BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE STOPPING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED IN TRAFFIC. BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED AT 58K, BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED AT 32K. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 65K. DEALERSHIP UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEM.
WHILE MOVING BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND WOULD NOT STOP VEHICLE FORD HAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM NUMBER 13N02 FOR REPAIRS TO FAILING BRAKE BOOSTER FORD ALSO WILL NOT SUPPLY LOANER VEHICLE WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL VEHICLE IS AT 71,000 MILES
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE NO HORIZONTAL, ONLY VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT ALLOWED AND CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED SO AS TO LIGHT THE ROAD FULL WIDTH WHICH, CAUSES PARKED CARS AND SUCH TO BE OVERLOOKED AND POSSIBLY STRUCK. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AFTER DARK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY RISK AND SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. FORD MOTOR CO. MUST BE MADE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRAFFIC CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. I WENT TO APPLY MY BRAKE BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW. I HAD TO STOMP AS HARD AS I COULD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP BEFORE ALMOST COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. CAME WITHIN INCHES OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. ONCE HOME, I PUT THE EDGE IN PARK, I PUSHED THE PEDAL VERY HARD & HEARD A HIGH PITCHED SQUEALING NOISE. INFORMED BY FORD THIS WAS DUE TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILING. I HAD THE BOOSTER REPLACED PREVIOUSLY IN 2016 WITH THE FIRST RECALL AND NOW 2 YEARS AND LESS THAN 15,000 MILES LATER, THE 2ND BOOSTER HAS FAILED. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 74,451 AND I AM NOW ABOUT TO BE ON MY 3 BOOSTER. FORD WILL NOT COVER ANOTHER BREAK BOOSTER EVEN THOUGH EACH SHOULD LAST SOMEWHERE AROUND 100,000 MILES. I SPOKE WITH SERVICE DEPT AND WAS ADVISED THE RECALL REPLACED BOOSTER IS ONLY GUARANTEED FOR 1 YEAR OR 12,000 MILES WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. SERVICE TECH SAID HE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE ISSUE DUE TO FORD'S POLICY. SO GLAD THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY'S LIFE IS GOOD FOR 1 YEAR/12,000 WITH MY 3RD BREAK BOOSTER BEING INSTALLED AT MY EXPENSE TODAY. NO WARNINGS NO NOTHING, EDGE JUST WOULDN'T STOP. NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO BE HURT BEFORE SOMEONE WILL DO SOMETHING. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT IT'S CHEAPER FOR THEM TO PAY A LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT THAN TO FIX THE ISSUE. I'M SO GLAD I BOUGHT A FORD SO THAT I CAN SHELL OUT $800+ EVERY 2 YEARS FOR ANOTHER BRAKE BOOSTER IF I'M LUCKY ENOUGH TO SURVIVE FINDING OUT IT'S FAILED AGAIN.
ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STARTED TO COME ON WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLEARLY CLOSED. IT SINCE INCREASINGLY GOTTEN WORSE TO THE POINT WHERE IT ALWAYS COMES ON ANY TIME THE DOOR IS OPENED, AND SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AT NIGHT WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE AS THE DOME LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF, AS WELL AS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK, & IT CONTINUES TO DRAIN MY BRAND NEW BATTERY THAT WAS JUST INSTALLED.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BOOM. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD BLOWN A TIRE, BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SHAKING LIKE I HAD, I LOOKED IN THE BACK SEAT TO MAKE SURE MY SON WAS OK AND THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED MY SUN ROOF HAD SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT IT, IT JUST SHATTERED ON ITS OWN.
TAKATA RECALL BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP/ REPLACED POWER BRAKE BOOSTER
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD TAKING MY CHILD TO DAYCARE AND THEN GOING TO WORK LIKE WE DO EVERY DAY, WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. IT DIDN'T DIE, BUT IT JUST WOULDN'T LET ME ACCELERATE ANYMORE. I HAD TO TURN ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND GET OFF THE ROAD AS BEST AS I COULD SEEING AS HOW THERE WAS NO SHOULDER FOR ME TO PULL OVER ON. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT AND IT DROVE FINE AFTER THAT. I'VE LOOKED UP MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE SO I'M WORRIED THAT IT WILL CONTINUE HAPPENING AND WE MIGHT NOT BE SO LUCKY THE NEXT TIME. OF COURSE I JUST SURPASSED MY 100,000 WARRANTY SO THERE'S NO TELLING WHAT IT WILL COST TO FIX IT. SURELY FORD KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT THOUSANDS OF THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS SAME VEHICLE ARE HAVING. I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT YET.
