THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED PERMANENTLY WHENEVER EITHER REAR DOOR IS OPENED AND CLOSED. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED. FORD CHARGES OVER $400 FOR EACH DOOR TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD A RECALL!
FRONT DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S "DOOR AJAR" SWITCH FAILED CAUSING FALSE INDICATION OF DOORS OPEN, INOPERATIVE DOOR LOCKS AND DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING, AND WHILE PARKED DOME LIGHT STAYS ON CAUSING BATTERY DRAIN. *TR
DOOR AJAR MESSAGE ON ALL THE TIME
THE ENGINE DIED, AS I WAS DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS I TRIED TO EXIT AND MY CAR DRIFTED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IT WAS SEVERELY SMOKING AND I HAD TO GET MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER OUT OF THE CAR IMMEDIATELY. ALSO, THE HEAD GASKETS AND RADIATOR BLEW AND NOW THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE CAR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT DIAGNOSE AFTER 5 HOURS OF INVESTIGATING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND SLAM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IN ORDER FOR THE WARNING INDICATOR TO TURN OFF. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,500.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS FAULTY AND KEEPS THE DOOR AJAR WARNING ON THE DASH, IT ALSO KEEPS THE DOME LIGHTS ON IN THE CAR WHICH CAN OBSTRUCT SIGHT DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING, IT ALSO RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN CAUSING US TO CONTINUOUSLY START THE CAR OR LET THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DIE, IT ALSO KEEPS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WHICH COULD RESULT IN MY CAR BEING BROKEN INTO. THIS WARNING STAYS ON ALMOST ALWAYS WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR BEING DRIVEN.
(ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS )MY 2011 FORD EDGE UPON ACCLERATION THE VEHICLE LOSES THE ABILTIY TO ACCLERATE - SHUDDERS AND THE CHECK ENGINE FLASHES OR STAYS ON. SUPPOSEDLY COULD NOT FIND THE "CODE" THAT CAUSED IT. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO 2 DIFFERENT DEALER SHIPS - ONE REPLACED THE TRANSFER CASE, THE OTHER THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND IGNITION COILS- TO THE COST OF OVER 600.00 ON A USED CERTIFIED VEHICLE. LESS THAN A FEW DAYS LATER SAME ISSUE - BACK TO DEALER SAID IT WAS A LOOSE WIRE. I NOW DRIVE THE VEHICLE VERY TENTATIVELY AND HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY.THE VEHICLE PERSISTS IN THE ABILITY TO NOT ACCLERATE QUICKLY ( USUALLY AT 55 MPH OR HIGHER )WITHOUT THE ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING OR STAYING ON. IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST FREQUENTLY ON QUICK ACCLERATION --ON RAMP OR GETTING UP TO FREEWAY SPEED . IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THIS USUALLY HAPPENS GETTING ON OR OFF THE FREEWAY OR STAYING UP WITH TRAFFIC, ONCE THE LIGHT GOES ON THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE TODAY IT WILL BE 3 MONTHS FIRST VISIT WAS OCT 29 MILEAGE WAS 68000 AND HAS HAPPENED UP TO TODAY MULTIPLE TIMES AND MILEAGE IS NOW 74000 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN BACK TO FORD DEALER AGAIN TOMORROW.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON AND ALL DOORS WILL NOT LOCK UNTIL DOOR IS SLAMMED REPEATEDLY UNTIL WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF. INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON ALSO.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON AT ALL TIMES. IT PREVENTS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FROM GOING OFF. WHICH CAUSES DIFFICULTY DRIVING AT NIGHT OR BACKING UP.IT ALSO CAUSES THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD AND LOCKS ARE NOT SECURE ON THE DOOR
CAR LOOSES POWER WITH NO WARNING,ACCELORATOR DOES NOTHING.HAVE TO TURN CAR OFF AND RESTART.THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM,I WAS NEARLY T BONED BY A SEMI CROSSING A MAIN ROAD WHEN I HAD NO POWER AND STALLED IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY,IF NOT FOR GREAT REACTION OF SEMI DRIVER IWOULD HAVE BEEN HIT BROADSIDE AT 50 MPH.THIS HAS TO QUALIFY AS A SAFETY RECALL IF EVER THERE WAS A NEED FOR ONE.
DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE DOOR CLOSES TO A "THUMP" AS THE DOOR LATCH WILL NOT LATCH TO THE BODY. I WOULD HAVE TO REACH INTO THE LATCH, WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR HANDLE OPEN, TO PUSH IT UP TO GET THE DOOR TO LATCH.
WITHOUT ANY FOREWARNING, WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND HEARD AND FELT SEVERAL LOUD POPS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WHEN WE STOPPED, WE FOUND A BROKEN WINDSHIELD, THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL/TIRE HAD COLLAPSED INTO THE WHEEL WELL, AND THE ENGINE HOOD WAS PUSHED UP ROUGHLY 6" ABOVE WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. UPON INITIAL INSPECTION, WE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE STRUT TOWER, WHICH IS OF A RIDICULOUSLY WEAK 2-PIECE DESIGN, THE 2 PIECES HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER. NO POTHOLES OR OTHER ROAD HAZARDS WERE HIT, WE WERE DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE APPROXIMATE 9 SPOT WELDS HOLDING THE TWO PIECES OF THE STRUT TOWER TOGETHER COMPLETELY SEPARATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY 2 SEPARATE SHOPS, BOTH CLAIMED THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE TO ANY OTHER SUSPENSION COMPONENTS, INCLUDING CONTROL ARMS, BALL JOINTS, SWAY BAR, SWAY BAR END LINKS, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD'VE CAUSED THE STRUT TOWER TO BREAK IN SUCH A FASHION. SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF THIS HAVE BEEN REPORTED ONLINE AND REFERENCES CAN BE SHARED UPON REQUEST.
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WITH DOORS SECURELY CLOSED. THEY GO OFF RANDOMLY SO DOME LIGHTS COME ON EVEN WITH NOBODY IN CAR CAUSING MY BATTERY TO DRAIN. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COME ON RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING CAUSING AN ANNOYING DISTRACTION. THIS AFFECTS BOTH FRONT DOORS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 10 MPH, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK ELECTRONICALLY AND THE DOOR AJAR ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON FOR THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. IT CAUSES MY DOORS NOT TO LOCK AND MY LIGHTS STAY ON. IT HAS ALREADY RAN MY BATTERY DOWN AND IT CAUSES MY SECURITY SYSTEM NOT TO WORK. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD!!! I HAVE CALLED FORD AND THEY SAY IT'S NOT A SAFETY HAZARD AND THERE IS NOT A RECALL.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR ALERT REMAINS ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT AND LATCHED AND PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING WITH THE AUTOMATIC LOCK BUTTONS AND KEYLESS ENTRY PAD.
DRIVER DOOR SENSOR SHOWS DOOR OPEN AND IT IS CLOSED. LIGHT STAYS ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK.
DOOR AJAR WARNING. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN A NUMBER OF WAYS. THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DRIVING OFF. WHEN DARK OUT, IT'S HARD TO SEE, ESPECIALLY BACKING UP. ALSO THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK SINCE IT THINKS A DOOR IS STILL OPEN.
DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYS ON WHILE DOOR IS SHUT. THE DOORS ARE UNABLE TO LOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND DOME LIGHTS REMAIN LIT AT NIGHT MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE.
THE DASH INDICATION LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES EVEN WITH THE DOOR BEING CLOSED. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THE OTHER DOORS ON THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK WHILE PARKED AND/OR IN MOTION. I HAVE DRIVEN ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY DOORS UNLOCKED AND MY INTERIOR LIGHT ON BECAUSE OF THIS SENSOR. I HOPE THAT THIS CAN BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY.
