MY CAR ONLY HAS 71,000 MILES ON IT AND IT NEEDS ITS FOURTH BRAKE JOB.
THE VAN WILL SHUT OFF AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE SITTING AND ABOUT TO TURN. AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN YOU PUT IN REVERSE, VAN SHUTS OFF. TAKES 8-10 TIMES TO GET IT TO STAY CRANKED. WARNING LIGHTS KEPT BLINKING ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO ON LONG TRIP, SO STOPPED IN PADUCAH, KY AND DODGE DEALERSHIP CHANGED CRANK SENSOR. WAS OK FOR ABOUT 200 MILES ON WAY HOME, BUT STILL SHUTS OFF. WITH MECHANIC AS WE SPEAK AND CHANGED EGR VALVE AND DIDN'T WORK, STILL SHUTS OFF. MECHANIC STILL HAS IT AND TRYING OTHER THINGS. DODGE KNOWS IT'S A PROBLEM, SO WHY WON'T THEY FIX IT. IT'S SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, SO I'M THE ONLY ONE IN THE FAMILY WHO DRIVES IT. WON'T SHUT OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS ON HWY, BUT ON A LONG TRIP, LAST SUMMER, IT DID LOSE POWER AND WENT FROM 70 MPH TO ABOUT 40 MPH...DANGEROUS!!

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON A DAILY BASIS SINCE JULY OF 2015. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE FUSE BLOCK (TIPM) FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,791.

MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING INTERMITTENT STALLING/ NO STARTING ISSUES SINCE 9/16/14. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, SPARK PLUGS, CRANK SHAFT SENSOR, WYN MODULE. I HAVE HAD MY MECHANIC LOOK IT + I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DODGE DEALER 2 TIMES AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT KEEPS STALLING/ NOT STARTING. I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THE DODGE CORPORATE OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP BUT SO FAR I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE. MY CAR HAS STOPPED COMPLETELY (LOSING STEERING/POWER) A LOT OF TIMES, OF WHICH 2 TIMES WERE ON THE FREEWAY GOING 50 + MILES W/ KIDS IN MY CAR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!!!! WHEN DRIVING THE 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE FIRST TIME, AND REGULAR STREET ROADS THE OTHER TIMES AND THE VEHICLE STALLS AND THE BRAKE, STEERING WHEEL AND GAS PEDAL LOCK CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
VAN STARTED AND KEY STUCK, THEN WHEN THE KEY GET FINALLY REMOVED THE ENGINE STAY ON AND WON'T SHUT OFF UNLESS REMOVE CABLES FROM BATTERY. WHEN THE BATTERY CABLES ARE CONNECTED AGAIN THE ENGINE START BY ITSELF WITHOUT A KEY OR THE IGNITION IS ON WITHOUT THE KEY AND THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT OFF THE VAN OR TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION IS TO DISCONNECT THE CABLES FROM THE BATTERY OR IT STAYS ON OR WON'T SHUT OFF. RUNNING THE BATTERY OUT AND YOUR GAS TANK EMPTY.
SIMILAR TO OTHER REPORTS; VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY LOSE POWER AND/OR STALL. IT HAS HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEEDS, STOPPED AT A LIGHT, AND EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH. HAVE TO TAKE KEY OUT OF IGNITION, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND TURN BACK ON AND CAR STARTS UP. ALSO NOW HAVING ISSUES TO TURN ON. LIGHTS ON DASH WILL BLINK AND DIM; RADIO SHUTS OFF; EBS, ANTI LOCK BRAKE, ENGINE LIGHT ALL BEGIN TO BLINK. IDLE NEEDLES GETS LOW. POWER BRAKES LOSE FUNCTION. WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE MARCH 2016, CAR HAS 56000 MILES. TAKEN TO DEALER A FEW TIMES WHERE THE PCM WAS CHANGED AND ISSUED NOT RESOLVED. CHANGED FAULTY PULLEY ON BELT SYSTEM AND ISSUE NOT RESOLVED. COMPUTER DOES NOT COME BACK WITH ANY CODES. LOCAL MECHANIC CHECKED FOR STARTER, ALTERNATOR, IGNITION SWITCH ISSUES AND ALL SHOWING GOOD. VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF DODGE RECALL OF OTHER 2010 THAT ARE HAVING EXACT SAME ISSUE.
WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER AND WINDOWS BECOME INOPERABLE. THE LIGHTS, RADIO, AND AIR TURN OFF, AND THE WINDOWS WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN. THE HEAD LIGHTS STILL WORK, BUT THE REST DO NOT. THEN THEY COME BACK ON OUT OF NOWHERE. THEN OFF AND ON AND OFF AND ON... WHILE SITTING STILL AND WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. AND I FEAR IT'S GOING TO START AN ELECTRICAL FIRE WHILE WE ARE IN THE VEHICLE.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE JUMPSTARTED IN ORDER TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ESTIMATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY TEN TIMES. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