I TOOK A LEFT TURN TO GET ONTO THE INTERSTATE ON 7/30/18 AT 7:45 AM. WHEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE ONTO INTERSTATE WITHOUT WARNING MY CAR STALLED AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER THANKFULLY AND TURN MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. MY CAR STARTED TO "JUMP" AND WAS BASICALLY STALLING OUT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN AFTER 5 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND IT RAN FINE. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR TWO DAYS. THEY TRIED TO RECREATE THE ISSUE BUT WERE UNABLE TO AND SAID THEY COULD NOT READ THE ERROR ON THE COMPUTER BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN "WIPED" OUT WHEN I RESTARTED MY CAR. THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK WHEN THE CAR STALLS AGAIN. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING A CAR THAT CAN STALL OUT AND LOSE POWER AT ANY MINUTE. I DRIVE A 24 MILE BRIDGE WITH NO SHOULDERS DAILY AND INTERSTATES. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY SON AROUND IN THIS CAR. FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME UNTIL THE CAR STALLS AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME NOT TO TURN IT OFF AND "LIMP" IT TO THE DEALERSHIP(DRIVE IT SLOWLY).
AS I WAS TRAVELLING HOME FORM VACATION MY CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE CAR MANUAL FOR THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS WARNING. THE MANUAL STATED THAT, "IF THIS WARNING STAYS ILLUMINATED, THEN IT MEANS THAT THE CAR IS DUE FOR A SERVICE MAINTENANCE. IF THE WARNING CONTINUES TO BLINK, THEN SERVICE IMMEDIATELY." I CONTINUED TO DRIVE FOR ANOTHER 5 MILES AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS IDLING LOW AND RUNNING ROUGH. I CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND THE WARNING SIGN FOR AN OVER HEATED ENGINE APPEARS. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WATER PUMP HAD BROKEN AND THAT MY ANTI FREEZE AND OIL HAD MIXED TOGETHER AND CIRCULATED THROUGH THE ENTIRE ENGINE PRETTY MUCH DAMAGING THE ENTIRE ENGINE. THE COST ESTIMATE TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE INSTALLED WOULD BE OVER $10,000, DUE TO THE WATER PUMP BEING INCASED IN THE ENGINE. THIS CAR HAD ONLY HAD 130,000 MILES ON IT, AND I REGULARLY KEPT UP WITH SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE. UPON ON LINE RESEARCH, IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT FORD IS MORE THAN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND CONTINUES TO NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME AND IT WILL NOW SIT THERE UNTIL I CAN REDUCE THE AMOUNT OWED ON THE VEHICLE AND TRADE IT IN. THE WORST PART OF THIS IS, THAT THERE WAS NO TYPE OF WARNING WHATSOEVER, NOR DID FORD EVER MAKE ME AWARE OF THIS BEING A PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY LIT.THE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT THE DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON.
WHEN CAR IS MOVING SOMETIMES WHEN YOU STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD AND YOU HAVE TO REALLY PUSH TO STOP THE VEHICLE
TIRE PRESSURE AND DOOR SENSORS FAILURE.
DOOR SENSOR STATES DOOR IS OPEN, WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND DOORS REMAIN UNLOCKED. CAN HAVE ISSUES WITH DOORS UNLOCKING WHEN PARKED, LEAVING A ISSUE FOR BEING ROBBED, ALSO LIGHTS CAN REMAIN ON WHICH WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY. LIGHTS WILL ALSO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS AN ISSUE AT NIGHT.
SYNC RADIO GOES IN AND OUT AND THE SCREEN GOES COMPLETELY DARK FOR AWHILE, SOMETIMES LAST HOURS AND SOMETIMES LASTING DAYS. DEALER CLAIMS THE RADIO IS UPDATING ITSELF. DURING THIS PERIOD THE BACKUP CAMERAS DON'T WORK ALONG OTHER FUNCTIONS CONNECTED TO THE SCREEN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AS WELLING AS STATIONARY TIMES.
