2007 FORD EDGE ISSUES WITH ENGINE MISFIRING. I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND I WAS TOLD AT LEAST ONE COIL PACK BURNT OUT ALONG WITH THE PCM (POWER CONTROL MODULE) WHEN THE MISFIRING OCCURRED IT CAUSED MASSIVE SHAKING TO THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS A HUGE DISTRACTION. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD, IN 2016, THERE WERE OVER 3,000 VEHICULAR FATALITIES RELATED TO DISTRACTIONS WHILE DRIVING. INDEPENDENT MECHANIC RECOMMENDED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER FOR PCM REPLACEMENT AND RE-PROGRAMING. DEALER SAID VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 71,000 MILES.
DRIVING CAR ON CITY STREETS AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE WRENCH LIGHT, LOW TIRE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE BECAME SLUGGISH AS IF IT WAS GOING TO CUT OFF. THE CAR WAS HARD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE IT MAKES A HARD THUG/GRINDING NOISE WHEN PUTTING IN GEAR. FORD STATES IT NEEDS A OSS (OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR).
TAIL LIGHT SOCKETS BURNT. MELTING LIGHT BULBS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE REBUILT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM. THE PART WAS MANUFACTURED BY ULTRA POWER (PART NUMBER: RK620486). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM FRACTURED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER INSTALLATION. DUE TO THE FAILURE, ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 191,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

MY BLINKER LIGHT STARTED BLINKING REALLY FAST AND I KNEW THAT THAT INDICTATED THAT I HAD A BULB OUT. I SAW THAT IT WAS THE REAR LEFT AND PURCHASED A NEW BULB FOR IT. I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR HOW TO CHANGE THE BULB PROPERLY AND FOUND SEVERAL VIDEOS FOR HOW TO DO IT BUT THEY ALL SHOWED THAT THE BULB SOCKET HAD OVERHEATED AND WAS BURNT. SURE ENOUGH, WHEN I OPENED UP MINE TO CHANGE THE BULB, THE SOCKET THAT HOLDS THE BULB IS BURNT AND THE THE BULB WAS PARTIALLY MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I CHECKED OTHER SIDE AND IT IS THE SAME THING. THE SOCKET IS BURNT AND CHARRED AND THE BULB IS STUCK IN IT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN OVERHEATING ISSUE AND I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL - ACCORDING TO THE NOVEMBER 2017 REMEDY PROGRAM DOCUMENT CALLED THE STATE OF TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL, ALL VEHICLES SHOULD HAVE HAD RESOLUTION BY 2017 FOR AIRBAG DEFECT. ONLY GROUP 4 HAS UNTIL 2019 TO HAVE AIRBAG SITUATION REMEDIED. I OWN A 2007 FORD EDGE. LOCAL DEALER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS OR AN ESTIMATE ON WHEN THEY WOULD GET PARTS. PLEASE ADVISE NEXT STEPS FOR IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION. A 20 YEAR OLD CHILD DRIVES THIS CAR TO COLLEGE. PLEASE HELP US SO SHE DOESN'T LOSE HER LIFE LIKE THE INDIVIDUALS SEEN IN THE DOCUMENT AS RECENT AS JULY 2017.
WE HAVE A 2007 FORD EDGE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, SHE WAS APPROACHING HER EXIT WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THANK GOD SHE COULD PULL OVER AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR AGAIN, SHE SUCCEEDED. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. ABOUT 3 OR 4 MONTHS LATER, SHE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT OF A STORE WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN WITHOUT A WARNING. SHE GOT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE BLOCKING ALL TRAFFIC. A FEW MINUTES LATER IT STARTED AGAIN SEEMINGLY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. UNTIL TWO WEEKS AGO, SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE CAR SHUT OFF FOR THE THIRD TIME. AND FOR THE LAST WEEK, THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS STARTING. IT CRANKS FOR A FEW SECONDS LIKE IT HAS NO FUEL THEN STARTS. TODAY'S DATE 9/3/2018
HAD ENGINE COIL FAILURE AND PCM BURNT UP CAUSING $1650 IN DAMAGE REPAIRS. THIS WAS UNSAFE SINCE IT HAPPENED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THROUGH OUR TOWN AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HARD SHIFTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD WHILE STATIONARY AND SUFFERED A LOSS OF POWER OR ENGINE STALLING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE AND THE IGNITION COILS FAILED AND CAUSED A CYLINDER MISFIRE. IN ADDITION, THE IGNITION COILS MELTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE RECEIVED MANY NOTICES FROM FORD DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE ABOUT THE FIRST OF THIS YEAR AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM CONCERNING REPLACING THE AIR BAG IN QUESTION. I HAVE CALLED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL BE CONTACTED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PART(S) YET?

