THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AROUND 20 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING THE VAN AND STOPPING IN TRAFFIC (TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE), WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL (FOOT OFF THE BRAKE) THE RPM GAUGE WILL RESPOND BUT THE VAN WILL NOT MOVE. THE VAN BEHAVES LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN PARK DESPITE THE TRANSMISSION BEING IN DRIVE. IN ORDER FOR THE VAN TO MOVE AGAIN YOU MUST PUT THE VAN IN PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE. AT THIS POINT THE TRANSMISSION WORKS AS IT SHOULD. AT LEAST TWICE I HAVE HAD TO TURN THE VAN OFF AND BACK ON BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD WORK CORRECTLY. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER BUT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE AND THERE WERE NO CODES TO PULL. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT OPERATE. SHE WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THAT WAS THE LOCATION WHERE SHE LATCHED HER SMALL CHILD IN THE SAFETY SEAT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 38,000.
I BROUGHT MY 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR AN INSPECTION. FRONT AND REAR BRAKES WERE REPLACED AND AN EGR VALVE WAS REPLACED IN ORDER FOR IT TO PASS INSPECTION. BEFORE THE REPAIRS WERE DONE I WAS GETTING APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES TO THE GALLON. THIS ALSO SHOWED UP ON THE INTERIOR ELECTRONIC INFORMATION CENTER. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE DONE, MY INTERIOR ELECTRONIC INFO CENTER INDICATED I WAS GETTING APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES TO THE GALLON. I CONFIRMED THIS BY THE "OLD FASHION WAY" OF FILLING THE TANK AND DRIVING THEN FILLING IT AGAIN AND DIVIDING THE MILES BY THE NUMBER OF GALLONS. THIS CONFIRMED THAT I WAS GETTING APROX 10 MILES PER GALLON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TO THIS DATE HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE. I'M ALSO CONTINUING TO KEEP TRACK OF THE MILEAGE AND AMOUNT OF FUEL I'M USING. THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH MY WIFE'S DODGE JOURNEY. THE WEB SITE, WWW.FUELECONOMY.GOV SHOWS THAT I SHOULD BE GETTING APROX 20 MILES PER GALLON EVEN WITH THE NEW 10% ALCOHOL ADDITION AND THESE WERE THE APROX EPA STANDARDS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD. I AM CONTINUING MY RESEARCH IN THIS MATTER TO BRING IT TO MY SATISFACTION. *TR
VEHICLE FAILED STATE SAFETY INSPECTION AT 38K MILES. 2 INDEPENDENT MECHANICS FELT IT ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE DRIVING VEHICLE. TIE-RODS REPLACED (BUT NOT SAVED). *TR
AFTER FILLING GAS TANK, ENGINE HESITATED AND KILLED. AFTER RESEARCHING, DETERMINED THIS IS A FUEL TANK VALVE ISSUE COMMON TO MINIVANS. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, OBVIOUS MANUFACTURE DEFECT. VALVE ALLOWS LIQUID GAS INTO VAPOR SYSTEM. ISSUE STILL EXISTS, TEMPORARY FIX IS TO NOT FILL TANK COMPLETELY WHEN REFUELING. EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOME LIGHTS IN HER VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY REPLACEMENT BULBS. THE WIRING IN THE LIGHT EXHIBITS BURNS. THE DEALER HAS TO REPLACE THE BRACKET. THERE ARE NO RELATED RECALLS OR WARRANTIES ON THE PARTS. THE VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER WITHIN THE WEEK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,400.
