APRIL 2014 NOTICED LOUD SOUND AND NO BRAKES AFTER GOING THROUGH CARWASH. SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED THE FIRST RECALL ON THE BRAKE LINE. PHONED DEALERSHIP BUT WAS TOLD I WAS ON A LIST AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE JULY 2014. I'VE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES BUT STILL NOT GOTTEN THE CALL TO GET MY CAR IN. HAD TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR WATER PUMP - AT THAT TIME THE SERVICE MANAGER LOOKED AT MY BRAKES AND TOLD ME I DEFINITELY HAD A PROBLEM AND WOULD MOVE ME TO FRONT OF THE LIST. STILL NO CALLS. SINCE THAT TIME I'VE RECEIVED SEVERAL MORE SAFETY RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE BUT AM NEVER ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT. I'VE ASKED SINCE I HAVE TO LEAVE THE CAR TO GET A RENTAL AT THEIR EXPENSE. THEY REFUSED. I WORK 40 TO 50 MILES OUT OF TOWN AND THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE. I'M ALREADY BEING PUT OUT HAVING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN WHY SHOULD I ALSO HAVE TO BARE THE EXPENSE OF A RENTAL CAR AS WELL. IT HAS NOW BEEN WELL OVER A YEAR, MY BREAKS ARE STILL BAD. I PANIC EVERY TIME IT RAINS. MY VEHICLE HAS RECENTLY STARTED CAUSING PROBLEMS ON STARTING UP - IT WON'T COMPLETELY TURN OVER - BUT IT JUST KEEPS STEADILY TRYING - IT WON'T LET ME CUT IT OFF AND IT'S LIKE ITS FLOODING ITSELF. I NOW HAVE A LARGE STACK OF RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH DODGE AND THE LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY. I'M PAYING A CAR NOTE FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SIDE IMPACT THAT RAISED VEHICLE TO APPROXIMATELY 30 DEGREES. BODY SHOP SAID AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. EXPLAINED TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THERE WAS NO CHECK DONE TO CONFIRM THAT AIRBAGS WERE IN WORKING ORDER. DEALER SAYS THAT IT OBVIOUSLY WASN'T SUFFICIENT ENOUGH IMPACT TO DEPLOY AIRBAGS. I'M NOT CONVINCED AFTER READING ABOUT DEFECTS. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS ADDRESSED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS REGARDING WINDOW GOING UP AND DOWN, LOCKING SYSTEM AND ALARM SYSTEM ACTUATING ON THEIR OWN, WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED. DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE ISSUE, BUT WHEN IT FINALLY WAS PROVEN, THEY REPAIRED THE WINDOW ONLY AND WE WERE FORCED TO PAY TO GET OUTER VEHICLE BACK. I FEEL THAT THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ISSUE.
WE HAVE A 2013 DODGE DURANGO WITH APROX 1600 MILES ON IT. I HAVE NOTICED ON TWO DIFFERENT DAYS NOW THAT WHEN I GET INTO THE VEHICLE AND START IT THAT THE "READING LAMPS" THAT ARE UP BY THE SUNGLASSES HOLDER LOCATED IN THE FRONT TOP OF THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT THEY ARE "ON" ... AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN THEM OFF. THEN ON A DIFFERENT DAY I WENT TO RUN ERRANDS, AND I GOT IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE 3 TIMES, AND AFTER ALL 3 OCCASIONS WHEN I GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE THE LIGHTS WERE "ON" AGAIN....THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE CAR THAT COULD TURNED THEM ON, AND IT WAS DAYLIGHT OUTSIDE EVERY TIME. I'M NOT FOR SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT IT WORRY'S ME A BIT SINCE I HAVE SEEN THESE OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING LIGHTING/ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND POSSIABLE HEADLINER FIRES! I SEE THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION WITH CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS OR A SIMILAR ISSUE....I WOULD LIKE TO ADD MY INCIDENT TO THIS AS WELL...HOPING THEY CAN GET THIS FIGURED OUT AND FIND A FIX TO THE RISK/ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUMPER CLIP LOOSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUMPER CLIP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ON THE 2013 DODGE DURANGO THAT I CURRENTLY OWN WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN JUNE 2013, THE NAVIGATION AND CAMERA SYSTEM GOES COMPLETELY BLANK WHILE DRIVING OR BACKING UP. THE VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING WHILE IN DRIVE GEAR, AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION FAILS TO WORK PROPERLY AND SKIPS SECOND GEAR, THE VEHICLE ALSO IDLES HIGH AND LOW WHILE IN OPERATION OF DRIVE. *TR
