The vent tube leading to the transmission came disconnected and sucked up water into my transmission. Leading to the transmission to not have any power. My son and I were in the the car trying to go up the hill when it lost power and started rolling backwards down the hill into traffic with the gas pedal to the floor. The mechanic at dodge said he has no idea how the vent tube was able to suck up that much water into the transmission. There was no lights that came on about the vent tube until it was too late and even then the check engine light would go on and off every time the car was turned off. The car is un drivable and currently at JT Dodge land in Columbia SC. I have notified my Insurance to see if this is something that would be covered l.

I took my car into Fairfield Dodge (Fairfield Texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell Gas as if I stepped in it. the smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. the car dealership said oh we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, oh that is it. They said it is fixed " WRONG. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me oh well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a LEMON LAW, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. While driving 70 mph on the highway, the car gave a light that stated, "power steering unavailable" and in fact, I had no power steering. I had to really muscle the car to get it to turn at all. If this had happened while I was turning a corner, it could have been the cause of an accident. Obviously driving a car with no power steering is dangerous in and of itself, not to mention it happening out of the blue while driving at highway speeds. There was no prior warning to the light coming on. This is a car with just over 40k miles on it and is a used Dodge certified car. We had to wait several weeks for an appointment at our local Dodge dealership at which time they confirmed the steering rack is defective. The part was at least 60 days out, indicating to me that this is an issue with other vehicles as well. Fast forward to last week and we were informed the part was in and we could have the car back by the end of this week. However, yesterday (5/10/2023) we received a call that the part that was delivered to the dealership was also defective. They got the part installed, but could not get the computer to recognize it. Currently we do not have a timeline on when a new, hopefully not defective, part will be delivered. We are lucky because we have MOPAR care on the vehicle and it will cover the cost of the repair and they will reimburse us for the use of the rental car, although the rental car is inadequate compared to the car that I purchased.
Coolant leak, due to water pump failure , has 61000 miles There are other older models that already have extended warranties for same issues This should apply to newer models as this issue persists
2019 dodge Durango R/T Gasket fails and allows water to get into track light and left and right rear corner light.. Dodge knows about the issues across many years but does not issue a recall or own liability to the problem which leaves customer footing the bill
2019 Dodge Durango Rear Center Liftgate Tail Light Assembly Lift Gate Back Up Light Lamp OEM#68453659AA. Water pools into the rear lights from poor gaskets and has caused my rear lights to go on and off, LED light has burned out due to the water pooling into the electrics. I have seen 100's of reports on the internet on this issue and don't understand why no recall is in place. I believe this is a severe risk to other drivers and myself, especially when driving at night, fog, or rain. I have almost been rear ended a few times and also pulled over by the police multiple times on the issue.
Racetrack lighting seems to be defective and water has entered and lighting has stopped working and has become a problem driving without it.
The interior door handle (driver side) has some kind of plastic coating on which began to peel back from the handle. It was very sharp and cut my hand.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic test, and the contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 95,420.
From my understanding, I went to several different mechanics who all said the same thing. 2019 and maybe older years, the way the truck was made, the coolant hose runs all the way from the resovoir to the back of the truck which is causing a metal pipe and the coolant hose to touch and when the metal pipe gets hot, it’s eating at the hose cause a significant leakage under the truck. And the hose is behind the vent under the truck which means pieces would need to get removed from the truck in order to get to the hose.
Water gets inside the rear tail light and the lights burn out the same with the side rear lights
Upon making slow turn I experiance a rapid unintended acceleration. Engine raced to about 4000 RPM. In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22V426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. If this incident is related to the recall Dodge needs to find a fix ASAP.+

When attempting to start and the push button is pressed, the vehicle stutters for up to 5 seconds before turning over. This is happening intermittently, but will always turn over. Vehicle has been taken to the dealership on 2 occasions (10/28/22 @ 56.5K miles and 12/09/22 @ 56.7K miles) where they were able to duplicate the start crank issue, but there isn't a code appearing to provide an area to troubleshoot. It was also communicated that the service technician researched several service bulletins and was not able to find any information on the happenings. Because there isnt a "failure" we have been told that the vehicle needs to fail in order to have this fixed. We have less than 58K miles on this vehicle. This has been happening since September 2022

Purchased my used 2019 Durango at the end of June 2022. Everything was fine, then after a month and a half the vehicle starts to act up. Had the "Service Electronic Stability Control" warning come on several times. "Stop/Start Unavailable, Service System" warning come on four or five times. Then, sitting at a stop light, the engine shut down and wouldn't turn on and a warning saying my "Hood Is Open" popped up. Put vehicle in Park. Tried again, same warning, third time was a charm it finally started. Took it to dealer, they say after a 'recall' fix is sent out, some of these problems (they say are related) will go away. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a vehicle that sits in my driveway while I drive one of my other vehicles. I can't drive a vehicle that may suddenly 'shut down' with my family in it. Vehicle only has 17, 900 miles on it too.
