I noticed my coolant level dropping about a year ago. I would fill up the coolant reservoir and the coolant level would drop within a few days. The issue was from the water pump leaking. I replaced the water pump with an OEM ford water pump. One year later the coolant level is dropping, and I have the same issue again. Looking at some of the forums, this appears to be a common issue with this make and mode.

While turning during slow turns, my rear differential makes a growling noise. The growl has gotten progressively louder. Another Bronco Sport owner had the same issue and traded their vehicle due to the inability and high cost of the repair.
Water pump leak discovered at oil maintenance appointment at 25,000 miles. No service light message appeared. Water pump was replaced by dealer. Dealer notes; Degas bottle low added coolant, verified coolant leak coming from water pump weep hole. Recommend replacement of water pump. I do not understand how a two year old car already needs a water pump replacement
All tires are completely worn at 37,000 miles causing my braking stop time to increase and traction reduction when roads are wet and slippery. Also the tires are now making a rubbing sound when turning and was told it may be due to the way the tire tread has worn. Continental 225 / 65 R17

Car stalled twice within a weeks time. Service dealer is reporting it as a battery issue when this seems to be a common problem online in forums. The car doesn’t give any sign or warning it just comes to a stop whether it be an intersection, highway, etc and does not allow you to place car in neutral because of its state.
Rubbing noise in tail end of vehicle. Ford has a TSB (24-2185) for this problem. Dealership states it is not covered under the powertrain bc they are not replacing the entire differential but replacing certain parts.

June 28th, 2024; the entire car turned off on its own while I was waiting for a red light. The engine was primarily off from the auto-start feature, like normal, except after I let go of the brake the entire car just shuts off. The start button would not press, the brake pedal was insanely stiff to press, and the dashboard had all the lights turned on an off, and I couldn't change gears whatsoever. Many displays on the dash appeared, parking brake was forced to turn on, pre-collision feature disabled, "System off to save battery" on the main screen, etc. I was in the middle of traffic, so I was putting myself and others in danger while my car suddenly shuts off without prior warning. There was never an indication that this would happen, and I only had the car for a year and a half, so I would think the only problem would be the system itself. I managed to turn the car on by putting the key fob on the center console where the Bronco can read it, and it immediately turned on after an hour. The dealership did check it out right after and said it only needed a small system update. Ever since, the car was fine until July 24th: the car did not start again. I was home and my car was parked, so no danger this time. However, I tried laying the key on the console again, including my spare key, but no luck. I had originally thought it was the battery in my key that was low, but it was working fine like always. However, when I locked the car, the horn and lights were faded, and weren't as strong as it should sound. Although this is the second occurrence in about a month, I've only had the dealership inspect it once. I am available for inspection after August 1st. Thank you.

The vehicle was repaired. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V019000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
There are at least three separate chips on windshield caused by very small gravel on different occasions. The windshield should not be chipping so easily. The most recent happened yesterday and immediately spread. The cost of these windshields are pricey due to rain sensors. integrity of windshield seems compromised for whatever manufacturing reason. Recall?

Battery exploded while driving down the street causing the car to go completely dead and roll to a stop.
Water pump failed and needed to be replaced
Car makes a grinding noise when backing up. When car was in for servoce back in June was told parts are in back order. No contact at all from dealer. Today car was in for servise - dealer is aware of the issue - they stated Ford has not issued. revall yet for this issue. This is the 4th issue with this vechile since I purchased it new in December of 2022

On or around 17 May 2024, spouse was driving child to daycare. Residential speed limit was 35 mph, when dashboard alerts "Power terrain, Hill Assist, Backup Camera, Front Camera, 911 Service, Please Service Now, Shift System Fault, Parking Brake INOP" illuminated and parking brake was applied by vehicle without owner input. Upon pulling into parking lot and turning off vehicle and restarting, vehicle cleared all faults and indications. Scheduled service immediately, service center implemented recalls 22S73, 24S24, and replaced faulty gateway module and reprogrammed software, additionally test drove vehicle 5 miles without duplication of discrepancy. Upon return of vehicle, on approximately 3 June, driver alerts and parking brake self-applied and would not start. Arranged tow truck to pick up vehicle, driver tried to drive vehicle onto platform, but after starting vehicle flashed warnings across dashboard and applied parking brake without input. Service center could not duplicate problem and offered no further troubleshooting or guarantees on work. Reached out to corporate to escalate issue but was unable to reach satisfactory resolution.