VEHICLE HAS LESS THE MILES ON IT. VEHICLE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WAS EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IN THE WHEEL AND BODY WHICH CAUSED PASSENGERS AND VEHICLE TO SHAKE. DASH BOARD INDICATED THAT ALL 4 TIRES NEEDED AIR. TOOK VEHICLE TO HAVE PROPER AIR PRESSURE ADDED TO TIRES. VIBRATION REMAINED. MADE APPOINTMENT AT BOSAK DODGE IN MERILLVILLE INDIANA. SERVICE WRITER INFORMED ME I MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR SERVICE IF THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING. GOT CALLED NEXT DAY THAT THE TPMS LIGHT WAS BACK ON AND THEY ADDED AIR BUT FOUND NO VIBRATION. I INFORMED SERVICE WRITER THAT THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. HE INFORMED ME IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE. DON'T AGREE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, A SUDDEN BURNING ODOR WAS EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WHERE SHE NOTICED THAT THE HEADLINER HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. A LIST OF THE PROBLEMS INCLUDE: TAIL LIGHTS BURNING OUT, SEAT HEATERS NOT WORKING, REAR AC NOT WORKING, SUNROOF NOT WORKING, SIDE MIRRORS NOT WORKING, SEAT ADJUSTER NOT WORKING, AND SOME OF THE ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. EVERY TIME THEY TELL ME IT IS A SHORT THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEIR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT MATCH MINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
THE CAR STALLS WHEN ON REVERSE OR WHEN TRYING TO START UP. I'VE TRIED DIFFERENT ENGINE TEMPERATURES. WHEN HOT OR COLD AND IT CONTINUES TO GIVE ME THE SAFE ISSUE. I'VE TAKEN VEHICLE TO THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND ALL SAY VEHICLE IS FINE, YET NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN WHY VEHICLE DOES NOT START UP. *TR
TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THE TRUCK WAS LEAKING FLUID. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER ON 2 OCCASIONS. THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED
RADIO HAS BLANKED OUT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS SERVICED WAS 2 WEEKS AFTER THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED, THE TRUCK HAS HAD THIS ISSUE INTERMITTENTLY SINCE PURCHASE.
DRIVING DOWN 101 SOUTHBOUND APPROX 10 MILES NORTH OF CRESCENT CITY, CA AT APPROX 55MPH SUNROOF SUDDENLY SHATTERED WITH A LOUD AUDIBLE POP. SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME, WITH MANUAL ROOF SLIDER IN PLACE AS WELL. VEHICLES BEHIND WERE STRUCK BY GLASS BUT DID NOT STOP. *TR
ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE, COUNTLESS PROBLEMS WITH BRAND NEW VEHICLE, BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE STUTTERING, OR "FISHBITE", PROBLEM WITH THE MDS SENSOR THAT OPERATES THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THIS SUPPOSED CHARACTERISTIC, AS CHRYSLER CALLS IT, CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO BUCK AND JERK LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO CUT OUT, BETWEEN 40-80 MPH ON LEVEL GROUND AND ON HILLS. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS CONTINUOUS PROBLEM, STAR CASE OPENED, TECHS FROM CHRYSLER CONSULTED AND BEING TOLD THAT ITS REQUIRED TO FUEL WITH 89 OCTANE, WHICH IS NOT STATED ON THE SALES STICKER OR THE OWNERS MANUAL, WHICH ONLY STATES RECOMMENDS 89 OCTANE, NOT REQUIRED. TOLD TO DISABLE THE ECO SYSTEM TO ONLY RUN ON 8 CYLINDERS, WHICH IS NOT WHY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED IT FOR POWER, AS WELL AS FUEL ECONOMY ON THE HIGHWAY. SO THIS LAST TIME I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE SERVICE MANAGER DISCONNECTED THE MDS SENSOR AND DROVE THE VEHICLE, VEHICLE PERFORMED FINE, RECONNECT THE MDS SENSOR AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS LOCKING UP, ONCE AGAIN A CHARACTERISTIC PER CHRYSLER TECHS AND ENGINEERING. SO, WHICH LIE IS THE LIE AND WHICH LIE THE IS THE LIE. LIED TO CONTINUOUSLY, HAVE NOT HAD CALLS RETURNED FROM DEALERSHIP TO KNOW WHAT THE STATUS IS OF MY VEHICLE, PLUS HAVE CONTINUOUSLY BEEN BLOWN OFF BY CHRYSLER CARES GROUP IN DETROIT WITH MY CURRENT CASE FILED WITH CHRYSLER, JUST TONIGHT ON 29 AUGUST 2014, IT TOOK ME 8 TIMES TO CONTACT MY CASE MANAGERS BECAUSE I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED TWO DAYS AGO, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN BUSY. LOAD OF CRAP, CHRYSLER DOES NOT CARE!! MONTHS AGO WE RECEIVED A RECALL REGARDING THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY (SEEING AS PROPERLY FUNCTIONING BRAKES ARE IMPORTANT) AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WEREN'T IN. MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE STILL HEARD NOTHING. *TR
