TAKATA RECALL ISSUES 6/10/2016. PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH FORD TO TAKE CARE OF RECALL, YET HONDA SENT NOTICES OUT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WITH RESOLUTION. I ONLY KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY BROTHER OWNS A 2008 CIVIC AND THE INFORMATION GETS MAILED TO MY RESIDENCE. I DO HAVE A TODDLER IN A CAR SEAT, AND I'D RATHER NOT HAVE SOMETHING FLYING AT HIM IN AN ACCIDENT AND INJURING HIM. CHANGING VEHICLES IS NOT AN OPTION.
I RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS IN JUNE 2016. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE RELEASE FROM FORD FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. I RECEIVED A POSTCARD IN THE MAIL (NOV 2017) FROM T.K. HOLDINGS INC. IN REGARDS TO CHAPTER 11 FOR TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WOULD BE REPLACING MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. AGAIN, THEY GAVE ME THE EXACT SAME RESPONSE AS I GOT LAST YEAR. MY CONCERN IS THAT I AM DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS THAT COULD CAUSE BODY INJURY OR WORSE, DEATH, IF I AM INVOLVED IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. I LOVE MY VEHICLE BUT WANT THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. SECONDLY, HOW DOES THIS AFFECT THE RESALE OF MY VEHICLE? WHO DO I NEED TO TALK TO?

TAKATA INFLATORS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE AIRBAG, AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TO GO AWAY.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED PRIORITY FORD (7520 NORTH MILITARY HIGHWAY, NORFOLK, VA 23518; 757-419-2500) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO AUTHORIZE REPAIRS AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND NOTICE ONCE THE REMEDY BECAME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384, DATED JULY 2016, MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT WICHITA, MEL HAMILTON FORD TO GET IT REPLACED, THEY SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPLACE THIS. NOW MY AIRBAG ALARM IS ON, NEED TO GET IT REPLACED ASAP.
TAKATA RECALL: NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 16V384 WAS ISSUED JUNE 1, 2016. EIGHTEEN MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL WAS ISSUED, THE MANUFACTURER (FORD) HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. FURTHER, I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY TK HOLDINGS, INC., VIA U.S. MAIL THAT TAKATA CORPORATION HAS FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY IN THE UNITED STATES. THE NOTICE STATES, IN PART, "...TAKATA-MANUFACTURED AIRBAG INFLATORS...ARE OR MAY BE DEFECTIVE AND COULD RUPTURE, CREATING A RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. THE NOTICE ADVISES ME TO VISIT WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM TO SEE IF I AM AT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH...BASED ON THE NHTSA RECALL NOTICE, I AM AT RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH WITH REGARDS TO THE TAKATA AIRBAGS INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE MANUFACTURER OF MY VEHICLE, FORD MOTOR COMPANY, HAS NOT REMEDIED THIS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER AND BASED ON THE TAKATA BANKRUPTCY FILING, I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS SAFETY RECALL WILL GO UN-ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAGS HAVE NOT DEPLOYED. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE SAFETY ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED.
TAKATA RECALL - THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY TYPE OF CAR SINCE JUNE 2016, AND FORD MOTOR CO. STILL HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE NECESSARY PARTS TO THEIR DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS IN ORDER TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. AFTER A YEAR-AND-A-HALF, THIS SEEMS LUDICROUS. WHEN CAN CONSUMERS EXPECT THEIR CARS TO BE REPAIRED AND MADE SAFE?
TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS NOW BEEN WELL OVER A YEAR SINCE I WAS INFORMED THAT MY AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE AND LIFE-THREATENING. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MY AIRBAG CANNOT BE REPLACED RIGHT NOW. I REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BECAUSE I FEEL UNSAFE IN MY VEHICLE AND MY FAMILY CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE A PASSENGER SEAT. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT OVER A YEAR LATER NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. FORD SHOULD HAVE SUPPLIED ME WITH A RENTAL VEHICLE, LOANER VEHICLE, OR SOME KIND OF REPLACEMENT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. I LIVE IN A ZONE A HIGH-HUMIDITY AREA. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT NO ONE HAS OFFERED MY FAMILY ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE.