I BOUGHT MY CAR A FEW YEARS AGO FROM A USED CAR LOT. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS EVER SINCE. MY BREAKS KEEP GOING, MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND THE TRIMMING AROUND MY WINDSHIELD IS FALLING OUT. I'M AFRAID THE WINDSHIELD IS GOING TO FLY OFF. ALL I KEEP SEEING ATE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED, LUNGED, AND LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED OR NOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS I HAVE A SAFTEY RECALL FOR MY AIRBAGS. I AM IN THE DALLAS AREA AND I GOT IN CONTACT WITH ALL OF THE FORD DEALERSHIPS IN THE DALLAS AREA AND NON OF THEM HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I SHOULD NOT DRIVE WITH A PASSENGER BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO INFLATE IT COULD SEND METAL FRAGMENTS FLYING CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY AND DEATH. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR CONCERN AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT I USE MY VEHICLE DAILY FOR CARPOOL I NEED TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. HOWEVER THE FORD DEALERSHIPS HAVE SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHEN THEY WILL GET THEM, SPECIFICALLY NORTH CENTRAL FORD IN RICHARDSON WHICH IS MY DEALERSHIP. THIS IS CAUSE FOR MAJOR CONCERN FOR ME THAT I CANNOT GET THIS REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE JUNE 2016. IT IS JANUARY OF 2018 AND I'VE RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THE AIRBAGRECALL.COM WEBSITE SAYS "IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER, PLEASE CONTACT THE NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT: 1-888-327-4236 OR TTY: 1-800-424-9153 OR FILE AN ONLINE COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA." SO I'M FILING A COMPLAINT SINCE ALMOST TWO YEARS HAS PASSED WITH NO REMEDY.
"TAKATA RECALL" IN JANUARY 2018 WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE AIRBAGS IN OUR FORD EDGE WERE DEFECTIVE, AND WERE BEING RECALLED. IN ADDITION, WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT INFORMATION WOULD BE FORTHCOMING TO TAKE OUR VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALER. UNFORTUNATELY, WE DID NOT RECEIVE NOTIFICATION UNTIL MAY 2018. THIS MAY 2018 NOTIFICATION WAS VERY CLEAR BY INFORMING US THAT IF WE WERE TO DRIVE OUR VEHICLE WITHOUT A NEW AIRBAG REPLACEMENT WOULD NOT ONLY ENDANGER OUR WELL-BEING BUT COULD ALSO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY -- EVEN DEATH. SO, THEREFORE TAKE OUR VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY TO OUR LOCAL DEALER FOR PROMPT REPLACEMENT. THE NOTIFICATION ALSO INDICATED A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD BE SUPPLIED -- UP TO $30 PER DAY WHILE THE REPLACEMENT WAS TAKING PLACE AT OUR LOCAL DEALER. WE DID AS INSTRUCTED AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL DEALER WITH THIS INFORMATION WE RECEIVED IN MAY 2018. TO OUR DISAPPOINTMENT, WE WERE TOLD THERE ARE NO LOANER VEHICLES AVAILABLE BECAUSE PLACES LIKE ENTERPRISE (AND OTHER LOANER VEHICLE AGENCIES) WANTED MORE THAN $30 PER DAY. ENTERPRISE FILED A COMPLAINT LAW SUIT AGAINST FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR A HIGHER REIMBURSEMENT AMOUNT. THEREFORE, OUR LOCAL DEALER INFORMED US TO WAIT UNTIL THIS LAW SUIT BETWEEN ENTERPRISE IS SETTLED AND LOANERS BECOME AVAILABLE. SINCE MAY 2018 UNTIL CURRENT, WE HAVE CHECKED WITH OUT LOCAL DEALER AS TO THE PROGRESS BEING MADE BETWEEN FORD MOTOR CO. AND ENTERPRISE FOR A POSSIBLE LOANER. AS OF THIS DATE (OCT. 26, 2018), NO CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE. MEANWHILE, OUR FORD EDGE CANNOT BE USED BECAUSE OF THE IMPENDING DANGER.