VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF PARK ON BOAT LAUNCH, TOTALLY SUBMERGING VEHICLE FOR A TOTAL LOSS.
WATER ENTERED THE TAIL LIGHT(NOT THROUGH ANY CRACKING BUT THROUGH THE SEALS ON THE SIDES OF IT) AND CAUSED PORTIONS OF THE LIGHT TO BURN OUT. ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER THIS THE TAIL LIGHT WAS CRACKED BUT CAUSED NO MORE WATER THAN USUAL TO GET IN. THE CRACK WAS COMPLETELY REPAIRED AND WATER STILL COMES INTO THE TAIL LIGHT THROUGH THE SEAL ON THE SIDES OF IT IF IT IS PARKED OUTSIDE IN HEAVY RAIN. IT IS EMBARRASSING AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHEN PORTIONS OF THE LIGHT DO NOT WORK. WE NOTICED THIS ABOUT 7 MONTHS AFTER THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WHEN IT WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT DURING HEAVY RAIN. DURING LIGHT SHOWERS, IT DOES NOT DO THIS OR WHEN DRIVING BUT IF THE VEHICLE SITS IN RAIN FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WATER STARTS TO BUILD UP INSIDE PRESENTING THE NEED TO REMOVE A BOLT AND DRAIN THE LIGHT(WHICH WE DO). THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN WASHING THE VEHICLE. YOU CAN SPRAY RIGHT WHERE IT WAS CRACKED AND NO WATER GETS IN BUT IF YOU SPRAY AROUND THE SIDES OF THE LIGHT WATER STARTS ENTERING. REAR RACE TRACK LIGHTING TAKING ON WATER WHEN IT RAINS.ED LIGHTS HAVE SHORTER OUT. HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS EXPOSED TO WET AND RAINY CONDITIONS OR CARWASH
REAR LIGHT BAR GOT WATER IN IT AT 30,000 MILES DEALER REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. REAR LIGHT BAR NOW ELECTRICAL SHORTED OUT FROM WATER
CAR WON'T START, CAR STALLS AND ENGINES SUDDEN SHUT OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER SUSTAINED NECK AND HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,351.
WHILE DRIVING THE ALERT CHIME INDICATED THAT THE KEY FOB WAS NOT IN RANGE. THEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE KEY FOB WAS IN THE CUP HOLDER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE DRIVE POSITION. I HAD TO STOP. PUT VEHICLE IN PARK, RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THEN PUT IN DRIVE AND CONTINUE DRIVING. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ENGINE MISFIRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. AS A RESULT, SMOKE STARTED TO EMIT FROM THE DASHBOARD. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND ALL FIVE PASSENGERS SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD, BUT IT WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM ACTIVATED UPON EXITING VEHICLE AND KEY FOB BECAME DESENSED DUE TO RF INTERFERENCE IN AREA. DASH DISPLAY INDICATED THAT "KEY FOB NOT RECOGNIZED". CAR HAS KEYLESS START BUTTON AND COULD NOT BE STARTED. ALL FUNCTIONS ON KEY FOB WERE NOT OPERATIONAL. ROADSIDE TOWING ASSISTANCE HAD TO BE REQUESTED.

THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SUDDENLY BECAME UNSTUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,111.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT CALLED JIM COGDILL DODGE AT 856-690-1611 AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V643000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
BACKED CAR OUT OF GARAGE, PUT IN PARK ON INCLINED DRIVEWAY TO RETRIEVE A FORGOTTEN ITEM FROM HOUSE. WAS GONE FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE. UPON RETURNING CAR WAS ACROSS THE CUL DE SAC IN THE NEIGHBORS FRONT YARD. WENT TO NEIGHBORS YARD TO RETRIEVE CAR AND LOOK FOR DAMAGE. CAR WAS STILL IN PARK AS THE DIAL TRANSMISSION WAS ILLUMINATED TO P, BUT CAR WAS NO LONGER RUNNING BUT LIGHTS AND RADIO WERE STILL ON. CLEANED DIRT AND GRASS OUT OF TAIL PIPE AS IT HAD CRASHED THRU NEIGHBORS DITCH. STARTED CAR AND DROVE BACK TO HOUSE, TURNED OFF ENGINE AND PUT ON EMERGENCY BREAK, CALLED HUSBAND OUT OF THE HOUSE TO LOOK UNDERNEATH FOR DAMAGE. FRONT END DAMAGE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND ALSO REAR BUMPER DAMAGE. CALLED