MILEAGE, 78,000 , AIR BAG LIGHT ON DASH CAME ON, TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP, THEY DIAGNOSED AS THE OCR MODULE, NOTICED RECALLS FOR SAME MODEL BUT SLIGHTLY EARLIER PRODUCTION DATES, WHY WASNT THERE BLANKET RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE OF ALL 2010 MODELS?? I WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THIS LIGHT BEING ON MIGHT NOT DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS IN A COLLISION. NEAR $600 TO REPLACE OCR, NOT INCLUDING LABOR.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE JUST STALLS OUT OF NO WHERE AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALMOST WRECKED 3 TIMES DURING THE STALL PERIOD BECAUSE POWER STEERING AND ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND.
ON APRIL 17, DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO CANCEL TWO SEPARATE TIMES. APPLYING BRAKES ALSO DID NOT CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL. THEN, ENGINE STALLED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON SAME TRIP TWO TIMES. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, ENGINE FAILED TO START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE ENGINE STARTED. SUSPECT TIPM FAILURE.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A PERMANENT REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON ,I PUT IN NEUTRAL AND RE-START THE ENGINE.THIS IS GETTING VERY ANNOYING & IS A SAFETY HAZARD.I PHONED DODGE AND THEY SAID THAT IT OUT SIDE OF THE RECALLED DATED WHICH IS 1 MONTH .PHIL WINNIPEG MB CANADA
TWO YEARS AGO THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2009-2010 DODGE CARAVANS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH TURNING OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VAN WAS NOT A PART OF THAT RECALL, HOWEVER THERE HAVE BEEN 5 INSTANCES WHERE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT OR DOWN A NEIGHBOR STREET WHEN THE VAN'S ENGINE JUST TURNS OFF AND I LOOSE STIRRING AND BRAKING ABILITY. THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC ONTO A MAIN ROAD THIS OCCURRED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME I WAS IN DANGER AND ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL CARS. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET THE VAN TO RESTART IS TO PUT IT IN PARK AND TRY AND START IT. IT USUALLY TAKES TO OR 3 TIMES BEFORE IT WILL START, IT SEEMS TO GET STUCK AND THE ENGINE KEEPS TRYING TO START UNTIL FINALLY IT WILL START AND I CAN GET IT MOVING AGAIN. THIS VAN IS THE MAIN VEHICLE FOR OUR FAMILY AND AFTER THIS MORNING I M IN FEAR OF MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF MY CHILDREN. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND HELP ME GET THIS FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE NUMBER OF IMPACTED VEHICLES IS GREATER THAN THE RECALL THEY DID A FEW YEARS AGO.

THE FLOOR PANEL COLLAPSED AND THE HINGES FAILED. THE CHILD FELL ONTO THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOAD FLOOR LATCH FAILED AND CAUSED THE PANELS TO COLLAPSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,200.
I BOUGHT A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AND WITHIN THE LAST 4 MONTHS THE VAN HAS BEEN MAKING A LOUD HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL WHEN SWITCHING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THE VAN HAS UNDER 70,000 MILES AND 3 DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. ANYWHERE FROM 2500-3000 TO FIX. THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS NOT WORTH FIXING BECAUSE IT'S JUST GOING TO CONTINUE TO HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I STILL OWE OVER 7,000 ON IT. IT'S COMPLETELY UNFAIR THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT BEING COVERED BY THE DEALERSHIPS. SO NOW I HAVE TO GET ANOTHER VEHICLE AND START ALL OVER AGAIN.

ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION-SO FAR HAS ONLY OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS BUT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT.ORIGINALLY SEEMED TO OCCUR ONLY WHEN NOT FULLY WARMED UP BUT NOW IS HAPPENING AT REGULAR OPERATING TEMPERATURES ALSO.IT HAS HAPPENED BOTH WHILE MAKING TURNS AND WHILE TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. I OFTEN DON'T NOTICE IT HAS OCCURRED UNTIL I TRY TO ACCELERATE OR TURN AND DISCOVER THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THAT THE TACHOMETER IS ON "O" RPMS. IT HAS BECOME A REGULARLY RE-OCCURRING ANNOYANCE AND HAS OBVIOUS DANGER POTENTIAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL ON THE WIN MODULE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAND OF MODULE THAT THIS VEHICLE CONTAINED WAS NOT THE ONE THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH AND WOULD THEREFORE NOT REPLACE IT. THEY ALSO CLAIMED THAT THE PROBLEM WE WERE HAVING WAS NOT RELATED TO THAT PART. CHECKING ONLINE I FIND THAT I AM FAR FROM THE FIRST OWNER OF THESE VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND THAT CHRYSLER CORP. SEEMS TO BE IN DENIAL OF A PROBLEM AND IS AT A LOSS AS TO CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM. PLEASE ADD MY COMPLAINT TO THE GROWING LIST OF UNRESOLVED COMPLAINTS RELATING TO THIS VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. MY 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN STALLS 5 TO 10 TIMES PER WEEK. IT STALLS AT ANY SPEED AND AT ANY TIME (WARM OR COLD). SINCE THE DODGE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE (HATS OFF TO THEIR INEPTITUDE), AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, I LEARNED THE ISSUE IS DUE TO FAILURE OF THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) AND AFFECTS OTHER DODGE/CHRYSLER PRODUCTS . SEE NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004. HOWEVER, NHTSA STANCE ON THIS IS 'EXCEPT INSOFAR AS THE PETITIONER'S CONTENTIONS RELATE TO THE DEFECT CONDITION ADDRESSED BY THE CHRYSLER RECALLS, THE FACTUAL BASES OF THE PETITIONER'S CONTENTIONS THAT ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATION IS NECESSARY ARE UNSUPPORTED. IN OUR VIEW, ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION IS UNLIKELY TO RESULT IN A FINDING THAT A DEFECT RELATED TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS OR A NHTSA ORDER FOR THE NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY OF A SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT AS ALLEGED BY THE PETITIONER AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE REQUESTED INVESTIGATION. ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIGHT UP, THE WIPERS START AND CAN'T BE STOPPED, ALL THE WINDOWS WON'T GO UP OR DOWN, THE DOOR LOCKS WON'T WORK AND WORST OF ALL THE GAS GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, AND OTHER DASH INDICATORS GO DEAD SHOWING NO ACTION. THIS ALL HAPPENS UNANNOUNCED AT ANY TIME DRIVING OR STILL. IT CAN HAPPEN WITH JUST TURNING THE KEY ON TO START THE CAR.THE MOST RECENT TIME, 2/10/16 THE DEALER REPAIR SAID THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 24 DIFFERENT CODES SAVED THAT DID CONFLICT WITH EACH OTHER.

WE HAVE A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN THAT WAS BUILT IN JUNE OF 2010. IT HAS 39,711 MILES ON IT AND THREE TIMES THIS WEEK, 02/03&04/2016, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF INADVERTENTLY WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT AT SPEEDS UP TO 40 MPH. THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND SHE LET IT COAST TOP A STOP, WHILE BREAKING, PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS WAS ON A STATE ROUTE SHE PUT IT IN PARK AND THE CAR STARTED ALL THREE TIMES. TWO OF THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE OUR 2 MIDDLE SCHOOL CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER COMPLAINT BUREAU AND THEY CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER AND TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR RECENT RECALL INVOLVING THEIR WIN IGNITION KEY FOB PROBLEMS EVEN THOUGH OUR VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ENGINE SHUT DOWN AS IN THEIR RECALL. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED WITH A COMPUTER AND THERE ARE NO CODE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER I WENT TO TOLD ME OUR VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED 6 DAYS OUT OF THE JUNE 17TH. 2010 RECALL DATE. ON CHECKING MY STICKER ON THE DRIVER DOOR, IT ONLY GIVES 06/2010 AS A MFG DATE. IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY FOR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN IT WILL BE COSTING ME JUST OVER $600.00 TO HAVE THIS FIXED WITH THE SAME PARTS AS IN THE RECALL. ITS HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THAT BACK IN 2010 AS CHRYSLER WAS USING THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT AFTER JUNE THEY QUIT USING THEM SINCE THE RECALL DIDN'T TAKE EFFECT TILL JUNE 26, 2014.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000. UPDATED 08/30/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE POWER WINDOWS, MIRRORS, AND LOCKS WERE INOPERATIVE. THE FUSES WERE REPLACED , BUT THE FAILURES PERSISTED. *JS

