUND TO THE LEFT IN MY DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. I STARTED MOVING TO GO OVER THE BRIDGE AND WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 5-10 M.P.H., AS I APPROACHED THE LEFT CURVE, I STARTED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY LEFT IN ANTICIPATION OF THE CURVE. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME NON RESPONSIVE AND I WAS UNABLE TO STEER MY VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE KEPT GOING LEFT, CAUSING ME TO IMPACT A CURB AND GUARD RAIL, AGAIN ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT. THE BODY SHOP SAID I HAD TO HAVE HIT SOMETHING TO SNAP THE BRAND NEW CONTROL ARM. I HIT NOTHING PRIOR TO IMPACT WITH THE CURB AND GUARD RAIL. THERE IS MINIMAL BODY DAMAGE BUT THE CONTROL ARM IS SNAPPED. I AM WONDERING IF THERE IS SOME TYPE OF POSSIBLE DEFECT WITH THE CONTROL ARM THAT WOULD CAUSE IT TO FRACTURE AND SNAP, LEADING TO MY LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND COLLISION. I HAVE READ WHERE DEFECTIVE CONTROL ARMS HAVE BEEN NOTED ON OTHER DODGE VEHICLES.
BOTH OF MY HEADLIGHTS & BALLASTS WENT BAD. IT'S GOING TO COST ME $990 TO HAVE REPAIR. I WAS ASKED IF I WANTED THEM FIXED...LIKE IF I HAD CHOOSE? DON'T YOU NEED LIGHTS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT? A-HOLES A COMPLIANT HAS BEEN FILED WITH DODGE CORP OFFICE (#32146428). THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO CALL (8/8/17) AND NEVER DID SO FAR.
ENGINE IS BURNING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. I HAVE TO FILL UP THE ENGINE WITH OIL TO KEEP IT FROM STALLING, EVERY 2 WEEKS. WHEN THE ENGINE USES UP THAT OIL, IT STALLS MULTIPLE OF TIMES UNTIL I CAN DRIVE IT TO AN AUTOSHOP.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

MY MAIN CONCERN IS HIGHWAY DRIVING WHERE PEOPLE DRIVE 60+ MPH AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER INTO THE SHOULDER.