DOOR DOES NOT LOCK AND THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT STAYS ON. WHEN I START THE CAR, IT SEEMS TO THINK THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. BECAUSE OF THIS, WHEN YOU TRY TO LOCK THE DOOR, IT WON'T LET YOU. THE DOME LIGHT WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THE DASHBOARD WILL READ "DOOR AJAR". (EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS CLOSED) THIS REALLY BECAME A PROBLEM WHEN WE WERE IN A SEEDY SIDE OF TOWN AND SOMEONE CAME UP TO THE CAR AND WE TRIED TO LOCK THE DOOR BUT COULDN'T. THE ACTUAL DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES FINE BUT BECAUSE THE CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED, IT WILL NOT LET YOU LOCK THE DOOR. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE DRIVING OR IF YOU ARE STATIONARY. WE DO FIND THAT WE CAN LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AFTER THE CAR IS OFF BUT THAT DOESN'T HELP WITH THE SAFETY WHILE IN THE CAR.
THE FOLLOWING THREE BULLET POINTS ALL HAPPEN IN CONJUNCTION WHEN I CLOSE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAY IN EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. *THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. *THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON IN THE VEHICLE WHILE STARTING TO DRIVE AND STAY ON UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE. * I AM UNABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION I HAD THE DOOR LATCH REPLACED ONCE A FEW YEARS AGO FOR THE SAME ISSUE.... THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT , THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR A WHILE AFTER STARTING TO DRIVE. AND IT IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS IN THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON, DOOR LOCK NOT WORKING DRIVER SIDE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
CAR WAS OPERATED IN COLD WEATHER ON MONDAY 12/28 AND THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED. CAR SAT IN GARAGE FROM 12/28 EVENING THRU 12/30 AFTERNOON. SOMETIME AFTER 10:00 PM ON THE 29TH DEC, THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE
THE DOOR AJAR ALARM ON THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS CAUSES THE DOOR LOCK NOT TO ENGAGE AND THE INSIDE LIGHTS TO STAY ON EVEN WHILE DRIVING. I DON'T HAVE A WAY TO LOCK MY DOORS, EVEN MANUALLY.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ACROSS THE DASH AND DRAINS BATTERY. FAULTY LATCHES ON 2 DIFFERENT DOORS.
*FALSE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT ON DASH STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS FIRMLY CLOSED* THIS CAUSES: - INTERIOR DOME LIGHT STAYS ON - UNABLE TO LOCK DOORS WHILE IN VEHICLE - THEY KEEP AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKING (WHILE IN ANY GEAR OR PARKED) WHEN VEHICLE IS ON - DOORS DO LOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF, WHEN LOCKING FROM OUTSIDE - BUT INTERIOR DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AS AN INDICATION SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY DURING COLDER TEMPERATURES, AND TAKES LONGER TO "CATCH"/FOR SENSOR TO FINALLY REALIZE THE DOOR REALLY IS CLOSED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT VEHICLE (USED) 6 MONTHS AGO, SPORADICALLY AT FIRST, BUT NOW EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY (POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF COLDER TEMPERATURES?).
WHILE DRIVING THE POWERTRAIN ERROR CODE (WRENCH ICON) POPS UP AND MY CARS LOSES ALL ACCELERATION. I'M FORCED TO TRY TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WHILE COASTING AND THEN ONCE STOPPED IF I TAKE MY KEY OUT AND REINSERT AND START THE CAR EVERYTHING IS FINE. FORD DEALER CANNOT FIND ANY ERRORS WITH THE VEHICLE AND THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN TO UNEXPECTEDLY LOSE ALL ENGINE POWER WHILE AT HIGH SPEED ON FREEWAYS OR EVEN SIDE ROADS WITHOUT A SHOULDER. THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE POSTING THE SAME PROBLEMS.
WE WERE TRYING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN, AND THE CAR WOULDN,T STOP. THE BRAKE PEDDLE GOT VERY HARD AND WOULDN'T PUSH DOWN. IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL A FEW SECONDS LATER. THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS AND FORD HAS A BULLETIN ON THIS PROBLEM 13N02, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM LUCKILY THERE WASN,T ANOTHER CAR COMING. WHY IS THERE NO SAFETY RECALL?
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR IS CONTINUALLY SAYING THE DOOR IS OPEN, WHEN IT IS CLOSED. THE LIGHTS STAY ON, THE LOCKS WON'T LOCK WHILE DRIVING.