THE VEHICLE STALL WHILE DRIVING FORWARD ON THE STREETS, IN MOTION, IT SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY DISABLING POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC.
THE DODGE DEALER DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED FOR RECALL R03/NHTSA 14V-373 CONCERNING THE WIN MODULE AND FOBIK REPLACEMENT. I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS LETTERS ABOUT THIS CONDITION FROM CHRYSLER CORP OVER MANY MONTHS AND STILL NO PARTS. I HAVE 9 OTHER SAME VEHICLES WITH THE SAME RECALL.
IN LATE 2014, THE VAN STARTED HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUES STARTING & WOULD OCCASIONALLY STALL WHILE DRIVING. ISSUES STARTED TO PROGRESSIVELY GET WORSE OVER THE NEXT YEAR. THE VAN WOULD HAVE TO BE JUMPED TO START ON A DAILY BASIS. THE VAN WAS IN FOR SERVICE AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER 2015, BUT THEY STATED IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE. THE BATTERY WAS 1 YEAR OLD AND WE HAD IT TESTED AT WAL-MART, WHERE WE PURCHASED IT AND IT TESTED OK. WE THEN HAD IT TESTED AT ADVANCE AUTO & AUTO ZONE AND IT TESTED OK THERE AS WELL. WE DID NOT BELIEVE IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE, WE BELIEVE THE TIPM IS THE ISSUE. IN DECEMBER 2015 WE NOTICED WE COULD HEAR SOMETHING RUNNING AFTER THE VAN'S IGNITION WAS OFF AND THE KEY WAS OUT. THE FUEL PUMP WAS STILL RUNNING AND WOULD DRAIN THE BATTERY EVERYDAY. AN EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS INSTALLED AND THE FUEL PUMP NO LONGER RAN AFTER THE VAN WAS OFF. THE VAN WOULD STILL HAVE INTERMITTENT STARTING AND STALLING ISSUES. AFTER READING ALL THE ISSUES OTHER 2010 DODGE PRODUCTS WERE HAVING ASSOCIATED WITH THE TIPM, I ASKED A DODGE SERVICE GUY ABOUT MY VAN. HE AGREED THAT THE TIPM WOULD EXPLAIN ALL THE ISSUES THAT I HAVE WITH MY VAN, BUT THERE WAS NO OPEN RECALL AND THE PART WAS ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER. THE PART IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR >$800! ON JANUARY 25, 2016, THE VAN STALLED AGAIN AND I COULD NOT GET IT TO START. I HAD TO GET SOMEONE TO COME JUMP IT OFF, HOWEVER, THIS TIME IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET THE VAN TO START EVEN BEING JUMPED. I BOUGHT ANOTHER CAR THE NEXT DAY AND PARKED THAT VAN AT OUR HOME. IT HAS BEEN SITTING THERE SINCE JANUARY 2016. CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THESE ISSUES IN THE 2010 GRAND CARAVAN, BUT THEY REFUSE TO TAKE OWNERSHIP. THIS IS DISAPPOINTING ESPECIALLY SINCE CHRYSLER KNOWS THE RECALLED TIPMS IN THE 2010 DURANGOS & GRAND CHEROKEES ARE THE SAME IN THE 2010 GRAND CARAVANS. I WAS A LOYAL CHRYSLER CUSTOMER UNTIL THIS!

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,700.
TIPM ELECTRICAL FIRE WHILE VAN WAS PARKED. STARTED AFTER PUSHING THE DOOR LOCK ON MY KEY FOB. CHRYSLER SENT AN INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER OUT ON 2/2/16. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM CHRYSLER YET. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME MY VAN HAS HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. 1ST TIME WAS OCTOBER 2014 - HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE VAN. I SAVED THE 2 BOXES WORTH OF BURNED HARNESSES/PARTS JUST IN CASE. I PAID $6,000 OUT OF POCKET LAST TIME. FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND DISCONNECTED BATTERY AND FUSE BOX. NO FLAMES OR INJURIES.
THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND CONTINUES TO DO SO. WHEN THE VAN IS RUNNING AND IN PARK IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK UNLESS I PLAY WITH THE KEY (JOSTLE IT AROUND) THE SHIFT LEVER THEN IS VERY HARD TO SHIFT (AS IF IT IS HALF ENGAGED). WHEN THE VAN IS OFF I TRY TO START THE CAR BUT IT DOESN'T START UNLESS I REMOVE THE KEY AND PUT IT BACK IN NUMEROUS TIMES. THE KEY HAS COME OUT WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND I COULD NOT TURN THE CAR OFF UNTIL I PUT IT BACK IN THE IGNITION AND PLAYED WITH IT FOR A FEW MINUTES. FROM THE FORUMS I HAVE READ THIS SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE RECALLED IGNITION PARTS BUT MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ON THAT RECALL LIST? THERE IS NO KEY-CHAIN ON THE KEYS AND NEVER HAD ANY.
WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH OUR VAN NOT STARTING OR STALLING FOR NO REASON. WE ARE ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH OUR KEY FOB WORKING TO LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY DAY AND CANNOT BE PREDICTED BUT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. WE HAVE TAKEN IT FOR SERVICE AND REPLACED BATTERIES IN KEY FOBS. HOWEVER, THE ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN REPLICATED DURING SERVICE. OUR VAN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE IGNITION RECALL. WE WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST RECONSIDERATION.
WE RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE. CALLED DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE REPAIRS, WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL BACK WHEN PARTS CAME IN. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, NO CALL. CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SAME. IT HAS PROBABLY BEEN CLOSE TO A YEAR AND HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM EITHER DEALERSHIP.