WATER PUMP EXPLODED AND DESTROYED THE ENGINE WITH NO WARNING. THE CAR STOPPED WORKING AT 65 MILES AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY, LOST POWER, STEERING AND BRAKES. THE CAR WAS FULLY SERVICED AND PASSED INSPECTION ONLY 10 DAY BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO WARNING BY INSTRUMENTS ON THE DASHBOARD. ONLY A LOSS OF POWER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,000.
WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD TO COMPLETELY STOP THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING! MASTER CYLINDER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL RECURRED.
FRONT DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF/STAYS ON. DRAINING MY BATTERY THIS HAPPENED TO MY BACK DOOR 4 YEARS AGO. HOWEVER, AT LEAST I WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
WHEN BACKING UP I HAVE THE REAR VIEW CAMERA BUT I DO NOT HAVE ANY GUIDANCE LINES. I STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TUTTLE-CLICK FORD LINCOLN (949-472-5200, LOCATED AT 43 AUTO CENTER DR, IRVINE, CA 92618), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEARNY PEARSON FORD (858-560-5544, LOCATED AT 7303 CLAIREMONT MESA BLVD, SAN DIEGO, CA 92111) WHERE THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
THE DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND WHEN I DO TRY, IT COMES UNLOCKED AND THE LIGHTS STAY ON. THE CONTROL DINGS TO TELL E THE DOOR IS WHAT.
I OWN A 2011 FORD EDGE LIMITED WITH A 3.5L, 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN FAITHFULLY MAINTAINED SINCE I PURCHASED IT AT ~30,000 MILES. ON 5/25/2018 WHILE DRIVING OUT-OF-STATE AND WITH APPROXIMATELY 120,000 MILES THE VEHICLE BEGAN EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS OF STALLING AT STOPS AND WHILE PARKING; THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATIONS OF TROUBLE. PULLING OFF THE ROAD I INSPECTED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID FIRST, SINCE THAT SEEMED THE MOST-LIKELY CULPRIT. DURING THIS CHECK I OVERHEARD A LOT OF NOISE AS HOT COOLANT WAS BEING EJECTED INTO THE COOLANT OVERFLOW RESERVOIR AND IT WAS WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED THAT THE OVERHEAT INDICATOR FIRST SOUNDED. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE I NOTICED WATER ON THE PAVEMENT UNDER THE VEHICLE. I ARRANGED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE COOLANT PUMP HAD FAILED. THOUGH COMPLETELY WITHOUT SYMPTOMS UNTIL THE FINAL FEW MINUTES, BECAUSE THE PUMP IS DRIVEN BY THE ENGINE'S TIMING CHAIN, ENOUGH DAMAGE HAD BEEN DONE THAT A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF COOLANT HAD ENTERED THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE WOULD START, BUT PRESSURES IN CYLINDERS 2 AND 4 WERE COMPROMISED AND UNKNOWN OTHER DAMAGE HAD OCCURRED. THE FORD SERVICE ADVISED THAT THE PUMP REPLACEMENT WOULD COST ON THE ORDER OF $2,000 AND THAT LIFE-EXPECTANCY FOR THE PART WAS 150,000 MILES - TWO NUMBERS THAT SEEM INCONGRUOUS BY THEMSELVES FOR A MAINTENANCE ITEM. IN ADDITION, THE ABSENCE OF A COOLING SYSTEM WARNING FACILITATED DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHILE CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE WAS CAUSED TO THE ENGINE.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON EVEN IF THE DOOR IS LATCHED.
VEHICLE STALLS DURING OPERATION. THIS HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 60 DAYS. IT GOES INTO LIMP MODE SHOWING " AWD OFF" AND THE "WRENCH" ICON. CONTACTED FORD CONCERNING THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16B23 RELATED TO THIS BUT WAS DENIED COVERAGE.THE VEHICLE SAT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THREE DAYS WITHOUT THEM BEING ABLE TO REPEAT THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM WILL RESET WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, AND NO HISTORY IS CAPTURED. THE CODE THAT WE JUST DISCOVERED DURING AN EPISODE IS A P2111 CODE ACQUIRED BY A CAN BUSS READER AS IT HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED IT OFF AND IT RESET. THIS IS DANGEROUS ! MY GRANDCHILDREN RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE.THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 55K MILES SINCE NEW. IT'S FRUSTRATING TO KNOW THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CHOOSES TO REFUSE THE PROBLEM UNTIL SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED.
