POWER DOOR WILL NOT SHUT COMPLETELY OR OPEN WHEN BUTTON PUSHED. *TT
2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SXT WITH 3.8LITER ENGINE HAS DASH LIGHT CLUSTER FLICKER, HEADLIGHT FLICKER AND WITH EVERY DASH LIGHT LIGHTING UP AND GAUGES GOING DEAD, THEN REAPPEARING. DEALER TRIED TO SAY IT WAS BATTERY, REPLACED IT, THEN THEY SAID ALTERNATOR, REPLACED IT. AFTER RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THEY DID NOT CHECK BODY CONTROL MODULE. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM, AND NO AUTO PARTS RECYCLERS IN NORTH TEXAS CAN KEEP BCM'S IN STOCK BECAUSE OF THE DEMAND. SIGNIFICANTLY, THE DEALERS WANT TO CHARGE $300-400 FOR THE PART, THEN $100 FOR PROGRAMMING IT. MY RESEARCH ALSO INDICATES THE MANUFACTURER MAY HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND SUPERCEDED THE PART WITH AN IMPROVEMENT. THE OLD PART NUMBER 4692158AA HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH 4692158AB. I THINK THIS PART SHOULD BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE ON A RECALL AS THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE NATIONWIDE BASED ON THE WEBSITES I HAVE READ COMMENTS. FURTHER, MANY DEALERS ARE APPARENTLY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOMERS BY SELLING THEM PARTS THEY DO NOT NEED BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT TESTING THE BCM OR VOLUNTARILY CHOOSING TO FIND THE PROBLEM AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS FED THE DEALER COFFERS FOR BATTERIES AND ALTERNATORS, ETC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED IN ORDER TO GET THE DOOR LOCKS TO FUNCTION, HE WOULD DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND A FUSE MOMENTARILY IN ORDER TO GET THE COMPUTER TO RESET ITSELF. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WOULD THEN FUNCTION FOR A BRIEF PERIOD BEFORE FAILING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER INSPECTED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS STOP WORKING IN MY 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THIS MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT WITH KIDS TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE CAR AS ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR HAS A KEY ENTRY. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN BECAUSE OF THE TIME IT TAKES TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE CAR. WE RISK CAR JACKING OR INABILITY TO LEAVE THE CAR QUICKLY IF THERE WAS DANGER. THIS IS A PROBLEM WIDELY REPORTED ON THE INTERNET. YET, DODGE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM AND IS GOING TO CHARGE $100 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. *TR
RECENTLY MY POWER DOOR LOCKS QUIT ON MY 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, WHEN TRYING TO ACTIVATE IT EITHER BY MY KEY OR FROM THE DOOR PANEL. I GAVE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO FIXED THE PROBLEM.. THE SAME PROBLEM RECURRED A WEEK LATER. I WAS QUITE UPSET FOR PAYING MONEY FOR A SIMPLE PROBLEM WHICH WAS NOT FIXED. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME TO DISCONNECT THE POWER FROM THE BATTERY (FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES) AND THEN RECONNECT THE BATTERY. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS NOW WORK. HOWEVER THIS PROBLEM COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I DID A SEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM ON THE WEB AND FOUND MANY OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM ON THE 2005 GRAND CARAVAN. THE CORRECT SOLUTION SEEMS TO BE GOING TO A DEALER. BUT I WILL NOT PAY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT ( AND THIS DEFECT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY AND SECURITY PROBLEM). THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE UNDER A RECALL ORDER. *TR
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND POWER WINDOWS RANDOMLY STOPPED WORKING ON MY VAN. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS FROM 1005 DODGE VAN OWNERS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THE EQUIPMENT CONTINUES TO FAIL AND I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION. *TR