ACELLERATOR BINDS WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2007 AND FROM DAY ONE, NOTICED THE HARD SHIFT ON MOVE-OFF AND ON SLOW-DOWN. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH A 2007 TOYOTA AND THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED WITH A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. I JUST TOOK MY CAR INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD DEALERSHIP ALONG WITH A COPY OF THE BULLETIN INFO (THANKS TO MYCARSTATS.COM FOR MAKING THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMER) AND THEY SAID THAT THE VEHICLE TESTED FINE - NO PROBLEMS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! SO I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I VISIT ANOTHER (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND OPINION. WHY SHOULD THIS BE??? THIS IS A SIMPLE SOFTWARE FIX. *TR
MY DAUGHTER GOT HER THUMB IN THE WAY OF THE POWER SLIDING DOOR OF OUR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND THE DOOR SHUT COMPLETELY ON HER THUMB. I THOUGHT THE DOOR WAS SUPPOSED TO OPEN BACK UP IF THERE WAS SOMETHING IN THE WAY OF IT. *TR
WHEN SLOWING DOWN AFTER DRIVING IN OVERDRIVE AND PRIOR TO ENGINE REACHING NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE ALL LIGHTS (HEAD, TAIL, DASH, DOME, ETC) DIM TO A NEARLY OFF BRIGHTNESS AND COME RIGHT BACK TO NORMAL BRIGHTNESS AT THE 3/2 DOWN SHIFT. THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND THE DEALER ADVISES THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. I DON'T THINK CHRYSLER DESIGNED THE LIGHTS TO FLASH OFF AND ON WHEN SLOWING DOWN. ALSO, AT 7 MONTHS (15696 MILES) THE BATTERY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE DOME LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE DOME LIGHT SOCKET WAS MELTING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
CAR WILL NOT START AFTER SETTING FOR FEW WEEKS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SPUN, ROLLED OVER INTO A DITCH, AND LANDED ON ITS ROOF. THE SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT WHEN HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THE SEAT BELTS WOULD LOCK IN CASE OF A ROLLOVER. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WERE EJECTED FROM THE SEAT BELTS AND STRUCK THEIR HEADS. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A MISALIGNED BACK AND UPPER AND LOWER SPINAL STRAIN. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CUT HAND AND UPPER AND LOWER SPINAL STRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DETERMINED TO BE DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 32,000.
SINCE MIDDLE OF LAST DECEMBER 2007 I CANNOT USE MY CAR BECAUSE ?TRANSMISSION HAS NO REVERSE?. THIS IS SECOND TIME A TROUBLE LIKE THIS HAPPENS. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED ON LAST OCTOBER 2007 AT 2,230 MILES. ). I CANNOT AGREE WITH YOUR CORPORATION'S DECISION AND LARRY MILLER DODGE SERVICE CENTER'S DECISION TO REPAIR THE VAN AT EVERY 2,000 MILES. PLEASE HELP ME. *TR
THE LEFT ELECTRIC SLIDING DOOR INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING AFTER THE DOOR OPENS. THE PROBLEM EVENTUALLY FIXES ITSELF SEVERAL ENGINE STARTS LATER. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION THAT COULD LEAD TO OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENT FAILURES. MANUALLY CLOSING THE DOOR AFTER IT IS STUCK OPEN DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. DRIVING TO A DEALERSHIP WITH THE DOOR STUCK OPEN IS UNSAFE. THE DEALER WILL NOT VISIT THE VEHICLE TO VIEW THE PROBLEM. IF THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM GOES AWAY, THE DEALER WILL TAKE NO ACTION TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
THIS ISSUE OCCURS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IT IS A CHRYSLER FINANCIAL LEASE VEHICLE, AND CURRENT MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 9,200 MILES. THE PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING AT APPROXIMATELY 250 MILES. I AM AN ENGINEER ON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPLAINT IS TO PROVIDE NHTSA AND THE MANUFACTURER WITH ONE MORE EXAMPLE OF AN ISSUE THAT SEEMS TO BE COMMON WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION/VEHICLE. THE DODGE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED. ISSUE ? THE VEHICLE EXHIBITS AN EXTREMELY HARSH 21 DOWNSHIFT. IT ALSO EXHIBITS A MILDLY HARSH 12 UPSHIFT. I SUSPECT SOLENOID AND/OR VALVE BODY DEBRIS IS PRESENT CAUSING DELAYED/HARSH SHIFTS. THERE IS ALSO A MODERATE AMOUNT OF TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK-UP CLUTCH SLIPPAGE IN THIRD GEAR. THE VEHICLE REMAINS IN THIRD GEAR UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. DURING THIRD GEAR TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK-UP MODE, ENGINE SPEED FLUCTUATIONS ARE VISIBLE ON THE TACHOMETER. THE ENGINE SPEED CHANGES ARE AUDIBLE AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN MONITORING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) LEVEL AND COLOR. THE LEVEL IS CORRECT AND THE FLUID DOES NOT SMELL OR APPEAR BURNT (FLUID IS RED IN COLOR). *TR