I RECENTLY GOT A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE FRONT RIGHT AIR BAG AND WHEN I TRIED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE INTO GET IT FIXED THEY SAID THE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR MONTHS I DO NOT WANT TO RISK METAL SHRAPNEL BEING EXPLODED IF MY VEHICLE IS IN ANY SORT OF COLLISION WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY. IS THERE ANY REMEDY FOR THIS? CAN WE GET MY VEHICLE AIR BAG SAFE SOONER?
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2016 WITH A OPEN RECALL, THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT OR FIX PRIOR TO SELLING IT. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. THEY ARE A GM DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE. THIS INCIDENT IN QUESTION HAPPENED ON 11-04-17 THE CAR WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER THE CAR, THE GAS TANK IS WHAT WAS LEAKING AND THERE HAS BEEN A OPEN RECALL ON IT SINCE 2014.
TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL IN MARCH,2017 AND NOW RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE COMPANY FILING BANKRUPTCY CHAPTER11. SO I CALLED FORD AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR FOR MY VEHICLE. HOW LONG DO THEY HAVE TO COMPLY WITH A RECALL? I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN INCIDENT BUT FEAR WITH WINTER AND ROAD CONDITIONS SOME THING MIGHT HAPPEN.

CONTACTED DEALER AL PACKER IN WEST PALM BEACH, FL (561 289 6550) TALKED TO KIM AND THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN PARTS ARE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL IS WELL UNDERWAY BUT WE ARE NOT YET ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS AIRBAGS. OUR LIVES ARE AT RISK AND WE HAVE ALREADY WAITED MONTHS SINCE FIRST NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE RECALL.

IT IS NOW OCT 19, 2017 & WE HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM FORD. ARE THEY GOING TO WAIT TILL WE ARE INJURED TO DO SOMETHING?

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN ON OUR ROAD (A BUSY ONE) AND THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. SHE HAD TO PULL OVER WITH CARS ZOOMING BY HER AND SHUT OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON. ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING, GO TO FIND OUT THE COILS AND PCM JUST WENT OUT. LOOKED ONLINE AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
BRAKE BOOSTER IS FAILING. I AM EXPERIENCING POOR BRAKING, AND HISSING NOISE WHEN I DEPRESS BRAKE. THERE IS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02 BUT MY VIN DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE PART OF THE PROGRAM. LOOKING AT VARIOUS FORUMS, THIS APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE WITH SEVERAL YEARS OF FORD EDGE VEHICLES IMPACTED. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA LOOK INTO THE MATTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS CONTACTED WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 114,000. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V024000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE HYDRAULIC BRAKES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT COULD BE A VALVE OR A BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER (CHAPMAN FORD, 9371 ROOSEVELT BLVD, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19114, PHONE NUMBER: (215) 698-7000) STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TAKATA RECALL HAVE NOT REC'D ANY TYPE OF RECALL REGARDING THE PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR OVER 1 YEAR.
TAKATA RECALL. FORD FAILED TO NOTIFY US ABOUT THE RECALL. FORD DEALER HAS TOLD US THEY DON'T HAVE THE PIECE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. MORE THAN A YEAR HAS PASSED, AND THE REPAIR HASN'T STARTED. FORD DEALER DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THEY CAN DO THE REPAIR, OR IF IT WILL BE REPAIRED AT ALL.

MY 2007 FORD EDGE IS HAVING THE SAME BRAKE ISSUES AS DESCRIBED IN THE FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02 BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUE FOR FORD EDGE 2011-2013. WHY ISNT THIS EXPANDED. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I ALMOST COULDNT STOP MY CAR TWICE TODAY! TWICE! ITS SO SCARY TO BE PRESSING DOWN ON IT AND NOTHING HAPPENING. IT HAS A HISSING SOUND AS WELL. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS AT 20 MILES AN HOUR, THANK GOODNESS IT WASNT FASTER!
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CLASSIC FORD LINCOLN DEALER OF COLUMBIA LOCATED AT 177 GREYSTONE BLVD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210 WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASH LIGHTS ALL DAY ON, SPEED ODOMETER QUIT AND CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR. GEARS GRINDING WHEN TRYING THE PUT IN DRIVE. POWERTRAIN WRENCH LIGHT WILL NEVER T GO OFF. ALL THIS AND STILL OWE $6000 ON CAR AT 90000 MILES.
A HISSING SOUND WHEN BRAKES WERE PRESS DONE WHEN SPONGY. THEN GOT EXTREMELY HARD TO PRESS. STILL MAKES HISSING OR AIR SOUND DIAPHRAGM AND BRAKE BOOSTER I'VE BEEN TOLD. FORD COVERS SOME MODELS FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT MINE AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS

MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE REMEDY AND PART WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED FOR MONTHS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO PRESS, I'M BASICALLY HAVING TO STAND UP ON THEM. THEN THE CAR STILL MOVES FORWARD A LITTLE. I CANNOT LET UP OFF THE BRAKE AT ALL AT A STOPLIGHT BECAUSE THE CAR BEGINS TO ROLL.
THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED A MONTH AGO, IT WAS A SIMILAR ISSUE THAT RESOLVED ITSELF WITHIN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. BUT THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED 7 DAYS AGO, IT LASTED LONGER AND UNFORTUNATELY I HAD MY 14 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR. I WAS PULING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE ONE LATE AFTERNOON AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FORWARD AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS REVING VERY LOUDLY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BARELY MOVING. WHENEVER I WOULD COME TO A LIGHT AND STOP OR SLOW DOWN TO TURN AND THEN TRY TO INCREASE MY SPEED I NOTICED THAT IT WOULD BE REVING SO LOUDLY AND BARELY MOVING AT FIRST, BUT THEN AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS IT WOULD START TO MOVE A LITTLE FASTER - BUT NOT AS FAST AS IT USUALLY MOVES WHEN I PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. I ALSO NOTICED ALONG THE WAY THAT MY SPEDOMETEER WAS NOT MOVING. IT WAS STUCK ON 0MPH THE WHOLE TIME. THEN ABOUT 5 MINUTES INTO THIS HORROR, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND ALTHOUGHH I HAD MY SEATBELT ON AND I HAD NO FRONT PASSENGER, THE SETBELT LIGHT CAME ON TOO. I MANAGED TO PULL THE CAR OVER NEAR MY HOME AND MOVED INTO A SPACE IN FRONT OF A NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE. WHEN I WENT TO BACK UP AND CORRECT MY PARKING THE CAR MADE SUCH A LOUD CLUNK SOUND. I THEN TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RIGHT THEN A MESSAGE FLASHED ON THE DASH BOARD ABOUT 'CHECK TIRE PRESSURE' OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BUT MY TIRES WERE PERFECTLY AND PROPERLY INFLATED. THE FIRST INCIDENT SHOOK ME A LITTLE BUT IT WAS ONLY ME IN THE CAR AND I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE, (ALTHOUGH UNLIKELY), I MADE A MISTAKE AND WAS USING THE WRONG GEAR TO MANUVER. BUT AFTER THIS SECOND INCIDENT (ESPECIALLY WITH MY BABY IN THE CAR) I HAVE NOT TOUCHED THE CAR SINCE. I BOUGHT IT AS A FAMILY VEHICLE, AND IF IT COULD LEAD TO ME OR MY FAMILY BEING KILLED ON THE ROAD, THERE IS NO POINT. I THANK GOD THAT I AVOID HIGHWAYS BECAUSE I COULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
MY TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO BLOW SOON. I HAVE A LOW INCOME AND DOUBT MY ABILITY TO PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT. I WOULDN'T BE WRITING THIS THOUGH IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE BEING AFFECTED BY IT. AFTER SEARCHING THROUGH FORUMS AND REVIEWS, IT WOULD SEEM MANY PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUE. WHILE IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE WILL SKIP GEARS AND REV UP WHILE I'M SLOWING DOWN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. ANY HELP OR INSIGHT WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
BRAKE BOOSTER: HEARD HISSING SOUND UPON BRAKING. WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THEN BRAKES BEGAN TO FAIL AND CAR STARTED TO MOVE AGAIN. HAD TO PRESS HARDER ON THE BRAKE TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. THIS HAPPENED TWO DAYS IN A ROW. DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A 2007 FORD EDGE SE AWD THAT I PURCHASED IN 2009. I REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER IN 2010 AND NOW AGAIN IN 2017 IT HAS FAILED AGAIN. I WANT FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO RECALL THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS REASON. I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE FIRST REPLACEMENT AND WANT THEM TO COVER THE CURRENT REPLACEMENT. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I COULD'VE GOTTEN INTO TWO CAR ACCIDENTS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!
TAKATA RECALL...HAVE PHONED FORD DEALER FOR YEARS AND THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS....DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE DIES AND THEN COMPLAIN?
