WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT VERY SLOW SPEED AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY INCREASE IN SPEED. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, IT FIRST HAPPENED ONCE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO NOW IT OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. IT'S NOT FLOOR MATS OR ANYTHING ELSE ON THE GAS PEDAL ! SO FAR NO DAMAGE OR INJURIES BECAUSE I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE.WHEN I RESTART, ALL SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN LATER ON. ALSO NOTE THAT "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?" ANSWER IS THE LATEST DATE IT HAPPENED
AIRBAG RECALL ANNOUNCED A LONG TIME AGO. DEALER SAID PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE BUT THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY WERE. STILL NOT FIXED.
BRAKES ON MY 2008 FORD EDGE ARE MAKING A HISSING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSED AND DO NOT STOP THE CAR UNLESS I PRESS THE BRAKES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND EVEN WITH THAT, THE CAR DOES NOT STOP COMPLETELY, ESPECIALLY AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET NEW BRAKE PADS APPLIED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I LOOKED UP A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON THIS SITE ONLY TO FIND MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL.

JANSSEN FORD OF YORK (2605 SOUTH LINCOLN AVENUE, YORK, NEBRASKA 68467, (402) 362-3326) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL WOULD NOT BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
SEVERAL TIMES NOW, MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE GOING 40, 60, 70MPH ON THE HWY. I HAVE HAD TO INSTANTLY PUT HAZARDS ON AND TRY TO PULL OVER WHICH ISN'T ALWAYS EASY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I PULL OFF, AND THEN MY CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND SHIFTS GEARS AND THEN CAN ACCELERATE. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN I HAVE BEEN AT A COMPLETE STOP, AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE. WHEN YOU CANNOT MOVE FORWARD, OR CRAWL AT SPEEDS UNDER 5MPH, BUT YOUR RPMS ARE REACHING 7, THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN A FEW TIMES ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY CANNOT FIND OR RECREATE THE ISSUES, SO THEY SEND ME ON MY WAY. IT SOUNDS AS IF MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. I AM VERY NERVOUS THAT MY LUCK IN PULLING OFF OUT OF HARMS WAY WILL RUN OUT. I HAVE CALLED MY DEALERSHIP TO ONCE AGAIN HAVE IT LOOKED AT BUT THEY CANNOT GET ME IN FOR 10 DAYS.... SHOULD I EVEN DRIVE THIS CAR IF IT IS NOT RELIABLE?? I TRULY AM FRIGHTENED TO DRIVE NOW, AND THIS IS MY ONLY CAR AND AM A SINGLE MOTHER. NOT SURE WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO. I REALLY HOPE THAT FORD RECALLS THIS, AS I HAVE READ THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL LAWSUITS PENDING THIS EXACT ISSUE.
TAKATA INFLATORS I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED FOR MANY MONTHS, EVEN HAVING APPOINTMENTS WITH MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANCELED. THE REASON FOR THIS I'M TOLD IS THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOUR WEBSITE AND FORD WEBSITE HAS SENT LETTERS STATING THAT THE RECALL WAS URGENT AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL LETTERS ABOUT THIS RECALL YET THERE STILL ARE NOT ANY PARTS AVAILABLE. MOST RECENTLY WAS A LETTER FROM THE NYS DMV WARNING OF THE DANGER OF DRIVING MY VEHICLE WITHOUT THE AIRBAG REPAIRED AND THAT I COULD GET A RENTAL VEHICLE UNTIL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND MY VEHICLE IS REPAIRED. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS STILL ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THEY SHOULD BE BY END OF SEPTEMBER, AND TO CALL BACK THEN. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT A RENTAL VEHICLE AS INSTRUCTED IN LETTERS FROM BOTH FORD AND THE NYS DMV, I WAS TOLD THAT RENTAL VEHICLES ARE ALSO NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN CHECKING FOR MORE INFO, THERE IS INDICATION THAT MY VEHICLE IS STILL DRIVEABLE. IS IT REALLY SAFE TO DRIVE OR NOT? WHY AM I TOLD TO GET THIS "POTENTIALLY LIFESAVING REPAIR" AND PARTS ARE AVAILABLE IF THEY ARE NOT? IF IT IS A "POTENTIALLY LIFESAVING REPAIR" THEN SHOULD I REALLY BE DRIVING MY CAR?

