I RECENTLY REPLACED MY BRAKE AND TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB CONSTANTLY AND NOTICE THE SOCKET IS BURNT . SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I HAD IT REPLACED. A YEAR LATER THE SAME INSTANCE HAPPEN AGAIN SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I HAD TO REPLACE AGAIN. I'M NOTICING A PATTERN THAT SOCKET FOR THE TURN SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHT ARE BURNING OUT
My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I’ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.
THE FORD 3,5L DURATEC ENGINE WATER PUMP CAUSED COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE AND IS CURRENTLY BREAKING DOWN MY MOTOR. AS COOLANT & ENGINE OIL DON'T MIX, SO I HAVE TO REPLACE IT. WILL COST ME MORE THAN THE SUV ITSELF, SO GOING TO JUNK IT AND BEWARE ANYBODY WITH ANY FORD EDGE WITH THAT 3.5L DURATEC ENGINE WITH THE INTERNAL WATER PUMP. IT WILL FAIL AND BY TIME YOU NOTICE IT, IT'S TOO LATE. CAUSE MY SUV TO STALL & SHUT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE THE SENSOR ARE OFF BECAUSE OF THE COOLANT LEAKING INSIDE THE MOTOR.
THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED OCTOBER 2016 ON A RECALL, THAT GAS TANK IS NOW LEAKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF ANY WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO FOWLER FORD (3400 S SHERIDAN RD, TULSA, OK 74145, (918) 346-6500), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR FILLED WITH GAS FUMES AFTER FILLING THE TANK ON11/4/2019. I CALLED DON HINDS FORD THE NEXT MORNING AND DROPPED IT OFF THAT EVENING. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSPECTED IT AND FOUND THAT THE GAS TANK WAS LEAKING. THE GAS TANK HAD BEEN REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL JUST 15 MONTHS AGO. FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE, STATING HAT THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. WE HAVE ASKED OUR DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS. MY CONCERN IS THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPLACED DEFECTIVE GAS TANKS WITH DEFECTIVE GAS TANKS. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE IT TO AN "AUTHORIZED FORD SERVICE PROVIDER" EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS ALREADY AT A AUTHORIZED FORD SEVICE PROVIDER...EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS LEAKING GAS AND COULD CATCH FIRE, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THAT MY CAR'S INTERIOR WAS FILLED WITH GAS FUMES.
WHILE DRIVE ABOUT 50 MILES PER HOUR ON THE STREET THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT ON THEN OFF. I PULLED UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR COULD HARDLY MOVE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO LIMP ALONG UNTIL I GOT TO MY DESTINATION. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WHEN I CAME BACK AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS IT STARTED AND HAS BEEN DRIVING FINE THE LAST TWO DAYS, FOR NOW. NO WRENCH LIGHT NO POWER PROBLEMS. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME DESCRIPTION AS MINE. A THROTTLE BODY SEEMS TO BE AT FAULT. APPARENTLY FORD KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND DID NOT DO A RECALL. RATHER THEY DID AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT ENDED IN 2015.
VECHICLE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. EVERYTHING LOSES POWER INCLUDING POWER STEERING. ON OCTOBER 16,2019 IT OCCUR D WHILE DRIVING ON PARKWAY WITH MY GRANDSON IN THE CAR. WE JUST AVOIDED A MAJOR CATASTROPHE. WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART CAR AND CAREFULLY DRIVE HOME BUT NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE. THE ENGINE REPAIR WRENCH WAS LITE AND MECHANIC FEELS IT MAY BE THROTTLE BODY ISSUES . THANK YOU

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT GRIFFITH FORD SAN MARCOS (LOCATED AT 2661 INTERSTATE 35 FRONTAGE RD, SAN MARCOS, TX 78666) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. ACCORDING TO A FORD DEALERSHIP THE PTU (POWER TRANSFER UNIT) ON MY EDGE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. PROBLEM IS THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR 10 YEARS. THIS ISSUE AFFECTS MODEL YEARS 2007 THROUGH 2017. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FROM A RECALL PERSPECTIVE? I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE WITH THIS CONDITION. I BECAME AWARE OF THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN AND ON THE EXPRESSWAY. SIGNIFICANT VIBRATION, GRINDING, AND HIGHER PITCH SOUND WHILE IN MOTION.
I AM CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU ARE AWARE OF ANY ENGINE COIL REPLACEMENTS ISSUES. I SEE LOTS OF ISSUES ON THEM ON THE INTERNET. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED TOO. EXTREMELY HARD BRAKE PEDAL WHEN BRAKING NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS. HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF 13N02 PROGRAM THROUGH FORD BUT AM TOLD MY VEHICLE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR SAID SERVICE PROGRAM. EXACT SYMPTOMS I AM EXPERIENCING ARE REFERENCED IN 13N02. VEHICLE HAS 126000 MILES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON RICH FORD (221 E MONTGOMERY ST, VILLA RICA, GA 30180, (770) 459-5132) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,215.