I OWN A 2011 FORD EDGE SE. IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, AFTER CLOSING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, THE 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT REMAINS ON. ALL DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON. OPENING AND THEN CLOSING THE DOOR CAN TURN THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT OFF. THIS BEGAN AS AN INTERMITTENT OCCURRENCE IN AUGUST. NOW IT OCCURS EVERY TIME I ENTER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. TO ELIMINATE THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT, I REPEATEDLY OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL THE DOOR AJAR WARNING TURNS OFF. THIS OPENING AND CLOSING CAN BE ANYWHERE BETWEEN 1 AND 15 TIMES BEFORE EXTINGUISHING THE SENSOR LIGHT. DOING A BIT OF RESEARCH LED ME TO A FAULTY DOOR LATCH SENSOR. THIS A VERY DELICATE LOOKING SWITCH ACCESSIBLE JUST BEHIND THE DOOR LATCH. DEALER ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR: $175 FOR DOOR LATCH SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND $300 LABOR TO INSTALL, TOTAL: $475. FORD MUST KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS DESIGN. IF I ALLOW THE DOOR AJAR WARNING TO REMAIN ON, THEN PUT THE CAR IS GEAR AND DRIVE AWAY, THE DOME LIGHT WILL TURN OFF, AND REMAIN OFF FOR MY ENTIRE DRIVE.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING. CONSISTENTLY DISPLAYING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WHEN CLOSED. THIS CAUSES OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT, ALSO CAUSES ISSUES LOCKING THE DOOR WHEN EXITING VEHICLE BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. THIS ISSUE OCCURS EVERYDAY ON MOST DOOR OPENINGS/CLOSINGS.
AT APPROXIMATELY 73,000 MILES THE 'DOOR AJAR' WARNING LIGHT BEGAN COMING ON OCCASIONALLY EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR WAS SECURELY CLOSED. REOPENING THE DOOR AND SLAMMING IT SEEMED TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM, BUT IT BECAME MORE FREQUENT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE ONCE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE DOME LIGHTS WOULD ALSO STAY ON AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A LIMIT SWITCH INTERNAL TO THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY THAT SENSES THE DOOR LATCH POSITION AND TRIGGERS THE WARNING LIGHT. THIS COMPONENT CAN ONLY BE REPLACED BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE DOOR LATCH MODULE. THE REPAIR COST BY A DEALER IS PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE FOR MANY PEOPLE ($500+). THOSE WHO CHOOSE NOT TO REPAIR IT WILL NOT BE ALERTED IF THEIR DOOR IS NOT LATCHED AS THE WARNING LIGHT WILL BE ON ALL THE TIME.

WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE DOME LIGHT INSIDE THE VEHICLE REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON HWY 441 IN MCINTYRE GA ON DEC 8, 2015, MY CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN LOSES ACCELERATION AND STALLS. DESPITE THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC I WAS ABLE TO LET THE CAR COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE HWY WHERE IT SHUT OFF. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART THE CAR BUT IT WOULD ONLY SHUT BACK OFF. ON THE DASH MESSAGE APPEARED READING LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE HOWEVER I'D JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED THE DAY BEFORE. I CALLED STATE FARM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND AN OFFICER WAS DISPATCHED. THE OFFICER WATCHED AS I TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. HE ALSO OFFERED TO CHECK THE OIL AND CONFIRM THE CAR WAS FULL OF FRESH OIL. THE CLOSEST REPAIR SHOP WAS DISPATCHED TO TOW MY VEHICLE WHERE IT CURRENTLY REMAINS. I CONTACTED FORD TO ADVISE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND INQUIRE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS. I WAS QUICKLY ADVISED THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED AND THERE WERE NO RECALL THAT WOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING. I DECIDED TO GO ONLINE TO CHECK IF OTHER OWNERS HAD SAME OR SIMILAR AND WAS VERY SHOCKED TO SEE THE NUMBER OF FORD VEHICLE OWNERS DESCRIBING THE SAME AND OR VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS. THE NUMBER OF THE CONDITIONS THAT DESCRIBED BEING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC IS ALARMING AS THIS COULD AND EVENTUALLY WILL CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. IN MANY OF THE CASES THE PROBLEM HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES DESPITE BEING TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,269.
