THE VEHICLE WAS IDENTIFED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V682000 AND WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ON AUGUST 22, 2016 TO HAVE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS COMPLETED. A STRONG FUEL ODOR WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER LESS THAN 30 MINUTES, THE FORD DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE ONLY REPAIRS THAT WERE COMPLETED WERE FOUR NEW BOLTS (I HAVE THE INVOICE FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP SHOWING ONLY FOUR NEW BOLTS WERE INSTALLED). THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT REPLACED, NO CORROSION PREVENTATIVE WAS APPLIED TO THE TANK, AND NO INSPECTION REPORT WAS PROVIDED. STARTING IN AUGUST 2017, A STRONG FUEL ODOR STARTED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD SO MUCH CORROSION IT WAS STARTING TO SPLIT IN ONE CORNER. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT RECOMMENDED A NEW FUEL TANK, AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNTIL THE SAFETY RECALL AND IT WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THE NEW FUEL TANK.
THE COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING ENGINE COILS TO BURN. FORD DID NOT EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR THIS COMMON DEFECT. BUT FORD DID EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR THE SUBSEQUENT MALFUNCTION OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHICH WAS CAUSED BY THE 1ST MALFUNCTION DESCRIBED.
DEFECTIVE POWER CONTROL MODULE ON FORD FROM THESE YEARS CAUSES ENGINE TO STALL, RUN POORLY AND CAUSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AFFECTING THE STEERING, BRAKES AND TRANSMISSION. THIS EXTREMELY COMMON FORD DEFECT CAN CREATE A POTENTIALLY DEADLY VEHICLE CONTROL FAILURE AT HIGHWAY SPEED.
2014 MY 2007 FORD EDGE JERKED AND REDUCED IN SPEED WHILE TRYING TO GO UPHILL IN MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC LESS THAN 25 MPH. I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON & IT WAS GOOD FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY- THIS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY AUTHORIZED MECHANIC (OF OVER 17 YEARS) WITHIN A WEEK OF THAT INCIDENT & THEY REPLACED SOME COMPONENT ASSOCIATED WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WORKED FINE FOR A LITTLE OVER 18 MONTHS. 2016 IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE SAME AS BEFORE IN MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC EXCEPT WITH THE JERK & AUTO DEACCELERATION THERE WAS A LOUD *BUMP AS IF SOMEONE REAR-ENDED ME. I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE THEN BACK ON & IT DID FINE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES THEN IT HAPPENED A 2ND TIME SO AGAIN I PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER TURN OFF THE VEHICLE THEN BACK ON & IT IS FINE-ALMOST AS IF THE VEHICLE RESETS WHEN YOUR TURN IT OFF THEN BACK ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC, THE OWNER IS WHO USUALLY DIAGNOSIS MY CAR IS ON VACATION OUT OF THE COUNTRY--UGH. AFTER EXPLAINING THE INCIDENT ONE MECHANIC TEST DRIVES IT FOR A COUPLE MINS THEN SAYS THE TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CONSIDERING THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGED, & VERY WELL MAINTAINED ON A REGULAR BASIS I OPTED FOR A SECOND OPINION, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, ODOR, SMOKE, LEAKAGE OR ANYTHING THAT INDICATES SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSMISAION. JUST THE JERK WITH DEACCELERATION & MAYBE HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE DURING THIS INCIDENT. THE SECOND SHOP'S DIAGNOSTICS CAME BACK SHOWING NO ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOTHING. TO YOU FORD I SAY I'VE WATCHED YOUTUBE VIDEOS & READ SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, OBVIOUSLY A RECALL IS NEEDED, PLEASE WATCH YOUTUBE AND DO MORE RESEARCH REGARDING YOUR PRODUCT THAT IS AFFECTING YOUR CUSTOMER BASE.

TAKATA RECALL...RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR CO JULY 2016 WITH NO SPECIFIC DATE WHEN PARTS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. FORD CORPORATE AND DEALER GAVE SAME RESPONSE OF "DO NOT KNOW". WE ARE CONCERNED IF THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE. NO ONE AT FORD OR DEALERSHIP SEEMS ABLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING GARAGE TO GO TO THE GYM FOR AN HOUR. I COME BACK TO FIND THE QUARTER WINDOW (TRUCK SIDE WINDOW) ON THE DRIVERS SIDE SHATTERED FOR NO REASON AT ALL. I MADE AN INSURANCE CLAIM, BUT I STILL HAVE TO PAY $500.00 OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT FORD SHOULD PAY FOR.