I BRAKED HARD ON A NORMAL 3-LANE CITY STREET TO AVOID AN INCIDENT. I WAS GOING STRAIGHT, NOT TURNING. THERE SEEMED TO BE NO UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN AN UNEXPECTED NEED TO 'SLAM ON THE BRAKES' TO AVOID A BAD DRIVER. FROM THAT POINT 30-60 DAYS AGO, MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SOFT/SPONGY. (THIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE BUT CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER A FEW DAYS.) THE BRAKE PEDAL PASSES ITS 'NORMAL' POINT OF EFFECTIVENESS AND ENGAGES ONLY CAUTIOUSLY ONCE PRESSED FURTHER TO THE FLOOR. HAVE PAID FORD $270 TO HAVE THE BRAKES BLED AND DIAGNOSED'A FAULTY HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THIS SEEMS TO BE COMMON WITH MULTIPLE FORD MODELS. PLEASE RESEARCH WHETHER A RECALL CAN BE ISSUED AS MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN MAINTAINED AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ~$1500 FOR A FAULTY PART USED BY FORD'ESPECIALLY SUCH A CRITICAL ONE, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT COSTS ALMOST $300 TO DIAGNOSE. ADDITIONALLY, FORD ALREADY HAS ISSUED AN 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' RELATED TO ITS BRAKE BOOSTER IN MY YEAR MODEL VEHICLE. WHILE THE RECALL INDICATES A SPONGY BRAKE AS A SIGN OF THIS TROUBLE, THE FORD TECH CONTRADICTED THE WARRANTY DESCRIPTION AND STATED THAT A FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER WOULD CREATE A STIFF BRAKE INSTEAD. WHICH IS IT, FORD? PLEASE RESEARCH BOTH AND FORD'S RESPONSE AND ENSUING DIAGNOSES RELATED TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER EXTENDED WARRANTY. THANK YOU.
MY WIPER BLADES GO WILL GO OFF ABOUT EVERY 5-10 SECONDS AND KNOW IS IN OFF POSITION. MY VEHICLE CAN BE IN PARK OR IN MOTION AND STILL THE SAME. I'VE TWISTED THE KNOW ON AND OFF AND STILL THEY WILL NOT TURN OFF. STARTED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO AND STILL GOING

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WINNER FORD (591 S DUPONT HWY, DOVER, DE); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST SINCE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON DESPITE ALL DOORS BEING CLOSED. THIS IN TURN PROHIBITS THE DOORS TO LOCK ON THE VEHICLE (WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED).THE DOME LIGHT WILL TURN ON INTERMITTENTLY, THIS INCLUDES DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED - BOTH CREATING MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. BATTERY DRAINAGE - BEING LEFT WITH AN INOPERABLE VEHICLE. VISIBILITY - SEVERE GLARE AND LIMITED VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING IN DARKNESS. PERSONAL SAFETY - DOORS NOT LOOKING CREATES A THREAT TO PERSONAL SAFETY (THERE IS A REASON CAR DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF TAKEOFF - PERSONAL SAFETY). IN ADDITION TO THIS, THE BACKUP CAMERA WENT OUT AT 50000MILES. SO DISAPPOINTED!
CAR STALLS AFTER SLOWING, ALMOST STOPPED ON A CITY STREET. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR (4) TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS. AFTER COASTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNING IGNITION OFF, CAR RESTARTS AND RESUMES NORMAL OPERATION.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON. YOU HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. I DROVE MY CAR WITH LIGHT ON AS I COULD NOT GET IT TOO GO OFF. MY DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT. NOT TO MENTION IT'S DANGEROUS THAT THE DOOR DOESN'T LOCK UPON GETTING IN IT, IF YOU WERE TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM A BAD SITUATION. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH MY CAR FOR OVER A MONTH.
THE MORNING OF 4-3-2018 I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY CAR. AS I BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE THE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED THE DOOR LATCHES DID NOT LOCK. WHEN I DEPRESSED THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON THE LATCHES CLOSED THEN POPPED RIGHT BACK OPEN, LEAVING ALL DOORS IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION, UNLOCKED. WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF THE RADIO SHUTS IMMEDIATELY AND DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON. I SPRAYED WD40 IN THE LATCHING MECHANISM WHICH DID NO GOOD. THIS UNSAFE CONDITION STILL EXISTS.