I HAVE BROUGHT IN THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DODGE SERVICE CENTER IN NAPLES BECAUSE THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD GO OFF WHEN THE WIPERS ARE IN USE. ALL OF THE LIGHTS INCLUDING THE TIME / RADIO STATION BECOME DIM. ON DECEMBER 26TH ALTHOUGH THE LIGHTS ARE SET ON AUTOMATIC, THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON AT NIGHT. WE MANUALLY HAD TO SWITCH SO THAT WE WOULD HAVE LIGHTS. WE HAVE ALSO ON TWO-THREE OCCASIONS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND/OR ACCELARATOR. THE RPM ON THE CAR WHERE VERY HIGH AND THE CAR WAS BASICALLY NOT GOING OVER 35-40 MPH. ONCE PARKED AND THEN PUT IN DRIVE AGAIN IT WORKED OK UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT DID IT. THE LOCAL DODGE SERVICE CENTER CLAIM THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND INITIALLY BLAMED THE LIGHT ISSUE ON A SUNPASS BECAUSE THEY SAW THE SUCTION CUP MARKS. HOWEVER THE SUNPASS IS NOT ALWAYS IN THIS VEHICLE AND THE TIMES THAT LIGHTS HAVE DIMMED THE SUNPASS HAS NOT BEEN ON.
TRANSMISSION HESITATES OR "STUTTERS" WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND FREEZES GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. WAS TOLD THERE WAS A "FLASH UPDATE" AVAILABLE AND COMPLETED. HAVE TAKEN DURANGO BACK TO SAME DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE 11/23/13, 06/10/14, AND HAD AN APPOINTMENT ON FRIDAY, 07/12/14 BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE MY INFORMATION/APPOINTMENT DOWN ON PAPER THEN CALL TO RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT. IT IS NOW 08/05/14, AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE RETURN PHONE CALL. THE ENGINE WILL SURGE TO A HIGH RPM WHILE I AM COASTING AT A SET SPEED (USUALLY BETWEEN 20-45 MPH). ON THE VISIT DATE OF 06/10/14, SERVICE REPAIR SHOWS TWO FLASH UPDATES (SOFTWARE 1 & SOFTWARE 2) WERE COMPLETED. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION FROM DODGE CONCERNING THE "FLASH UPDATES" THAT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS ARE NECESSARY TO THE VEHICLE RUNNING PROPERLY. *TR
IN MARCH OF 2013 I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW DODGE DURANGO AND I'VE HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT. WHEN I'M DRIVING IN THE EVENING THE REFLECTION OF OTHER HEADLIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND STREETLIGHTS CAUSE A SHADOW SO THAT I HAVE DOUBLE VISION OF THOSE IMAGES THROUGH MY WINDSHIELD. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR TEST DRIVES AND INSPECTIONS THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD. THE NEW WINDSHIELD IS JUST AS BAD, WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN THEY SAID THIS IS HOW ALL THE DURANGO WINDSHIELDS LOOK AND THEY EVEN TOOK ME FOR A TEST DRIVE IN A NEW 2014 DURANGO TO SHOW ME THAT THIS WAS HOW THEY ALL LOOK. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE THE VISIBILITY IS HORRIBLE AND I FEEL THE WINDSHIELD IS HURTING MY EYES. IF THEY CANNOT FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM I WOULD LIKE TO RETURN THE CAR. *TR
STARTING AT 9,800 MILES (8.27.2013), THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND LATER GO OFF. A CHRYSLER DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE OIL AND FILTER HAVE BEEN CHANGED AT JIFFY LUBE AND AT CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS. THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR AFTER OIL CHANGES AT BOTH LOCATIONS. THE ENGINE IS 3.6L. THE LIGHT COMES ON IN MOTION AND STATIONARY POSITIONS. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 48,000. SOMETIMES WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION OCCURS. OTHERWISE, THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD.