SAMES DEALERSHIP IN BASTROP TEXAS SAYS THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG IS NOT ON THE RECALL.. THEREFORE THEY WOULD NOT CHANGE OUT FOR ME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT FOUND THAT FORD ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS, WHICH MADE IT HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM AND THAT NHTSA SELECTS THE VEHICLES TO BE INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,788.
FROM BOTH A STOP OR AFTER SLOWING DOWN AND UPON ACCILERATION, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP AND THEN CATCH REAL HARD. IT DOES IT WHEN I START FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN I SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY THEN TRY TO GET BACK UP TO SPEED. WHEN IT CATCHES IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR HAS BEEN HIT HARD FROM THE REAR. THIS IS NOT DURING A FAST START OR FAST ACCILERATION, IT IS FROM JUST NORMAL DRIVING, KEEPING UP WITH NORMAL TRAFFIC. IT HAS HAPPENED ON MANY OCCASIONS AND IS NOT CONSISTANT WITH WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT HAPPENS ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING AND HAPPENS BOTH IN TOWN, ON HIGHWAYS AND FREEWAYS. IT HAS HAPPENED AT ALL SPEEDS AND IN ALL WEATHER. IT CAUSES A LOT OF FEAR AND I CAN SEE ME HITTING THE BRAKES SOMETIME WHICH COULD ACTUALLY CAUSE SOMEONE TO RUN INTO ME AS A RESULT. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND WHEN I HAD IT CHECKED BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO SLIP. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL SLIP OF THE TRANSMISSION, IT IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF OPERATION THEN CATCHING AND SLAMMING THE GEARS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JUMP FORWARD. I AM CERTAIN THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BEING DAMAGED WITH EACH OCCURRANCE. I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT THIS HAPPENS UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, DRIVING SANELY, NOT HOT RODDING OR FAST ACCILERATION. IT IS JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH NORMAL TRAFFIC. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AND I AM ALWAYS ON THE ALERT FOR IT SO IF IT STARTS I MIGHT BE ABLE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS BEFORE IT WINDS UP TO HIGH TO MINIMIZE THE SLAMMING OF THE GEARS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 105K MILES ON IT THE CAR HAS 245K NOW
TAKATA RECALL I CALLED TO SCHEDULE MY RECALL TO BE REPAIRED NOW THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE AVAILABLE. IN ASKING FOR TRANSPORTATION UNTIL MY VEHICLE IS REPAIRED, FREEDOM FORD IN CLAYPOOL HILL, VIRGINIA SAID IT WAS A HALF HOUR JOB, THEY ONLY HAD TWO LOANERS AND THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANYTHING ELSE. NOW WHEN I CALLED THEM 8 MONTHS AGO WHEN WE GOT A LETTER TELLING US THAT WE COULD GET A FREE RENTAL UNTIL THE PARTS CAME IN THEY DIDN'T WANT TO ASSIST US THEN EITHER. HENCE WHY I AM COMPLAINING. THIS IS UNSAT.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN MY 2010 FORD EDGE AND TURNING ONTO MY STREET THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN, BARELY MAKE THE CORNER CLIPPING THE OPPOSITE CURB SLIGHTLY, LOOK DOWN AND THE TEMPERATURE GAGE IS BURIED IN HOT. NO WARNING LIGHTS JUST INSTANT SHUTDOWN. OPEN THE HOOD AND SEE WATER DRIPPING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE MOTOR BUT DON'T SEE A WATER PUMP, FIND OUT LATER IT IS INTERNAL AND CAUSED A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, VEHICLE NEEDS NEW MOTOR FOR $7,950.00 -
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed; the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY AND AS I SLOWED COMING TO A STOP LIGHT I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND IT WAS HARD AND WASN'T STOPPING. I GOT IT STOPPED. I HEADED HOME AND A CAR WAS SUDDENLY STOPPING IN FRONT OF ME, I STEPPED ON THE PEDAL AND IT WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD I HAD TO PUMP TO GET IT TO CATCH I HAD TO SWERVE INTO THE NEXT LANE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. AS I PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AND PRESSED ON BRAKE IF HISSED AND CHIRPED, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, I ONLY HAVE 66,000 MILES ON MY CAR. WHY HAS FORD NOT BEEN RECALLED ON THIS MATTER FROM ALL THE COMPLAINT OUT THERE ABOUT THIS ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2007? MY HUSBAND IS A CAR GUY AND HE SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILING. DESCRIPTIONS FROM OTHER COMPLAINTS AND MECHANICAL INFORMATION COMFIRMED IT. ALONG WITH FORDS ATTEMPT TO MINIMIZE THE LARGE PROBLEM ON ALL EDGE VEHICLES WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON SOME VEHICLES # 13NO2 AND IN COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE.
BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE PEDAL WAS HARD TO PUSH N THE FEELING OF TSKING LONG TO STOP.
2010 EDGE LOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING. IT JUST WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO PARK AND PUT IT BACK ON TRACK. WHEN I AM STOPPED WAITING FOR THE CHANGE OF LIGHT I HAVE TO KEEP THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SO THAT IT DOES NOT TURN OFF.
STEERING PROBLEM UPON ENTERING THE DRIVER WAY TO MY GARAGE MY STEERING WENT OUT HAD TO FIGHT THE WHEEL TO TURN IT LATER THAT EVENING I CHECK IT WENT TO DRIVE WENT ABOUT 200 FEET DOWN THE ALLEY AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN. DROVE TO THE SHOP THE NEXT MORNING NO PROBLEM THE MECHANIC SAID IT MAYBE A RECALL I SHOULD CHECK.
BEGAN HEARING AIR WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED. SPONGY FEELING WHEN USING THE BRAKE. MECHANIC SAID THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE PRICE OF $687.
WHILE DRIVING LATE AT NIGHT THE TEMP GAUGE WENT ON TO HOT/ CAR STALLED OUT ON A MAIN STREET I LET IT COOLED OFF AND DROVE HOME. HAD CAR TOWED TO FORD AUTO NATION NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE WATER PUMP AND ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, COST WOULD BE $7,259.00. MY CAR HAS LESS THAN SEVENTY SIX THOUSAND MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES LOST POWER. THE CONTACT USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A WHISTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000.
KNOWN ISSUE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02 FOR FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER. OURS FAILED AND FORD STATES IT IS NOT COVERED. CAR IS UNDER 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 150,000 MILES. THEIR OWN PROGRAM STATES THESE BRAKE BOOSTERS FAIL ON THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR YET THEY GET AWAY WITHOUT FIXING IT DUE TO MY VIN FALLING OUTSIDE THE COVERED VEHICLES. NOT SURE HOW A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE LIKE THIS THAT LEADS TO UNSAFE DRIVING WHILE THE PROBLEM DEVELOPS AND IS REALIZED IS NOT MANDATED INTO A RECALL. IT IS SLIGHTLY NOTICABLE AT FIRST SO WE KEPT DRIVING THE VEHICLE. AFTER A NUMBER OF CLOSE CALLS DUE TO THE BRAKES NOT APPLYING WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, WE TOOK IT IN TO NORTH COUNTRY FORD IN COON RAPIDS MN AND THEY CONFIRMED THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
I REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT,BUT NOW THE DRIVER SIDE FAN DOESN'T WORK

THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE HAD TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE AND PUMP THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KINGS AUTO MALL (9555 KINGS AUTO MALL WAY, CINCINNATI, OH 45249, (513) 686-0220) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,926.
RECALL FOR BRAKE BOOSTER. WAS TOLD NOT FOR MY VIN? SAME PART FOR RECALL (13N02)WITHIN WARRANTY OF 150K MILES. $1500 COST TO REPAIR OUT OF POCKET? DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND BRAKES WERE HARD COULDN'T STOP FINALLY KICKED IN AND CAR SHAKED VIOLENTLY BEFORE STOPPING.WAS TOLD BOOSTER FAILURE CAUSED BREAK ROTORS AND CYLINDER DAMAGE.
OUTPUT SHAFT PTU THE MECHANIC IN THE SHOP WAS REPLACING A SEAL AND FOUND THAT THE OUTPUT SHAFT WAS NOT EVEN ATTACHED
THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS FAILING, CAUSING ME TO NEARLY READ END PEOPLE. THE PEDDLE IS VERY HARD AND NEEDS TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP. NOV.4 SIMPLY I HAD A WHEEL BEARING GO BAD ON PASSENGER SIDE FRONT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO ! NOW I HAVE THE WHEEL BEARING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE GO BAD , COSTING ME OVER1100 DOLLARS !! I HAVE OWNED OVER 30 CARS IN MY LIFETIME WITH FAMILY AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A WHEEL BEARING. WHATS GOING ON!!!!

