MY LARGEST COMPLAINT IS THAT MY FATHER WHO OWNS A 2008 DODGE DAKOTA GOT THE VERY SAME RECALL AND HAS HAD HIS FIXED AND REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER. MY VEHICLE HOWEVER SEEMS TO BE SETTING ON THE BACK BURNER AWAITING THIS FIX SINCE MY INITIAL LETTER WAS RECEIVED. IT WILL BE 2 YEARS IN JULY THAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FIX TO HAPPEN AND I REFUSE TO, OR CANNOT, PARK MY VEHICLE AS IT IS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION. THEREFORE MY PASSENGERS, AS WELL AS MY OWN, LIFE IS ON THE LINE BECAUSE OF THIS SERIOUS SNAFU.

TAKATA RECALL I AM WRITING DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH BURNT/MELTED TAILLIGHT BULB/SOCKET. I NOTICED THAT MY TAILLIGHT IS BURNING OUT MUCH SOONER THAN IT SHOULD AND IT IS CAUSED BY THE SOCKET WHICH IS BURNT AND MELTED. HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION COIL EXPLODED AND DAMAGED THE PCM. MULTIPLE COILS AND THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,781.

I'VE REACHED OUT TO MY FORD DEALERS FOR OVER A YEAR IN REGARDS TO THE NOTICES I'VE RECIEVED IN THE THE MAIL. I KEEP GETTING THE RUN AROUND THAT DON'T HAVE THE THE PARTS IN STOCK. I CALLED LAST WEEK THEY SAID PARTS WOULD BE IN THIS WEEK. CALLED AGAIN & WAS HUNG UP ON. I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED WITH THIS MATTER IN REGARDS TO MY SAFETY AS WELL AS MY PASSENGERS!
MY CHILD AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY INTERSTATE, 1100 MILES FROM HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS SET ON CRUISE CONTROL AT 70 MPH. WITHOUT WARNING, THE CAR JERKED. WE HAD ITEMS THAT FELL INTO THE FLOORBOARD. I LOOKED AT MY GAUGES AND NOTICED THE CARS SPEEDOMETER HAD GONE TO ZERO. THE CAR BEGAN TO COAST EVEN THOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS STILL ON. THERE WAS A LOT OF TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE COMING BEHIND US. AS I PUSHED THE GAS PETAL, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND CALLED A FORD DEALER AND THEY HAD IT TOWED. THE NEXT DAY WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS A "CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION" ALSO, THAT IT BLEW OUT SENSORS ECT.. I HAVE WRITTEN FORD MOTOR COMPANY REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THEY STATE THAT THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OR FIELD SERVICE ACTIONS BEING TAKEN AND THEY URGED ME TO CONTACT WITH THE FORD DEALER SERVICING THE VEHICLE WITH ANY DISCOUNT OR ISSUES. THE FORD EDGE HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES, AND I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. THIS IS A SERIOUS PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED US TO WRECK OR A TRUCK TO REAR END US AND SHOULD I HAVE CONTACTED THE FORD DEALER THEN? I BELIEVE AND INVESTIGATION SHOULD TAKE PLACE BEFORE SOMEONE DOES GETS HURT OR KILLED. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. THE CAR IS REQUIRING A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION TO THE SUM OF $5,382.00. I WILL HAVE THE RECEIPT AS SOON AS IT'S REPAIRED. THE BLINKERS STOP WORKING. YOU DO NOT KNOW THIS UNTIL COP STOPS YOU. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE SOCKET HAD MELTED AND HAD THAT MOLTED LOOK TO THEM. THE LIGHT BULBS HAD BURNT OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO SINCE IT IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. HAD RECALL BACK IN 2016 BUT STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT REPLACEMENT. WHEN I CONTACT DEALERSHIP THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY DONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE AIRBAGS AND TO WAIT FOR LETTER FROM MANUFACTURE OR FORD. ITS VERY FRUSTRATING SINCE I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH LETTING ANYONE SIT IN FRONT SEAT DUE TO THIS RECALL.

FORD EDGE RECALL ON AIRBAGS WAS FIRST ISSUE ON JUNE 1ST, 2016. IT IS NO FEBRUARY 2ND, 2017, WHICH IS 8 MONTHS LATER, AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION ON FIXING THIS DEFECT HAS BEEN MAILED TO US BY FORD. THIS IS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REMEDY THEIR DEFECT SO I'M PLACING A COMPLAINT FOR LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS BY FORD.

TAKATA RECALL WAS ISSUED JUNE 1, 2016 AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER IS TAKING WAY TOO LONG TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS. I HAVE CONTACTED EVERY DEALERSHIP WITHIN 50 MILES AND NONE OF THEM HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE NHTSA SEARCH ALSO INDICATES THAT NO REPLACEMENT IS AVAILABLE YET. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND A REPLACEMENT NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY.
FORD HAS YET TO ADDRESS THE RECALL OF THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS, ISSUED ALMOST ONE YEAR LATER. WHEN WILL THIS BE RESOLVED?
TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 10 MONTHS SINCE THE AIRBAG RECALL AND NO DEALERSHIP HAS THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR AND WOULD LIKE IT REMEDIED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR AND I THINK THAT'S JUST RIDICULOUS. I WOULD LIKE A RENTAL CAR OR FOR MY CAR TO BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

"TAKATA RECALL" FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY PASSENGER AIRBAG 1 YEAR AGO. THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR ME TO GET MY CAR FIXED. I HAVE CALLED FORD AND FORD DEALERS OVER AND OVER BUT NO RESOLUTION. I CAN HAVE SOMEONE RIDE IN THE PASSAGE SEAT FOR FEAR OF DEATH WITH THE AIRBAG ON OR OFF. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE THEY CAN'T COME UP WITH A REMEDY AFTER A YEAR!

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN JUNE OF 2016 THAT ONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN MY CAR IS DEFECTIVE. MY CAR HAS A TAKATA AIRBAG WHICH IS KNOWN TO SEVERELY HARM OR KILL THE OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE IF THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED. IT HAS BEEN 15 MONTHS SINCE THE INITIAL NOTICE WAS SENT AND NO REMEDY HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO ME. I WOULD LIKE A REMEDY ASAP.

TAKATA RECALL #16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 I HAVE CALLED TO SEE IF THE REPLACEMENT IS AVAILABLE AND AM BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND WITH TAKATA FILING CHAPTER 11 THERE WILL HAVE TO BE ANOTHER COMPANY TO MAKE THE REPLACEMENT SO I GET TO WAIT IN LIMBO UNTIL THIS HAPPENS.