DODGE AND FILED CLAIM. CAR WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER WHO CALLED DODGE AND WERE ADVISED TO CHECK FOR ANY GUNK OR DEBRI IN THE OIL PAN, NONE FOUND SO THEY WERE ADVISED TO DROP THE TRANSMISSION AND CHECK THE COMPONENTS, WHICH RESULTED IN THE DISCOVERY OF A DEFECTIVE VALVE BODY. PART WAS REPLACED AND DAMAGED SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. LESS THAN TWO MONTHS LATER, TRANSMISSION IS SLAMMING FROM 2ND GEAR TO 3RD GEAR AND LARGE CLUNK HEARD WHEN TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 2ND GEAR TO FIRST GEAR, CALLED DODGE AND FILE ANOTHER CLAIM AND TAKING BACK TO DEALER. I HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT UNATTENDED VEHICLE ROLL AWAYS FOR DODGE AND JEEP USING THE SAME NEW DIAL TRANSMISSION RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE AND MINOR INJURIES. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE MAY BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IF THIS IS NOT ADDRESSED BY DODGE. I DO ALSO HAVE THIS ALL ON VIDEO AS WE HAVE AN OUTDOOR SECURITY SYSTEM THAT I AM WILL TO SEND TO ANYONE WHO IS TRYING TO DISPUTE THIS SAME SAFETY ISSUE WITH DODGE. IT IS EVEN TIMED SECOND BY SECOND IN THE FOOTAGE AND YOU CAN SEE EVERY DOOR IN MY CAR TO PROVE THAT NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
1) WHEN TURNING ON VENTILATION SEATS - DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BLOW HOT AIR INSTEAD OF COOL AIR. CAUSED A MILD BURN FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER. IN SERVICE - WIRING DEFECT. 2) TAILLIGHTS (LED) STOPPED WORKING WHEN DRIVING AND BRAKING. ONLY TURN ON WHEN IN PARK. IN SERVICE. 3) SUNROOF STOPPED WORKING TWICE. HAD TO TURN CAR IN FOR SERVICE 2 TIMES. FIRST TIME WORKED WITH A REPLACED PART. WAITED OVER 2 WEEKS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. THEN 2 WEEKS LATER, IT BROKE. IN SERVICE - WIRING DEFECT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED WERE UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TRUCK JERKED, THEN LOST ALL POWER EVEN THOUGH IT WAS STILL RUNNING. WAS LOCKED INTO DRIVE YET WOULD GO NO WHERE. NO POWER STEERING, NO BRAKES TO SPEAK OF, LIGHTS FLASHING IN THE DASH SAYING THE BATTERY NEEDED CHARGING, PLUS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING ALONG WITH THE D FOR DRIVE. THERE WAS AN ALTENATOR RECALL IN NOV. IT TOOK UNTIL APRIL BEFORE THEY HAD THE NEW PARTS TO PUT IN, AND WE TOOK IT IN TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAPPENED AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED. I DON'T THINK THEY ACTUALLY DID A REPLACEMENT OR ELSE THE NEW ONES ARE JUST AS BAD AS THE OLD ONES, AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM
THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IN A PARKING SPACE AND RUNNING WITH MY DAUGHTER, MOTHER-IN-LAW, AND FATHER-IN-LAW SITTING IN THE BACKSEAT. I REACHED IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE AND PRESSED THE IGNITION TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE IGNORED MY COMMAND, THE DASH BEGAN FLASHING, AND THE CAR ENGAGED IN DRIVE AND TOOK OFF DRIVING ACROSS THE PARKING GARAGE. I HAD TO SPRINT AROUND THE VEHICLE AND JUMP IN TO THE DRIVERS SEAT TO ENGAGE THE BRAKE AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF BEFORE IT COLLIDED WITH OTHER VEHICLES IN THE GARAGE.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT A BOAT LAUNCH IN PREPARATION OF PUTTING BOAT ON TRAILER. CAR WAS IN PARK, ENGINE IDLING. GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO RETRIEVE BOAT WHILE PARTNER WOULD DRIVE THE CAR OUT AFTER BOAT WAS TRAILERED. WHILE PARTNER WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL, CAR SUDDENLY STARTED BACKING INTO THE LAKE UNTIL SUBMERGED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN PARK UNTIL TOW TRUCK OPERATOR GOT INTO THE VEHICLE TO MANUALLY RELEASE TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO TOW OUT. PROBABLY NOT REPAIRABLE.