MY ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP FROM 55MPH TO APPROX. 20MPH TO GO STRAIGHT AT A RED LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN BEFORE I CAME TO A STOP. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE TURNED OFF AND ALL SYSTEMS IN THE CAR DID AS WELL INCLUDING POWER STEERING. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR AS IT SLOWED TO ALMOST A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION ON A GREEN LIGHT. I WAS LUCKILY TO ABLE TO COAST AT APPROX. 5PMH TO THE END OF THE INTERSECTION BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPPED AND THE CAR BEHIND ME DIDN'T HIT ME, THEY WENT AROUND. I HAD TO GET HELP PUSHING IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AFTER THAT TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT SINCE IT STOPPED IN THE ROAD. WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED THE DASH LIT UP WITH A PICTURE OF THE ENGINE AND SAID TO CHECK POWER TO ENGINE. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFOREHAND. I DO ALL MY OIL CHANGES AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER INDICATOR THAT SOMETHING WOULD HAVE BEEN WRONG. AFTER THIS INCIDENT AND GETTING THE CAR HOME IT NOW HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WON'T RUN CORRECTLY. WE CHANGED THE BATTERY DUE TO THE WORDING ABOUT ENGINE POWER AND THAT DIDN'T HELP. WHAT I AM MOST CONCERNED AND UPSET ABOUT IS AFTER THIS HAPPENED WE LOOKED THE PROBLEM UP ONLINE AND IT IS HAS HAPPENED TO HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE. IF ANY OTHER PROBLEMS HAPPENED THAT MANY TIMES THAT CAUSED INJURIES THIS WOULD BE A RECALL AND CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY. BUT BECAUSE OUT OF LUCK I WAS ON A RURAL 1 STOP LIGHT ROAD AND NO CARS HIT ME AS MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY FAILED ON ME, IT ISN'T. I'VE RECEIVED NO NOTICES AND BOUGHT IT USED FROM A DEALER. I COMMUTE TO WORK EVERY DAY AND I AM SO THANKFUL THIS WASN'T ON A WORK DAY ON THE FREEWAY WHERE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO COMPLETELY STOP. OR DROPPING OFF MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. I AM HONESTLY SCARED TO GET IT 'FIXED' AND IT HAPPEN AGAIN WITH NO WARNING. OR PUT MY KIDS IN A CAR THAT PUTS US IN DANGER.
THE DRIVERS DOOR AJAR SENSOR COMES ON ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING AND I CAN'T LOCK THE CAR DOORS WHILE DRIVING. ALSO THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OUT AFTER PARKING AND LOCKING THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 3 WEEKS NOW.

THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASY I REPLACED THIS ON 2/13/2016, LATER FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL AND WAS REIMBURSED IN 2014 BUT ON 2/26/2018 IT WENT OUT AGAIN AN REPLACED AT MY OUT OF POCKET AGAIN. I ASK IS THIS A FIX OR JUST A REPLACEMENT NO ONE WILL ANSWER ME. THIS IS DANGEROUS, THE CAR JUST STOPS NO POWER, IF IN HEAVY TRAFFIC COULD BE HIT FROM THE REAR, NOT GOOD. IS THE REPLACEMENT A FIX OE JUST A REPLACEMENT?
THE AWS LIGHT STAYS ON AND SAYS THE DRIVER STABILITY CONTROLS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING, CHARGED 800 PLUS AND THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING. THEY CLAIM IT'S A SENSOR ISSUE BUT IT'S STILL HAPPENING! IF I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, IF IT'S WET OR DRY THE LIGHT COMES ON AND WHEN BREAKING THE SUV SLIDES. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD AGAIN. NOT SURE OF THE ACTUAL DATE THE ISSUE STARTED HAPPENING.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR JUNE 10TH 2017, IT IS NOW FEBRUARY 19TH 2018 AND MY BRAKES HAVE WENT OUT 4 TIMES. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME RECENTLY IT HAS HAPPENED, THE 3 TIMES BEFORE THEY WERE SAID TO BE FIXED. I WAS IN THE SNOW ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD WHEN THEY WENT OUT. I AM AFRAID IF THIS CAR CONTINUES TO DRIVE SOMEONE WILL BE SEVERELY HURT FROM THE IN-ABILITY TO STOP THE VEHICLE CORRECTLY.