ON 8/22/07 I PURCHASED A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN FROM ED NAPLETON DODGE IN OAKLAWN, ILLINOIS. ON 10/5/07 WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, IT OVERHEATED AND THE STEERING WENT OUT OF CONTROL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE HARD TO STEER. LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD THE ALTERNATOR BELT WAS IN SHREDS. IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTS TO LOCK HER VEHICLE WITH THE POWER LOCK FUNCTION, ALL THE DOORS LOCK EXCEPT THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR. SHE HAS NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE HER WITH A RENTAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,541 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. FROM SEPTEMBER OF 2007 UNTIL MAY OF 2008, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A RED LIGHT, THE TRANSMISSION FEELS AS IF IT WILL DROP TO THE GROUND WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. ON MAY 14, 2008, THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINALLY REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BECAUSE PAINT WAS PEELING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER PANEL. THE DEALER STATED THAT TAR ADHERED TO THE PAINT; THEREFORE, THEY WASHED THE QUARTER PANEL AND SCRAPED OFF THE PAINT. WHEN THE VEHICLE AND HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED OFF, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS, FOG LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED, EVEN THOUGH THE SWITCH WAS IN THE OFF POSITION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE AUTOMATICALLY, WHICH DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE HEADLAMP SWITCH SHORTED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SWITCH ON THE PANEL TO SHUT THE VEHICLE DOORS DID NOT WORK FOR TWO DAYS. IT HAS BEGUN TO WORK AGAIN, BUT THE CONTACT BELIEVES IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE SWITCH FAILS AGAIN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500. ON 8/4/07, MY 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY, IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. I PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE CAR WENT DOWN THE HILL, INTO OUR WOODS, AND HIT A TREE. THE CAR WAS IN PARK THE ENTIRE TIME. AFTER THIS, I HAVE SPENT NUMEROUS HOURS CONTACTING CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER DID SEND OUT A MECHANIC AND THEY DID ADMIT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS MECHANICAL - TRANSMISSION DID NOT HAVE THE 'PARKING PIN'. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYWHERE. AT THIS POINT, CHRYSLER WANTS TO REPLACE MY OLD VAN WITH A NEW ONE AND ME TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. I AM NOT AGREEING TO THIS. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD BY CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT AN IMBALANCE IN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. AS HE ATTEMPTED TO DECELERATE AND PULL OVER, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL DETACHED AND ROLLED DOWN THE ROAD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH. HE STATED THAT THE LUG STRUTS FRACTURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 5,500.
CONTINUAL POWER STEERING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE AND METALLIC SOUND FROM FRONT SUSPENSION. I TOOK TO RICHMOND DODGE IN RICHMOND, MI FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES FOR SAME COMPLAINT. ON LAST SERVICE, LEARNED TIE RODS, BALL JOINTS, AND STRUT BEARING DEFECTIVE. POWER STEERING STILL MAKING NOISE AND HARD TO STEER. TOTAL SHOP TIME 10 DAYS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE IDLING AT A RED LIGHT, A VEHICLE REAR ENDED THE CONTACT AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SEAT BELT DID NOT RETRACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. AS A RESULT, THE PASSENGER LUNGED FORWARD AND STRUCK HER FOREHEAD ON THE BACK OF THE DRIVER SEAT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MUSCLE AND BACK INJURIES. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED FOREHEAD, NECK, AND EYE INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WORKED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED OVER $7,000 IN DAMAGES TO THE REAR END. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,385 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
TL*THE CONTACT RENTED A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTED INTO REVERSE BY ITSELF. THE VEHICLE ROLLED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE REAR BUMPER WAS DAMAGED. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS NOT APPLICABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,652.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT HARD AND THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER, THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. AS OF SEPTEMBER 19, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,028.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TAILPIPE WAS EXTREMELY HOT AND BURNED A PASSENGER'S KNEE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THE PIPE DRASTICALLY PROTRUDES FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. NO ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT ACCIDENTALLY PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL INSTEAD OF PARK AND IT ROLLED INTO A POND. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGES. THERE IS A FEATURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE FEATURE. THE PURCHASE DATE AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 24,049 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,152.