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP IN 2011 AND IT HAS BARELY 76000 MILES AND SINCE MAY 2019 IT'S BEEN FAILING THE BREAK BOOSTER THAT'S WHAT THE MECHANIC SAID AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS I CAN'T STOP THE VEHICLE EVEN A LOWER SPEED, THE BREAK PEDAL IS HARD TO PRESS ITS VERY DANGEROUS!! DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, I GOT OFF OF THE FREEWAY AND A COUPLE OF STOP LIGHTS LATER MY CAR SPUTTERED AND SHUT DOWN. I LOOKED AT THE TEMP GAUGE AND SAW I WAS OVERHEATED. I RECEIVED NO WARNING OR ALERTS ON MY DASHBOARD. I LET IT COOL FOR FEW MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT. MY RADIATOR OVERFLOW WAS EMPTY. I LET IT COOL SOME MORE AND PUT IN 1 1/2 GALLONS OF COOLANT. I STARTED THE ENGINE, IT STARTED VERY ROUGH. AFTER A MINUTE OF RUNNING, COOLANT STARTED POURING OUT OF THE FRONT OF MY ENGINE. I ASSUME IT WAS FROM THE RADIATOR. THE ENGINE SHUT ITSELF DOWN AGAIN AND I LEFT THE CAR OVERNIGHT. I CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. HE TURNED THE KEY AND THE ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER. IT WAS JUST CLICK. HE SAID, "THAT'S NOT GOOD." HE ATTACHED HIS DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND A BATTERY JUMPER. SAME RESULT. HE SAID HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO LOOK AT MY ENGINE TO KNOW IT WAS BLOWN. THE ERROR MESSAGES ON HIS EQUIPMENT CONFIRMED IT. HE PUT WATER IN MY RADIATOR AND PUT IT UNDER PRESSURE. WATER AGAIN STARTED POURING OUT. HE PULLED OUT THE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG AND WHAT LOOKED LIKE A VANILLA MILKSHAKE OOZED OUT. HE INSPECTED MY WATER PUMP AND CONFIRMED THAT IT HAD FAILED. IT DRAINED MY RADIATOR AND MY CAR OVERHEATED AND BLEW THE HEAD IN A MATTER OF MINUTES, AGAIN WITH NO INDICATORS OF ANY KIND THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I HAVE TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. I STILL OWE MONEY ON IT SO IT'S NOT WORTH IT TO TRASH THE CAR. MY CAR HAS ONLY 70,000 MILES ON IT. UPON DOING RESEARCH I FOUND A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THIS WATER PUMP PROBLEM PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FROM FORD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTERS ON ALL 2010 EDGES NO MATTER THE MILEAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
VEHICLE HAS MAJOR ABS PROBLEMS WITCH ALSO AFFECTS THE TRACTION CONTROL. VEHICLE RANDOMLY DOES NOT RESPOND TO BRAKING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. FORD NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT AS A RESULT. I BOUGHT THIS SUV FOR MY WIFE AND KIDS IT ONLY HAS 100K. IT SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THESE ISSUES.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY HEATER STARTED BLOWING COLD AIR AND WITHIN 5-10 MINUTES MY GAS PEDAL WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. 1-2 MINUTES AFTER MY GAS PEDAL WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THANKFULLY THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS APPROACHING AN EXIT AND I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY BEFORE MY CAR OVERHEATED AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. MY CAR OVERHEATED 1-2 MINUTES AFTER MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF ANY PROBLEMS ON MY CAR BEFORE THIS ALL HAPPENED. IT WAS VERY SUDDEN. I WAS ABOUT 1.5 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME AND HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED. A MECHANIC LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THE COOLANT IS COMPLETELY DRAINING OUT. THEY USE AN ENTIRE GALLON OF COOLANT AND IT POURED OUT OF MY CAR IMMEDIATELY, IN UNDER A MINUTE. AS OF RIGHT NOW, I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP ON MY CAR. HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP, THE MECHANIC SAID THEY HAVE TO COMPLETELY REMOVE MY FRONT ENGINE IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE WATER PUMP. THIS WILL CALL FOR AT LEAST 12 HOURS OF LABOR, RAISING COST OF WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND $200 FOR A NEW WATER PUMP TO BETWEEN $1700-$2100. IF THE MECHANICS FIND THAT THE COOLANT HAS INDEED MIXED WITH MY ENGINE OIL AND RUINED MY ENGINE, THEN I WILL HAVE TO COMPLETELY REPLACE MY ENGINE, RAISING THE COST FURTHER TO $7K+. ACCORDING TO KELLEY BLUE BOOK, IF I END UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, THIS WILL COST ABOUT 2-3 TIMES WHAT MY CAR IS WORTH.
