BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR..ESPECIALLY DOES IT IN WET, SNOW, ICY WEATHER. FEW TIMES IT HAD DONE IT ON DRY ROAD..BUT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE OCTOBER 2019..LASTEST INCIDENT WAS 01/10/2020..
I WAS DRIVING MY FORD EDGE ON ROUTE 303 IN PHOENIX AT ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING AND LOSING POWER. IT ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE A VERY SHORT DISTANCE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR, IN A TURN LANE WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER ON MY TAIL ...VERY DISCONCERTING! A YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT WAS SHOWING ALONG WITH SOME NOTICE ABOUT MY TRACTION BEING OFF, I BELIEVE. AFTER SITTING A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT OFF THE TURN LANE AND INTO A FAIRLY SAFE LANE AHEAD. FORTUNATELY A POLICEMAN PULLED UP BEHIND ME AND I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND CALLED AAA FOR A TOW. 20 MINUTES LATER, I TURNED ON THE ENGINE WHICH NOW SEEMED FINE SO THE POLICEMAN SUGGESTED THAT I PULL FORWARD INTO A SAFER AREA. AFTER DOING SOTHEBY'S CAR SEEMED FINE AGAIN SO I DROVE IT TO MY DAUGHTER'S HOUSE SEVERAL MILES AWAY AND CANCELLED THE TOW. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON LINE SINCE AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY EDGE OWNERS WHO HAVE FEARED FOR THEIR LIVES WHEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THEM. SOME SAY CLEANING OR REPLACING THE THROTTLE PLATE SEEMED TO WORK BUT OTHERS HAVE FOUND THAT THE DEALERS INSIST NOTHING IS WRONG AFTER TESTING IT.... IT SEEMS TO HAVE HAPPENED TOO MANY TIMES FOR NOTHING TO BE DONE.... I THINK A RECALL IS IN ORDER SO THAT THE DEALERSHIPS CAN FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE, IF THAT HASN'T ALREADY ACCUR. I HAVE A 2011 FORD EDGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR OUTER DOOR HANDLE WAS FRACTURED. THE CONTACT MODIFIED THE DOOR HANDLE WITH DUCT TAPE TO BE ABLE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V516000 (LATCHES, LOCKS, LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE FRACTURED DOOR HANDLE WAS NOT COVERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
UPON FILLING THE GAS TANK, ONCE PARK IN THE GARAGE THERE IS AN OVERPOWERING SMELL OF GASOLINE. I'VE CLEANED THE FILLER SEAL, CHECKED FOR LEAKS "NONE NOTED." NO FUEL ON THE GROUND BENEATH THE VEHICLE. THE TANK IS NOT OVER FILLED, NO RESIDUAL FUEL AROUND THE FILLER NECK OR RUNNING DOWN THE OVERFILL DRAIN. FUEL SMELL GOES AWAY AFTER THE TANK IS BETWEEN 3/4 TO 1/2 FULL. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHICH NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY A RECALL. I SUSPECT THAT THERE IS A BAD SEAL ON THE FUEL PUMP OR TANK MY BE DAMAGED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. AFTER THE REAR ELECTRONIC LIFTGATE DOOR WAS IN THE OPEN POSITION, THE DOOR ERRONEOUSLY CLOSED AND MADE CONTACT WITH THE OWNER'S HEAD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE SUV GAVE ME A BLINKING ENGINE LIGHT. DECODING TO A MISFIRE PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT THEY REPLACED THE COIL PACKS. ABOUT 10,000 MILES LATER I GOT THE SAME MISFIRE PROBLEM. SOME OF THE COIL PACKS WERE MELTED. I HAD THE SUV TOWED TO A GARAGE AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE IS DEFECTIVE. THEY REPLACED THE CONTROL MODULE FOR $1500.00. YIKES. DEALER TOLD ME THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS THE ECM IS DEFECTIVE BUT WON'T RECALL SO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR SCREW UP. WANT A REFUND FROM FORD.
HAD A RECALL ON DRIVER DOOR ISSUE WITH SECURE OF DOOR . BUT ON MY BACK DRIVER DOOR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM . DOOR COULD BECOME UN SAFE WHEN DRIVING . DONT KNOW IF IT IS SECURE. WHILE DRIVING. SHOWS OPEN. SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH ABS SYSTEM WHILE DRVING DIDNT STOP RIGHT AWAY . HAD TO STOP AND WAIT BEFORE BRAKE SYSTEM BECAME FUCTIONABLE .
