TAKATA RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED IN JULY 2016 AND VISALIA FORD DEALER SAYS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART.
TAKATA RECALL. MY COMPLAINT IS IT SEEMS LIKE THIS RECALL ISN'T BEING COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER. I RECEIVED THE RECALL IN JULY 2016, CONTACTED FORD IN OCTOBER 2016 AND AS OD DECEMBER 2016 STILL NO ACTION. THAT IS NEARLY SIX MONTHS. I BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING THAT COULD RUPTURE AND SEND METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING OCCUPANTS SHOULD NOT BE TAKING THIS LONG TO REPAIR. ANY INFORMATION AND A TIME LINE FOR REPAIR WOULD BE GREAT. TAKATA RECALL***" RECEIVED NOTICE IN JULY 2016 THAT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, FOR A DEFECTIVE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR. AT FIRST THE NOTICE, AND THEN SEVERAL SUBSEQUENT CALLS TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY HEADQUARTERS, ALL STATED IT WAS SAFE TO CARRY A FRONT PASDENGER. AS OTHERS MONTHS AND MONTHS PASSED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. I MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER OVER THE 18 MONTH PERIOD, REQUESTING AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPLACEMENT. THEY ACTUALLY TREATED ME AS IF I WAS STUPID FOR CALLING WITHOUT HAVING AN OFFICIAL NOTICE TO REPLACE THE PART. FINALLY I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE SAYING PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE SPRING, BUT ALSO STAYING "DO NOT DRIVE WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT." FORTUNATELY AND UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAVE NOT USED THE VEHICLE WITH A FRONT PASSENGER. SO, FOR THE PAST 21 MONTHS I HAVE HAD ONLY A 1 PASSENGER VEHICLE, WHICH US IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAS ONLY 88,000 MILES ON IT. THIS HAS BEEN AN UNBELIEVABLE, RIDICULOUS SITUATION FOR ALL.
ON APPROXIMATELY 7/6/2016, WHILE IN MOTION, TRAVELING NORTH ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE -I-55 NORTH, ON THE 2-LANE OVERPASS AT I-55 & MCLEMORE, 18 WHEELER WAS TO THE RIGHT AND I WAS BEHIND ANOTHER MOTORIST IN LINE AND TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH WITH A LINE OF VEHICLES BEHIND, IT WAS AFTER WORK RUSH HOUR 4:45PM; WHEN AS I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS, SEEMED TO IT LOSE POWER, DECELERATES IN THE MIDDLE OF ON GOING TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED AND THEN STAYED ILLUMINATED, I COULD NOT ACCELERATE IN ORDER GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND TRAFFIC WAS AT A VERY FAST FLOW. MY SYNC SYSTEM SURGED, A-C STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR, THE VEHICLE STARTED "MISSING" BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT SHUT OFF. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ADVANCE AUTO PARTS STORE AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAD A MISFIRE IN 3 OF THE IGNITION COILS, BOUGHT REPLACEMENT COILS AND HAD ALL 6 OF THEM REPLACED. START THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS CLEARED BUT CAME RIGHT BACK, THE VEHICLE IS STILL MISS FIRING ON THE EXACT SAME COILS THIS TIME ALONG WITH THE PCM. OUT OF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AT THE MOMENT AND IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE OUT OF $3000 TO FORD FOR AN ISSUE THAT THEY KNOW IS FAULTY WITHIN THE DESIGN OF THE COMPUTER. WE'VE ALREADY PAID $30,000 FOR THE VEHICLE, WHY WOULD FORD NOT RECALL AND REPAIR THESE ISSUES IF THEY ARE AWARE OF IT????

WHEN TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, A NEED FOR RAPID BRAKING RESULTED IN A MOMENTARY "HARD" BRAKE PEDAL BEFORE DISENGAGING CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC SIGNAL WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, PEDAL GRADUALLY SINKS TOWARDS FLOORBOARD AND FEELS SOFT AND "MUSHY" ATTEMPT AT BRAKING WHILE DRIVING ALONG AT STEADY SPEED (50MPH), THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND RESISTANT RESULTING IN DELAYED BRAKING ACTION. POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENT.