THE TRANSMISSION STARTS SLIPPING WITH NO WARNING AND CAR WON'T GO ABOVE 5MPH UNTIL YOU STOP TURN CAR OFF AND WAIT ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND RESTART CAR THE WORKS FINE FOR AWHILE THEN STARTS AGAIN
RIGHT WHEEL WELL VIBRATES WHEN I TURN AND DRIVE OVER50 MILES HOUR TRANSMISSION JERKS LIKE ITS NOT ENGAGING TO NEXT GEAR FROM A STOP OR WHEN DRIVING UNDER MPH BACK LEFT BRAKE LIGHT BURNS OUT EVERY OTHER DAY . BRAKES ARE SQEELING AND SOUND LIKE METAL SCRAPING BUT NO INDICATOR HAS COME ON FOR THE ABS TO TO BE REPLACE MUST MODULE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY CAUSE MOT CODING ANYTHING WITH TRANNY JERKING EITHER FORD EDGE IS PEICE OF (XXXX) I NEVER BY AMERICAN AGAIN

MY TURN SIGNAL BULB SOCKET FRIES REPEATEDLY. THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH TIME IN 2 YEARS REPLACING IT. IT BURNS UP THE SOCKET AND MELTS THE BOTTOM OF THE LIGHT BULB. I GOT THE PARTS FROM FORD DEALERSHIP ALSO BUT I HAVE READ ONLINE ANY PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES WITH IT. IT JUST GOES OUT ALL OF A SUDDEN.
TAKATA RECALL BEEN OVER A YEAR AND STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE BOMB IN MY VEHICLE. FORD SAYS IT IS SAFE BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE KILLED AND HURT BY SHRAPNEL FROM BAD AIRBAGS. FORD HAS AN OPEN BOUNTY ON 2006 RANGER PICKUPS FOR THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL. RECALL HAPPENED JAN 2017. IT'S NOW AUG 2018 AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS RIDICULOUS AND VERY UNSAFE THAT THE ONLY OPTION I HAVE IS TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR WHEN THE COMPANY HAS HAD ALMOST 2 YEARS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED FORD ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS STILL NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AND WON'T BE FOR A WHILE YET.
AT 90,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING TOOK IT TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP DID A DIAGNOSTIC CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION OIL AND NOTHING CAME ON THE TEST THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT IT SLIPPED AGAIN IN A COUPLE WEEKS I HAD TO PULL OVER PUT IT IN PARK STARTED AGAIN AND IT WENT. AFTER EIGHT MONTHS OF WORKING GOOD YESTERDAY SAME SLIPPING HAPPENED AGAIN TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND AGAIN CAME OUT OK THIS IS CRAZY. PLANNING A TRIP AND HE SAYS I WOULDN'T TAKE THE CAR BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING BUT THERE'S NO RECALLS ON IT AND READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS WHY IS THERE NO RECALL?
TAKATA RECALL- I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND EVERY FORD DEALER I HAVE CALLED HAS SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. NEW YORK STATE DMV SENT A NOTICE THAT THIS IS AN URGENT RECALL AND IF THE AIR BAG RANDOMLY DEPLOYS IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO ANYONE IN THE CAR. HOW CAN I REPAIR MY CAR IF PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE SO I WILL HAVE PEACE OF MIND AND FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR.
I HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAGS FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AND FORD IS UNABLE TO FIX DUE TO UNAVAILABLE REPLACEMENT PARTS. WE HAVE TRIED SEVERAL FORD SERVICE CENTERS IN NY AND PA. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM DMV WHICH STATES THAT THE SITUATION COULD "KILL OR SERIOUSLY INJURE YOU AND YOUR PASSENGERS...". I AM SHOCKED THAT FORD ISN'T DOING MORE TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