"TAKATA RECALL" - HAVE BEEN CALLING FORD DEALER FOR OVER A YEAR TO GET THE AIRBAG RECALL SCHEDULED. THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T HAVE PART AND NOW DON'T RETURN MY CALL NO ACCIDENT HAS OCCURRED YET. VERY FRUSTRATED NO ONE WILL HELP ME OR RETURN CALL BECAUSE THEY CANT GET THE PARTS NEEDED - MEANWHILE I TAKE A RISK EVERY TIME DRIVING MY CAR

SAME COMPLAINT AS EVERYONE ELSE REGARDING WRENCH, LOW ACCERLERATION, VIBRATION, SHIFT, HESISTATION ALL OF A SUDDEN AND ALL BEING RANDOM IN AND OUT. I FILE A COMPLAINT BUT NOT SEEING IT LISTED THEREFORE BRIEFLY RESTATING. ALL OF THIS WHILE DRIVING.I HAVE DIAGNOSIC FROM MECHANIC AVAILABLE. RECALL NEEDED.
POWER TRAIN ISSUE WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 55MPH VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECREASED IN SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. WRENCH CAME ON AND CAR HESISTATED TO PICK UP SPEED AGAIN, FORTUNATELY CAR BEHIND ME DIDNT RA. TRIED TO ACCELERATE BUT COULDNT. JUST HIT 90,000 MILEAGE. WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF A PT RECALL. TOOK CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSIS AND INFORMED POWER TRAIN FAULT TO LOWER ACCERATION ISSUE CALL DEALERSHIP. SAME FAILURE LISTED FOR RECALL. CAR ALSO STARTED TO VIBRATE AND NOW THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES AND GOES RANDOMLY, SHIFTING GOES IN AND OUT RANDOMLY AS WELL. I HAVE A COPY OF MY DIAGNOSIS FROM MECHANIC SHOP, NO ABILITY TO UPLOAD IT. I CAN FAX IT.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN GETTING PRIOR NOTICES FROM FORD (AUTO NATION IN SCOTTSDALE AND OTHER PLACES) I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT IT AND KEPT GETTING TOLD NO WORRIES WE WILL NOTIFY YOU WHEN RECALL PART AVAILABLE. THIS IS NOW BEEN GOING ON OVER A YEAR NO CALL THAT PART IS IN AND BEING TOLD NOW IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I DRIVE OVER 140+ MILES PER DAY AT LEAST 5 DAYS PER WEEK AND SOMETIME HAVE PASSENGERS. BEING TOLD NOW DON'T LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BUT DRIVE INTO DEALERSHIP (WHICH IS AWAYS) THEY CAN PUT ME INTO RENTAL BUT I WOULD NEED TO DRIVE BACK HOME WITH RENTAL AND MY VEHICLE, PARK MY VEHICLE AT MY HOUSE THEN DRIVE BACK WHEN PART COMES IN? I CURRENTLY HAVE NO PLACE TO STORE MY VEHICLE AND A RENTAL WITHOUT MY HOA GETTING UPSET. THEY HAVE NO ETA AND THIS HAS BEEN TAKING A LONG TIME ALREADY WITH VERY LITTLE (MISLEADING BY SAYING ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOTHING ABOUT FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS UNTIL NOW). IT IS OCTOBER 2017, AND THERE ARE STILL NO PARTS FOR THIS RECALL, AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN IN THE WORLD THEY WILL BE IN IF THEY EVER WILL BE IN. AN AIRBAG IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT YOU, NOT CAUSE POTENTIAL INJURY OR DEATH. WE DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THIS SEAT AS WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO WORK PROPERLY OR NOT. THE DRIVER OR ANYONE ELSE COULD STILL BE IN DANGER IF THE AIRBAG GOES OFF. THAT MEANS FOR 15 MONTHS THAT WE CAN NOT USE OUR CAR LIKE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE DRIVER IS CONSTANTLY CHAUFFEURING EVERYONE AROUND. IF I GO SOMEWHERE WITH MY HUSBAND, I HAVE TO SIT IN THE BACK SEAT. I CAN'T SELL THE CAR BECAUSE NO ONE IS GOING TO WANT TO DEAL WITH THE SAME SITUATION, AND I CANNOT COMFORTABLY SELL IT WITHOUT DISCLOSING THE RECALL. IT STATES "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" UNDER RECALL STATUS. THEN IT STATES "IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER, PLEASE CONTACT THE NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT: 1-888-327-4236 OR TTY: 1-800-424-9153 OR FILE AN ONLINE COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA." CALLING THIS NUMBER GETS YOU ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THE ONLY THING TO DO IS FILE A COMPLAINT. FIFTEEN MONTHS WITH NO PART TO FIX A RECALL IS BEYOND A TIMELY MANNER. I'M TIRED OF CALLING EVERY MONTH TO BE TOLD NO PARTS ARE IN, AND BEING TOLD YOU WILL GET A LETTER IN THE MAIL WHEN THEY ARE IN AND YOU CAN CALL AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. I WANT A REPAIR OR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS.

