The brake pedal does not feel right and the car continues to roll. My mechanic found that the brake pedal vacuum boosters commonly fail on this model. He repaired it and less than a year later it has failed again. I heard the air leak when pressing the pedal and the car does not stop, it continues to roll. I've had to park it because this is a safety issue. I do not want to risk my life or cause property damage. The car has less than 130,000 miles on it and no warning lights or messages come on the dash for this. This repair was over $600 but the manufacturer should fix this and make sure it's right and safe.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving 10 MPH and coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond as intended. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with brake master cylinder failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
Rear back up camera is inverted. Has been for many years. Ford says no fix. There has been many recalls for this problem on other model years. Why not this year, 2011
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be registered due to the incomplete recall of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V659000 (Structure). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the recall repair could not be completed because the part for the repair had been discontinued. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be returned due to the incomplete safety recall. The vehicle remained at the dealer for two months. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN could not be removed from the recall. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the brake pedal was firm while depressing with an abnormal hissing sound coming from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the braking distance was extended. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with power brake booster unit failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 197,000.

See attached document for complaint.
This back up camera has been an issue almost immediately after I got the car. Now the picture is upside down and has lines across the screen. I am on disability and I need my camera. That's one of the reasons I bought the car. Please fix this ASAP
My camera has been upside down and or blank or won't show anything half the time and took to the dealer and they said they cant fix it because software issue but Ford has recalled other cars cameras for the same issue. Can't see behind me very well due to camera malfunction almost every time in reverse.
Rear backup camera has inverted picture and sometimes blank picture. I see recalls for newer Edge models with same problem but not the 2011. Second issue: sometimes the door ajar light is displayed on dash when doors are closed. Usually indicates driver door. Close several times and then it will finally work again. Has caused battery to run down in past if not caught before leaving vehicle. This is random as to when it happens, but I see online that it’s a common problem.
This is in reference to Field Service Action 13N02 with codes P2195 and P2197. There was an extended warranty, but I never knew that as I bought the vehicle pre-owned. I am a college student and the vehicle poses a danger as I am not able to stop every time. I called the local Ford dealership, and without even looking at the vehicle. He said, yes we know about the issue, but it's to late for you to have it repaired for free. I am filing a complaint with with the Wyoming Attorney General as well, and looking into a civil action. I want to make sure I document everything in case there is a serious injury or death.
First it's been a great car.but out of no where my body control module started to get hot .now it has problems starting and keeping power
the hazard lights will turn on while driving, and or while the vehicle is parked, thus draining the battery. The button to turn them on and or off is a "pressure sensitive" button which fails from the swelling of heat and or moisture. This is a major issue as the vehicle can't be driven now since the hazards just turn on and off.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, during traffic, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle came to a stop afterward. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence without additional failure. The contact called the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was provided Customer Satisfaction Number: 13N02. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
I recently bought this vehicle July 3, 2025 I have got it diagnosed and I have got everything replaced that was needed I have got a replacement battery, started, and alternator checked by different people everyone is saying they are good. But I keep getting "BATTERY SAVER-SYSTEM OFF please turn ignition off or start the engine" and it has shut down completely while I was in traffic and hesitant while driving and when I turn on the truck it says "SYNC performing scheduled system maintenance " and it has a loading bar underneath it. At this point I do not know what else to DO PLEASE HELP !!!!
This issue happened back June 2025 when I make a wide turn, the car automatically go into limp mode and all the lights on the dashboard that is related to the brake system comes on, so for example, the advanced traction control sensor, the brake mode, the traction mode and the ABS mode and this is very dangerous because I realize when I am driving locally, and if I’m in the middle of a major intersection, I can be struck because I would have to immediately turn my car off turn it back on and then it will start moving again. Sometimes it takes a while for it to start moving again.
Backup camera is showing picture upside down and blurred also get message to contact dealer
Overheating && electrical !!!! It’s been over heating since I got the dealership fixed it free of charge I’m still having the same problem I looked it up there are 3 recalls that’s I’m having the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH
As I applied the brakes to stop the vehicle, the vehicle didn't automatically stop. It felt as if I didn't press the brakes. The vehicle continued. I will take the vehicle to the mechanic. The vehicle hasn't been inspected yet. There were no warning indicators.
There were three recalls listed on your site that are no longer active which perfectly describe what is going on with my car at the moment we have had major electrical problems with it we have had problems with the tailgate not latching and opening while driving down the road also overheating when stopped at a light all of a sudden the air conditioner starts blowing hot air and it shoots up and overheats while you're idling out of traffic light the electrical system is totally messed up I can't even begin to list everything that has gone wrong with that the lights being turned on when we're not in the car to the no key in car actually going down the road it shut down no key and we were able to get it back on again but for a minute I thought that the car was going to stop moving it seems that this model car has had these issues in the past that recalls have been put out for but nothing is active for it right now and we're experiencing what was going on in those recalls I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me my daughter drives his car to school and she has been stranded several times I don't feel that it's safe for her to drive in this condition please let me know if there's anything you can do to reinstate any of these recalls to Goodwill type extension of these recalls I don't know what to do at this point because all of this is very expensive to fix I am [XXX] she is a student I just want her to be able to drive a car that she's not going to get hurt in or be stranded someplace thank you for taking the time to look at this and I will hope to hear from you again my email is [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera displayed a blank or upside-down image. The contact stated that the rearview camera had previously been replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. My 2011 Ford Edge stalled on the freeway March 1st 2025. I had purchased the car in 2019, and kept up with regular maintenance. My mechanic tells me its an issue with the "water pump" thats is connected to the timing belt, and that the engine has been flooded? Now I need to replace my engine! I looked into it and it turns out THOUSANDS of others have gone through this too. Someone needs to have this car/engine PULLED off the market. When I purchased it, it was supposed to be a reliable car for my family, now I dont know what I'm going to do because Ford just doesn't care about their customers.