FOUR CARS IN FRONT OF ME AT AN INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN I LOST ALL BRAKES. THE PEDAL WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT AND ALMOST RIGHT ONTO A PERSONS LAWN TO KEEP FROM REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. IF MY DAUGHTER HAD BEEN DRIVING THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT REPORT WITH THIS. THANK GOODNESS NO ONE WAS HURT. MY HUSBAND HAD JUST BEEN DRIVING AND HE SAID THE PEDAL WAS FEELING SOFT. IT WOULD GRIP AND THEN GIVE. I HAVE HAD THIS 2005 DODGE CARAVAN FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. I BOUGHT IT AT A USED CAR DEALER, BUT I HAVE HAD NO RECALLS ON ANYTHING BY THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN CONTACTED THEY CAN NOT HELP ME. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WEBSITE HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AND THE 2005 IS THE WORST. THERE WAS REALLY NO WARNING AND THERE IS STILL NO SENSORY LIGHTS ON EITHER. *TR
HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO ILLUMINATE WHEN ROTARY SWITCH IS PLACED IN ON POSITION. MULTIPLE ROTATION OF THE SWITCH FROM OFF TO ON POSITION IS REQUIRED TO GET HEADLIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE. IN SOME CASES, 20+ TRIES WERE REQUIRED. I AM AFRAID THAT COMPLETE FAILURE MAY HAPPEN AND MAKE VEHICLE UNDRIVEABLE IF IT OCCURS AT NIGHT. ONLINE FORUMS INDICATE THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO USE THE KEY FOB TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS, THE DOORS WOULD NOT RESPOND AND THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE SEVERAL FUSES WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE AN ACTUATOR FOR THE SLIDING DOORS WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY AFTER THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
I LIKE MANY OTHER 2005 DODGE CARAVAN OWNERS HAS EXPERIENCED A AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK FAILURE. AFTER TAKING THE VAN OUT ONCE DOOR LOCKS OPERATED PERFECTLY, UPON 2ND TRIP THAT DAY I NOTICED WHEN I WENT TO LOCK THE DOORS WITH THE REMOTE THEY DID NOT LOCK, I TRIED THE INTERNAL DOOR LOCK SWITCH IT DID NOT WORK. I WAS ADVISED (VIA WEBSITE) TO PULL THE 20A IOD FUSE AND REPLACE IT WHICH I DID AND THE LOCKS WORKED FOR ABOUT THREE CYCLES AND STOPPED AGAIN. THE DOORS NO LONGER LOCK UPON SHIFTING INTO GEAR EITHER WHICH MEANS THE PASSENGER DOORS (WHERE THE CHILDREN SIT) DO NOT LOCK WHILE ON THE ROAD AND CAN BE OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WITHOUT THE EFFORT OF PULLING UP THE DOOR LOCK STEM. I AM GOING TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A COMPUTER UPDATE WHICH I AM TOLD SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. THE NEXT STEP IS TO REPLACE THE MODULE AT CONSIDERABLE COST. *TR
POWER LOCKS STOPPED WORKING ON 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THIS INITIALLY AND MY DAUGHTER OPENED THE REAR DOOR WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN WITH IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL. *TR
MY 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN CAR DRIVES 20MPH THEY NO LONGER AUTOMATIC LOCK, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH CHILDREN. WHEN CONTACTING DODGE THEY SAID ITS A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT IS NEEDED. SINCE WHEN DO WE BUY CARS AND THEN NEED TO PAY HUNDREDS TO HAVE THE SOFTWARE UPDATED. WITH THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AND NO BODY WANTS TO MAKE THIS A RECALL. I GUESS DODGE/CHRYSLER ARE WAITING FOR A CHILD TO BE KILLED BEFORE MAKING THIS A RECALL. IF ANY OF MY CHILDREN GET HURT THERE WILL BE A LAWSUIT. *TR

THE SLIDING DOORS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WILL NOT UNLOCK AFTER BEING LOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PREVIOUSLY RESET THE COMPUTER WHICH WAS THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND THE RESETTING OF TWO CODES. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THIS WAS NOT A KNOWN FAILURE AND OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 164,000.