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT FOR MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT TURN OFF. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD, AS I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY DOOR IS CLOSED OR ACTUALLY AJAR AND I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY OFTEN. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY I BOUGHT WITH MY CAR, AND WAS SOLD THIS AS BUMPER-TO-BUMPER EVERYTHING COVERED BESIDES THE BRAKES AND TIRES. THE FORD SERVICE CENTER WANTED $450 TO REPAIR SINCE THEY WON'T COVER THIS UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY WON'T GIVE ME MY CAR BACK WITHOUT PAYING A $100 DIAGNOSTICS FEE. 10 SECONDS ON GOOGLE SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ALREADY BEING INVESTIGATED BY NHTSA. PLEASE DO NOT LET UP. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED, OR COVERED UNDER WARRENTY.
ON JUNE 24, 2015 THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD TO REPLACE THE SEAT TRACK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT WAS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION AND WOULD GRIND WHEN YOU TRIED TO MOVE IT WITH THE POWER SWITCH. NOW 2/1/2018 THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT IS NOT SECURE AND IT ROCKS WHEN YOU ACCELERATE AND BRAKING. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME TODAY THAT THE TRACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. COST TO ME WOULD BE $1,640.00. A QUICK SCAN OF THE "FORD EDGE FORUM" INDICATED AT LEAST 18 REPORTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. TO ME THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I SPOKE WITH FORD'S CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT THIS MORNING 2/1/2018 AND THEY ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND WILL LET ME KNOW WHAT FORD WILL DO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF THIS PROBLEM. A SOLUTION BY FORD SHOULD BE FOUND AND A RECALL SHOULD GO OUT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL.
THE LEFT REAR DOOR CLOSED SWITCH FAILED CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THIS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO BE DRAINED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED, STRANDING MY DAUGHTER AND MOTHER-IN-LAW.
FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS MY PASSENGER DOOR SAYS OPEN AND LEAVES LIGHT ON KILLING MY BATTERY AND THE DOOR IS CLOSED
AFTER ABS KICKED IN, PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR EXTENDING BREAKING DISTANCE. HCU IS THE PROBLEM. TEMPORARILY RESOLVED BY BREAKING HARD ON SNOW TILL RESET
MY VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WHERE THE HUD WILL STAY ON OCCASIONALLY AFTER TURNING OFF MY CAR AND LEAVING IT. THIS DRAINS MY BATTERY, LEAVING MY CAR COMPLETELY DEAD. AT ONE TIME IT WAS UNABLE TO EVEN JUMP START. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF. ALSO, ANY OF MY CONTROLS FOR RADIO/VOLUME/CRUISE CONTROL/ETC. WILL OFTEN FREEZE OR SUDDENLY JUMP UP OR DOWN. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY, REGARDLESS IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT.
OUR 2011 FORD EDGE,WHICH WE BOUGHT NEW FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP,NOW HAS AN ODOMETER READING OF JUST OVER17,000 MILES.AFTER EXPERIENCING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COMING ON AND REMAINING ON WITHOUT THE SWITCH BEING USED OR THE DOORS OPENE,WE NOTICED THAT THE'DRIVERS DOOR AJAR' WARNING CAME ON AND THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY CLOSED TIGHTLY.THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCKS WOULD ENGAGE AND RELEASE REPEATEDLY WHILE DRIVING.THIS WAS THE GREATEST CAUSE OF ALARM FOR US BECAUSE OUR SMALL GREAT GRANDCHILDREN OFTEN RIDE WITH US. OUR BATTERY WENT BAD AND FROM WHAT I CAN DETERMINE,THIS MAY BE THE REASON.MY WIFE IS THE PRINCIPAL OPERATOR AND NO LONGER FEELS SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS PROBLEM EXISTING.I HAVE CONTACTED FOMOCO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THERE IS NO RECOURSE OTHER THAN PAY THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE ACTUATOR.I FEEL THAT AS MANY PROBLEMS AS HAVE OCCURRED WITH THESE PARTS,A RECALL SHOULD ALREADY HAVE BEEN DONE BY FORD...THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC AND ALSO WHILE PARKED IN OUR DRIVE.THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME THIS OPPORTUNITY.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