WE PURCHASED AN 07' DODGE GRAND CARAVAN JUNE 07 AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS W/ IT SINCE SHORTLY AFTER THE PURCHASE. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND IS CONTINUING TO HAVE THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE HAD IT IN THE LAST TIME WE WERE TOLD CHRYSLER WAS WORKING ON THE PROBLEM AND WOULD HAVE SOMETHING DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST ... WELL I PHONED SEPT 11 12:15 PM AND WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME THEY STILL HAD HEARD NOTHING IN REGARDS TO THE ISSUE. IT STARTED OUT THAT THE VAN WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN COMING TO A STOP ... FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO DROP OUT AT TIMES. IT THEN MOVED TO DOING THIS WHILE IN MOTION AS WELL ... THE DEALER ASSURED US THAT NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN IT IS A COMPUTER PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER IS WORKING ON. THERE ARE OTHER KNOWN CUSTOMERS W/ THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN WE HAD IT IN THE SHOP THE FIRST TIME A DX WAS RAN ON THE COMPUTER TO RESET EVERYTHING ... DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. HAD IT BACK IN A WEEK LATER FOR 9+DAYS AND AT THAT TIME THEY DROPPED THE TRANSMISSION OUT AND REPLACED THE CLUTCHES AND SOMETHING ELSE TOO. AS SOON AS WE DROVE IT OFF THE LOT IT WAS BACK TO SQUARE ONE. MY KEY HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN THE IGNITION ONCE SO FAR ... DIDN'T TAKE IT IN BUT DID PHONE TO LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE. THAT HAPPENED DURING THE MONTH OF JULY .... NOW MY BACK AUTOMATIC DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE SWITCH LOCATED NEAR THE DOORS, AND MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WAS ROLLED DOWN YESTERDAY (09/15/07) AND DIDN'T WANT TO GO BACK UP. I DID FINALLY GET IT UP BUT SCARED TO TRY AND ROLL IT DOWN AGAIN. *JB
THE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN DIES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE. I'M BRINGING IT IN TO A DODGE DEALER IN VEGAS IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THE ERROR CODE IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WILL ZERO OUT ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN STARTED THREE TIMES AFTER THIS PROBLEM OCCURS SO THERE IS NOTHING FOR THE DEALER TO LOOK AT. I'LL TAKE IT IN ANYWAY BECAUSE MAYBE THEY HAVE RUN INTO THIS BEFORE. IT ALMOST HAS TO BE A COMPUTER PROBLEM I BELIEVE. IN MY CASE THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED RIGHT AFTER I ACCELERATED ON THE INTERSTATE TO PASS A CAR. EVERYTHING GOES DEAD JUST LIKE I TURNED THE CAR OFF. I PUT THE VAN INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IT IS GOING AND RESTART THE CAR. NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE. IT MAY BE IMPORTANT TO GET ON THE RECORD BECAUSE THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION DEPENDING ON WHERE AND WHEN IT HAPPENS. IF IT RESULTS IN AN ACCIDENT I'LL FILE LEGAL ACTION. DODGE SHOULD KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND PROVIDE A NEW COMPUTER CHIP OR CHIPS IF THEY REALLY CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT SINCE THAT IS THE MOST PROBABLE CAUSE. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY 07' GRAND CARAVAN IN THE SHOP NOW A TOTAL OF 3TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY ... IT HAS A HARD DOWN SHIFT WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND SOMETIMES WILL DO THE HARD SHIFT WHILE IN DRIVE AS WELL. I WAS TOLD THIS WOULD BE FIXED BY SEPTEMBER .. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER AND STILL NOTHING. I TOOK THIS TO ANOTHER DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IT SHOULD NOT FEEL LIKE MY TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO DROP OUT WHEN I COME TO A STOP. GUESS NEXT TIME IT DOES I WILL HAVE IT BACK IN THERE AGAIN. *TR

IF VARIOUS OTHER DESIGN FLAWS WITH OTHER VEHICLE PARTS HAVE BEEN DEEMED WORTHY OF RECALL TO BE REDESIGNED BECAUSE THEY HAVE FAILED TO DO THAT FOR WHICH THEY WERE DESIGNED...THEN I FEEL LIKE DODGE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL MILLIONS OF MINI VANS THEY HAVE PRODUCED IN EARLY 2000'S THAT HAVE TOTALLY RUSTED OUT LOWER PORTION OF SIDE SLIDING DOORS...TOTAL DESIGN FLAW!!!!!
