SMOKE COMING FROM DRIVER SIDE REAR BRAKE. PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED. COMING FROM BRAKE. REMOVED TIRE AND SAW THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS A ACTIVATED DUE TO A SPRING HAD BROKE. I HAVE P SPRING WAS RUSTED. WE HAVE HAD SIMILAR HEATING PROBLRMS IN THE PAST WITH BOTH REAR WHEELS.I HAVE PICTURES OF SPRING AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH ALL MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN A REACURRING PROBLEM WITH WHEELS OVER HEATING. WE EVEN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN THE PAST AND THEY SAID ALL LOOKS NORMAL?

THE VEHICLE STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND THE WATER PUMP WON'T SHUT OFF AND IT IS CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DIE AND OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR. AFTER SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO LOOK INTO THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS THE TIPM. AFTER RESEARCH THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF CASES REGARDING FAULTY TIPM'S ON 2007-2012 CHRYSLER VEHICLES, INCLUDED MULTIPLE DEATHS. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO ISSUES A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO THE CUSTOMERS AFFECTED. *TR

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE CALIPER WAS SMOKING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CALIPERS WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,703. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY VAN SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON NORTH ROXBORO ROAD ON THE WAY TO NORTHERN HIGH SCHOOL. I WAS PROTECTED UNTIL AAA CAME AND TOWED MY CAR TO THE DEALER. I RENTED A CAR AND I PAID FOR THE 1ST WEEK OF THE RENTAL AND THE OTHER WEEK WAS CARED FOR BY THE DEALER. IT IS UNKNOWN WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT IN TIME. ONCE THIS HAPPENED, A FEW MONTHS LATER THE CAR BEGAN TO CUT OFF AT THE GAS STATION THE DAY BEFORE MY FAMILY WAS ABOUT TO TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN. ONCE IT CUT OFF WE HAD TO DRIVE ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS NOT WORKING WELL TO OUR DESTINATION. AAA JUMP STARTED MY VAN IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE ADVISED ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT IF THE BATTERY WAS LOW AND I RECEIVED A JUMP START I SHOULD DRIVE THE CAR. I TRIED AND TURNED AROUND ONCE AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAITED 30 MINUTES BEFORE SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO PUSH MY VAN INTO THE LOT. MY CAR WAS HELD MOST OF THE DAY AND AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A BATTERY. I CALLED MY HUSBAND TO DISCUSS THE MATTER, HE WANTED TO DISCUSS THE INFORMATION WITH THEM AND THEY WERE ASKING FOR A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX NOT ONLY THE BATTERY, BUT THE ALTERNATOR AS WELL. THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT THE PROBLEM I WAS TOLD ORIGINALLY. I HAD ONLY BROUGHT THE CAR TO THEIR LOCATION. THEY WANTED ALMOST A $1000.00 TO FIX MY VAN. I HAD AAA TOW MY VAN AWAY, AAA BROUGHT ME A NEW BATTERY AND THEY TESTED AND FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS THE MAIN SOURCE OF MY PROBLEMS. THE LAST TIME MY VAN SHUT OFF IT HAD ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON. THE VOLTAGE LIGHT, THE ABS BRAKE LIGHTS, THE OIL LIGHTS, THE AIR BAG LIGHTS AND THE BATTERY LIGHT. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF COMMISSION. I HAD AT LEAST 3 INCIDENCES THAT INVOLVED MY CHILDREN AND FEEL THAT OUR LIVES WERE AT STAKE. I NEED TO HAVE A RESOLUTION IN THIS MATTER WITHOUT BEING REQUIRED TO BUY A NEW PLAN. I FEEL CHEATED. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 50-55 MPH FOR A MERGING VEHICLE. WHEN I CHANGED LANES AND ACCELERATED, THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO 4000 RPM AND STUCK THERE, AND I WAS GOING OVER 80 VERY QUICKLY. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VAN CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I PUT THE VAN IN NEUTRAL AND BRAKED, AND WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND STOP AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I STARTED THE VAN BACK UP AND THE ENGINE WENT RIGHT BACK TO 4000 RPM - EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS BEFORE. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN REPEATED THE PROCESS ANOTHER 3 TIMES - STRAIGHT BACK TO 4000 RPM. I VERIFIED THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS NOT STUCK ON ANYTHING. SINCE THE VAN HAS THE AUTO-MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHERE I CAN SHIFT MANUALLY, I STARTED THE VAN, AND IMMEDIATELY PUT IT IN DRIVE AND SHIFTED MANUALLY, AND THE ENGINE KICKED A FEW TIMES AND THEN BEGAN TO RUN NORMALLY. RAN NORMALLY ALL THE WAY HOME. CALLED A FEW DEALERS, NONE OF WHICH SEEMED TOO CONCERNED AND COULDN'T GET MY VAN IN FOR OVER A WEEK. WHEN I FINALLY GOT A DEALER TO LOOK AT IT, THEY PERFORMED A RECALL FOR THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE RECALL ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND NONE OF THE SERVICE DEPTS I CALLED HAD HEARD OF IT. *TR
WE WERE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WHEN THE MOTOR STARTED MAKING A GRINDING SOUND. WE DROVE IT STRAIGHT HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY STATED THE SCREWS THAT WERE HOLDING THE ENGINE TO THE MOUNT HAD BEEN SHEARED OFF ON ONE SIDE AND THE ENGINE HAD FALLEN ONTO THE FRONT AXEL. THE SCREWS ON THE OTHER SIDE WERE COMPLETELY STRIPPED AND WERE ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SHEARED IN HALF. THE MECHANIC STATED HE FELT THIS WAS DUE TO THE ENGINE MOUNT SCREWS NOT BEING PROPERLY TIGHTENED AT THE FACTORY. WE TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW THIS HAD HAPPENED BECAUSE THE SCREWS WERE SHEARED OFF BUT THEY WOULD NOT CLAIM ANY FAULT. THEY ALSO STATED IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY BECAUSE IT'S NOT PART OF THE POWER-TRAIN. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND TO HAVE THE MOTOR FALL OUT DURING DRIVING DOES NOT SEEM LIKE STANDARD WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT OR COLLISION AND HAS HAD ALL THE APPROPRIATE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AS OUTLINED BY DODGE. *TR

AS A RESULT, THE SEAT BELT COULD NOT FUNCTION AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I WOULD OCCASIONALLY SMELL SMOKE WHILE DRIVING THE FIRST FEW TIMES IT HAPPENED I PULLED OVER BUT NOTICED NO OBVIOUS SMOKE COMING FROM ANYWHERE, THIS WAS NEVER A CONSISTENT ONGOING PROBLEM MEANING I DON'T SMELL IT DAILY. SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AT MAYBE 40 MPH IF I GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE GAS TO SPEED UP A LITTLE IT WOULD SPEED UP MORE THAN I THOUGHT IT SHOULD. WHEN UNPLUGGING THE USB CORD INTO THE BOARD FOR MUSIC I CAN HEAR A LOUD NOISE THAT TYPICALLY IS ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. MOST RECENTLY MY A/C HAS BEGAN COMING ON AUTOMATICALLY, THIS BEGAN LAST WEEK AND HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES SO FAR. SINCE THE A/C ISSUE I GOT ONLINE TO GOGGLE AD SEARCH FOR POSSIBLE RECALLS. I PLACED A CALL WITH A LOCAL DODGE DEALER TO EXPLAIN THE ISSUES I'M HAVING AND ASK ABOUT A RECALL, I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD RETURN MY CALL BUT HAS NOT. THIS VAN HAS A RAMP INSTALLED IN IT AND IS USED TO TRANSPORT MY DAUGHTER WHO HAS SPECIAL NEEDS. I NEED THIS RESOLVED ASAP. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE ROLLED ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND CONTINUED SLIDING UNTIL IT WENT INTO A DITCH. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
2011 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED PREMATURELY. THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE PADS BECAME METAL-TO-METAL WITH THE BRAKE ROTOR. THE CONSUMERS MECHANIC STATED THE BRAKE PADS WERE FROZEN ON THE CALIPER SLIDES, AND THE REAR BRAKES WERE THE SAME.
