HAD LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH NO WARNING. WRENCH LIGHT ON DASH COMES ON AND CAR SLOWS TO APPROXIMATELY 10MPH. ACCELERATOR HAD NO RESPONSE, BRAKES AND STEERING STILL WORKED.
SAFETY RECALL DRIVER DOOR SENCER ON MY DASH BOARD REGISTERS MY DOOR ISN'T CLOSED. DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND MY DOORS WON'T LOCK.NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES U CLOSE IT IT WON'T CUT OFF. CONCERNS ME BECAUSE WHAT IF MY DOOR ISN'T CLOSED AND IT OPENS UP WHILE DRIVING. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR USED. I ALSO SMELL BURNING RUBBERY HEY MY VENTS WHEN IDLING.
2 TIMES TODAY I LOST POWER AND MY CAR CRAWLED OUT OF THE ROAD. THE WRENCH LIT UP AND AFTER I STOPPED AND RESTARTED CAR IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. FIRST TIME WAS PULLING INTO WORK THEN AFTER WORK ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE FIXING IT. SAID IT WAS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY CONTROL MODULE. BEFORE THEY CALLED BACK I LOOKED THIS UP AND THERE WERE MANY STATEMENTS ON THIS HAPPENNING. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I DON'T KNOW WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL BEFORE THERE ARE ANY LAWSUITS FROM PEOPLE DIEING.
DRIVER-SIDE DOOR LATCH. CONSTANT DOOR AJAR ALERT. WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS TO LOCK AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A MONTH PRIOR TO THIS POST.
WHEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS SHUT LIGHT STAYS ON AND SAYS DOOR IS AJAR, MAKES BATTERY RUN OUT OF JUICE. PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS OFF AT ALL TIMES EVEN WHEN PASSENGER IS SITTING IN SEAT.
WHILE DRIVING CAR JUST SHUTS OFF, CANNOT ACCELERATE . WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND NUMEROUS FORDS HAVE SAME ISSUE. THEY ALL COME BACK WITH THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO ASK ABOUT ISSUE AND TO SEE IF ANY RECALLS ARE OUT. NO WAS THE ANSWER. HOW CAN THERE BE NO RECALLS WHEN THERE ARE HUNDREDS (PROBABLY THOUSANDS) HAVING THIS PROBLEM. FORD ESCAPE, EXPLORER AND SOME TRUCKS DID HAVE A RECALL....WHY NOT THE EDGE. I'M AM ABOUT TO PUT OUT OVER 600 DOLLARS TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO ISSUE A RECALL AND STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I'M JUST GRATEFUL THAT OUT OF THE 7 OR 8 TIMES THIS HAPPENED THAT NOBODY WAS HURT OR WORSE MAKE FORD STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS...[XXX] IT I'M SICK OF PUTTING OUT THOUSANDS AND GETTING CRAP IN RETURN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS ILLUMINATED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT LOCKED DESPITE THE LOCKS BEING ACTIVATED. THE INTERIOR LIGHTING ALSO REMAINED ILLUMINATED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DASH SHOWS THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONT DOOR IS AJAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS CLOSED. IF I SLAM THE DOOR IT WORKS.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON, ALTHOUGH DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I'VE NOTICED IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT LEVEL. ALSO, THE CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY
WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR THE DOOR LATCH DOESN'T LATCH PROPERLY AND THE WARNING LIGHT THE DOOR IS AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON KEEPING DOME LIGHTS LIT. DOOR CAN BE OPENED AND CLOSED 5,6 TIMES AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. SOMETIMES THE DOOR DOESN'T EVEN LATCH, NON OF THE DOORS LOCK, AND AT NIGHT ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH DOME LIGHTS LIT. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR ONCE SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD NEED TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. I SO MAD I'M READY TO TRADE THE CAR IN ON A TOYOTA. TO MAKE THE ISSUE WORSE IS EVERY CAR YOU'VE MADE SINCE I BOUGHT THIS HAS HAD DOOR LATCH RECALLS. MY BOYFRIEND JUST GOT A RECALL (15S16) FOR HIS 2013 FUSION AND HE HAS NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH HIS DOORS. I'M JUST WAITING FOR THE DOOR TO COME OPEN AGAIN WHILE I'M DRIVING. BACK UP CAMERA NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHEN PARKING AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE DOME LIGHT AND DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND WOULD ONLY GO OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THE DOOR AJAR LAMP INDICATES THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR IS AJAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS ANY OF THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED.
VEHICLE CUT OUT WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, AWD OFF-WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME, VEHICLE WAS IN A LIMP HOME CONDITION. NEXT DAY ATTEMPT, SAME INCIDENT, AWD LIGHT AND THEN ENGINE LIGHT ON = CODE P2111. THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY.