WE PURCHASED OUR VEHICLE ON 5/31/13. LESS THAN THREE MONTHS LATER, THE FIRST SET OF REAR SHOCKS WERE ORDERED FOR REPLACEMENT. WE HAVE NOW OWNED THE VEHICLE JUST OVER 2 YEARS AND WILL BE HAVING THE SHOCKS REPLACED FOR THE FOURTH TIME. NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP HAS EVER EXPLAINED WHY WE HAVE SUCH ISSUES, AND WHEN I CALLED THIS MOST RECENT TIME, THE SERVICE DEPT SAID "MAYBE WE AREN'T USING THE RIGHT ONES". WE ARE REACHING THE END OF OUR WARRANTY PERIOD AND DON'T WANT TO BEGIN HAVING TO REPLACE PARTS, THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED AN AVERAGE OF EVERY 6 MONTHS, AT OUR OWN EXPENSE. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, AND WE HAVE YET TO GET THE WORK DONE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO DO THE WORK. WE'VE EXPERIENCED COUNTLESS TIMES OF "SLUGGISH" PERFORMANCE WHEN DRIVING AT 30 OR LESS MPH, WHICH WE ASSUME IS RELATED TO THIS RECALL. OF COURSE, WE'VE ALREADY HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER SHIELD RECALL WORK PERFORMED, BUT WE NEVER DREAMED THERE WOULD BE TWO RECALLS IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS, NOT TO MENTION ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THE SHOCKS. WITH ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS, WE FEEL OUR SAFETY, AND THAT OF OTHER PASSENGERS, IS AT RISK AND HAVE BECOME MORE AND MORE CONCERNED AS WE PUT MORE MILES ON THE CAR.
PURCHASED A 2013 DODGE DURANGO AND THE WINDSHIELD HAS SUCTION CUP CIRCLES ALL OVER IT. THE CIRCLES OBSTRUCT MY VIEW IN SUNLIGHT, DURING NIGHT DRIVING, DURING THE RAIN ETC.....THE WINDSHIELD IS COVERED. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING ON I-35 NORTH IN IOWA - RAIN WAS JUST STARTING - NO OTHER VEHICLES NEARBY, NO BIRDS, OVERPASSES, ETC - THE SUNROOF EXPLODED INTO A THOUSAND TINY PIECES. LUCKILY, THE SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED AS IT KEPT ALL THE GLASS FROM FALLING INTO THE CAR. THERE APPEARS TO BE NO SIMPLE EXPLANATION WHY THIS HAPPENED. THE SERVICE MECHANIC AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP SAID IT APPEARED TO BE FAULTY GLASS ALTHOUGH DODGE WILL NOT ACCEPT A CLAIM UNDER MY WARRANTY. *TR
SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNING THE DURANGO I HAVE HAD A BAD VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL, LARRY H MILLER DODGE IN AVONDALE TOLD ME I HAD BAD TIRES SO I REPLACED THE TIRES (@450 MILES) THEN THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD BAD WHEELS SO I REPLACED THEM WITH NEW TIRES AND WHEELS. I STILL HAVE THE VIBRATION AND MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER OVER 7 TIMES NOW. TODAY LHMD SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THEY TOOK WHEELS OFF OF A NEW DURANGO ON THE LOT AND THE VIBRATION WAS WORSE, THEY WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT "ALL DURANGO'S HAVE THIS VIBRATION" . THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE IF VIBRATION GETS WORSE (OR IF DEFECTIVE PART THAT IS CAUSING VIBRATION FAILS). I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I SHOULD GO FROM HERE. *TR
ON APRIL 2013 WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2013 DODGE DURANGO RS. TWO MONTHS LATER, IN JUNE, WE TOOK A TRIP, THE CAR OVERHEATED ON THE HIGHWAY. WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE CAR SHUT DOWN- WE GOT IT TOWED TO THE CLOSEST SERVICE STATION. DODGE DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF OVERHEATING WAS DUE TO A BROKEN HEATER HOSE. ON MARCH 2014 WE TOOK ANOTHER TRIP, TWO HOURS INTO OUR TRIP IT OVERHEATED AGAIN, WE LET IT COOL DOWN AND DROVE IT TO THE NEAREST SERVICE STATION. THE CAR WAS SERVICED FOR TWO DAYS, DODGE DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF OVERHEATING WAS DUE