THIS IS A COMPLAINT CONCERNING THE LENGTH OF TIME IT HAS TAKEN SO FAR TO GET THE ALTERNATOR RECALL (NHTSA 14V-634 REPAIRED BY OUR DEALERSHIP, BREWBAKER MOTORS IN MONTGOMERY, AL. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE SHORTLY AFTER THE 1ST OF THE YEAR. WE WERE TOLD FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. I CALLED AGAIN IN MAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE GETTING BOTH PARTS IN IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE PARTS MANAGER DID CALL ME AROUND THE 1ST WEEK IN JUNE TO SET THE APPOINTMENT. WE HAD 2 RECALLED PARTS, AIRBAG AND THE ALTERNATOR. WE TOOK THE CAR IN, LEFT IT OVERNIGHT, PICKED IT UP THE NEXT DAY AND ONLY THE AIRBAG PART HAD BEEN REPLACED. WHEN QUESTIONED THEY SAID THE ALTERNATOR PART WAS NOT IN (AFTER THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID BOTH PARTS WERE IN), AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY WERE IN. AFTER NOT HEARING FROM THEM I CALLED ON 07/23/2015 AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS IN BUT IT WOULD BE THE END OF AUGUST BEFORE THEY COULD GET TO THE REPAIR OF MY CAR. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR A REPAIR THAT COULD POTENTIALLY SHUT DOWN MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING, OR START AN ELECTRICAL FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
THE CAR IS MAKING AN ANNOYING "WHINING NOISE/HUM" WHEN DRIVING. AS THE SPEED INCREASES SO DOES THE NOISE. I HAVE HAD THE 2014 DURANGO CITADEL (V6) 2 YEARS AND HAVE APPROXIMATELY 16,000 MILES ON IT. I STARTED TO NOTICE THE NOISE AROUND 12,000 MILES. THE TIRES ARE INFLATED AT THE RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE AND HAVE BEEN RECENTLY ROTATED. THIS HAS HAD NO EFFECT ON THE LEVEL OF NOISE. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER OWNER OF THE DODGE 2014 DURANGO CITADEL AND HE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. HE MENTIONED THAT ON A RECENT SERVICE AT THE DODGE DEALER THEY ASKED HIM IF HE WAS EXPERIENCING ANY NOISE IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. I WILL BE FOLLOWING UP WITH MY DEALER TOMORROW.
THE GPS SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE PROVIDES INACCURATE INFORMATION THAT MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS EASILY. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THIS ISSUE, I WAS USING THE VEHICLE GPS AND IT ASKED ME TO TURN RIGHT WHEN I TURNED, THE WAS NO ROAD SO I NEARLY HIT THE CURB. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER BEING TO TEXAS BEFORE, MY VEHICLE HAS RESISTED LOCATIONS IN TEXAS AND OTHER LOCATION THAT MAKES THIS ISSUE OUTRAGEOUS. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL REPORT OF THIS ONLINE WITH DODGE AND JEEP BUT FCA SEEMS NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AS THEIR ANALYST DID NOT HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. THE GPS INFORMATION PROVIDED ON MY VEHICLE IS TOTALLY WRONG AND FOR THAT MATTER I HAVE STOPPED USING IT. I CALLED DODGE ONCE AND THEY TRIED TO RESET THE GPS WHICH DID NOT WORK AND SO THEY ADVICE ME TO GO TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED BUT THE CLOSEST DEALER TO ME TOLD ME THAT THEY CANNOT LOOK AT IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM THEM. ONE OTHER THING IS THAT THE ISSUE AFFECTS THE TIME ON THE VEHICLES MAKING THE TIME LITERALLY GO BACK SOMETIMES. ONCE, I OBSERVED THE CLOCK MOVE BACK FROM 12:05PM TO 11:49AM. AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS ONLINE, IT WAS REALIZED THAT THE ISSUE WAS WITH THE UCONNECT SYSTEM MEANING THAT THE ISSUE IS AFFECTING ALL OR SOME VEHICLES FROM FIAT CHRYSLER OF AMERICA. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS BECAUSE THIS CAN EASILY COST SOMEONE THEIR LIFE FOR A GPS TO ASSUME WRONG LOCATION. THIS ISSUES IS AN ONGOING ISSUE SO I JUST PLACED A DATE IN THE WHEN IT HAPPENED FIELD.