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING WILL NOT TURN OFF. MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHEN TRAVELING,
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR ALWAYS PRESENT. CAUSES A VARIETY OF ISSUES FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK/UNLOCK CAR HANDS-FREE, AUTOLOCK WHEN DRIVING DOESN'T WORK, AND RECENTLY, THE ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY. THIS REALLY IS A PROBLEM. WOULDN'T BUY A FORD AGAIN BASED ON THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR THAT DON'T SEEM TO BE WILLING TO BE ADDRESSED.
TAKATA RECALL: DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN TRYING TO LOCK MY VEHICLE BY REMOTE OR MANUALLY AFTER PARKING. DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM ENTERING OR EXITING THE VEHICLE. THIS WARNING LIGHT IS ON WHILE I AM DRIVING, AND IT TURNS ON WHEN STARTING ENGINE. IT WILL HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY AT VARIOUS TIMES SUCH AS, THERE ARE TIMES THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AND THE DRIVER DOOR IS LOCKED, ONCE I AM FINALLY ABLE TO LOCK IT. WHENEVER THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COMES ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON (OTHER TIMES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON AND OFF AGAIN AFTER A MINUTE), AND I WOULD HAVE TO WORK ON GETTING MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT OFF AGAIN. VERY, VERY ANNOYING, AND I HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED SEPTEMBER 2015, AND IT ALL STARTED A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING IT. I LOVE MY CAR, BUT I HATE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A FAULTY ISSUE THAT I DID NOT CAUSE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO ME EVERY SINGLE DAY, EVERY TIME I USE MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALLS. THIS HAS BECOME WORSE, AND I AM STARTING TO DISTRUST ANY FORD VEHICLES. SOMETHING REALLY HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS!
CAR WIL GRADUALLY SLOW DOWN LEADING TO A COMPLETE STOP. POWER TO THE ENGINE SEEMS TO DECREASE AND SPEED SLOWS. HAPPENED 4 TIMES OVER SEVERAL WEEKS. IT WOULD HAPPEN THEN AN HOUR LATER CAR WOULD BE COMPLETELY FINE AND DRIVE OK FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN HAPPEN AGAIN. HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS DRIVING AT 30-50 MPH ON NORMAL CITY STREETS (NOT HIGHWAY) WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY IDENTIFIED THE THROTTLE BODY AS THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. OUR VIN IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM THOUGH; WHICH WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND - MEETS THE YEAR/MAKE/MODEL AND CHARACTERISTICS OF ISSUE. EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR WE HAVE ALSO HAD LINGERING ELECTRICAL ISSUES - SEPARATE OF THE THROTTLE BODY, THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY -- DRIVE DOOR LIGHT SAYS OPEN AND IT'S NOT, TAILLIGHTS RANDOMLY FLASH WHEN CAR IS OFF AND NO ONE IS IN CAR, ETC. WE ARE THINKING THIS ONE WAS JUST A DUD. WE ALSO OWN ANOTHER FORD EDGE 2014 MODEL - NO ISSUES. CAR IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED FOR THE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. WE CAN PROVIDE RECEIPTS / INFO ONCE WE PICK IT UP. CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THAT VEHICLES IDENTIFIED FOR THE RECALL WERE BASED ON DATE OF MANUFACTURE AND LOCATION - THEY MUST'VE MISSED US.
THE 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STAYS ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN ALL DOORS ARE PROPERLY LATCHED. THIS MALFUNCTION DISABLES THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING FEATURE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN THE DRIVE POSITION. IT ALSO CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND HAS CAUSED MY BATTERY TO BE DRAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO WHERE I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE JUMP STARTED. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WHICH POSES A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME IN DARK PARKING LOTS ETC.
DOOR LATCH ISSUES - DOOR LATCHES ARE FAULTY AND CAUSES BATTERY TO DRAIN, LIGHTS TO COME ON AND OFF, YOU ARE ALSO NOT SURE IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED OR OPEN (SAFETY ISSUE) I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. WHY NO RECALL
VEHICLE SLOWED AND SHUT-DOWN. DEALER STATED THROTTLE BODY HAD AN ELECTRICAL SHORT . UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION TO SAY THE LEAST. VEHICLE SHUT DOWN ON PUBLIC STREET..VEHICLE MILEAGE WAS 52,964.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH SENSOR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DOOR BEING CLOSED. "DOOR AJAR" COMES ON, INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS. I SLAM THE DOOR REPEATEDLY TO GET THE LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY TURN OFF. IVE HAD IT FIXED TWICE, ONCE AT MY OWN COST AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN FOR A THIRD TIME. IT IS NOT SAFE AND IT IS FRUSTRATING FORD REFUSES TO HELP
THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR IN THE DRIVERS DOOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. SHOWS A DOOR AJAR WARNING ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WHEN DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED TIGHT. THIS WARNING INDICATION PREVENT THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WHEN DRIVING. BIG SAFETY ISSUE! IT ALSO CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHT TO STAY ON, AND NIGHT TIME DRIVING WITH THAT INTERIOR LIGHT GLARE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE DOME LIGHTS HAVE ALSO STAYED ON WHEN PARKED, CAUSING THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD. DRIVER DOOR SHOWS A "DOOR AJAR" WARNING WHEN THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY FULLY CLOSED. WARNING REMAINS WHEN VECHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. CURRENTLY SLAMMING THE DOOR VERY HARD WILL PREVENT THE MESSAGE FROM COMING ON, BUT IS BECOME LESS EFFECTIVE.