THE CONTACT HAD BEEN WAITING FOR THE PART FOR OVER THREE MONTHS. THE CANADIAN MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. A FORD DEALER AND MANUFACTURER IN THE USA WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ONE WEEK PRIOR TO EVENT-THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON WHILE STARTING CAR. I TURNED IGNITION OFF AND RE-STARTED CAR IGNITION-DROVE FINE WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT UNTIL 1 WEEK LATER: PULLED INTO A 1 MILE DRIVEWAY TO GET TO MY WORK OFFICE SUITE (FLAT ROAD) DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES, CAR CAME TO A STOP WITHOUT WARNING-AT THAT TIME ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I PUT IT INTO PARK/WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE AS IT BEGAN ROLLING NEAR AN OFFICE SUITE-THE STEERING WHEEL WAS FROZEN. HAVE HAD SAME STALLING ISSUES WHILE DRIVING CAR SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR AT 18,000 MILES-EACH TIME TOLD DIFFERENT THINGS ARE CAUSING IT BY DEALER, I.E. TSS/OSS SENSORS, EBT, REFLASH POM WHICH I HAD FIXED. WITH CURREN EVENT- ARE IN PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED WITH FORCE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
TAKATA RECALL PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE JIM TIDWELL FORD SAYS IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY SAY I NEED LONG TERM RENTAL. THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN ME ONE YET. I CALLED KROUSE FAMILY FORD AND WAS TOLD IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL RECALL I TOLD THEM I FEARED MY SAFETY AND WAS PUT IN HOLD PERMANENTLY. I JUST BOUGHT CAR 6 MONTHS AGO AND NO HELLO FROM CAR MART EITHER.

TAKATA RECALL - AFTER MORE THAN 2 YEAR THERE ARE STILL NO REMEDIES. FORD HAS PASSED MULTIPLE PROMISED TIMELINES FOR COMPLETION. RECENTLY RECEIVED A DOCUMENT OFFERING PARTIAL ($30/DAY) PAYMENT FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE UNTIL THEY CAN DETERMINE HOW TO REPAIR.
YESTERDAY, THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO STOP. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKES, BUT NEEDED TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE AND THEY MADE A HISSING SOUND. THE VEHICLE SLOWLY COASTED TO A STOP. IT WAS A TERRIFYING INCIDENT, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A 5 YEAR OLD SON. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED. I SEE THAT THIS IS A RECALL ON THE 2010 AND NEWER EDGE, WHICH USES THE SAME PART. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD ALSO BE A RECALL IN THE EARLIER MODELS, AS IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AWAITING REPAIR, WHICH WILL COST ME IN EXCESS OF $500. I AM NOT PLEASED.
I WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AS I NORMALLY DO THE CAR KEPT MOVING SO I HAD TO APPLY LOT OF PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR. I HEARD A UNUSUAL NOISE. I HAD TWO DIAGNOSTIC DONE AND INFORMED THAT IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT WAS NOT COVER UNDER THE FACTORY RECALL BECAUSE IT'S A 2008 MODEL EDGE WHAT A RIPOFF! THE SAME MANUFACTURE DEFECTIVE ISSUE IN THE 2010 IS COVERED. GO FIGURE!. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING FASTER I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO STOP TO AVOID A ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL - IN JULY 2016 I WAS MAILED A RECALL LETTER # 16S384 THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS DEFECTIVE. I WAS INFORMED THIS WOULD BE FIXED NO LATER THE THE END OF SEPT. 2018. THIS RECALL HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED. MY LOCAL FORD DEALER CONTINUES TO TELL ME THERE NOTHING THEY CAN DO AS REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. IS THERE ANY THING THAT NTSB CAN DO TO GET THIS COMPLETED?
NOTICED THE R/H BRAKE LIGHT WAS OUT. WENT TO CHANGE THE BULB AND FOUND THE SOCKET IS BURNED AND CHARD. I REMOVED THE L/H SIGNAL LIGHT AND FOUND THE EXACT SAME SITUATION. THIS IS A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD AND A QUICK ON-LINE SEARCH FOUND MULTIPLE SIMILAR SITUATIONS. A COWORKER OF MINE WITH EXACT SAME VEHICLE HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN.
MY SUV HAD ODOMETER ERROR. THE THE WRENCH.CAME ON AIR BAG.CAME ONE AND WOULD NOT.SHIFT LOST POWER PULLED.OVER TURNED.CAR OFF THEN BACK ON LIGHTS WENT OFF ON DASH BUT.IT.WAS MAKING.NOISE GOING.INTO.GEAR
TAKATA RECALL THE WARNING LETTER 12/17 SAID NOT TO LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I TOOK THIS VERY SERIOUSLY AND EVEN RENTED A CAR WHEN THE ENTIRE FAMILY TRAVELED TOGETHER TO AVOID PUTTING SOMEONE IN THAT SEAT. ON JUNE 20, 2018, MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING OUR EDGE. SHE WAS HIT BY SOMEONE WHO RAN THE RED LIGHT. THE DRIVER FRONT WHEEL AREA AND BUMPER AREA WERE TAKEN OFF. THE OIL PAN AND WHEEL CHASSIS WERE DAMAGED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS CLAIMED A "TOTAL LOSS." NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON 6/20/2018. I HAD REQUESTED A RENTAL CAR UNDER THE "RECALL NOTICE" ON 6/11/2018 FROM FORD AUTONATION. ON 6/11/2018 AUTONATION SAID THEY COULD ONLY PUT ME IN A FORD150. AS I AM TOO SHORT AND NOT ABLE TO SEE VERY WELL OVER THE STEERING WHEEL AS WELL AS IT HURTS MY HIP TO GET UP IN A TRUCK THAT HIGH. THEREFORE I REQUESTED A CAR SIMILAR TO THE EDGE. AFTER CALLS AND VISITING AUTONATION, THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK AFTER THE ONE CONVERSATION ON 6/11. THEN I CALLED FORD ON 6/18/2018 WHO GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND SENT TO A DIFFERENT AUTO DEALERSHIP. THE RENTAL CAR IS JUST READY FOR PICKUP TODAY.