THE CAR CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, A WEEK BEFORE I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CAR NO STARTING INTERMITTENT. THE DEALER RETURN THE CAR SAYING NO PROBLEM FOUND. AFTER THIS HAPPENS CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, I TOOK THE CAR AGAIN TO THE DEALER, THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACE THE "TIPM" P/N 68244893AA, I WAS CHARGED $890.10, THE DEALER MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHER PLEASE FORCE CHRYSLER TO RECALL THIS "TIPM" AS THEY DID TO THE SUV'S. *TR
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND WHEN IT DID IT WOULD RUN AT A FAST IDLE THEN IT WOULD GO IN TO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD, LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH LITTLE TO NO POWER TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC IN THE MIDDLE ON AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO LIMP MODE. VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ALL ENGINE POWER WHILE ACCELERATING TO SPEED AT RANDOM TIMES (MAKING THE VEHICLE BOGS DOWN) MAKING THE DRIVER AND ANY PASSENGERS GET THROWN FORWARD AND THEN BE THROWN BACK WHEN ENGINE POWER WOULD COME BACK. VEHICLE WAS ALSO GIVING ME PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTOMATIC SIDE DOORS NOT OPENING AND CLOSING AND THE HVAC SYSTEM WOULD COME ON BY ITS SELF AT RANDOM TIMES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY (THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR) STATING THAT WAS THE REASON FOR ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. AFTER GETTING VEHICLE BACK EVERYTHING WAS GOOD FOR A FEW DAYS THEN WENT BACK TO DOING ALL OF THE SAME PROBLEMS WITHIN A FEW DAY OF GETTING VEHICLE BACK FORM DEALER. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER FOR THE 2ND TIME AND THEY REPLACED THE PCM (2ND TIME THE PCM HAD BEEN REPLACE SINCE PURCHASED 12/31/2011) & THROTTLE BODY (THAT I HAD TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE). VEHICLE WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE 3RD TIME WITHIN A 18 DAY PERIOD. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT I COULD BE THE TIPM BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEE IT ACT UP BEFORE THEY COULD REPLACE THE PART, DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM WAS THE CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS. THE TIPM WAS REPLACED (HAD TO PAY FOR PARTIAL OF THE COST) AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AGAIN. I FEEL THAT EVEN WITH THE TIPM REPLACED THAT I COULD STILL HAVE GOTTEN A POORLY MADE PART AS A REPLACEMENT. I FEEL AT TIME WHILE DRIVING THAT SOME OF THE PROBLEMS ARE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN, LIKE THE SLIDING DOOR NOT WORKING AND THE HVAC SYSTEM TURNING ON BY ITS SELF. ON 1/22/15 I HAD A FUEL INJECTOR GO BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, MAYBE DUE TO THE TIPM? *TR
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A ROUNDABOUT AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE RIGHT SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. TWO OF MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE SECOND ROW SEATS. THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR WAS CRUSHED AND THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED AND PROJECTED THROUGH THE VAN TO THE LEFT SIDE. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON, SO THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF A FAULT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

WHEN TRYING TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN, STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES SO MUCH IT FEELS LIKE I WON'T BE ABLE TO HOLD ONTO IT. MY SON REPLACED THE ROTOR AND PADS ON FRONT BRAKES AS THEY SEEMED WORN. THEY PUT NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS ON THE VAN AND 100 MILES LATER THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL IS OVERHEATING. THERE IS STILL RATTLES IN THE BRAKES. I TOOK THE VAN IN BEFORE SUMMER STARTED BECAUSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR VENT IT WOULD NOT GO TO COLD, ONLY HOT. AFTER HAVING OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VAN, THE LIFE LONG DEALER WE WORK WITH TALKED US INTO TRADING FOR A 2011 DODGE CARAVAN, ASSURING THAT THE BRAKE AND ROTOR ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED. IT HAS BEEN ONE YEAR AND THE NEW VAN NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS AT ONLY 19,900. I WAS INFORMED THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER ADDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (ONCE AGAIN), BUT THIS TIME I GOT TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE OF $50 (0-24,000 MILES). IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BEFORE 36,000 MILES MY DEDUCTIBLE GOES UP. WHAT, I GET TO PAY FOR THEIR POOR PARTS PURCHASING?