DURING EVERYDAY DRIVING THE BRAKE PEDDLE APPEARS SPONGY. UPON APPLYING BRAKES YOU HEAR A HISSING SOUND AND THE PEDDLE MUST BE PUSHED SEVERAL INCHES PRIOR TO THE FEEL OF BRAKES BEING APPLIED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED THROUGH A RECALL TO PREVENT INJURY OR DEATH.
MY BRAKES HAVE BECOME VERY SQUISHY AND BARELY STOPPING NY CAR.I HIT THE BRAKES HARD IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR BARELY STOPPED. YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE PEDDLE CLEAR TO THE FLOOR FOR ANY REACTION. TOOK TO SHOP. REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THE LROBLEM CONTINUES. THE SHOP ISN'T SURE WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. AFTER INTERNET RESEARCH IT APPEARS THERE IS A MODULE PROBLEM AND THIS IS BEEN HAPPENING WITH THIS YEAR OF EDGE VERY FREQUENTLY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS ADRESSED!
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, MY EMERGENCY HAZARDS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES. WILL NOT TURN OFF BY TOUCHING HAZARD BUTTON, OR PULLING BATTERY TERMINAL. TOOK TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID MY BODY CONTOL MODULE IS FAULTY, AND WONT READ ANY CODES. NEED TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR FAULTY BCM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS OF THE VEHICLE FAILED TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AS THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY LOCK THEN RELEASE THE LOCKS, AS WELL. THE SENSOR THAT INDICATES WHETHER THE DOORS WERE LOCKED CONSISTENTLY STATES THAT DOORS WERE AJAR DESPITE THE ACTUAL POSITIONING AND LOCKING OF THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE (HAWK FORD LOCATED AT 2525 E MAIN ST, SAINT CHARLES, IL 60174, PHONE NUMBER 630-584-1800) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 129,131.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD TO SLOW AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALTERBORO FORD (902 BELLS HIGHWAY, WALTERBORO, SC 29488, (843)-549-5581, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
FOR SEVERAL YEARS WE HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES WHERE THE PEDAL WOULD JUST RANDOMLY GO TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKE RESPONSE WOULD ALMOST GO AWAY COMPLETELY. USUALLY ONCE THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF THE BRAKES WOULD COME BACK AND BE FINE AGAIN. THEY GOT REALLY BAD A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND WE WENT TO A DEALERSHIP AFTER LEARNING ABOUT A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE DEALERSHIP THOUGHT THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. SO ON 8/9/18 WITH 99,703 MILES ON OUR CAR THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FORD ISSUED. WE THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED UNTIL 11/26/19. MY WIFE WAS LEAVING WORK AND IT WAS A LITTLE ICY. SHE ACTIVATED THE ABS LEAVING HER WORK PARKING LOT AND THE PEDAL AGAIN WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THIS TIME IT DID NOT COME BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATIONAL BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO WORK. THE CAR WAS AGAIN TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THEY HAD 3 OTHER VEHICLES COME IN WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IN THE LAST WEEK. AFTER BLEEDING THE BRAKES AND RUNNING TESTS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT THAT CONTROLS THE ABS SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 127,000 MILES AND THE COST OF THIS REPAIR IS $1800. WE HAVE CONTACTED FORD MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER DOING TO SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET AND FIGURING OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT FORD IS AWARE OF AND WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT. OUR CALLS HAVE FALLEN ON DEAF EARS AT FORD AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD ONLY SAY THEY ARE SORRY FOR THE PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. BRAKES ARE A PRETTY IMPORTANT PART OF THE CAR AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAR WITH MORE BRAKE ISSUES THAN OUR EDGE AND FORD COULD CARE LESS. THIS WAS THE FIRST FORD I'VE EVER PURCHASED BUT I CAN GUARANTEE YOU IT WILL BE OUR LAST.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR..PUMPED THEM SO IT WOULD STOP..THEN DROVE WELL UNDER SPOED LIMIT UNTIL I GOT GOT HOME..1ST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS OCTOBER 2019 COMING HOME FROM WORK.
HAVING ISSUES WITH BRAKING WHERE THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR AND IS SOFT. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN I HAVE TO BRAKE QUICKLY AND CAR DOESN'T WANT TO STOP WHETHER IN TOWN OR THE HIGHWAY. BRAKE BOOSTER WAS ALREADY REPLACED DUE TO A PREVIOUSLY RECALL. HOWEVER, THIS DID NOT COMPLETELY FIX THE PROBLEM. IT ALREADY CAUSED ISSUES WHERE BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY REPLACED AND COST $800. NOW, THE DEALERSHIP IS STATING THAT IT WILL COST $1500 TO REPLACE THE HCU UNIT. I AM AMAZED THAT SO MANY OTHER INDIVIDUALS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES I AM HAVING. I'VE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH A CAR.