Sitting in school drop off, car shut off by itself and is dead. What if that happened while driving? Completely frightening!
On Monday [XXX], I was driving my vehicle home when I received the following error messages while driving: -pre collision assist not available -service advancetrac -check park aid -service vehicle soon -front camera fault service required -front camera fault service required -shift sys fault service required I was able to make it home and got my car towed to Washington Ford (Washington,PA) the next day. Ok Wednesday [XXX], I received the following message from Washington ford “ Your vehicle is done and ready to pick up. The concern was related to a reprogram of the power steering control module. --Andrea Baumgardner Washington Ford” I picked up the vehicle on Wednesday. On Thursday night, I was driving home after 12am when I received all the same above error messages that I noted as well as losing power steering and control of all my lights (headlights, turn signals, hazard lights). I had the car towed again the next day back to Washington Ford. Since then they have not been able to duplicate the problem and that there’s nothing more they can do. I was told “my vehicle is ready to pick up” but couldn’t guarantee it was safe to drive In April of 2024, Ford recalled 456,000 Ford broncos for “ because the vehicles may fail to detect a low battery charge, which could lead to a loss of engine and electrical power while driving.” Which is the exact issue I had with my vehicle two times in 3 days, however my vehicles VIN wasn’t included in that recalled. On May 13th, 2024 expanded the recall and my vehicle was included this time. I was told there was no remedy for the recall at this time and they were expecting a new update on May 29th, 2024 but in the meantime they are not offering me a rental car and told me my only option is to get a rental car myself if I feel that the car is unsafe to drive. I can not afford a rental car. So my only option ford leaves me is to drive a vehicle that they can not guarantee is safe to drive since they aren’t able to duplicate INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly jerked, after which the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart; however, upon shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle shifted into reverse instead. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V267000 (Electrical System, Power Train), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 11,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while pulling out of a parking lot, and driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The contact’s husband jumpstarted the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was battery related. The vehicle was not repaired. My bronco is going through coolant very quickly. If my heat wasn't working I would likely not have checked it. There was none in the resivour. There are no leaks in the lines or radiator.
Vehicle started on its own, no remote start scheduled or activity. Online forums suggested battery failure and two days later battery was dead. Battery replaced. Filed complaint with Ford seeking answers regarding safety concerns and took to Ford dealership for inspection and service. Vehicle was also in same dealership twice for maintenance service and brakes within two weeks of the mystery start incident. Ford found 15 U codes relating to battery or electrical failures, reset battery monitoring systems and returned vehicle. I don’t have any explanation from Ford as to why or how the vehicle started, Ford has not denied it, but they have not provided any reason for me to believe the vehicle is safe to keep driving and parking in an enclosed space. I asked Ford if they are aware of the risk and they only response I received, is they asked me to keep monitoring the vehicle and if I experience any problems to bring it back to the dealership.
When driving down the highway at 80 MPH, vehicle lost all infotainment and instrument panel. This happened several times, battery and alternator were tested and returned nothing. Upon completion of the drive, the vehicle would not start and the alternator had to be replaced. Approximately 3 months prior the drive train lost power and the turbo had to be replaced.