I STARTED MY DODGE DURANGO WITH REMOTE START TO COOL THE CAR DOWN BEFORE MY FAMILY GOT IN THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE, SISTER-IN-LAW, AND BOYS GOT IN THE VEHICLE AS I WALKED TOWARDS THE DRIVER SIDE. MY WIFE REACHED OVER FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TO START THE VEHICLE AND TURN ON ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. ONCE THE START BUTTON WAS PRESSED THE VEHICLE DISENGAGED FROM PARK AND STARTED MOVING IN REVERSE REACHING APPROXIMATELY 20MPH UNTIL MY WIFE JUMPED ON TO THE DRIVER SEAT AND WAS ABLE TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE SHIFT WAS IN THE PARK POSITION SO ALL SHE COULD DO WAS TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY, THERE WAS NO INJURY DONE TO MY FAMILY OR PEDESTRIANS. MY DURANGO DID HIT TWO PARKED VEHICLES THAT MY INSURANCE PAID TO REPAIR. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO FILE A COMPLAINT THAT SAME DAY AND THEY REQUESTED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR INVESTIGATION. A MONTH AFTER THE INCIDENT I RECEIVE A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER STATING THAT NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WAS FOUND AND THE VEHICLES OPERATION MEETS CHRYSLER STANDARDS.
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, THE FIRST TIME WAS A MONTH OR SO AGO BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN LAST WEEK AND THE WOUND WAS MUCH WORSE. THE EXPOSED EDGE OF THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR BRAKE LIGHT ARE EXTREMELY SHARP AND EXPOSED ANYTIME THE REAR HATCH IS OPEN/UP. I THOUGHT ABOUT MAKING A VIDEO SHOWING HOW IT COULD PEAL AND APPLE OR WATERMELON SKIN. MY RIGHT ARM HAS A SHORT 3/4" SCRAP (1ST) AND NOW AN ALMOST 3" LONG SCRAP THAT IS TAKING ITS TIME TO HEAL. IF YOUR SKIN TOUCHES THOSE EDGES AND HAS ANY AMOUNT OF FORCE IT WILL SCRAPE THE SKIN. THIS HAPPENS DURING UNLOADING IF A PACKAGE SHIFTS WHILE UNLOADING. *TR
ROLLAWAY ACCIDENT. IN 2015 I HAD AN ACCIDENT WHERE MY VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS PLACED ON. I CONTACTED FODGE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT ALTHIUGH THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHY MAY HAVE BEEN ON THAT IF THE BRAKE WAS NOT DEPRESSED.COMPLETELY TO THE GROUND THE BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED.

I BACKED THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE ONTO THE DRIVEWAY, THEN PUT IT IN PARK. I LEFT THE ENGINE RUNNING AND EXITED THE VEHICLE TO WALK IN THE GARAGE. I WAS ALREADY IN THE GARAGE AND TURNED BACK TO SEE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING FORWARD. I TRIED TO GET BACK IN TO STOP THE CAR AND WAS TRAPPED BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE CAR. UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, IT CONTINUED FORWARD, SWIPING THE CENTER GARAGE BEAM AND CRUSHING ME. UPDATED 03/21/17*LJ *TR
DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 35 MPH, CRUISE HOLDS NORMAL ON FLAT OR UPHILL DRIVING, HOWEVER WHEN GOING DOWN HILL THE ENGINE IDLES DOWN TO AN IDLE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO OVERDRIVE. WHEN THIS HAPPEN THE TORQUE CONVERTER IN THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO "FREE WHEEL COAST" DOWN HILL. ON A HILL WITH A GRADE OF 3 TO 4 PERCENT THE VEHICLE REACHED A SPEED OF 55+ MPH IN LESS THAN 1/4 MILE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE ONLY WAY TO CONTROL THE SPEED ON A DOWN HILL SITUATION WHEN THE SPEED IS SET IS TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND DISENGAGE THE CRUISE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT OEM LIGHT FIXTURES BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION. THE DEALER INSTALLED AFTERMARKET HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES, WHICH FAILED TO ATTACH PROPERLY TO THE VEHICLE'S BUMPER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO WORK WITH THE DEALER. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PROPERLY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AFTER A YEAR OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THE REAR HATCH BREAK LIGHT WAS COLLECTING WATER. THIS LARGE CLUSTER CRACKED DOWN THE VERY CENTER ALMOST AS IF THE WEIGHT OF THE TWO ENDS WAS NOT SUPPORTING PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE CENTER. ONCE IT FILLS WITH WATER ALL THE LIGHTS THAT ARE SUBMERGED IN WATER BURN OUT.
THE TAIL LIGHTS (COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE 'RACE TRACK TAIL LIGHTS) MOUNTED ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE REAR HATCH CONSTANTLY FILL UP WITH WATER WHICH IS BURNING OUT THE LIGHTS. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES. THIS PART SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THIS HAPPENS ANY TIME IT RAINS AND IN THE SEATTLE AREA THAT IS VERY FREQUENT.
