Our heater core has gone out twice now, preventing us from properly being able to defrost our windows /windshield in winter and remove moisture during cooler days. It creates a substantial risk by reducing, or in some cases, completely removing visibility
Took car in for windshield wiper safety recall on 3/24/23. BEFORE the recall the wipers worked perfectly. After the dealer serviced the wipers they sometimes would not go off and then seemed to be stalling a lot but I did not have many occasions where I needed to use the wipers as I work from home and have a second car in the household. Today I was driving in a severe thunderstorm when they stopped working completely. In fact, they are now stuck in the upright position and will not move. This is EXTREMELY dangerous and exactly what the recall was meant to avoid! It makes me wonder if the mechanics actually did anything to my car at all.
Windshield wipers stopped working while in the “on” position on the windshield. I replaced the wiper motor but the wipers still do not work. Yes, this issue was inspected by several reputable mechanics and service centers. This issue causes safety issues as I live in a region who experiences most of almost all precipitation including rain, hail, snow and etc. I am unable to drive under these conditions because I am unable to use my wipers. There were no warning signs or messages before the wipers failed. I was informed by the Dodge/Chrysler dealership that this is a common issue with this truck and year.
Wipers have stopped working after the recall was repaired
The vehicle windshield wiper system comes on while driving constantly. It is very distracting and definitely causes an obstruction in your visibility. It is very annoying as well. It acts as if the wiper system does not want to go in the park position on the wiper motor.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY EVER SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V438000 (VISIBILITY). THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH JEFF WYLER SPRINGFIELD AUTO MALL (1501 HILLCREST AVE, SPRINGFIELD, OH 45504, 937-325-4601) WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER RECALL REPAIR WAS COMPLETED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
PASSENGER SIDE WIPER DOES NOT WORK
WIPERS OPERATE ON THERE ON AS SOON AS KEY IS TURNED ON. REPLACED MULTIFUNTION SWITCH, WIPER SWITCH AND WIPER MOTOR. WIPERS STILL ON. TAKEN TO DEALER DID RECALL FOR NEW RELAYS, WIPERS STILL ON. DEALER WILL NOT LOOK AT IT SAYS RECALL COMPLETED. TAKEN TO INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND TIPM IS WHATS CAUSING ISSUE. DODGE WON'T FIX IT UNDER RECALL WHICH IS CAUSING THE ISSUE FROM THE BEGINING

THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SOMERSET CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 1491 BRAYTON POINT RD, SOMERSET, MA 02725, (508) 298-6806), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED OR DUPLICATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE OPERATING CORRECTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 183,000.
WIPERS WILL NOT SPRAY FLUID.
ON OR ABOUT 6:51 AM. 7/20 /2015 I STARTED TO GO TO WORK, AND REALIZE IT JUST FINISH RAINING. WIND HAD STARTED TO MOVE THE TREE'S NEAR ME. AND DROP QUIET A BIT OF WATER ON MY WIND SHIELD. SO I RESPONDED BY TURNING THE WIPER'S ON AND TO KNOW EFFECT AT ALL THEY DID NOT WORK. SINCE THEN THE WEATHER HAS NOT BEEN FAVORABLE. IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I CAN USE THAT IS SERVICEABLE. TOOK CAR IN FOR REPAIRS IN REGARDS TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER RECALL IN JANUARY 2013. TRUSTING THAT BERGERON DODGE TOOK CARE OF THE RECALLED ISSUE; I NEVER EXPECTED MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO STOP WORKING ALL TOGETHER. ON THE MORNING OF FRIDAY, MAY 3, DURING MY COMMUTE TO WORK, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING ON ALL PAUSE SETTINGS. SINCE IT WAS RAINING PROFUSELY THAT MORNING, THE HIGHER SETTING WAS OKAY TO USE. AS OF TODAY, I CANNOT DRIVE THE NITRO BECAUSE THE WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER AND IS NOW A HAZARD TO DRIVE DURING THE RAIN. NOT ONLY DO I FEEL THE PROBLEM WAS NOT REPAIRED IN JANUARY, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $50 TO LOOK AT THE WIPERS. THE WIPERS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,300. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
HAD TO MAKE A BANK DEPOSIT ON/AROUND THE EVENING OF 08/15/12. WHEN I LEFT MY HOME AND TURNED ON THE AIR CONDITIONER, I NOTICED THAT THE AIR WAS BLOWING COOL, BUT NOT COLD (ALTHOUGH THE TEMPERATURE WAS SET AT THE COLDEST SETTING). AT FIRST I DID NOT PUT MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT BECAUSE IT WAS A HOT AND MUGGY EVENING. TWO, THE BANK IS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE AND FIGURED THE CAR HAD NO TIME TO COOL DOWN BEFORE REACHING THE BANK. NOT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY WAS IT APPARENT THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS NO LONGER WORKING AND ONLY BLOWING WARM/HOT AIR. MY HUSBAND IS A HVAC TECHNICIAN AND WAS ABLE TO REFILL THE FREON FOR THE AIR CONDITION, BUT WHEN FILLING THE FREON HE NOTICED THE DEGREE WAS NOT GETTING COOLER. WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED ON; ALL THE FREON LEAKED OUT INTO THE NITRO. IT WAS SO BAD, I HAD TO PULL OVER AND ALLOW THE CAR TO AIR OUT BECAUSE THE FUMES WERE CHOKING US. FOR A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD, I FIND THIS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM HAS SUCH A MAJOR LEAK AS THIS ONE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN A RAIN STORM THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO FUNCTION. SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER WHEN HER WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING $155.63 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PERFORMED IN FEBRUARY 2010. SHE STATED THAT THE DEALER PRESENTED HER WITH A RECALL LETTER THAT SHE DID NOT RECEIVE IN THE MAIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