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER DECLINED TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED THE TAKATA RECALL LETTER FROM FORD STATING THAT WE SHOULD NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED. I CONTACTED FORD TO FIND OUT WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE BEST ESTIMATE FORD COULD PROVIDE WAS THAT POSSIBLY SOMETIME IN SPRING 2018, PARTS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE BUT THERE WERE NO GUARANTEES. I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT WE COULD NOT FUNCTION THAT LONG WITHOUT ALLOWING SOMEONE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT LOANER VEHICLES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE REPRESENTATIVE OFFERED TO HAVE THE SUPERVISOR CALL ME. THE SUPERVISOR REPEATED THE INFORMATION AND I REQUESTED TO BE CONTACTED BY SOMEONE IN MANAGEMENT. THE SUPERVISOR TOLD ME THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. I ASKED REPEATEDLY WHAT COULD BE DONE TO MOVE THE PROCESS ALONG FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS AND TO GET A LOANER CAR. AFTER REPEATED REQUESTS TO BE PLACED IN CONTACT WITH MANAGEMENT, THE SUPERVISOR REPEATEDLY SAID THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME. THIS WAS CASE # CAS13801731. I CHECKED WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER, CHAMPION FORD IN EDINBORO, PA WHO SAID THEY WOULD DO THE REPAIR WHEN THEY RECEIVE REPLACEMENT PARTS. HOWEVER, FORD HAS NOT GIVEN ANY DATES AS TO WHEN THEY CAN EXPECT TO RECEIVE PARTS.
"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE JULY 2016. I JUST RECEIVED A SECOND NOTICE DATED DECEMBER 2017. UNDER THE HEADING WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? ON THIS SECOND NOTICE, SAYS "DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT IN A CRASH AND CAUSE INJURIES OR DEATH." I OFTEN HAVE TO DRIVE WITH FIVE PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE. NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT AN OPTION AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE DIFFERENT VEHICLE. THIS NOTICE ALSO SAYS THAT REMEDY PARTS HAVE BEEN DELAYED. AS LONG AS IT IS TAKING FORD TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION, WHY ARE THEY NOT REQUIRED TO FURNISH LONER VEHICLES.
TAKATA RECALL FORD HAS SENT A LETTER THAT THEY ARE DEVELOPING "REMEDY" PARTS BUT THEY ARE NOT EXPECTED UNTIL SPRING 2018 AND UNTIL THEN NO ONE SHOULD RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT OVER 18 MOS LATER THERE IS STILL NO REPLACEMENT FOR MY VEHICLE OTHER THAN TO NOT USE THE PASSENGER SEAT. IS THE NHTSA AWARE OF THESE DELAYS? IN THE MEANTIME, I AM SURE YOU ARE AWARE THAT TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY AND THEIR NOTIFICATION OF THIS STATES I SHOULD GET MY AIRBAGS REPLACED ASAP. WELL I WOULD IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK EXPERIENCED A LEAK. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THE FUEL TANK HAD A HOLE. HUFF FORD (135 E MAIN ST, WYTHEVILLE, VA) DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD A HOLE IN IT AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BOLTS NEEDED TO BE REMOVED PRIOR TO THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. *TT *TR
THE ENGINE WENT OUT DUE TO A BAD WATER PUMP BUT NO WARNING SIGNS WERE PRESENT. IT ONLY OVERHEATED FOR 2 MINUTES AND WATER AND OIL MIXED WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO GO OUT COMPLETELY.

ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. WENT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO GO TO AN APPOINTMENT AND NOTICED THE ENGINE RAN DIFFERENT. TAKING CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSES, BUT FROM ARTICLES ONLINE THERE APPEARS TO BE A PCM & COILS, BUT NO RECALL AVAILABLE FOR THIS REPORTED COMPLAINT. THE CAR SHAKES WHILE I DROVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND LOCAL ROADS AND WHILE STATIONARY.