TAKATA RECALL - NOTICE SENT JULY 2016 - STATES PASSENGER AIRBAG, IF INFLATED MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH! ALMOST NOVEMBER AND NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX! WILL NOT CARRY A PASSENGER IN MY CAR UNTIL FIXED!! WHAT IS DATE OF REPAIR???
TAKATA RECALL: HELLO, I AM SUBMITTING MY SECOND COMPLAINT ON BEHALF OF MY DAUGHTERS CAR WHICH HAS A PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG RECALL. I KEEP SEEING ON NBC NIGHTLY NEWS AS WELL AS OTHERS THAT THE CARS THAT WILL BE GETTING AIR BAGS REPLACED FIRST ARE THOSE IN THE SOUTH WHERE ITS HOT AND HUMID. THIS WEATHER IS NOT GOOD FOR THESE RECALLED AIR BAGS. WELL MY DAUGHTER GOES TO COLLEGE IN GAINESVILLE FLORIDA WHERE ITS 100 DEGREES AND 90% HUMIDITY IN THE SUMMERS. SHE HAS ALREADY SPENT A SUMMER UP THERE WITH THE RECALLED AIR BAG AND IS GOING TO SPEND ANOTHER SUMMER THERE WORKING. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY AS WELL AS HER YOUNG ADULT PASSENGERS. COLLEGE STUDENTS ALWAYS HAVE MULTIPLE PASSENGERS IN THEIR CARS AND THIS WORRIES ME SO MUCH. THE SAFETY OF HER FRIENDS IS IN JEOPARDY. JUST BECAUSE ITS HER CAR DOESN'T MEAN SHE IS NOT A PASSENGER IN HER OWN CAR. THERE ARE MANY TIMES SOMEONE ELSE WAS DRIVING AND SHE IS NOW THE PASSENGER. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO TO EXPEDITE THE REPAIR OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IN HER CAR. SHE LIVES IN AN AREA THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THESE AIR BAGS ALREADY REPAIRED. THIS COMING JULY WILL BE 1 YR SINCE WE RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER. I AM AFRAID THAT A LAW SUIT WILL BE COMING WHEN SOMEONE GETS INJURED AS I HAVE SUBMITTED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AS WELL AS MANY MANY PHONE CALLS TO FORD AND NHTSA. IT SHOULD NOT BE TAKING THIS LONG ESPECIALLY WHERE THE CAR IS. I HOPE TO BE RECEIVING THE LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT HER NEW AIR BAG IS READY TO BE INSTALLED AND TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER. SAFETY RECALL 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. JULY 2016 LETTERS WERE SENT TO FORD EDGE OWNERS. THE LETTER STATES, "THE MOTOR COMPANY HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXSISTS IN YOU VEHICLE, WITH THE VIN SHOWN ABOVE." I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DELEAR ON FEBRUARY 2, 2017 TO GET STATUS AS TO WHEN THIS PROBLE WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WERE STILL WAITING FOR FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO GIVE THEM THE OK TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS OF THAT TIME THEY HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM. IT IS NOT APRIL 2017 AS MY VEHICLE STILL HAS AN ISSUE. I NEED HELP RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM.

TAKATA RECALL WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A TAKATA PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG RECALL FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN JULY OF 2016. WE WERE TOLD BY OUR LOCAL DEALER THAT NO AIRBAGS WERE AVAILABLE. WE HAVE CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE TIME SINCE THEN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD REPEATEDLY THAT NO AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE. LAST YEAR WE WERE TOLD THE AIRBAGS WERE EXPECTED IN THE FINAL QUARTER OF 2016. WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AS OF 10/2017. A CALL TO THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN 11/2016 WAS ANSWERED WITH JUST DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE AND WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE. WE REALLY WISH TO HAVE THIS AIRBAG REPLACED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED. WAITING OVER A YEAR TO HAVE THIS REPLACED SEEMS LIKE AN UNREASONABLE LENGTH OF TIME TO WAIT FOR THIS REPAIR.

A REPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY CAR AND WHERE I GET MY CAR SERVICED ONCE A MONTH SINCE JULY OF 2016 AND SPOKEN WITH MIKE ROMANO WHEN HE WILL TAKE MY CALL. RICHMOND FORD LINCOLN. 4600 WEST BROAD STREET. I HAVE BEEN MISLEAD, LIED TO, CALLS NOT RETURNED AS PROMISED. FOR FIFTEEN MONTHS I HAVE AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE IN WHICH THE PASSESNGER SIDE CANNOT BE USED. TO DO SO WOULD BE LIKE PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH SOMEONE'S LIFE. I NEED AS I HAVE FOR THE LAST 15 MONTHS FOR MY CAR TO BE REPAIRED AND SOMEONE TO TAKE THIS VERY SCARY RECALL SERIOUSLY.

TAKATA RECALL CANNOT GET REPLACEMENT PARTS. VERY DANGEROUS.
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION FROM FORD IN JULY 2016 STATING "WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, FORD WILL SEND A LETTER TO INFORM YOU THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND TO...SCHEDULE A REPAIR." IT IS NOW NOV 2017 AND NO NOTIFICATION HAS EVER BEEN RECEIVED BACK FROM FORD. ACCORDING TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WEBSITE, A REPAIR REMEDY FOR OUR VIN IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE...MEANING WE ARE STILL "AT RISK" AND HAVE BEEN FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTIFICATION. HOW CAN THIS BE ALLOWED TO BE ACCEPTABLE????

THOSE CONTACTS WERE A RESULT OF AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL LETTER FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY, RECEIVED IN JULY 2016. EACH TIME, I WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO AIRBAGS AVAILABLE YET. AS OF TODAY, 11/7/17, THE DEALER'S SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AGAIN STATED THAT FORD STILL HAS NOT IDENTIFIED A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS, NOR HAS FORD MADE ANY AIRBAGS AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE TAKATA REPLACEMENT. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS IN MY 2008 FORD EDGE. ALSO, IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT I CANNOT SELL MY VEHICLE UNTIL THE RECALLED AIRBAGS ARE REPLACED. THIS HAS CREATED A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR ME, AS I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPLACE THE EDGE WITH A MORE MILEAGE-EFFICIENT VEHICLE..
I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF TAKATA RECALL 1 YEAR AGO THAT STATED I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN A REPLACEMENT WAS AVAILABLE. NO CONTACT YET.

I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, PEACOCK FORD (FORMERLY KNOWN AS DON REID FORD), WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE MADE REPEATED PHONE CALLS TO THE SAME FORD DEALERSHIP TO REMEDY THE LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION THAT I HAVE BEEN FACED WITH ON A DAILY BASIS AS I DRIVE MY VEHICLE.

IN DECEMBER 2017 I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER STATING THAT PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AT SOONEST THE SPRING OF 2018. FORD RECOMMENDED NOT LETTING ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL REPAIRS WERE MADE. ARE THEY @#$%& KIDDING? THIS IS AN ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE AND A RIDICULOUS SUGGESTION. A RESPONSE TIMELINE OF TWO YEARS FOR A POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION AND A SUGGESTION THAT MAKES THE CAR ALMOST UNUSABLE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I WISH TO FILE THE MOST STRENUOUS COMPLAINT POSSIBLE.

TAKATA RECALL--I WAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE #16V-384 IN JULY OF 2016. THE VEHICLE IS NOT TO HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE OF METAL FRAGMENTS WHICH CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. I HAVE CALLED MANY TIMES ABOUT THE FIX AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE NEXT QUARTER THEY WILL HAVE THE REPAIRS. THAT QUARTER GOES AND IT WILL BE IN THE NEXT QUARTER. IT HAS NOW WENT ALMOST 2.5 YEARS. ONLY REPLACE THE REAR SUSPENSION TRAILING ARM/KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY AND REAR BEARING HUB ON THE SIDE WITH THE CONCERN. FAILING TO INSTALL A NEW REAR SUSPENSION TRAILING ARM/KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY WHEN INSTALLING A NEW REAR BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY WILL RESULT IN PREMATURE BEARING NOISE/WEAR. FORD NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIVE, ON DEFECTIVE PARTS. I CONTACTED THEM , 11/14 WHEN THE RIGHT FAILED, AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS: SORRY , YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A RECALL IN 2010. WHEN WE WERE NOT OUT OF WARRANTY. POTENTIALLY, WHEELS CAN FREEZE UP.