TO THERMOSTAT AND SENSOR MALFUNCTION. A WEEK LATER- MARCH 22, WE TOOK IT BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. DODGE DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF OVERHEATING WAS DUE TO AIR PRESSURE IN THE ENGINE. FOUR WEEKS LATER, APRIL 21, WE TOOK IT YET AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, WHICH BRINGS ME TO TODAY. AS A RESULT OF THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM WE HAVE BEEN SPENDING A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF ENERGY, TIME AND MONEY (HOTELS, RENTALS, ECT). THIS ISSUE HAS RUINED MY VACATION, HAS CAUSED ME TO MISS WORK AND MEET DEADLINES. WHEN WE HAD OUR FIRST INCIDENT, I DECIDED TO CALL IT A FLUKE. I SAID, THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE, I DECIDED TO FORGET IT AND MOVE ON. WHEN IT RUINED MY VACATION YET A SECOND TIME AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AFTER MULTIPLE SERVICES, WE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS CAR WAS UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR THAT I KEEP THIS CAR AND RISK THE CHANCE OF THIS VEHICLE HAVING SOME INTERNAL DAMAGE THAT WILL AFFECT MY FAMILY IN THE FUTURE. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT OF MY LOAN BUT SIMPLY WOULD LIKE FOR DODGE TO PUT ME IN A NEW VEHICLE. I CURRENTLY HAVE A CLAIM WITH DODGE AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE I BEEN GETTING THE ATTENTION I DESERVE. VEHICLE STALLS AND THEN POWER GOES OFF WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON OCCASION. VEHICLE WILL NOT START ON FIRST TRY. MULTIPLE TRIES ARE NECESSARY BEFORE VEHICLE STARTS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME. DATE ON "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" IS APPROXIMATE AS IT HAPPENS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME ABNORMALLY HARD TO DEPRESS AND PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM BEING STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS MODULE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
THE DASH INDICATOR FOR THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BEGAN FLASHING RAPIDLY. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. SINCE MY DEALER IS OVER 50 MILES AWAY I WAS ABLE TO EASILY REMOVE THE TAIL LIGHT AND REPLACE THE BULB. SINCE THAT INCIDENT I HAVE REPLACED 3 MORE BULBS. TODAY'S REPLACEMENT MADE ME INVESTIGATE MORE CLOSELY AND FOUND THAT THE BULB WAS OK BUT IT HAD TILTED SLIGHTLY. MANUALLY MOVING THE BULB CAUSED THE BULB TO FUNCTION AGAIN. IS THE SOCKET FAULTY? THE RIGHT SIGNAL HAS NEVER STOPPED WORKING. *TR
ON START, THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO 4000 RPM AND STAYED THERE. IT TOOK SEVERAL TAPS ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GET THE ENGINE TO RETURN TO NORMAL IDLE SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES SINCE. RANDOM - DIFFERENT TIMES OF DAY AND TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BRAKES AND DASHBOARD LIGHT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER SIX MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED PERIODICALLY. THE DEALER PURGED THE SYSTEM ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE INVOICE AND THE FAULTY LIGHTS DID NOT ILLUMINATE AGAIN. THEN, INTERMITTENTLY THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE VEHICLE FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS GOING TO ACCELERATE OR EVEN DROP DOWN IN GEAR. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES AND SERVICE BRAKE HYDRAULIC). HOWEVER, SHE WAS INFORMED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER THEN CALLED OTHER DEALERS WITHIN A 100 MILE RADIUS AND FOUND A DEALER WHO ORDERED THE PART ON 06/17/2014 AND INSTALLED IT ON 07/02/14. IN OCTOBER 2014, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS GOING DOWN IN GEAR ON ITS OWN. TWO MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 14V634000 REGARDING THE ALTERNATOR. HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS WAITING ON THE PARTS, SHE CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, UNTIL ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED. *JB