ABS module valves stick open resulting in low soft brake pedal. Master cylinder has been replaced and vacuum bled with problem still occurring. I feel this is a safety item and ford should stand behind this issue till the end of service life of the vehicle. the repair part is hard to find and expensive.
Rear back up camera not working says to contact dealer Camera freezes turns upside down 4 years ago replaced camera that did the same thing This is the second camera that has failed
Front drivers Door will not open from outside of vehicle
Rear backup camera is not working telling me to contact ford dealership when I'm backing up and is delayed on showing it I've tried resetting it and it still don't work
My brakes are hard as a rock cause me to use more force on the brakes to stop and there is hissing coming from brake booster when I apply the brakes on my vehicle causing prolonged stopping distance called ford and they said there was no recalls on that vin which their "recalls is vin specific" yet all the vehicles use the same brake booster that is installed on this vehicle. It was hard to stop even going at low speeds under 10mph
I have a 2011 ford edge sel the brakes are hard as a rock causing more force to be used to stop the vehicle even being driven under 5mph. This is a major saftey issue that should've been in ford's previous recall. The vehicle was manufactured at the Oakville plant in Canada which was ford's recalled vehicles. I contacted ford and they informed me it was vin specific which my vehicle wasn't covered by the recall but yet it's having the same issues as the others that were recalled from the same assembly facility. I was told to take it to a dealership and keep the receipts of it being fixed just incase there is a recall on the vehicle later on. I'm not the only person having issues with these issues with less then 200,000 miles on their vehicles. Ford knew there was a problem with the vehicles which they should have recalled all the ones from that assembly plant and fixed them.
When applying breaks in the snow, the antilock breaks fail. I loose control of breaking and car acts like the breaks are gone. This has happened many times in the snow. Car has been tied several times for no breaks. When it gets to the shop breaks are working. Shop released any air in antilock breaks but this continues to happen when breaks are locked up.
Brakes they do not stop it is available for inspection , I was on the highway when the brake pedal went to the floor and I had to roll to stop and yes Jtr repair has confirmed the master cylinder and ABS SUSTEM IS FAULTY no warning it just happened and it happened about a week ago the car is currently parked
My brakes are not working at all brake goes to the floor

Brakes going to floor and very little stopping power. HCU failure caused by DOT3 brake fluid causing dump valve in block to stay stuck open. 2nd replacement valve from Ford and again it happened almost causing an accident. This issue is becoming to common across these HCU ford uses. This should be recalled and consumers should be advised. Ford advised that we maybe try DOT4 brake fluid and purchase another HCU. This is our 3rd one in 6 years.
Hard brake with a whistle sound while pushing
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 60 - 70 MPH, the brake pedal was firm while depressed and went to the floorboard. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that because the VIN was not originally included in the Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N02 - Supplement #1, the VIN would also be excluded from the updated program extension coverage under Supplement #2. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.
NHTSA Request #1576215 | Ford Motor Company [XXX] I am filing a complaint as suggested by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Vehicle Safety Hotline Information Center. My 2011 Ford Edge is experiencing the same symptoms as indicated in a safety recall for failure of the backup camera, however my vehicle/equipment is not included in the recall. The camera was replaced and paid for out of pocket in 2021 due to the same issue. I requested that Ford Motor Company provide a Customer Satisfaction Program for my vehicle's back up camera. We paid $1,072.46 ($485.00 for the camera + $587.46 in labor charges) to replace the defective back up camera 1/28/2021 after the technician at Mike Marone Ford in Longmont, CO verified our concern and confirmed that the backup camera was inoperable and had failed. This repair came with a 2 year unlimited mileage parts and labor warranty. When the camera failed again in 2023, I called the same dealership to ask about the repairs and was told the warranty had expired a few months prior and there was nothing they could do other than have us pay to replace the camera again. They performed an inspection and confirmed the camera is inoperable. Shortly thereafter we received SAFETY recall notification 23S23/NHTSA Recall 23V342 for an inoperative rear camera for our 2020 Ford Explorer. I was hopeful that Ford realized the camera was defective and would replace the camera in our 2011 Ford Edge as part of that same recall, as the safety notification stated "The loss of the rear camera image while in reverse increases the risk of a crash". I called Ford Motor Company I was told by the customer service agent I spoke with, that this was a VIN specific recall notice and she could not honor the recall for 2011 Ford Edge. followed up with Ford asking them to reconsider their decision, and was told they could not overrule the initial decision. The passenger door warning keeps coming on saying door ajar and keeps lights illuminated until I manually move latch on door to catch
I'm not sure if it's electrical or the transmission. My car is not going on parking gear. The car don't start abs the shifter is not moving. My car shifter was on parking gear, but on the dash it's not showing it's on parking. My safety concern is that the car rolls (moves) even though the car is off , no keys in the ignition. It's on parking but on the dash it's not displaying thr it's on parking gear. I need to apply the emergency breaks to keep the car from rolling ( moving) if the emergency breaks goes off the vehicle is going to roll causing to crash. I removed the cover to see if there was something causing the shifter from not moving. Then I took it to the nearest auto repair. I explained the issue and concern. They state the the shifter cable needs to be replaced. I took my vehicle to a mechanic for a second opinion he said it not the shifter cable. I never had this problem until recently. There was no warning it just didn't want to start. Now it is not go on parking gear. And it only starts un nneutraland to turned it off . I have to put it on reverse gear in order to retrieve my keys. And the emergency break must be on if not the car will roll.