I HAVE 2011 FORD EDGE LIMITED WITH 54K MILEAGE. IM GOING THROUGH SAME SITUATION RIGHT NOW. CAR STARTS TO DECELERATE ALL OF A SUDDEN AND IT COMES WITH MESSAGE ALL WHEEL DRIVE OFF AND A RANCH SIGN. FIRST TIME I HAD THIS ISSUE WAS ON 2/20/16 WHEN I WAS 7 MONTH PREGNANT AND ON MY WAY TO MY BABY SHOWER. I CALLED MY DEALER AD THEY SAID THEY CAN CHECK THE CAR BUT UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HELP AT ALL. MY HUSBAND STARTED DRIVING THE CAR AND IT SEEMED PROBLEM JUST WENT AWAY. WELL WE WERE WRONG BECAUSE THE PROBLEM CAME BACK AGAIN FROM LAST WEEK AND THIS TIME WE WERE IN HIGHWAY AND WE HAD OUR 12 WEEKS OLD SON IN THE CAR. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALER CURRENTLY AND APPARENTLY THEY THINK THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO THROTTLE BODY AND ITS GOING TO COST ME AT LEAST $700.00 AND NOT COVERED BY ANY TYPES OF WARRANTY. I'M SURPRISE FORD HASN'T BEEN SUED MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY SINCE ITS A KNOWN ISSUE AND LOTS OF FORD OWNER BEEN AFFECTED BY IT. THE SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DEPARTMENT ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP OR ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ITS A SAFETY ISSUE.
WHEN DRIVING IN CERTAIN DAYS ESPECIALLY AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING OVER THE WEEKEND YOU CAN SMELL EXHAUST FUMES IN THE CABIN
DOOR AJAR SWITCH FAILURE WHICH CAUSES ERROR NOTIFICATION AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON WHICH CAN LEAD TO BATTERY DRAINAGE, FAILURE, OR DAMAGE. ULTIMATELY, THIS BECOMES A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO POSSIBILITY OF BECOMING STRANDED IN AN UNSAFE LOCATION OR UNPOPULATED AREA. THIS INCIDENT OCCURS WHENEVER YOU OPEN AND CLOSE THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR. THERE APPEAR TO BE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR A SAFETY RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. DUE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM ON THE DOORS, THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOORS ARE STILL OPEN AND THE LIGHTS INSIDE DO NOT TURN OFF WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AND DRIVE WHEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS OF THE CAR ARE ON. COMPUTER KEEPS SAYING "DOOR AJAR". THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE $600 TO REPLACE THE LATCH MECHANISM AND THEY DON'T GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN

DOOR AJAR WARNING CAME ON WITH THE DOOR CLOSED HAS VERY QUICKLY GOT WORSE CAR WILL NOT LOCK PROPERLY WHEN OFF ANYONE CAN PRESS THE KEYPAD AND GET IN THE CAR SO POTENTIAL BREAK IN AND DOOR DO NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING SAFETY ISSUE IF MY DAUGHTER REACHES FOR THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AS I'M ABOUT TO SPEND HUNDREDS TO GET THIS FIXED AND IT COULD POTENTIALLY HAPPEN AGAIN !
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON BECAUSE OF A FAULTY SENSOR. ONLY COMES ON WHEN VEHICLE IS FIRST STARTED AND MAKES THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS USELESS. INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON, DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY, OR CAN THEY BE LOCKED REMOTELY. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH MANY FORD PRODUCTS.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME DUE TO A FAULTY DOOR LATCH. THIS ISSUE CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON DRAINING THE BATTERY AND CAUSING A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. ALSO, THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING, WHICH CAN BE A HAZARD IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. THE COST TO MAKE THIS REPAIR THROUGH FORD IS APPROXIMATELY $400, WHICH I DO NOT HAVE IN MY BUDGET. DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON . HAVE TO DRIVE AFTER SUNSET WITH DOME LIGHT ON. REPAIR BY FORD DEALER ON 7/2016 AND AGAIN ON 4/2017
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND SOFT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN VERY SLOWLY TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER WAS LEAKING AND THE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING MAINTENANCE PERFORMED, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE PRESSURE PLATE CRACKED AND AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,950.