SERVAL TIMES I HAVE AVOIDED CAR ACCIDENTS BY HAVING TO BRAKE ABRUPTLY CAUSE THE CAR TO GET STUCK IN THAT GEAR AND ME HAVING TO SUDDENLY FORCING THE CAR TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF BUSY 5 O CLCK TRAFFIC AND TURN OFF CAR AND RESTART IT TO ENGAGE THE GEARS TO THE NEXT ONE I HAVE BACKED INTO MY FENCE DO TO THIS SUDDEN JERKING WITHOUT WARNING AND HAVE DAMAGED MY BACK BUMPER DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND THAT MY CAR IS NOT BEEN RECALL DUE TO THESE ISSUES. FIRST TIME I BUY AMERICAN AND FIRST-TIME I HATE MY CAR NOW IM STUCK MAKING PAYMENT ON A CAR THAT HAS SO MANY ISSUES AND UN ABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY I MAKING PAYMENT FOR THE NEXT 17 MONTHS FOR A CAR I CANT DRIVE AND I WILL NEVER BUY AMERICAN AGAIN ALSO THE BRAKES A GRINDING AND SQUEELING AND SINCE I HAVE ABS BRAKES SYSTEM SHOULDNT THE WARNING LIGHT BE WARNING ME BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY START SOUNDING LIKE GRINDING TO PIECES OF METAL TOGETHER I FEEL MY CAR SHOULD BE ONE OF THE ONE THAT SHOULD GET RECALLED FOR ISSUES OTHER CARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUES AND THIS STARTED SINCE 6/16 /2018 AND HAS BEEN EVERYDAY SINCE AND IM ALSO STILL WAITING TO GET THE AIR BAG RECALL FIXED ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR

I WAS SOLD A CAR FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP IN 2016 THAT HAD AN AIRBAG RECALL. MY TRUCK WAS PURCHASED IN 2016 AND THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL HAS BEEN OUT SINCE AROUND 2014. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN WITH PEOPLE DYING FROM THIS DEFECTED AIRBAG AND SEVERELY INJURED. I ALSO HAD A WRECK IN THIS VEHICLE IN 2017 AND I AM GRATEFUL THE AIRBAG DID NOT COME BECAUSE I AM A MOTHER OF TWO CHILDREN. I'VE SENT MY CAR TO FORD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR MAINTENANCE AND NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALL. IT WASN'T UNTIL JUNE 2018, I WAS INFORMED. THE LETTER STATED IT WAS THE SECOND NOTICE BUT IT WAS ACTUAL MY FIRST LETTER.I WAS OFFERED A RENTAL VEHICLE, THAT I AM CURRENTLY IN NOW. THEY ARE ASKING FOR ME TO RETURN THE VEHICLE BUT MY HUSBAND HAS IT IN ANOTHER STATE. HE IS CO-OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO DRIVE IT AND NEITHER IS HE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH MY SMALL CHILDREN. I AM ASKING FOR AN EXTENSION ON THE RENTAL OR SOME TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT FOR MY SAFETY AND TROUBLES. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AT APPROX 40 MPH TRANSMISSION SHUTTER AND LOCKED THE WHEELS UP. LUCKILY THE TRAFFIC AROUND ME WAS ABLE TO DODGE ME WITHOUT INCIDENT. I SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED PUT INTO 1ST GEAR AND PULLED OFF TO SIDE OF ROAD. THERE WAS BURNT GEAR OIL SMELL COMING FROM UNDER THE SUV. NOW IT COMES AND GOES TRANS SLIPPING AND PTU OVERHEATING.