On [XXX] I drove my 2022 Bronco to the local car wash, after washing my vehicle the vehicle would not start. I realized it was the battery when no electronics turned on. This occurred in the midafternoon, and I was fortunate to be parked in an area that was busy. Had this occurred at night this would not be a safe area to be in alone and for a female. I contacted AAA for a jump and also Taylor Ford so that I could bring the vehicle into them to look at the battery. They put the vehicle on their machine and stated nothing was wrong with the battery. I was advised to lock the doors when I park the vehicle after use this may resolve the issue. On [XXX] the battery was once again dead. I put the battery on a charger and contacted Taylor Ford about the situation. I brought it back and they stated I would have to make an appointment. The delay is over a month for me to get into them to look at the problem. The vehicle sends a message in Ford Pass that it is going into sleep mode which indicates that the battery is starting to weaken. This issue with the battery puts me in a situation which may eventually cause me to be stranded and at risk for my safety if this occurs in an isolated area. I have done research and found a lot of Ford vehicles are having the same issues with the battery and no resolution outside of replacing the battery with the same reoccurrences over time. Brakes are sticky. They will stick after coming to a stop, causing the vehicle to jump forward. Also, make an incredibly loud noise after sitting still for a few hours, and moving. The calipers seem to lock up. This is not a one time incident, it’s all the time!
My vehicle started with not accelerating and bogging down when going after a stop, it shakes/jerks from 1-3 gear. The rpm’s jump all over the place and at times it will be very low speed, jerking when trying to shift. I haven’t even had the car two years, I have two children and this happened at an intersection and scared us all. It had happened so many times I’m scared to drive it. I took it to a ford dealership, they were able to recreate the issue and said it may be the transmission. There are now warning lights on or anything indicating what the issue is. They told me to keep driving it until a code comes up or to wait till June when they can inspect it. It just keeps getting worst.
Battery low voltage. I saw NBC spot on recall. I paid for my battery because it was same issue. I work for government & travel at midnight through farms. It’s dark. Could not risk stall out. Parsons Ford - has details. Include mine in please. Pay back Parsons - me for credit on any future needs or a check back to me or them. It was over $300 part & labor. [XXX] [XXX] . Prefer email. I don’t answer phone from unknown numbers. Thanks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The automatic transmission was leaking (at about 12K miles) a heavy amount of fluid. I noticed a foul/burnt smell while driving with the heater/ac/vent on and that occurred around [XXX] I noticed a puddle of fluid on my driveway around [XXX]. The car is currently at Aaron Ford of Escondido, CA, and they confirmed the problem. The dealer is waiting for parts to arrive to repair/seal the transmission. My safety was put at risk because the leak could have rendered the transmission inoperable and could have caused a serious accident while driving. Only the dealer has inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lights/alerts on the dash. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Defective water pump caused coolant leak and the serp belt to deteriorate at 30,000 miles. Previous years of this vehicle have been recalled for this issue but mine was not recalled. The service department refused to fix the damage caused to my car under warranty. The water pump was replaced under warranty but I had to pay for the serp belt.
The contact owned a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while the son was driving at approximately 60 MPH, smoke was seen coming from under the hood. After driving over to the shoulder and exiting the vehicle, the vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported. During the incident, the vehicle was destroyed and later towed to a nearby towing yard. The cause of the fire was not determined. The manufacturer and dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact's wife owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while his wife was driving and making a left or a right turn, the steering wheel locked inadvertently. The contact stated that while forcefully turning the steering wheel, the steering wheel made an abnormally loud grinding sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 23S09; however, the vehicle was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
My car lost power on the highway. I took it to the dealership. They had the vehicle for 2 months and said it was repaired under warranty/recall. The same day that I received the car back, the same problem occurred. They kept it for a few days and said they could not determine the issue and released it back to me yesterday. This morning, it lost power again, while i was taking a left hand turn into oncoming traffic. I was almost t-boned. There is an huge safety issue here that is being brushed off and I’m afraid I will end up in a terrible accident.
I took the car in to get it checked for a grinding noise that was being made when I would pull out of a parking spot. They found that the rear differential went out and needs to be replaced. This is on a 2022 Bronco Sport with 41k miles. It is currently at the Ford dealership but the part is on back order with no eta.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for an oil change, the contact was informed that the engine oil casing and separator housing were cracked, causing oil to leak into the engine. The independent mechanic determined that the engine oil casing and separator housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V191000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 28,167.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the side door mirrors had degraded, impairing visibility while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown recall was performed; however, the side door mirrors were not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,200.