I LOVE OUR VAN AS FAR AS CONVENIENCE AND FEATURES, BUT HAVE HAD PROGRESSIVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE FIRST ISSUE WAS THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS STOPPED WORKING. WE HAD TO SWITCH OFF THE POWER AND USE THEM MANUALLY. THE INTERIOR LIGHT AT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDE SHORTED OUT. EVERY NOW AND THEN IT DECIDES TO WORK. THEN THE DOOR LOCKS ON BOTH OF THE SLIDES STOPPED WORKING. SOME TIMES THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT UNLOCK THE LIFT GATE AND WE HAVE TO OPEN IT WITH THE KEY. THE FRONT MAP LIGHTS WORK SOME OF THE TIME. MY FRONT WINDOWS HAVE STOPPED WORKING AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE BEGIN WORKING AGAIN. SOMETIMES THE THINGS HAVE RESET IF I HAD TO GET MY BATTERY JUMPED OFF OR WHEN I REPLACED MY BATTERY. THE MOST CONCERNING THING TO ME IS THAT MY RIGHT REAR BRAKE LIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS KEEP BLOWING. I HAVE REPLACED THEM NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE LAST TIME IT STILL DID NOT WORK. NOW I JUST DON'T HAVE A LIGHT. NOT SURE HOW EXPENSIVE THIS WILL BE TO FIX. VERY FRUSTRATED AT THE CONTINUOUS AND COMPLEX ISSUES THAT ARE GOING ON. SEEMS THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE I HAVE HEARD OF VARIOUS OTHERS THAT I KNOW HAVING THESE TYPE OF ISSUES. *TR
2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN GAS PEDAL STICKS WHEN PRESSING DOWN, TO BREAK IT LOOSE YOU HAVE TO PRESS IT FURTHER DOWN. I CAN FEEL IT STICKING WHEN I ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. HAS A RECALL BEEN INITIATED OR WILL THERE BE ONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. *TR
POWER DOOR LOCKS STOP WORKING ON DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2005 MODEL. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERYDAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT MAY ALLOW OCCUPANTS TO BE THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE IN CASES OF ACCIDENT OR ALLOW UNWANTED PERSONS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE WITHOUT FORCED ENTRY. INITIALLY THIS COULD BE TEMPORARILY FIXED BY REMOVAL AND RE-INSERTION OF THE IOD FUSE UNDER THE HOOD. THIS PROCEDURE NOW DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT DODGE MUST FIX WITH A UPGRADE. *TR
2005 DODGE CARAVAN DOOR LOCKS QUIT WORKING, AND REQUIRED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX. TREATED AS A CHARGEABLE ITEM FOR SOMETHING THEY KNEW ABOUT DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. *TR
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS DON'T WORK. TAILGATE IS STUCK IN UNLOCKED POSITION. ALL OTHER LOCKS HAVE TO BE OPERATED MANUALLY, THERE IS NO WAY TO LOCK THE TAILGATE MANUALLY. REMOVING AND REINSERTING THE FUSE FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AT A TIME. EVENTUALLY REMOVING THE FUSE STOPPED WORKING. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS THAT THE REPAIR WAS TO FLASH THE BODY CONTROLLER. THIS ISSUE ALSO IS CAUSING A P0135 CODE WHICH IS FOR AN O2 SENSOR HEATER. THIS CODE COMES UP EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE O2 SENSOR. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY CONCERN WITH THE TAILGATE NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK WHICH IS AN EASY WAY FOR SOMEONE TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE AND EITHER CARJACK IT OR STEAL IT, OR BELONGINGS. AS FOR THE P0135 CODE IT HAS CAUSED ME TO CHASE MONEY AFTER AN EMISSIONS PROBLEM THAT REALLY DOES NOT EXIST. THE CONTROLLER CAN ONLY BE FLASHED BY A DODGE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY FIRST WANT TO CHARGE TO DIAGNOSE AN ISSUE THAT IS COMMONLY KNOWN ABOUT, AND THEN PAY FOR THE FIX. I NEED TO GET THE P0135 CODE CLEARED IN ORDER TO PASS THE EMISSIONS TEST AND GET THE LICENSE STICKER, OTHERWISE I CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. *TR

DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ELECTRONICALLY ON DOOR SWITCHES OR KEY FOB. CAN RESET IOD FUSE BY PULLING OUT OF FUSE BOX AND RE-INSERTING; ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS WILL WORK FOR A FEW DAYS THEN PROBLEM COMES BACK. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WOULD ATTEMPT TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ILLUMINATING. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE SWITCH WOULD POSSIBLY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR BAG SENSOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL IT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT LOCATED A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V008000- AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THE RIGHT UP FRONT ACQUISITION SENSOR EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WHICH CAUSED THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. THE MECHANIC ADVISED HE WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. UPDATED 11/08/10 *BF THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER HE COULD NOT ASCERTAIN WHETHER OR NOT THE AIR BAGS WOULD FULLY FUNCTION IN THE EVENT OF AN ACTUAL ACCIDENT. HE WAS ONLY ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THE RIGHT UP FRONT ACQUISITION SENSOR HAD A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION. UPDATED 11/10/10