EDGE LOSES POWER WRENCH COMES ON
WHILE DRIVING THE SUV THE THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND STARTED SPUTTERING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD BUT NOT ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLES ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARNING. THE "AWD LIGHT" WILL COME ON AND THE "WRENCH LIGHT" WILL START FLASHING THE VEHICLE WILL START TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS. ONCE IN EARLY APRIL 2016 AND AGAIN ON 6/24/16, AND THE NEXT DAY (TODAY) ON 6/25/16. ALL TIMES THE ROAD WAS DRY AND TEMPS WERE BETWEEN 70-80 DEGREES. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 55 MPH IN TRAFFIC ON ROADS WITHOUT A SHOULDER. ONCE SAFELY PULLED OVER THE START BUTTON (KEYLESS START) IS TURNED OFF AND AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR MINUTE IT IS ABLE TO STARTED AGAIN WITHOUT THE LIGHTS COMING ON. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ON-LINE AND THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING ON HIGHWAYS WHERE ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN NARROWLY AVOIDED. TRAVELING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT HIGH SPEEDS WHEN THIS HAPPENS COULD BE A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. PLEASE FORCE FORD TO ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY 2011 FORD EDGE LOST ALL ACCELERATION AND THE AWD WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE LIGHTED SYMBOL OF A WRENCH. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY SEVERAL CARS BEFORE I COULD MAKE IT SIDE OF ROAD. I HAD TO SHUT VEHICLE COMPLETELY DOWN AND RESTART. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MORE TIMES. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SEVERAL PEOPLE GET KILLED.
MY 2011 FORD EDGE MY TOUCH SCREEN WAS WORKING FINE ON 6/25/2016 AND ABOUT NOON THAT DAY I WENT TO GO TO THE STORE AND MY SCREEN WAS COMPLETELY OUT! IT IS THE MOTHER BOARD OF THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM., TEMP CONTROL, RADIO, SEAT HEATERS , RADIO AND SO MUCH MORE. THE RADIO COMES ON BUT NO SCREEN ITS BEEN OVER 48HRS AND NOTHING! I CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID "YES ITS THE COMPUTER AND MY WARRANTY FOR THIS IS NO LONGER GOOD. HOW CAN FORD DO THIS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS! ALL THE CONTROLS ARE ON THIS ELECTRIC BOARD! I LOVE MY CAR BUT IM SO UNHAPPY WITH FORD SERVICE!
WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN GET HARD AND NOT DEPRESSING APPLYING ENOUGH PRESSURE THE THE BRAKE PADS. THE HARDER YOU PUSH THE BETTER THEY WORKED SO DETERMINED THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST AND THEN BECAME REGULAR. CALLED FORD SERVICE TO FIND OUT THEY HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART BUT DID NOT DO A RECALL. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PART TO HAVE FAIL INTERMITTENTLY AS IT COULD GO FROM NEEDING A 100 FEET TO STOP TO 100 YARDS.
I WAS AT A DRIVE THRU AND HAD BRAKES APPLIED AND THEN I HEARD A HISSING NOISE COMING FROM BRAKES I LET OFF BRAKES TO MOVE FORWARD AND THE BRAKES WENT HARD AND TO FLOOR CAUSING ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALER AFTER I LEFT AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BRAKE BOOSTER THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE OR LETTER THAT THE BRAKES WERE RECALLED. I NOW HAVE DAMAGE TO MY FRONT BUMPER.
DOOR LIGHT COMES ON,, DOOR AJAR ,,,(AND) ,,DOOR LOCKS UNLOCK WHEN IN MOTION,,, I REALLY CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN CLEARING DOOR IS SHUT. SLAMMING DOOR OR GENTLY SHUTTING IT LIKE A FORMAL DOOR DOES NOT FIX IT. SOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND WILL DRAIN BATTERY. HAS LEFT ME STRANDED TWICE. DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL EVENTUALLY GO AWAY WHEN I SIT IN PASSENGER SEAT AND OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR UNTIL LIGHT GOES AWAY. I HAVE HAD MY 2011 FORD EDGE IN TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT THREE TIMES NOW. THEY REPAIRED IT THE PREVIOUS TWO TIMES AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING IT REQUIRES NEW DOOR LATCHES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE RESEARCH THIS AND THERE ARE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON..THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN. AFTER SEEING THE NUMBER OF INSTANCES OF THESE PROBLEMS I'M SHOCKED THERE HAS NOT BE A RECALL.
DRIVER DOOR ADJAR WARNING / INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT-DOWN.
AFTER USING THE PASSENGER DOOR, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLEARLY CLOSED. THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE OPENED AND CLOSED FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN OFF. WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON, THE DOME LIGHT WILL STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY AND THE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK.