The service shifter light comes on, the windshield wipers come on by themselves, the cruise control wont work when the message is on. This happens on ALOT of Chrysler vehicles!! The Durango wont shift into drive when the message is on. It also happens when the durango is being driven. The message appears everytime I turn my durango on.
3 Years of a recall with no remedy by the manufacturer. Repeated inquiries with the same answer. Electronic Stability Control, Cruise Control, and Keyless Entry all disabled. Check Engine Light on continuously. Brake lights stay on for extended periods of time.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle started stalling. The contact stated that the vehicle was not accelerating as needed. The contact noticed the drive(d) indicator light was blinking and the vehicle was jerking. There was a park warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive safely to the side of the road. The contact depressed the brake pedal and shifted the gear shifter into park(P). The contact stated that on another occasion the gear shifter was shifted into reverse(R) however, transmission inadvertently shifted to neutral(N). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
I was driving down the freeway going about 70 on a trip with my 2 small kids. We were about 2.5 hours from home when the check engine light came on and was orange. Within minutes, while I was safely trying to get off of the freeway, it turned red and was blinking. I had to slow down to under 40 to get it to go back to orange while I tried to find a place to pull over and figure out what to do, creating a dangerous situation for myself and other drivers. The car only had 40,000 miles, is regularly serviced, and there were no previous issues with any of the warning lights. Took to the first repair shop and they said it was likely the coolant pipes and they have seen it in Durangos because of the way the car is assembled. They recommended that I bring it to the dealership because they didn't want to void my warranty. Dealership confirmed it was "large leak coming from back of engine. upon further inspection leak is coming from rear heater coolant pipes. replaced coolant pipes and found coolant leaks from rear heater hoses. replaced rear heater hoses" The issue with the heater hoses having to be replaced is that the car is assembled so that it has to be completely lifted and split in 2 to be able to do the work. Because of the position of the hoses, there are parts of the frame of the car that rub against those hoses and pipes creating damage and leaks, and there is no easy way to repair the damage that is caused by manufacturer positioning. The parts themselves were less than $700, but the labor charge for having to have multiple people work on taking the entire car apart to replace those parts was more than $5,000.
The contact's mother owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while his mother was driving 65 MPH, the rear spoiler detached from the vehicle. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
I'm getting a Airbag light coming on say system malfunction.
Chrysler Customer Care PO Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 June 3, 2022 Dear Customer Care, I own a 2019 Chrysler Dodge Durango Pursuit. I purchased it used last year from a Chrysler dealer in Newcastle, Maine. Today, as I was driving along the road my car completely shut off. It was totally without any power at, thankfully, only 35-40 mph. I had no brakes, no power steering, no lights, including flashers, NOTHING. I was able to get partially off the road but was in a very precarious place and had to call 911 to get a police car to come to keep from being hit by traffic. When the tow truck got there, I knew that the Neutral Engagement button needed to be pushed in to pull the car onto the flatbed and advised the driver. He proceeded to push the release button, but nothing happened until he wiggled the shift level. When he did that, the electrical came back on and the car asked for the key fob to start the car. It then started to all our amazement. There is no apparent reason for this vehicle to have lost all power and electrical when it did. This is a very, very unsafe situation. If I had been in heavy traffic and going much faster the story might have been very tragic. There is no way I would have been able to get off the highway, especially if I had to cross a lane or two. I had all I could do to steer it at 35. I am sending a copy of this letter to Consumer Reports, the NHTSA, and a local Chrysler dealer. I am hoping the dealer might have some idea of what may be happening so that I can make sure it doesn’t happen again. I think you need to find out and see what you can come up with as well. This is a serious safety problem that needs your immediate attention. Please get back to me with your findings asap. Thank you. Sincerely, [XXX] cc. Water has leaked into the center "racetrack" tail light lens on the rear of the vehicle, and pooled in the bottom portion of said lens. This has caused the LED lighting to begin burning out, causing a safety issue. The only fix is a very expensive ($1200-$1500) replacement of the entire tail light lens assembly. This is an extremely common issue among Durango owners and Dodge should be held liable for the defect, as visible and working lighting is essential for safety.