HAD HORRIBLE SMELL COMING FROM COOLING SYSTEM. TOOK IN NUMEROUS TIMES TO DEALERSHIP TO TRY AND FIX. FINALLY STUMPED THE DEALERSHIP ASKED STAR AT CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS. THEY IMMEDIATELY KNEW THE ISSUE AND GAVE MECHANICS STEPS TO FIX. TURNS OUT THE NEW "GREEN FRIENDLY" ENGINE COOLANT THEY ARE USING ON THE NEW DURANGOS WAS NEVER TESTED. THE COOLANT WAS INTERACTING WITH ANYTHING RUBBER IT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH AND WAS BREAKING DOWN THE RUBBER. STAR TOLD THEM TO REPLACE EVERY PIECE OF RUBBER THE COOLANT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH. IT IS NOW MIDDLE OF AUGUST AND THE SMELL IS STILL PRESENT AND TO DATE CHRYSLER HAS NOT ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL ON THE COOLANT OR HOSES. WE HAVE SUBMITTED PAPER WORK FOR THE LEMON LAW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED UPON USING THE PUSH BUTTON START ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE. IT WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT A THREE STEP PROCESS NEEDED TO BE COMPLETED TO ENSURE THE VEHICLE STARTED AND IT STILL STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER FROM THE FIRST REPAIR. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXHIBIT AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
WHEN STOPPING THERE IS A CLUNK IN FRONT BRAKES OR SUSPENSION. THE CLUNK CAN BE FELT IN THE FLOOR, STEERING COLUMN AND BRAKE PEDAL. DEALER REPLACED FRONT PADS AND ROTORS, PROBLEM NOT FIXED. *TR
1. OWNED CAR SINCE JAN 2013. LEATHER STARTED CRACKING IMMEDIATELY. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I HAD TO GET FIXED. WENT BACK TO SHOP FOR SOMETHING ELSE AND MENTIONED THE CRACKING AGAIN AND WAS TOLD I COULD HAVE GOTTEN FIXED BUT MY COVERAGE HAD EXPIRED. THE CRACKING IS REALLY BAD ON THE ARMREST IN CAR. HAVE BEEN OVER TO DEALERSHIP AND CALLED REGARDING THE RECALL I HAVE. IT IS ALWAYS ON BACKORDER AND SOMEONE WILL CALL WHEN IN. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL AND I SEE THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL. IS THIS REALLY IMPORTANT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT THESE RECALLS GETS REPAIRED. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY AS WELL AS MY CRACKING LEATHER WHICH HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AT NIGHT, THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE PASSENGER SIDE TURN SIGNAL AND THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER, TURNED OFF THE TURN SIGNAL AND VEHICLE, AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. ONCE RESTARTED, THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTING RESUMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
MANUFACTURE FOG LAMPS WITH 24WATT LIGHT BULB, CREATING ILLUSION THE REGULAR HEADLAMP TOO BRIGHT SELECTION. FOG LAMP BULBS ARE USUALLY 45 TO 55WATTS. OFFROAD 65 TO 110WATTS PLUS. IN OTHER WORDS THE 24 WATT SHOULD BE MAYBE 42 WATTS. THANKS. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION P14/NHTSA 14V-154 I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP VIGO DODGE IN TERRE HAUTE, IN THEY TOLD ME THE PART WASN'T IN AND TO CALL BACK IN TWO WEEKS. I CALLED BACK, THE PARTS STILL WEREN'T IN AND THEY PUT ME ON THE CALL LIST AND TOLD ME I WAS NOW #8 ON THE LIST. THIS HAS BEEN APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS SINCE NOTIFICATION.