DOOR AJAR ALERT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING (CAR IN MOTION) - DOORS UNLOCK, OVERHEAD LIGHTS TURN ON. I STOP, OPEN/SHUT DOOR FIRMLY CONTINUE DRIVING AND RECEIVE THE SAME MESSAGE LATER IN THE DRIVE. I HAVE ON SEVERAL RECENT OCCASIONS RECEIVED THIS ALERT WHILE STATIONARY. THIS IS OCCURRING OFF AND ON BUT NOW HAS BECOME MORE COMMON. THE DOOR IS SHUT BUT THE ALERT COMES ON AT A VARIETY OF INTERVALS AND WHEN IN MOTION THE DOORS UNLOCK AND THE LIGHTS OVERHEAD COME IN WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS IN AND DISTRACTING. I HAD LOST MY BRAKES IN SEPT, 2015. HAD NEW ROTORS AND PADS PUT ON, THEN NOTICED THAT THEY WERE GOING TO FLOOR WITH HISSING NOISE, HAD 2 BRAND NEW MASTER CYLINDERS PUT ON, STILL NO CHANGE IN BRAKES, THEN HAD THEM REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER THE BEGINNING OF DEC, 2015. NO CHANGE IN BRAKES, THEY STILL GO TO FLOOR, I HAVE PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO DEAD END REPAIRS. FORD GARAGE WANTS ANOTHER $100 DIAGNOSTIC FEE?? FOR WHAT? I HAVE GOTTEN NO ANSWERS, NO HELP. I CALLED FORD WHO STATED THAT THEY WILL COMMUNICATE WITH THE TECH. THE TECHS ARE SAYING THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE, AND THAT THE BOOSTER SHOULD OF FIXED PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD MY VEHICLE MORE THAN I HAVE. BORROWING CARS, ETC. ANY HELP?? SUGGESTIONS?
DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON FOR DRIVER'S DOOR, INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF AND CREATES A NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD, LOCKS WON'T LOCK WHILE IN THE CAR AND THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF A FAULTY LATCH. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND EVEN HAS A BULLETIN OUT ABOUT IN WHICH I FOUND IN THE ALL DATA SYSTEM BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. LABOR ALONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS QUOTED TO ME AS $300 FROM MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP.

I TOLD THEM TO PUT ONE ON IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DON'T JUST REPLACE PARTS. I PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND 2 DAYS LATER IT DID THIS AGAIN. YOU COULD BE DOING 60, 65. OR 25 WHEN IT DECIDES TO LOSE THROTTLE CONTROL. IN THE MIDDLE OF A INTERSECTION TURNING OR GOING 60 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IT DON'T MATTER. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH ON A BUSY ROAD, THE CAR SLOWED ON ITS OWN AND STOPPED. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER THIS VEHICLE. I RESTARTED IT FOUR TIMES; IT WOULD GO FOR ABOUT 100 FEET AND THEN SLOW DOWN TO A STOP ONCE AGAIN. I FEEL FORTUNATE NO ONE RAN INTO ME. I CONSIDER THIS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP (THE ONE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM). THEY KEPT IT FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK, SELDOM CALLING ME TO REPORT WHAT WAS WRONG. TODAY I WENT TO PICK IT UP. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. THEY INDICATED THEY RAN A COMPUTER CHECK AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I TOLD MY SERVICE PERSON I FEARED DRIVING IT AND NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. HIS REPLY: "IT COULD BE ANYTHING. WE JUST CAN'T FIND IT." THE OTHER GENTLEMAN WHO WORKED THERE TOLD ME THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS WITH THE THROTTLE BODY (I'D ASKED REPEATEDLY ABOUT THIS) AND TOLD ME IT WAS NOT HIS JOB TO KNOW ABOUT RECALLS. I FEAR IF I CONTINUE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE AND I'LL BE IN HARM'S WAY.