Water in the rear light seems to be a common problem in them and mine has a lot of water in.
My car has 7000 miles on it and the brake light is stuck on thanks to a faulty reading in the ABS system. This also causes the car to think someone is in the car because the brake pedal is being pressed. It is illegal to operate a car without the brake lights working properly not to mention unsafe. My car has been setting in the driveway for over 3 months and Chrysler is in no hurry to repair it. The ABS module part has a superseded part number so they obviously have addressed the faulty part. I paid a lot for a car that has become a driveway accessory. How long can they drag their feet? They are losing repeat customers.
Water collects in my racetrack light and not part of the light is out.
The tracklight on my 2019 Dodge Durango is no longer working. The whole light on the liftgate of the vehicle which is a big part of the brake warning to other vehicles. Which can very likely cause an accident at anytime since the corners of the tail light arent as visible. The vehicle has been evaluated by an independent service center and I was quoted over $1,000 to fix something that is very critical in the safety of a vehicle in my opinion. No warning from the vehicle at all the only reason it was noticed was because another driver that was behind me stopped at a gas station where I stopped and let me know my brake light was out and I was in fear the rest of the ride home that I would get pulled over and cited for something that shouldnt be my problem or responsibility to fix when its clearly a design flaw. I hope Dodge does the right thing and makes a recall on this matter since I have seen this is a very common problem and through searching on the internet I come to find out its due to water entering the light fixture and causing a shortage in the light. If Dodge doesnt do something about this I can see a lot of lawsuits coming to them due to the reason that the neglect can cause someone to get into an accident being as not everyone can afford to pay over $1,000 for repairs.
Rear tailight assembly retaining internally after rain/washing, shorting out LED light system and not illuminating
The contact owned a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while the driver was traveling at an undetermined speed a crash occurred. During the crash, the vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was destroyed but the airbags did not deploy. No further information was available. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. No injuries were reported. The local dealer was contacted regarding the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 13,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving her vehicle, she was pulled over by a police officer who informed her that neither the rear taillights nor the license plate light was illuminating as needed. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that she then had an independent mechanic inspect her vehicle and was informed that the taillights had shorted out due to rain leaking through the seals of the taillight assemblies. The contact stated she then contacted the dealer and was informed that there was a manufacturer issue and that there was no recall for the failure. The contact stated that she was informed by the dealer that repairing the vehicle would be an out-of-pocket expense. The contact stated that she was referred by the dealer to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Rear taillight assembly gets filled with water over time. LED lights fail as water rises. Some drivers report it causes the rear view camera to short out but I have not experienced this. Yet.
The rear spoiler is coming detached from the lift gate. It's a recall for 2021 durango but not for the 2019 but mine is loose and rattling horribly and I'm afraid it'll fly off and hit another vehicle
Water gets in the rear middle racetrack tailgate light and caused the partial burnout of the LED tailgate lights. This is a 2019 Dodge Durango VIN [XXX] with only 17,000 miles. This is a safety issue and from what I read online it will lead to other lighting/electrical issue in the future. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
2019 Didge Durango. Purchased used with c.22k miles on the clock. Have driven c2.5k miles and the following has happened 3 times. When accelerating the car seems to lose power momentarily and then gets stuck in third gear. Cannot shift up or down. After parking and restarting the engine the issue is resolved but the check engine light comes on. Goes off sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after 1 or 2 days
On a recent 9hr drive to home the headlights got so dim that I needed to turn on the fog lights to be able to cautiously continue the drive to home. The low voltage and low headlight output makes driving at night a very dangerous situation and can come on quickly. The voltage on the cars digital display varied between 12.2 and 12.3 volts. The halogen headlights are designed for 13.8 volts. The vehicle has been checked by two Dodge dealer and they both have stated it is within the specifications of the Dodge Star Online Publication # S2008000031 REV. A which is attached. There were no warning lights or codes displayed. Dealer # 1 said they have solved this complaint before with changing the headlight assemblies to LED headlights at a cost of $1,700 to $2,000. This was reported to Chrysler under case number 80419497 and I was told I Will Not hear back from Chrysler.
