This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

I received an email saying I need to replace the airbag; I think it expired.
The front driver seat belt has been fraying to the point that there’s only about 1/2” of belt left to hold it together. It’s frayed above the buckle so if I was to hit anything & depending on the belt to save my life I’m screwed bc it’ll just snap. I’ve contacted ford who refuses to replace it under warranty bc it’s been over 6yrs which is wrong bc it is a genuine ford motor craft part and peoples safety and lives depend on the seatbelt to save lives. It shouldn’t only be under warranty for a limited amount of time if it’s an original ford part. So bc ford has discontinued all parts and belts for the front driver’s side I can’t find a replacement for under $200! So this is deadly and I’m not sure what led to this level of fraying other than the mechanical device it winds up in. I always wear my belt and never has it been in the door or anything so I’m not sure what caused this horrible problem but it’s even worse ford refuses to replace it. I drive a 2010 edge se fwd it has only 88k miles and has barely been driven and one owner. I’ve looked online and seen that a lot of fords have had recalled seat belts. I believe this needs to be a recall especially considering all the front driver’s seat belts on ford have been discontinued and they don’t offer any other brand of replacement. How can they expect to ensure the safety of the driver of the car if they don’t have a lifetime replacement warranty on the actual belt itself or even offer a replacement for a decent price or a replacement at all for that matter considering all have been discontinued that tells me they weren’t that secure to begin with if they aren’t even available.
I took my 2010 ford edge to have a air bag recall repaired. The air bag was fixed, the air bag light cleared. I drove about 3 miles home and the light reappeared, I checked the code and it was B2293-03 air bag fault. My wife called right away and told them the light came on and the car can't be inspected until it's clear. They told my wife it would be $200 to take a look at a repair they literally just took their hands off of. All I want is this safety feature fixed right without the $200 fee which is crazy when I just picked it up.
There is a noise coming from the interior of my car, near the brakes that makes a high pitched noise and is causing the brake to feel a bit hard when pressed. It is believed that the brake booster has malfunctioned. There is a customer satisfaction program listed as 13N02 in regard to the extended warranty coverage for brake boosters. Is my vehicle eligible to be covered on this warranty?
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed and felt abnormally stiff. The failure mileage was 42,000.
Hello, This is [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] . This vehicle has a shorted steer sensor part#8t4z-3f818-a. If traction control button is not turned off at start up, the vehicle will slam on the brakes and jurk the steering wheel while going around a curve. I took the car to Crossroads Ford for diagnosis. They inspected and stated it needed the steering angle sensor. I payed them $377.90 for the part to be ordered on 3/20/25. The part was suppose to be there 4/1/25. They never called, I called they stated it was still on order. Today I called again 4/29/25 and asked the parts manager where the part is. He stated it was Discontinued Product from ford and is not available. This is a required part for the vehicle to perform safely, I have checked all other means of order online all are discontinued. Please advise why Ford is being allowed to discontinue production and availability for part#8t4z-3f818-a. Thank You [XXX] no accident has occurred but could due to the erratic behavior of the vehicle traction control due to this faulty part. My brake power booster needs replacing urgently. There is currently a recall for 2010 Ford Edge (2010-2014 Edge & MKX Vehicles specifically). My Edge however is not included. I do not understand why. This is the recall I am referring to: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The failure mileage was approximately 210,000.
Brake booster failed. This is an known problem with year and model. Ford says recall doesn't apply to vin.
Brake Booster is faulty. I was told this is a known problem for the Ford Edge. A faulty brake booster is dangerous if not fixed asap. The cost to fix is 900 dollars. Since this is a known issue with brake booster it really should be a recall item. IMO
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic, and it was discovered that there was coolant inside the oil. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic who confirmed the failure and informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and provided and estimate for a diagnostic test however, the contact declined to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was towed to the residence where it remained. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, there was a slight resistance, causing the contact to apply more pressure while depressing the pedal. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the brake booster had failed. The mechanic informed the contact of the Technical Service Bulletin: 13N02 which was associated with the NHTSA ID Numbers: 10251228 (Service Brake, Hydraulic) and 10246076 (Service Brake, Hydraulic); and advised the contact check if the vehicle was included. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the TSB. I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD EGDE, WHEN I NOTICED THAT IT WAS TAKING LONGER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ALSO, WHEN I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES, THERE WAS AN AIR SOUND. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS HISSING. I KNEW SOMEHTING WAS WRONG. I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE I JUST HAD THE FRONT BRAKES REPLACED AND THAT THE MECHANIC MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN TO BLEED THE LINES OR THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOW ON BRAKE FLUID. I WENT BACK TO THE MECHAINC AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AGAIN. THEY FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER THAT WAS FAULTY AND THAT THE PART WAS INEXPENSIVE BUT THE LABOR WAS HIGH BECUASE OF THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO FIX IT. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THERE WAS FOR CERTAIN 2010 FORD EDGES. WHEN I TYPED IN MY VIN, THE RECALL DID NOT COME UP. I CALLED FORD DIRECT TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THAT MY VIN WAS NOT. NOW MIND YOU, THE VEHICLE IS 14 YEARS OLD, BUT IT ONLY HAD 107989 MILES ON IT. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. IT COST 1255.26. THAT INCLUDED THE STOP LIGHT SWITCH THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED WHEN REPLACING THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL OF THE 2010 FORD EDGES WEREN'T RECALLED BECAUSE IT SEEMS THAT JUST ABOUT EVERY ONE THAT OWNS ONE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THIS.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that due to the failure, the contact's vehicle rear-ended the vehicle in front of the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that there was no damage to either. The contact stated no police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
Brake booster leak. Very dangerous and expensive to fix!!!!
Vehicle is in St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Vehicle has two recalls for airbags due. Our local Ford dealership (Metro Motors) states they do not perform safety recalls on vehicles.
Power steering fluid leaking.Had hoses replaced, but problem still persist.No.2 Power brakes lost, pedal very hard. Very lucky ,not to hit car in front of me. Car is in shop, mechanic tells me it probablyneeds Power booster replaced. no warning signs.
BRAKE FAIL'S DUE TO LEAK IN BRAKE BOOSTER, BRAKES STILL WORK BUT EXTREME PRESSURE ON PEDAL REQUIRED TO STOP CAR AND EXTRA TIME AND DISTANCE REQUIRED TO STOP OR SLOW CAR. CAR GARAGED ENTIRE LIFE AND ONLY JUST TURNED 100K ON ODOMETER. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS AND NO ACTION ON FORD'S PART TO CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT MANY TIMES ON INTERNET.
The car under carriage completely rusted out and cause a major failure in the middle of a major street. I informed ford of the problem by special mail and have not receive a reply. I took the car to the dealership where I bought the car. They said it would cost 8,000 for th repair and they did not know if the complete problem would be fixed. Please help. [XXX] , [XXX] [XXX] .