FAILURE OF THE AUTO DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM TO WORK WHILE DRIVING THE CAR OR TRYING TO LOCK CAR UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE. I TEMPORARILY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY REMOVING THE IOD 20 AMP FUSE FOR 20 SECONDS AND THEN REPLACING IT THUS RESETTING THE SYSTEM AND THEN IT WORKS AGAIN. MY RESEARCH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE A FAULT IN THE BCM FIRMWARE OF THE MAIN COMPUTER MODULE FOR THIS CAR. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IN CASE OF A ACCIDENT AS YOU CANNOT UNLOCK THE DOORS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE WITH THE REMOTE IF THE DOORS ARE LOCKED MANUALLY OTHER THAN THE DRIVERS DOOR WITH THE KEY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR

I OWN A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WITH 52K MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE POWER WINDOWS MALFUNCTION RANDOMLY FOR VARIOUS INTERVALS OF TIME. THEY EITHER FAIL TO OPEN COMPLETELY , FAIL TO CLOSE COMPLETELY, OR NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. LAST YEAR (2009) THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FAILED TO OPEN. I HAD TO REPLACE THE SWITCH. THIS YEAR THE FRONT DRIVER WINDOW WILL NOT OPEN. I HAD THE MASTER SWITCH REPLACED AND THE WINDOW WILL STILL NOT OPERATE. THE MASTER SWITCH IS CONSIDERABLY MORE EXPENSIVE BEING THAT IT HAS INDIVIDUAL CONTROLS TO OPERATE THE FRONT DRIVER, PASSENGER AND REAR LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE VENT WINDOWS. I HAVE READ A LOT OF ONLINE FORUMS THAT THE SAME PROBLEMS EXIST FOR A QUITE A FEW OWNERS OF DODGE GRAND CARAVANS AND CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS (MADE DURING APPROX. 2000 THROUGH 2007). THE REPAIRS THAT ARE MADE AT DEALERS AND PRIVATE REPAIR SHOPS ARE EXPENSIVE AND ARE NOT CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED; BEING THAT THE SAME PROBLEM REPEATS IN RELATIVELY SHORT INTERVALS OF TIME. THE FIXES SEEM TO BE GUESS WORK AT BEST. THE REPAIRS INVOLVE NOT ONLY SWITCHES BUT, POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLIES. IF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW CAN NOT OPEN, THE DRIVER WILL HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR IN ORDER TO PAY TOLLS OR TRANSACT BUSINESS AT DRIVE- THROUGH WINDOWS, POSING A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THAT AN INVESTIGATION BE INITIATED FOR THE ABOVE VEHICLES, FOR THE PROBLEMS MENTIONED, AS TO WHETHER A DESIGN DEFECT CURRENTLY EXISTS. *TR

WE OWN A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WITH 74.000 MILES ON IT. THE POWER LOCKS WILL REPEATEDLY LOCK WHEN I USE MY KEYLESS REMOTE ENTRY OR THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE BUTTONS TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS. THESE DOORS SHOULD BE UNLOCKING BUT INSTEAD EVERYTHING IS LOCKING. WHILE I'M DRIVING, I CAN HEAR THE CLICKING OF THE LOCKS "RE-LOCKING" EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE REAR WIPER IS RUNNING OR I PRESS AND RELEASE THE WINDOW CONTROL BUTTON. SOMETIMES I HIT THE POWER LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER DOOR TO LOCK ALL DOORS BUT NOTHING LOCKS. A 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SXT. THE CLUSTER GAUGES WILL BOUNCE AROUND AND THE LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC., FLICKER. THE CAR HAS DIED WHILE IDLING. IT HAS DIED WHEN ACCELERATING TO TURN AT A STOP LIGHT. IT HAS DIED WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL NOT RESTART RIGHT AWAY AFTER IT HAS DIED. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT AS OF YET, BUT I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO ME AND MY CHILDREN (WHOM I ALMOST ALWAYS HAVE IN THE CAR WITH ME) BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THAT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND NOW WE ARE BACK TO SQUARE ONE. I HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES FROM PEOPLE WITH THE SAME YEAR OF VAN AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE FOUND A WORKING SOLUTION. I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT DODGE CAN NOT SEEM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OR DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. A LOCAL TRANSMISSION MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT EXPENSE FOR APPROXIMATELY $3,000. DODGE WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF THAT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
THE POWER LOCKS ON THE 2005 DODGE CARAVAN COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING . A QUICK FIX IS TO PULL THE IOD FUSE FOR FIVE SECONDS AND PUT IT BACK . IT WILL WORK FOR A LITTLE WHILE THEN LOCKS GONE AGAIN. I ATTEMPTED TO REPORT THIS A FEW DAYS AGO BUT THE FORM ONLY ACCEPTED A 10-DIGIT VIN. THE AUTOMATED RESPONSE WAS NOT CLEAR AS TO WHETHER THE REPORT WAS ACCEPTED DESPITE THE PARTIAL VIN CONSTRAINT OF THE FORM.