VEHICLE ON BOARD CONTROL PANEL CONSTANTLY MALFUNCTIONS, WITH THE SCREEN GOING BLACK AFTER IGNITION. SYSTEM WILL REMAIN INACCESSIBLE FOR PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME AND WILL INCREASE AIR TEMP TO 75 DEGREES, WITH NO WAY TO STOP OR CHANGE AIR OUTPUT. ON BOARD/UCONNECT CONNECTIVITY CONTINUOUSLY LOST WITH NO PHONE/COMMUNICATION ACCESS AVAILABLE (I.E., CENTER LIGHT ON REAR VIEW WILL BE RED MOST TIMES). HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE DODGE DEALERSHIPS FOR REPAIR, BUT REPAIR SHOPS CLAIM TO BE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGAN AFTER FIRST SYSTEM UPDATE.
DROVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT ON FRIDAY. ON MONDAY ON MY WAY TO THE SUPERMARKET THE TRUCK LOST POWER STARTED SHAKING AND A BURNING SMELL FILLED THE CABIN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. SERVICE SAID IT WAS A FAULTY BATTERY AND CHANGED IT. ON WEDNESDAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED RETURNED TO THE DEALER. TRUCK WAS KEPT FOR TWO DAYS. SERVICE COULD NOT RE-CREATE THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE SYSTEM WAS RESET AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. *TR
MY CAR WAS IN PARK IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY CHILDREN'S DAYCARE CENTER. I SPILLED TEA IN THE CUP HOLDER, WHICH CAUSED THE GEAR SHIFTER TO SHORT OUT AND DISABLE MY VEHICLE. WORKING FOR AN ELECTRONICS SUPPLIER, I'VE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP DRIVING IF LIQUID WERE TO SHORT THIS CIRCUIT OUT WHILE DRIVING. CHRYSLER IS STATING THAT THIS IS NOT THEIR ISSUE, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE, AS IT IS A DESIGN ISSUE. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE COVERED UNDER A 24 MONTH WARRANTY. THE ISSUE RECURRED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT PERMISSION FROM THE MANUFACTURER WAS NEEDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO REPLACE THE TAILLIGHT A SEVENTH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
FIRST INCIDENT WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF DRIVEWAY. FELT LIKE BRAKES STAYED APPLIED AND WOULD NOT MOVE, AND HAD TO BE FORCED. SECOND INCIDENT WAS THE NEXT MORNING THE BRAKE PEDDLE WOULD NOT DEPRESS CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKES, AND GOING RIGHT THROUGH A STOP SIGN. THIRD INCIDENT WAS ON THE WAY TO DEALER. STOPPED AT A LIGHT TWO MILES FROM DEALER AND BRAKES STAYED COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I HAD TO REV THE MOTOR TO BE ABLE TO PULL OFF INTO A PARKING LOT. CALLED FOR A TOW, HAD AN HOUR AND A HALF WAIT TO GO A MILE UP THE ROAD. FINALLY, AFTER SITTING FOR AN HOUR, THE BRAKES RELEASED AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT TO DEALER. DURING THIS INCIDENT THE PARK LOCK OUT DID NOT WORK AND THE PEDDLE HAD NO DOWNWARD MOVEMENT. HOWEVER, THE DEALER COULD NOT RECREATE ANY OF THE COMPLAINTS LEADING THEM TO TRY AND SEND US HOME IN IT. I REFUSED AND INSISTED MORE BE DONE TO DIAGNOSE DUE TO THE UNSAFE POSSIBILITIES. *TR

The rear "racetrack" tail light assembly fills with water and disables the lights. Also water gets in to the lights over the license plate and disables that light as well.

DROVE VEHICLE HOME AND CALLED THE 800 NUMBER FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR CHRYSLER, DODGE AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL A LOCAL CHRYSLER, DODGE DEALER FOR A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING VEHICLE IN TWO DAYS LATER FOR SERVICE. ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE POWER STEERING PUMP LEAKED FROM BEHIND THE PULLEY. WIFE WENT TO START UP VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK OVER.CALLED AAA FOR A JUMP. IT CRANK AND STARTED WITH A RATTLE CAN SOUND.I CAME HOME TO VERIFY SOUND. IT DID SUCH SOUND AS SHE EXPLAINED. THE SEALS WERE NOT SQUARE IN BORES OF INTAKE. I HAVE NOT REMOVED OIL PAN BUT I SUSPECT CONNECTING RODS BENT ON START UP. I NEED TO KNOW IF DODGE NEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