I got in my car to find a 12” long crack in the windshield. Upon inspection, I noticed a small chip in the top black part of the windshield that appears to have caused the crack. I had driven it the previous day and was not aware anything had hit the windshield. It has been extremely cold and the vehicle was exposed to snow. The crack is so large that it impedes the drivers line of sight and cannot be repaired. The windshield needs to be replaced and the ADAS needs recalibration. Clearly the part is faulty or the design is faulty, but this windshield is impacting safe driving.
The brakes make a squilling noise when backing up took to Aunto Nation Ford Marietta for several repairs was done still making loud noise driving through traffic. The vehicle was inspected by ford FSA inspection the brakes system still have a defect and loud noise.
We got a “service engine soon” warning stating “the vehicle has detected a concern with the evaporative emissions system” and that we need to “have the vehicle checked by a dealer ASAP”. With this, the dealership ordered a purge control line. This fixed the check engine light for about a week. Suddenly, we received the same warning and message. This time, the “Tech said its possible we hit something because under the vehicle the under shield has a hole in and it the canister valve which is what is causing the check engine light on. We cant get the part cover under warranty because of that. You would be looking at $638.00 not including tax.” Nothing was hit that we can note. The “shield” is a piece of felt. If this canister is so important, why have it “protected” by cloth?
The brakes have been a problem since I purchased the vehicle new a little over a year ago. They make a loud noise after sitting for too long, plus the calipers seem to "stick". There is a hesitation when I put the vehicle into R or D and have to put my foot on the gas in order for it to "lurch" into movement. I have mentioned this to my dealer service and we informed by them that this is just the way the brakes are on these particular vehicles. If that is indeed the case, then Ford has installed sub-par brakes on all the Bronco Sports.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the contact received an alert indicating that the engine was overheating, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and became aware that the coolant reservoir was empty. Upon opening the hood, there was white smoke coming from the engine, with a strong coolant odor coming from the vehicle. After adding coolant, the vehicle restarted but only drove a short distance before the coolant leaked out. The vehicle was driven to the residence, where a mobile mechanic inspected the vehicle and determined that it was not repairable and that the engine had cracked from overheating due to the loss of coolant. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to slow for traffic or for a traffic signal, there was an abnormal high-pitched sound coming from the brakes and the vehicle was vibrating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that additionally, while driving up a grade in the road, at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the engine was not revving while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear brake rotors needed to be turned. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failures reoccurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,600.
On [XXX] I began my drive from Miami, FL to SF, CA for my next travel nurse assignment. Three hours into my drive, I stop for gas and return to the highway. I remember accelerating to catch up to traffic and moving into the left lane. Then I remember abruptly seeing brake lights ahead, braking hard, and the collision warning system going off. I was braking for several seconds and it became clear to me that I was going to crash into the vehicle in front of me. Immediately upon impact, my Bronco Sport caught fire. I felt the heat. I smelled the fire and fumes. I saw people running towards me, yelling for me to get out of my burning car. The airbag went off and I sustained minor injury to my right hand. At that point, my priority was to locate my cat inside my perfectly packed vehicle with all of my most important possessions. I grabbed my cat, my phone, and my purse and escaped as flames overtook my SUV. The Nissan Rouge in front of me sustained some rear bumper damage but overall relatively minor exterior damages. I am in awe that what should have been a minor collision turned into escaping a burning car with my cat and watching my everything burn away. I struggle with PTSD from the accident. The Bronco was well-maintained. I had the recall repaired, along with oil change and tire rotation in November, prior to driving from Southern California to my home in Miami in early December. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The insurance company did not choose to pursue any investigation on why this happened. I’ve tried to find answers and have not been successful. The Ford dealership where I purchased the Bronco has been less than helpful and even normalized that this happens sometimes. Four months later and I’m still waiting to get refunded for all the extra extended warranties that I bought for a vehicle that I planned on having for a long time. No one seems concerned that my car caught fire instantly. This should not have happened. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