BRAKES INTERMITTENTLY GO ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS (TRAVELING STRAIGHT). CAR DOES NOT STOP. BRAKE FAILURE HAS HAPPENED TWICE RECENTLY, ONCE WHEN GOING OVER A RAILROAD TRACK (BIG BUMP), AND ONCE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TOOK TO FORD, AND IT TOOK THEM A DAY TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE, AND THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. THEY CHECKED ALL THE PARTS OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUE.
DURING BRAKING THERE IS A HISSING SOUND EMANATING FROM THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE BRAKE PEDDLE. THE BRAKING ACTION OF THE CAR IS SEVERELY DIMINISHED CAUSING REDUCED BRAKING APPLICATION DURING EACH PHASE OF BRAKING I.E. EMERGENCY STOPPING, NORMAL STOPPING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. THIS OCCURS ON EACH APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES.
MY 2011 FORD EDGE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LATCH: THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR AND THE DRIVER REAR. EVERYTIME THE DOOR IS SHUT IT SAYS DOOR AJAR.

WHEN I APPROACH THE CAR THE REAR TAILGATE DOOR OPENS AND AT TIMES I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS AFTER PARKING THE CAR! SOME TIMES A NOTICE OF OIL PRESSURE IS LOW WHILE DRIVING!
WHEN PUSHED ON, BRAKES PETAL DEPRESSES WITHOUT BREAKING SOMETIMES, BUT OTHERTIMES WORKS JUST FINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WOULD TRAVEL TO THE FLOORBOARD CAUSING DIFFICULTIES WITH BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT, A CERTIFIED MECHANIC, STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S AC VALVES WOULD NEED TO BE RELEASED AND THE HYDRAULIC UNIT DOC TREE FLUID WAS CORRODING THE VALVE. THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND KEEP IT FROM CRASHING INTO OTHER VEHICLES. HALL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM VIRGINIA BEACH (3152 VIRGINIA BEACH BLVD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452, (877) 475-0721) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE $1,700 FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER REPAIR. THE CONTACT PURCHASED A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THE WARRANTY WAS STILL IN EFFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE BRAKE FAILURE ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, BUT NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,980. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
PASSENGER DOOR LATCH DOOR CLOSED SENSOR FAILED. REQUIRES 30+ CLOSURES OF THE DOOR FOR THE SENSOR TO DIM CABIN LIGHTS AND KEEP DOORS LOCKES. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IF DOOR SENSOR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT IS CLOSED, WILL UNLOCK ALL CAR DOORS MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR A BACKSEAT CHILD TO OPEN DOORS WHILE IN MOTION.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM LEGACY OF TOYOTA IN TALLAHASSEE FL ON 10/23/2019 THEN 2 WEEKS LATER MY ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT CAME ON IT WILL COME ON AS SOON AS START MY ENGINE UP AND IT WILL STAY ON FOR A WHILE THEN GO OUT, THEN IT WILL COME BACK ON MAY BE A COUPLE DAYS LATER. I HAVE NOTICED SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHEN I AM A RED LIGHT WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKES I FEEL MY FOOT COMING UP LIKE IT IS BEING RELEASED AND I HAVE TO PUSH IT BACK DOWN. I HAVE ONLY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 35 DAYS. I'M LOOKING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET WITH THEM SAME ISSUES AS MINE AND KIND OF SCARED TO DRIVE IT. MY MIND CONCERN NOT ONLY IS IT SAFE BUT HOW MUCH IT IS GOING TO COST ME AND CAN BE FIXABLE. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM JUST SITTING THERE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT JUST WANT TO CUT OFF BECAUSE IT JERKS. BUT MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT ADVANCE TRAC WARNING SIGN THAT COMES UP CAN YOU HELP ME.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON AND STAYS ON WHICH KEEPS ON THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. CAUSING PASSENGERS TO FEEL U SAFE AS ND MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO BACK UP. THE PARKING LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF A OUT OF NOWHERE DRAINING THE BATTERY WHICH LEAVES IT DEAD.