WHEN OPERATING THE TURN SIGNALS IN EITHER DIRECTION THE REAR LIGHT WOULD NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST, AND THEN PERMANENTLY. UPON PULLING THE REAR BULB HOUSING, I NOTICED THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET WAS BURNT IN APPEARANCE. OPON TRYING TO REMOVE THE BULBS, ONE OF THE RETAINING TABS ON ONE SIDE BROKE OFF. INSIDE THE SOCKETS (BOTH SIDES) WERE FULL OF WHITISH CORROSION. THE MAIN ISSUE HERE IS TWOFOLD: IF YOU LOOK ONLINE ON THE FORD EDGE FORUM, YOU WILL SEE MANY, MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. SECONDLY, THIS PRESENTS A FIRE AND DRIVING HAZARD. KEEP IN MIND MY WIFE'S CAR DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 70,000 MILES ON IT YET AND IS GARAGE KEPT. SHE DOES NOT RIDE THE BRAKES AND TURN SIGNALS ARE USED AS OFTEN AS NEEDED...HAZARDS HARDLY EVER USED. I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 NEW SOCKETS AND BULBS WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE JULY 2016 TO GET OUR CAR FIXED AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT NO FORD EDGES HAVE BEEN FIXED, MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT RECENTLY AND THE BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE IN THE PAST YEAR HAD BACK SURGERY, OPEN HEART SURGERY AND SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST ON NEW YEARS DAY. I'M TELLING YOU ALL THIS BECAUSE WE NEED THIS CAR EVERY WEEK FOR DR. VISITS IN TULSA AND I'M TIRED OF JUST BEING TOLD BY BILL KNIGHT FORD THAT WE'RE WAITING ON PARTS. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE SO MANY LAW SUITS OVER RECALLS. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME ATTRIBUTED TO THIS, EXPECT ANOTHER ONE. I'M DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING FOR MY FAMILY. I TALKED TO A MAN YESTERDAY THAT TOOK HIS LATEST LETTER BY HIS DEALER AND THEY ORDERED AIR BAGS FOR 2 FORD PICK-UPS SINCERELY, [XXX]. "TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY, 2016 OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAVE CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY TWICE TO TRY TO GET AN UPDATE WITH NO HELP WHATSOEVER. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2016 JUST MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS RECALL AND NOW NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SIDE! THIS VEHICLE HAS LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR, I WANT IT FIXED.....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

TOOK CAR TO LOCAL FORD DEALER, WITH AN APPOINTMENT, FOR RECALL 14R02. CELLA FORD, NEW BERN, NC. THEY HAD CAR A WEEK. DID NOTHING, BUT TOLD ME THE CAR WAS FIXED.

WE GOT A NOTICE IN JULY 2016 STATING THAT THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVEN OF A CRASH. WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE COMPANY IF THEY HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ALL OF THE TIME WITH MY CHILD.

ARE THEY JUST WAITING TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE AND AMOUNT OF LAWSUITS VERSES THE COST OF JUST FIXING THE ISSUE?