THE CONTACT FIRST NOTICED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING ALL THE DOORS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING MESSAGE REMAINED ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WITH ALL FOUR DOORS BEING PROPERLY CLOSED. OTHER FAILURES INCLUDED VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY FLASHING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO OPERATE AS NEEDED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DICK SMITH FORD OF COLUMBIA (7201 GARNERS FERRY RD, COLUMBIA, SC 29209) WHERE SHE WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE WORTHLESS. MY FORD DEALER ADJUSTED THEM, MY FORD BODY SHOP ADJUSTED THEM, I ADJUSTED THEM, AND YOU STILL CANT SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THEY ARE NOT ANY GOOD. WHY HAVE YOU ALLOWED THIS TO GO ON? I WROTE TO YOU WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR AND GOT NOTHING. WHAT THE HELL ? NO SIDE TO SIDE ADJUSTMENT IS EVEN PROVIDED FOR IN THE DESIGN, BUT MORE THAN THAT THEY DON'T PROVIDE ENOUGH LIGHT TO LIGHT UP THE ROAD. IV'E PUT IN NEW BULBS $50.00 EACH, I'VE PUT IN A WHOLE NEW FACTORY HEADLIGHT $300.00 AND STILL CAN'T SEE THE ROAD. CAME HOME FROM KANSAS CITY LAST NIGHT 70 MILES, 35 MILES OF WITCH WAS ON INTERSTATE 49 AND AT TIMES WE HAS TO GUESS WHERE THE ROAD WAS. THE CAR IS A 2011 WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ON THIS? I HAVEN'T TALKED TO ANYONE WHO OWNS ONE OF THESE WHO ISN'T FIGHTING THE SAME PROBLEM. WE TRY NOT TO DRIVE THE DAM THING AT NIGHT, BUT SOMETIMES WE GET CAUGHT AND HAVE TO. THE DRIVER DOOR ISSUE HAS FINALLY BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY FORD, AND THEY ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ALERT IN JANUARY 2020, 19N09, WHICH WILL COVER THE COST OF FIXING THAT PROBLEM OR REIMBURSEMENT OF COSTS BY OWNERS WHO PAID TO FIX ON THEIR OWN. HOWEVER, I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH REAR PASSENGER DOOR, AND FORD (JOYCE FROM ONLINE CUST. SERVICE) SAID THAT'S NOT A COVERED EVENT. WHY DOES IT TAKE FORD SO LONG TO ADDRESS SAFETY ISSUES?
VEHICLE HAS 54,096 MILES ON IT. POWER TRANSFER UNIT FAILURE AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE. NOTICED A NOISE, TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR BEFORE IT GOT WORSE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN AND COMMON ISSUE. VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR WITH LOW MILES.
WHEN DRIVING, AT ANY SPEED, BRAKE PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY/RANDOMLY BECOMES SOFT, AND GOES TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED, WITH LITTLE TO NO REDUCTION IN SPEED. PUMPING THE BRAKES IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO STOP. THERE IS NO ASSOCIATED NOISE, AS SOME HAVE REPORTED (SUCH AS HISSING OR SUCKING AIR). THE MECHANIC IS UNABLE TO ACCURATELY DIAGNOSE OR DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME. HE REPORTS THAT IT COULD BE THE MASTER CYLINDER OR THE HCU/ABS MODULE, BUT AT THIS TIME WE'D JUST BE THROWING PARTS AT A PROBLEM. NO TROUBLE CODES ARE PRESENT AND ALL BRAKE SYSTEM PRESSURES WERE NORMAL DURING HIS TROUBLESHOOTING. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 108,000. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR, AND SHE REGULARLY TRANSPORTS OUR KIDS IN IT, SO TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF FAILURE PRESENT WITH RELATIVELY FEW MILES IS DISCONCERTING.

NO RECOURSE FROM FORD DESPITE MANY REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS, EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS FAILURE.

I HAD BREAK ISSUES WHERE THE PEDAL WAS TIGHT AND IT TOOK A LOT OF PRESSURE TO STOP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER RESULTING IN THE BREAK BOOSTER BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. MAYBE 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD MORE PROBLEMS BREAKING. THIS TIME THE PEDAL WAS SOFT AND WOULD TRAVEL TO THE FLOOR WHILE BREAKING. THIS TIME THE DEALER SAYS IT'S THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. SOUNDS LIKE BOTH PARTS SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY AND REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME.
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING APX 35MPH WENT TO DEPRESS BRAKE AT STOP LIGHT, BRAKE FELT STUCK HALFWAY, VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN AND THEN BRAKES MAKE A HIGH PITCH BEEP SOUND WHEN FULLY DEPRESSED.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE NORMALLY AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR DID STOP. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT COULD EITHER BE THE ABS MODULE OR THE BRAKE MODULE.. I TOOK IT AND TO ANOTHER SHOP BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. . I THEN TOOK IT YET TO ANOTHER. THEY ORDERED A CONTROL MODULE AND A BRAKE MODULE AND INSTALLED THEM ON DECEMBER 19, 2019 AT A COST OF 1500.00 DOLLARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
